Contribute CS3 - setting default home page

Hello. I'm trying to set up Contribute to administer a Web
site. We use .shtm extensions for our pages, including our home
page. I've altered the list of index pages in the Administrator
panel, but when I start Contribute and go to the home page, it
still insists on going to a default ".html" extension. Is there
another way to change that default? It's pretty annoying to go to a
page that doesn't exist - makes it look as if the application does
not work.

Tru this please:
1. In the main menu go to Edit>Administer websites
2. go to Usres and Roles
3. pick your role and click Edit Role Settings
4. on the screen 'General' check the Home Page for Usres in
this Role with the right page (index.shtml)

  • Workgroup Manager - Set default home page for Safari

    Hello
    is it possible to set a default homepage for the a suite of macs using Workgroup manager, for some reason the mac suite are not picking up the homepage set via the proxy, so if it could be changed it would be a great help.
    thanks

    Then just add it yourself. Do this:
    Select any other value available in the com.apple.Safari manifest and then edit the raw xml. This can be done by doing the normal process described above but choosing something other than Home Page. I choose Download location. Then, click back on Accounts and go to the Inspector tab. If you do not have it enable, go WGM's preferences and enable the "show all records tab."
    Once that is visible, select the account that you modified and then click the Inspector tab. From the list, find MCXSettings and turn the reveal arrow down. Select the MCX entry and press the edit pencil. You will see something like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">

    <array>
    <string>user-managed</string>
    </array>
    </dict>
    </dict>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    Simply hand enter the value you want so it looks like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

    <key>mcxpreferencesettings</key>
    <dict>
    <key>DownloadsPath</key>
    <string>~/HERE/</string>

    <array>
    <string>user-managed</string>
    </array>
    </dict>
    </dict>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    THen optionally, remove the DownloadPath key and value.
    That should do it for you.

  • Setting default home page for managed computers

    We are currently running Mac OS X Leopard Server, which manages 22 other machines in a school environment.
    We also have a wiki/blog/webmail page setup at the address artroom.local and we want this to be the homepage on every managed machine in the room.
    How do we do this - we have looked everywhere in Server Admin and Workgroup Manager to find this, as well as trying to change the homepage on the root account of each individual machine to no avail.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Could you tell me the command to distribute it to all our managed computers from terminal?
    Once I know that, we can finally get back on track setting up the rest of our managed machines

  • Group Default Home Page doesn't work(WWC-44131)

    Hi,
    We had configured a Group "A" and and page group "pageA" before, and it have
    run well for a long time.
    Recently, we want to configure another Group and Page Group, but we couldn't archive that.
    Here are what we do.
    1) create a Page Group "pageB"
    2) create a Group "B"
    3) create a User "userB"
    4) grant access privileges(view) of "pageB" to Group "B"
    5) set Default Home Page of group "B" to "pageB"
    6) set group "B" to be the Default Group of "userB"
    When I logged in with userB, I got the error.
    Error: You do not have permission to perform this operation. (WWC-44131)
    I awared that the logging URL redirect to "pageA", and I didn't add userB to pageA, so I got the error.
    After I added userB to pageA, the logging would be successful(redirect to pageA), but it's not what we want.
    When I set the pageB to be the Default Home Page of userB, I could log into Portal with pageB successfully.
    But it's impossible that we set all the user's Default Home Page.
    Note that everything is okay before, the problem occurred when we want to add another page group.
    The Global Default Home Page is "Portal Builder".
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Jimmy

    In a word, I set the Default Home Page of GroupB to PageB, and UserB belongs to GroupB.
    I didn't set the User Default Home Page of UserB.
    When UserB logged in, portal redirected UserB to PageA, not PageB.
    Why?
    Thanks in advance.

  • How can I set the default home page for all new users in Firefox 4

    I'm trying to deploy FF 4.0rc1 in a corporate environment but I can't find a way to set the default home page or any other settings for that matter.
    Is there a way to set the default home page for all new users and lock it so that the users can't change home page?
    Best regards
    Jonas

    In Firefox 4 the template folder for new profiles (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile\
    ) doesn't exist. You can create that \defaults\profile\ folder and place a file user.js in it with the prefs that you want to initialize.
    See:
    *http://www-archive.mozilla.org/catalog/end-user/customizing/briefprefs.html
    You can also use a mozilla.cfg file to set the default value for prefs.<br />
    See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences
    defaultPref(); // set new default value
    pref(); // set pref, but allow changes
    lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes

  • Can I set a default home page when people use my router?

    Can I set a default home page when people use my router?
    Can I set it to my web site for example so that people have to go there when they connect?
    Thanks,

    Hello EireReality. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
    Can I set a default home page when people use my router?
    No, at least not that I'm aware of. Setting a "default home page" is typical feature of a web browser, not an Internet router.

  • How to set a default home page in Safari

    Is there a way to set up a default home page in Safari so that when I launch it, it will always go to that page first?

    Navigate to the page you want to be your home page. Press the + and then Add to Home Screen. Now simply use that new icon to launch Safari instead of the Safari icon.

  • Allow User to set their Default Home Page

    How can I allow the end user to set their defualt home page? There is a User Profile Portlet but end users are not able to see it when they log in. Also, I want them to be able to just set their own defualt home page.
    Thanks.

    As a privileged user:
    [same functionality as above]
    Oracle Portal Home Page > Administer Tab > Portal User Profile > Edit Portal User Profile > Preferences Tab > Default Home Page
    On this page you can also set the Default Group for the user. As groups have a Default Home Page property too, the Default Home Page can be managed on a group membership basis, if needed.
    Hope this helps.

  • Setting the System Default Home Page

    Hello everyone... i've created a root page with some portlets on it...
    what i am trying to do is to set this root page as default for a particular user.
    i found some steps online but it doesn't seem to work...
    here is what i was trying to do:
    To set a user's default home page:
    In the Portal User Profile portlet, in the Name field, enter the user name of the user for whom you want to assign a default home page.
    By default, the Portal User Profile portlet is on the Administer tab of the Portal Builder page.
    Click Edit.
    Next to the Default Home Page field, click the Browse Pages icon to see a list of pages from which to choose.
    Click Return Object next to the page you want to make the default home page for this user.
    Click OK.
    please let me know how to do this correctly...
    thank you

  • Firefox 4.01. I wish to have "Mozila Firefox S tart Page" as Start Page. I have used "How to set the home page" (tools, options, general, restory to default) but no result.

    # Numbered list item

    The part you are probably missing is
    When Firefox starts: "Start my Home page" (in the dropdown)
    the installed default home page is about:home in Firefox 4, but simply choose the "Restore to Default",
    then click on the "OK".
    see [https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How%20to%20set%20the%20home%20page How to set the home page | How to | Firefox Help]
    If that is not working then try instructions , and following the instructions suggest taking a picture of your toolbars first, so that you will be able to recustomize your toolbars afterwards, see [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Corrupt_localstore.rdf Corrupt localstore.rdf - MozillaZine Knowledge Base]
    After resetting, continue with [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Toolbar_customization Toolbar customization - MozillaZine Knowledge Base] and if you used small icons -- don't forget the checkmark for that in the dialog.

  • How do you set a default home page for tabs

    Default home page setting is easy enough but when clicking the "+" to open a tab I want to set the page that it defauts to. You would think that it would do the default home page but it doesn't and I cant find where to set it.

    Troubleshooting tips on the '''browser.newtab.url''' preference:
    ''If Firefox won't let you edit this setting:'' you may have something called SearchProtect on your system. This needs to be removed from the Windows Control Panel.
    ''If Firefox lets you save your change but ignores it:'' one of your extensions may be overriding it. You can review, disable, and/or remove extensions on the add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
    In the left column, click Extensions. Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right and disable (or remove) anything unknown.
    ''If the change works during your session, but at the next startup is back to the unwanted page:'' you might have a user.js file in your personal Firefox settings folder (your Firefox profile folder). This article describes how to track down and remove the file: [[How to fix preferences that won't save]]. Also beware of features in utility programs like Advanced SystemCare that roll back settings changes between sessions.
    If bad add-ons do not have a Remove button or keep coming back, here's my suggested procedure for tracking down and cleaning them up. I know this seems long, but it's not that bad.
    (1) Open the Windows '''Control Panel''', Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
    (2) Open Firefox's '''Add-ons page''' using either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
    * in the Windows "Run" dialog, type or paste <br><code>firefox.exe "about:addons"</code>
    In the left column, click '''Plugins'''. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
    In the left column, click '''Extensions'''. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions.
    Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
    Any improvement?
    (3) You can search for remaining issues with the '''scanning/cleaning tools''' listed in our support article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]]. These on-demand scanners are free and take considerable time to run. If they finish quickly and especially if they require payment, you may have a serious infection. I suggest the specialized forums listed in the article in that case.
    Success?

  • In the Options box, no matter what I set my Home Page to (Current Pages, Blank Page, Default) I am unable to change my homepage settings; they absolutely will not change and I can't figure it out.

    Up to about a month ago, I never had any problems setting my Home Page to Using Current Pages. Then, all of a sudden, I am unable to make any changes to my Home Page no matter what I change the settings to. I work for the US Forest Service and I don't know if some program was loaded that prohibits any changes from being made. Any help would be most appreciated.

  • Can't reassign default home page for site connection

    I am connecting to a site where index.php is the default home page.  For some reason, it keeps pointing to index.html and of course comes up "page not found".  I have edited the connection so that ONLY index.php is in the default page list (under index files tab), and it still looks for index.html.
    I have deleted the entire connection, restarted contribute, navigated to the home page successfully during set up, only to have it look for index.html again.  I have also manually typed in the full url and index.php in another set up attempt.  I logged onto the server and deleted the entire folder that Contribute set up, thinking it was holding on to some information in the files there.  I restarted contribute, created a new connection to the site, and it STILL is looking for index.html.  It should be loading http://www.gotohudson.net but instead it's trying to load http://www.gotohudson.net/index.html.
    HELP me get rid of that reference.....
    thank you,
    Marita
