Contextual Event - "Currency Change Event" not raised?

Hey,
I am trying to raise contextual event on a table when I click on a row. The event type for a table is eventType="Currency Change Event" But is not working.
Here is the event in the PageDef file.
<events xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfm/contextualEvent">
<event name="paramValueChangedEvent"
customPayLoad="${bindings.PolicyId.inputValue}"
eventType="Currency Change Event"/>
</events>
After that I want to raise custom method:
<methodAction id="testEvent" InstanceName="myBean.dataProvider"
DataControl="myBean" RequiresUpdateModel="true"
Action="invokeMethod" MethodName="testEvent"
IsViewObjectMethod="false"/>
Here is the event map:
<eventMap xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfm/contextualEvent">
<event name="paramValueChangedEvent">
<producer region="*">
<consumer region="" handler="testEvent" handleCondition=""/>
</producer>
</event>
</eventMap>
When I raise the event programmatically, then the event is raised and my function is called.
Here is the code. I call this function on a custom selection listener of the table.
public void riseCurrencyChangeEvent(String treeID, String nodeID,
String attributeValuedPassedName) {
DCBindingContainer bc = ADFFacesUtils.getDCBindingContainer();
FacesCtrlHierBinding tbl =
(FacesCtrlHierBinding)bc.findCtrlBinding(treeID);
FacesCtrlHierNodeBinding node =
(FacesCtrlHierNodeBinding)bc.findCtrlBinding(nodeID);
EventDispatcher dispatcher = bc.getEventDispatcher();
node = (FacesCtrlHierNodeBinding)tbl.getRootNodeBinding();
dispatcher.queueEvent(node.getEventProducer(),
node.getCurrentRow().getAttribute(attributeValuedPassedName));
bc.getEventDispatcher().processContextualEvents();
My idea is not to call custom method after clicking on a table row, but I want to raise declaratively the event because I will need so generics.

Hi,
there is a bug 10045872 filed for this. The bug is scheduled for fixing in PS4 (11.1.1.5) I'll work on a manual - though code centric - alternative for the time being and publish it on ADF Code Corner when done.

  • Contextual Event question (Currency Change Event)

    Hello,
    I have published a contextual event on my table (Currency Change Event)
    I also have a SelectionListener on the same table.
    Will I have to manually/programmatically publish the event within the selection listener code? (and if so, how?)
    The reason I ask is that I practiced with a small app containing a region from an ADF library that handled currency change event from the referenced task flow and everything was great, but now I am trying to apply the same principles to my "proper" application and there is no currency change event being received in the parent application.
    I had a look at Andrejus example (http://andrejusb.blogspot.co.uk/2010/10/contextual-events-framework-and-adf-11g.html) but he has hand crafted the events on the page binding will I have to do that too? Is it not enough that I have the currency change event declared?
    Any help appreciated, thanks
    JDeveloper 11.1.2.2

    I've applied the same processing to another table that uses the standard collectionModel.makeCurrent selection listener and it's firing the contextual event handler in the parent application, so that almost confirms that it's the bespoke selection listener that needs code adding to it to invoke the currency change event
    edit :
    I added this code to invoke the makeCurrent and everything is ok again, thanks for listening
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    ELContext elContext = fc.getELContext();
    ExpressionFactory ef =
    fc.getApplication().getExpressionFactory();
    MethodExpression meth = ef.createMethodExpression(elContext, "#{bindings.partnersVO1.collectionModel.makeCurrent}", Object.class, new Class[]{SelectionEvent.class});
    meth.invoke(elContext, new Object[]{selectionEvent});

    Hi Subu,
    From your thread i understood like you want to use enter key from keyboard.
    write the statement as below your eneter event will be triggered,
    When Next or ''.
    call screen 100. " or what ever you want to trigger.
    If this is not the answer you were expecting revert bacl more precisely what you expect actually.

  • Event from Change document not triggerring

    Hi
    I've used chnage document FMRESERV to track change in table KBLP-DELTAWTAPP for any value change, but although I'm chnaging amount from FMX2, the event for this chanhe document is not triggerring. Can you please help me how to resolv the issue.

    Further, check if the change pointers are activated in transaction BD61 and if the pointers are maintained in transaction BD52. If these are maintained correctly along with the flag in the data element, the change pointers should be triggered.
    Does this help?

  • WebDynpro ABAP "on change event"

    Dear Experts,
    we are using a WebDynpro application (ABAP-Stack) and there are two
    inputfields included. My question is:
    First we did some input into the first field and than we navigate to the second one.
    Is it possible to delete the input of the first field when we do some input into the second one?
    Maybe we need something like an "on change event" but in WebDynpro there is no
    methodtype like that and no way to edit the generated HTML- or JavaScript-Code.

  • 11g: Contextual Events - How do I fire them on currency change?

    Hi!
    After posting a question here: 11g: Bounded task flows, need help and advice!
    I read the article at http://technology.amis.nl/blog/3365/adf-11g-how-events-in-one-region-cause-other-regions-to-refresh because I need to refresh region B when the user selects in region A.
    Now, the comments in that article suggest that Contextual Events are the built-in mechanism for that use case. So I tried that first. The online help suggests that this is what I need.
    I read the online help and created an event and defined a producer and consumer in the event map in the parent page's page def. Now the help shows how to fire the event when a methodAction binding is executed. But I need to fire the event when the user selects a row in region A's table.
    1. How do I do that? Where do I put the event? The help says it's possible, but does not show how. Add a selection listener to the backing bean and call the event-enabled methodAction binding from there? Or is there a better way?
    2. I get the impression, that - when I use the event to call the consumer's binding ExecuteWithParams method - just the query of the consumer's VO is executed. That's great. But how do I reset the flow to the initial action? Just refreshing the VO is not enough. I need to reset the flow to the initial action (showing a view).
    I read http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/fnimphius/taskflow_in_popup/taskflow_in_popup.html and now I am completely confused. Use input parameters or use events? If I use events, how do I reset (refresh) the task flows?
    Thanks,
    Sascha

    Sascha,
    are region A and B share the same transaction ? If yes and the content in region B is a dependency of the VO used in A then you don't need contextual events at all. So if i assume that region A contains a list of departments and region B the employee table (where DepartmentsVO is the parent of EmployeeVO) then you can do as follows
    - navigate to the region definition of region B in the pageDef file
    - use the right mouse context menu to add parameters, and then a parameter (e.g. changeIndicator)
    - wire the changeIndicator parameter to the DepartmentsVOIter current row key str (its a method exposed directly on the iterator)
    - set the region binding refresh to ifNeeded
    - set a partial trigger on the regionB to point to the departmentTable so the region is refreshed whenever the table row currency changes
    The parameter that you added just does nothing except that it indicates to the region binding that the region must refresh. You point it to the row row key of the department iterator because it provides the changed value.
    If VO in regionB is not dependent on the DepartmentVO, then you need to create a parameter on the bounded taskflow, which takes the value of changeIndicator to write it to pageFlowScope.currRowKey. Then create a set currentRowWithKey method as a default activity and wire it up to pageFlowScope.currRowKey

  • 'CHANGE' event not triggering for BTE 2214 on park/change from FBV1/FBV2

    I have designed a workflow template for FI parking. If the parked document is rejected, i need to trigger FIPP 'CHANGE' event for sending workitem to approver when someone changes the parked document. In SWEL event trace, the 'CHANGE' event is not getting raised.
    So i implemented a BTE 000002214 and now i am able to raise 'CHANGE' event and capture it in workflow. But this is only working when i park a document using FV50 transaction and later change it.
    But when i park a document using FBV1 and then make changes from FBV2, the 'CHANGE' event is not being triggered in SWEL. Should i implement some other BTE like 2218 etc? Can you please help?

    Hi Gokul,
    You can try handling the SAVE event instead of the CHANGED event.
    T-code FBV2 will not allow you to save the document unless you make some changes.
    Try implementing BTE 2218 and revert.
    Thanks,
    Sreekanth

  • Raise event on Change document STUE

    Hi,
    when I add a document to a doc. structure in tx. CV12, a change document is created with change object STUE. When I try to raise an event on this document structure, i get an error "Key for change doc. object STUE and business object type DRAW are incompatible". I get this, no matter what Business object i try to use.
    I have tried to make a new business object with the key from STUZ, which should be the leading table in the change document.
    Still i get no events, when changing the document structure. Any ideas, or other solutions?
    Kind regards
    Mikkel

    Hi Mikkel,
    If your key matches the table STUZ's key fields exactly then it should work. In other words two key fields STLTY STLNR. If not or if this is not what you want then you have two options:
    1. Use SWED to define the key for STUE to have a structure DRAW. You will need to create and enter a FM to read/convert the changedoc data and supply the correct key for your DRAW object at runtime since it's differetn from STUZ.
    2. As above, but try explicitly defining the structure for your custom object. Alternatively a dummy FM in here is useful to try to debug what's going on.
    Hope that helps,
    Mike

  • Dynamic Action, validation check, on an Item, could not use Change event

    I am learning how to use Dynamic Actions in a 3.2.x app that was upgraded to 4.0.x. I wanted to share what I learned adding client side validation with these actions. Perhaps an Apex guru could suggest an easier method to use this feature.
    I have an existing function where a user selects multiple rows in a report page, and then assigns a single status and enters justification text for the selected rows in another page, then saves changes (via submit).
    One item, justification, is required. I replaced my JavaScript validation of an empty value, e.g., P10_JUSTIFICATION.value, with a dynamic action. The Change event was a candidate for this item, with the "is not null" Condition. However, it is possible to initiate this screen to review the status, overlook the justification text and immediately select a button to save changes. No Change event has fired. The Before Page Submit event was applicable here. This Event selection in the wizard does not provide the Item for definition and then the Condition wasn't the right context though available for selection. I selected JavaScript expression for the Condition, actually entered my original JS test expression, and created one True Action. The True action displays an Alert to tell the user that required text is missing.
    Test of this DA was not completely successful. The alert appeared but the page went on to submit anyway. I found I had to add another True Action, Cancel Event, to stop the submit. The DA was then successful.
    The Apex site examples, [http://st-curriculum.oracle.com/obe/db/apex/r40/apexdynactions/apexdynactions_ll.htm] , do a great job showing use of Change and Set Value events for Items but a user may not always navigate through items. These features were promoted for developers with no to little knowledge of JavaScript to use Apex for application development. This DA required using/understanding JS anyways.
    My next step is to implement actions on a tabular form that that has required values. It is disconcerting that I have read in the forum that the column value references such as f0x and its row number are required to get it all working (as a DOM or JQuery selector). I have already found that tabular form columns can be re-ordered from v3.2.1 to 4.0.x. I was hoping I could declare dynamic actions or simpler Javascript methods that would not rely on f0x array references.
    Thanks,
    Kelly

    It is disconcerting that I have read in the forum that the column value references such as f0x and its row number are required to get it all working (as a DOM or JQuery selector).Not necessarily. One possibility is to use descendent jQuery selectors to attach the dynamic action event handler by column heading:
    td[headers="HIREDATE"] input

  • Shopping Cart Workflow - "Wait for change event" not firing?

    Hi there,
    I have a scenario where if I create a shopping cart above my spending limit it will go into the approver's inbox, that is fine.
    Now if I change the total value of the shopping cart to be within my spending limit the original workflow should be "logically deleted" and a "no step approval workflow" should be triggered.
    I see when the SC workflow triggers it also branches with a "wait for events", so that if it changes etc it will get caught here.
    When I change the SC it does not do anything, the value of the cart changes but it still sits in the approvers inbox and the "no step approval workflow" does not trigger.
    We are busy upgrading to SRM 5.0, it worked perfectly in the SRM 3.0 system we had.
    Any ideas what would cause the "change event" not to fire?
    Thanks for the help
    Lynton

    Hey Masa,
    You are the man!! That solved it.....I have implemented the BBP_WFL_SECUR_BADI and for whatever reason I set the security level to 4 when it should have been 2.
    4     "High" (workflow is never restarted when changes are made)
    3     "Medium" (WF restarted conditionally when changes are made)
    2     "Low" (workflow is always restarted when changes are made)
    1     "None" (changes to the object are not allowed)
    0     "Not defined"
    Thanks for the help

  • ADS with af:poll component does not reliably deliver DB change events

    I took the Steve M's sample #156 (http://blogs.oracle.com/smuenchadf/examples) as mentioned in an earlier forum post (Re: ADF BC and the Active Data Service using af:table and modified it to use an af:activeOutputText instead of the adf:table to display the output as a result of database modifications.
    As long as I open 5 or less tabs/browser windows (combination of IE and Firefox Mozilla) with my sample application, I can see the database changes being actively delivered to each of the browser/tabs correctly. However, when I open more than 5 browser/tab windows for my application and make a database change, then most of the times the active event does not seem to be delivered to any of the browser/tab windows and the af:activeOutput text field is not updated with the latest database change. At this stage, the database change active event is not just delayed it just does not seem to fire, the only way at this stage to get the database change to show up is to open another browser tab/window. When you do that, then not only the newly opened tab/window get the latest database change but also the tabs/windows that had been opened earlier suddenly receive the database change that they had not received before the new tab/window was opened. It almost looks like the tabs/windows had received the database change event but it was queued up and for some reason was not able to refresh the browser/tab window.
    I am working off an ADE application view that has the underlying FMWTOOLS_MAIN_GENERIC_110116.1002 label. Is this a known issue and if so when can a fix be expected for this? If you need my application, I can zip it up though I believe I was getting similar behavior even with Steve's original sample 156 for more than 5 browser/tab windows.

    Hi,
    if I am correct, then you are from Oracle and should use internal forums or mailing lists.

  • Start automatically CPS job waiting event when event not raised

    Hi,
    how to automatically start at a defined time a CPS job waiting an event, , if the event is not raised ?
    Clement

    Hi,
    You can have another event associated with such job chains(say Event_Force_Start) and define an OR condition in the event expression of the job chain. You can trigger the Event_Force_Start by anothe dummy script that excutes based on scheduled time or a submit frame. Thus yu can start the job at required time irrespective of the event under consideration being raised or not

  • Item state change events - notification not recd when run on nokia phone

    I have a Form which implements ItemStateListener and its registered to receive item state change events. The Form has a text field which needs to be enabled/disabled based on certain ChoiceGroup element being selected. The code works fine on emulator, however I don't receive event notification in itemStateChanged() on series 60 nokia devices when a new ChoiceGroup element gets selected. Has anyone faced a similar problem? Is there any solution for this? The profile used in my project is CLDC 1.1 and MIDP 2.0.

    I faced a similar problem on Motorola ROKR E6. Turned out that ItemStateListener was working only as long as the first form to be displayed remained current -- once I setCurrent another Form, the app stopped responding to itemStateChanged.
    The workaround I adopted was to remove Items from the Form and add new Items, giving the illusion of the next form being displayed. It would be interesting to know whether that works for you and whether anyone has faced the same problem with any other handset.
    I have subsequently come to know that Motorola have marked my bug report as "solved" -- but have not offered me any option to update my handset with a bug-free version.
    btw, calling setConstraints on a TextField can throw a NullPointerException. My workaround for that was to setText("") in the itemStateChanged in lieu of setConstraints (TextField.UNEDITABLE).
    luck, db
