Context menu with XML data

Hello,
I'm trying to create a context menu where you right click
over a flash object and it will display links to external websites.
The catch is I need to have the links stored in a XML doc for easy
access. For some reason flash will only read the bottom url
regardless of how many items are in the xml doc.
Any ideas?
contextmenu.xml

<menu>

</menu>
AS/
var contextXML = new XML();
contextXML.ignoreWhite = true;
contextXML.onLoad = buildContextMenu;
contextXML.load("contextmenu.xml");
function buildContextMenu()
var theMenu:ContextMenu = new ContextMenu();
var xmlLength:Object = this.firstChild.childNodes;
for(var i=0; i<xmlLength.length;i++) {
var ob = new Object();
var xmlPath = this.firstChild.childNodes
ob.name1 = xmlPath.attributes.name1;
ob.link1 = xmlPath.attributes.link1;
ob.name2 = xmlPath.attributes.name2;
ob.link2 = xmlPath.attributes.link2;
ob.item1 = new ContextMenuItem(ob.name1, itemHandler, false,
true, true);
ob.item2 = new ContextMenuItem(ob.name2, itemHandler, false,
true, true);
ob.item1.onSelect = function(){
getURL(ob.link1, "_blank");
ob.item2.onSelect = function(){
getURL(ob.link2, "_blank");
theMenu.customItems.push(ob.item1, ob.item2);
theMenu.hideBuiltInItems();
_root.menu = theMenu;

I don't think it is possible for custom menu items.
Cheers

I need to create a dynamic menu based on a xml returned by a webservice.

- Projeto2.Nome - Projeto2.Cliente:

I've tried using an HTTPService and a DataGroup, this code above works fine for display the projeto's names:
<s:HTTPService id="loginService"
url="http://timesheet.infinitech.local/services"
method="POST" contentType="application/xml"

<usuario>{campoUsuario.text}</usuario>
<senha>{campoSenha.text}</senha>
</requisicao>
</s:request>
</s:HTTPService>
and the DataGroup:
<s:DataGroup dataProvider="{tarefasService.lastResult.resposta.dados.projeto}" width="100%" y="100" x="20"
includeIn="Principal">
<s:layout>
<s:VerticalLayout />
</s:layout>
<s:itemRenderer>
<fx:Component>
<s:ItemRenderer>
<s:layout>
<s:HorizontalLayout />
</s:layout>
<s:Button />
<s:Label text="{data.nome}" />
</s:ItemRenderer>
</fx:Component>
</s:itemRenderer>
</s:DataGroup>
I have then tried including another datagroup inside the datagroup item renderer, but I just couldn't get it to work anyway, and tried it in a lot of ways... (basically, it would be a datagroup with dataProvider={data.atividade}).
Can anyone tell me how to get this to work?
I've uploaded an example xml, you can use it as the url for the HTTPService:

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
A lot of the information you need is in Adobe's scripting guide http://www.adobe.com/go/learn_lc_scriptingReference Also there is a very useful Adobe guide to Calculations and Scripts (and while it is for version 6 it is still very good because of the way it is laid out) http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/tips/CalcScripts.pdf
The Javascript could be used in the Layout: Ready event.
For italic font:
if (...some test...)
this.font.posture = "italic";
else
this.font.posture = "normal";
For bold font:
if (...some test...)
this.font.weight = "bold";
else
this.font.weight = "normal";
The script will change the font for the complete field. I don't think you can change parts of a field.You can also change font colour and font type (the guides above will help).
Good luck,
Niall

• Open Flash Player context menu with keyboard?

Is there a way to open the Flash Player (9 or 10) context menu with the keyboard?
We are building applications that require full keyboard support, and it is desrable to add some custom items to the Flash Player context menu. However, if keyboard-only users cannot access the menu, we will have to find a different solution.
thx

Thanks. That's just what I needed to know.
The Mouse Keys method worked fine. I couldn't get the VoiceOver approach to work, but I was just looking for one method.
Too bad none of this is enabled by default. I find Apple's strong dependency on the mouse to be a pain, but I guess they're targeting a market of less experienced users.

• XmlDataProvider .... is gone completely in my Xaml file. Why? How many different ways to deal with xml data source through WPF

I followed a procedure described in a book.
1. insert "Inventory.xml" file to a project "WpfXmlDataBinding" .
2. add the XML data source through the data panel of "blend for 2013", named it "InventoryXmlDataStore" and store it in the current document.
3. dragged and droppped the nodes from the Data panel onto the artboard.
Then I checked my Xaml file against the one provided by the book
Xaml file by the book:
<Window.Resources>
<XmlDataProvider x:Key="InventoryDataSource"
Source="\Inventory.xml"
d:IsDataSource="True"/>

Never do yourself down Richard.
Leave that to other people.
It's quite common for smart developers to think they're not as good as they are.
I coach a fair bit and it's a surprisingly common feeling.
And to repeat.
Never use anything ends .. provider. They're for trivial demo apps. Transform xml into objects and use them. Write it back as xml. Preferably, use a database.

The sample is just a collection of techniques really.
I have a sample which involves no real data but is intended to illustrate some aspects of how viewmodels "do stuff" and how you use datatemplates to generate UI.
I can't remember if I recommended it previously to you:

• Populating ComboBox with XML data

Hi there,
Probably the most basic question, but I'm having a hard time with this...
Trying to populate the ComboBox with XML data as a dataProvider.
Here is the code snippet:

<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
layout="vertical"
creationComplete="baseDataRequest.send()">
<mx:Script>

import mx.collections.XMLListCollection;
import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent;
[Bindable]
private var baseDataXML:XML;
private function baseResultHandler(event:ResultEvent):void
baseDataXML = event.result.node.child as XML;

</mx:Script>
<mx:HTTPService id="baseDataRequest"
useProxy="false"
resultFormat="e4x"
result="baseResultHandler(event)"
url="XML_URL"/>
<mx:ComboBox id="comboDemo"
width="390"
dataProvider="{baseDataXML}"
labelField="NodeName"/>
</mx:Application>
And that returns nothing, basically. I know the XML is being pulled, because if I do this:
baseDataXML = event.result as XML;
then I just see a single item in my ComboBox, with full XML content.
How do I populate the ComboBox with XML contents?
XML example:
<root>
<node>          <child>Child1</child>
<child>Child2</child>
</node>
</root>
Question: how do I populate the ComboBox with XML data nodes? I need <child> content to be the labelField of each combo box item...
Thanks!
K

<mx:Script>

var baseDataXML:XML = <root><node><child>Child1</child><child>Child2</child></node></root>;

</mx:Script>
<mx:ComboBox id="comboDemo"
width="390"
dataProvider="{baseDataXML.node.child}"
labelField="NodeName"/>
Don't do:
baseDataXML = event.result.node.child as XML;
Instead just do:
baseDataXML = XML(event.result);
And in your combo:
dataProvider="{baseDataXML.node.child}"

• PDF form with XML data connection comes up blank at run time

Hello All,
I am a newbie to ADOBE Livecycle 9, but am very proficient in C#. I would like to request for your guidance on the following issue.
We have a desktop application in C#, WPF, Sqlserver. The requirement is to launch a Livecycle form from the application for the user to read/edit/save data
I have done this much so far -
Downloaded trial version of Livecycle 9
Developed a interactive PDf form
Created an XML based data connection. Generated fields on the form using the fields from this connection.
Set the .XML file as preview source for the form
the controls on the form are boumd to the xml data source
In design mode, the form works fine, it displays my data correctly
I have created a WPF form with a button. On click of this button, I call the Process.Start(pdf-file-path). My pdf is launched properly
I have added a combo box to my WPF form. I select a parameter from this, then call a stored procedure which returns me a datatable depending on parameter passed
Using the returned datatable, I have used the datatable.writexml and datatable.writexmlschema to create my XML and XSD files. as mentioned above, this xsd is used to create the data connection for the PDF and the XML for the preview source
This is what I want to do -
Launch the PDF from my WPF form, pre-populated with the newly created XML data from my WPF form.
So basically, as the user changes the selection criteria from the combo box, the XML file data will change and the PDF file will be launched each time with new data.
The XSD format will always be constant
Problem -
My XML and XSD get created properly, my PDF launches, but it is empty
If I change my selection criteria and run the WPF application, and then open the PDF in design mode, it asks me whether it should refresh the XML source. This means that the PDF form is connecting correctly to the XML source
So why then, does the form come up empty at run time?
What link am I missing?
I have found some sites that help using Web applications, but nothing for desktop applications. It would be fantastic if you could point me to some help for developing Livecycle forms with C# / SQLServer
Your help in this case will be highly appreciated.
Thanks and Regards

Oops, something happended with the above post. I will try again... I have tried your suggestion but I still get the same garbled XML (with data repeated and some values "cut in half".

Here is what I get after decode-service and extract-to-XML-service. This is just the first barcode, the others are similar, sorry for the poor formatting, but I get a CDATA tage infront of the "istensen" value.

CDATA:istensen</fld_ForMellemEfterNavn
><fld_VejNRpostByEnLinie
>Superroad 99, 1330 Supertown</fld_VejNRpostByEnLinie
><fld_PrivatTelefonnummer
>20724283</fld_PrivatTelefonnummer
></sub_Person
></sub_PktA
><fld_BlanketNr
>kb0371ff</fld_BlanketNr
><fld_BarcodeCount
/></form1
>/sub_Adresse
><sub_Person
><fld_ForMellemEfterNavn>Kim Christensen</fld_ForMellemEfterNavn
><fld_VejNRpostByEnLinie
> Superroad 99, 1330 Supertown </fld_VejNRpostByEnLinie
><fld_PrivatTelefonnummer
>20724283</fld_PrivatTelefonnummer
></sub_Person
></sub_PktA
><fld_BlanketNr
>kb0371ff</fld_BlanketNr
><fld_BarcodeCount
/></form1

Obviously this is not a legal xml-string, so I can do nothing about it.

I have tried using a custom .NET component (ClearImage) for reading the same form (with the barcode) I get the correct data out from the barcodes. So I guess something is wrong with the decode-service in Barcoded Forms ES when I use compressed XML. But I can conclude since the ClearImage component can read the barcodes that they are compressed correctly.

Can you help me with getting further with this problem?

Sincerely
Kim

• CollapsiblePanel with XML data source

I've been working with the CollapsiblePanel for the past two
nights. I can't make the panel collapse at runtime when I have XML
data attached.
I validated by downloading one of the Adobe Lab
CollapsiblePanel samples. I validated that I could make the sample
work from my Dreamweaver CS3 environment. Then, I added an XML data
source and retested. The panel would not collapse. Then, I took out
the XML dataset and retested the CollapsiblePanel. It worked.
Is this a design feature? I can't imagine this was designed
to work this way. I'm trying to create a scrollable div that can
collapse. I have everything working except the collapse feature.
(BTW: I tried defining a spry:region and spry:detailregion, it
didn't seem to matter.)

How does the xml data look like? in GML?
If the xml data set is not too large, maybe you can add them (after your application has parsed them) as additional MapViewer GeoFeatures in a map request.
Currently MapViewer (preview or production release of 9.0.4) does not support xml-only datasource.
We will look into incorporating GML or other standard-based xml datasource for a future release of MapViewer.

• Firefox doesn't let me copy the web address from the address bar using the context menu with second button in mouse or trackpad

Hello!
I write to report a problem I have with the new update v35 and v35.0.1 Firefox on address bar
With the new version 35 of Firefox on Mac OSX Yosemite, clicking directly with the right mouse button in the address bar to copy the web address, context menu NOT allowed to copy the link, it shaded in gray, inactive ... you have to click on another browser free zone before returning to click a second time and be able to copy the link from the context menu
I mean, with the first right click in the address bar context menu that appears don't allow me to copy the link directly, you have to click on another area and then clicking again with the right mouse button in the address bar to copy the web address (happens to all pages)
I tried to open Firefox with inactive complements and plugins, and reset Firefox to first time use (like the first install) and the problem is here again... With or without complements and plugins the problem is here
This happens before and then when I format my computer

I don't have any icon addons only have 2 plugins, quicktime (integrated in OS) and adobe Flash, updated both
Before I format my Mac, I upgraded Firefox to v35 and here came this error
Then I format my Mac after days, by subjects of hard disk space, etc... when I install Firefox 35 (new install) the problem was here again
I tried to Open Firefox with disabled Add-ons, and Reset Firefox to an install version, but the problem is here always

• Context Menu for XML

When creating an extension, a context menu item can be added to a menu for a java file by using "instanceof oracle.jdeveloper.model.JavaSourceNode". Similarly, for jsp source you would use "oracle.jdeveloper.model.JspSourceNode". What do I use if I want to enable/add a context menu item to appear when an xml file is right-clicked under Miscellaneous Files?

FYI, there is a demo in the Extension SDK, which is called ClassSpy. If you right-click on a node and choose the appropriate menu item, it will display the name of the node in the log window, like oracle.bali.xml.addin.XMLSourceNode.

• Get selected function in a context menu with cl_gui_alv_grid

Hi,
I'm trying to implement a context menu on a alv grid. I defined and implemented a method for the event CONTEXT_MENU_REQUEST to add function codes to context menu. It works ok.
The problem is retrieving the function selected in context menu. I tried to define in the class definition a method for event CONTEXT_MENU_SELECTED (that seems to be the event to use) but i can't implement it because is defined as protected event in CL_GUI_ALV_GRID.
How i can implement a method to catch this event and determine te function code defined in the context menu??
Thanks.

The tool bar isn't the best mechanism to use for selecting Rows etc but should ideally be used for discrete functions like SAVE, UPDATE, DOWNLOAD TO EXCEL etc.
For data manipulation look at ON DATA CHANGED, ON DATA CHANGED FINISHED and DOUBLE CLICK.
Probably the easiest way is to use the double click event
methods on_dubbelklik
for event double_click of cl_gui_alv_grid
importing
!e_row
!e_column

methods dubbelklik

!e_column type lvc_s_col
!es_row_no type lvc_s_roid .

create object grid_container1
exporting
container_name = 'CCONTAINER1'.
create object  grid1
exporting
i_parent = grid_container1.
set handler z_object->on_user_command for grid1.
set handler z_object->on_toolbar for grid1.
set handler z_object->handle_data_changed for grid1.
set handler z_object->handle_data_changed_finished for grid1.
set handler z_object->on_dubbelklik for grid1.
call method grid1->register_edit_event
exporting
i_event_id = cl_gui_alv_grid=>mc_evt_enter.
endmethod.
method dubbelklik.
perform dubbelklik in program (caller) if found
using
e_row
e_column
es_row_no.
endmethod.
Now in the application program
when a double click event is done the method calls routine dubbelklik in the calling program
The row / column nr and field name will be passed to your subroutine.
(In my calling class for the grid I make the calling program one of the parameters);
form dubbelklik using
e_row   type lvc_s_row
e_column type lvc_s_col
es_row_no type lvc_s_roid.
read table <dyn_table> index e_row into wa_elements.
etc.
where <dyn_table> is my grid data table.
Any comparable method should work.

• Barcoded form with XML-data

Hi all,
In our solution we have some barcodes on a form (7 barcodes on the one that I am using), they contain compressed XML data (I know that this uses much space in the barcode - anyway it should work regardless of this).
What the interesting thing is what is returned from the "decode-service" in WB.
When I run a scanned form through the process I have created I get "garbled" xml in my XML-doc that is returned from the decode-service.
If I use a handheld scanner (with a customly created program that handles the compression) I get the correct data from the barcode.
If I do not use compression in the barcode I get the correct XML data from the barcode (with the decode-service). This is weird to me... What is going on???
Some time ago I posted this issue (http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?128@@.3c058293) but never really caught up with a solution.
Can you help me with this?
Sincerely
Kim

Oops, something happended with the above post. I will try again... I have tried your suggestion but I still get the same garbled XML (with data repeated and some values "cut in half".

Here is what I get after decode-service and extract-to-XML-service. This is just the first barcode, the others are similar, sorry for the poor formatting, but I get a CDATA tage infront of the "istensen" value.

CDATA:istensen</fld_ForMellemEfterNavn
><fld_VejNRpostByEnLinie
>Superroad 99, 1330 Supertown</fld_VejNRpostByEnLinie
><fld_PrivatTelefonnummer
>20724283</fld_PrivatTelefonnummer
></sub_Person
></sub_PktA
><fld_BlanketNr
>kb0371ff</fld_BlanketNr
><fld_BarcodeCount
/></form1
>/sub_Adresse
><sub_Person
><fld_ForMellemEfterNavn>Kim Christensen</fld_ForMellemEfterNavn
><fld_VejNRpostByEnLinie
> Superroad 99, 1330 Supertown </fld_VejNRpostByEnLinie
><fld_PrivatTelefonnummer
>20724283</fld_PrivatTelefonnummer
></sub_Person
></sub_PktA
><fld_BlanketNr
>kb0371ff</fld_BlanketNr
><fld_BarcodeCount
/></form1

Obviously this is not a legal xml-string, so I can do nothing about it.

I have tried using a custom .NET component (ClearImage) for reading the same form (with the barcode) I get the correct data out from the barcodes. So I guess something is wrong with the decode-service in Barcoded Forms ES when I use compressed XML. But I can conclude since the ClearImage component can read the barcodes that they are compressed correctly.

Can you help me with getting further with this problem?

Sincerely
Kim
