Controlling embedded video display size on a page

Is there any way to up the size of the embedded video size on a wiki page?

hello, you could try to enable click-to-play functionality for plugins - then the plugin content won't be active until you enable it on each page.
enter '''about:config''' into the firefox location bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named '''plugins.click_to_play'''. double-click it and change its value to '''true'''.

  • Some questions on controlling embedded video

    I am preparing a brochure with lots of embedded videos. I have found that Acrobat does embedded video very well and reliably. The videos are large in physical size so they are enabled from a small thumbnail and run in a window. The documents I have done in the past have had only one clip on a page and I set the clip to disable when the current page is not visible. Some videos are over one minute so if the reader moves on to another page while the clip is running the clip window disappears.
    The brochure requires several video clips per page, so I need to make it easy for the user to dismiss a clip window they are finished with. No matter what window settings I use for the clip the windows close button (top right) is miniscule, and I am concerned reader either won’t notice it or find it hard to use. The “Disable when” options in the Edit Video dialog box are very limited, ideally I want a disable when user clicks anywhere outside the clip window, as this isn’t possible I am looking for an alternative. I have considered the following but it looks like none of these are possible or practical:
    Dedicated “Close Video” button- there appears to be no command available to user buttons to do this.
    Place all clips on their own dedicated page and when the user clicks the “clip icon” it navigates to the video clip page which as a “return’ button which navigates back. This would only work reliably if the user is forced to use the documents page navigation and prevented from using acrobat’s page navigation. Even if you switch off display of acrobat’s navigation buttons it still responds to keyboard arrows.
    Any suggestions?
    Also when I embed the clip I draw a small rectangle and use “retrieve poster from media” sometimes it puts a small “Play’ icon on the poster and sometimes it doesn’t, its not clear to me how to control this.
    Many thanks
    Murray

    Unfortunately there's always a delay as a Rich Media annot (de)activates, in part due to Acrobat/Reader being a 32-bit application. Rich Media is stored in the PDF file as compressed data, so every time it opens Acrobat/Reader has to churn through a heap of memory-intensive operations to prepare it for handoff to Flash Player. On deactivation, there's a similar amount of reorganization to clear things up. Not a whole lot you can do about it, sorry. Things should improve in future versions.
    In terms of the highlight effect when you click a button, that's probably the default "invert" style which all buttons get. You can chage it to an outline instead (on the Options tab of the button's properties) but you can't make the inversion effect any more distinct. If you want to do something like making the click effect turn the button face pure yellow, then change the button's type to "push", also on the Options tab, and load a yellow bitmap or PDF image as the icon of the "down" state. Getting the icon to scale properly is controlled by the Advanced button on the Options tab - choose "non-proportional" and "always scale" to make it fill the rectangle. Of course you can put icons in the other states too if you want, but they'll hide the video thumbnail.

  • Embeded video displays properly in FF but not on IE

  • A "professional" display of a video? How do I control the video display?

    My goal is to display a quicktime video I have created using my MacBook Pro on a video projection system at a party.
    The video is about complete. What I want to do is either have a still frame showing on the projector, and the right time, just show the video, or have a black screen until I show the video. At the completion of the video I want the screen to go back to black. At no time do I want to show on the projector the desktop or any of the quicktime controls.
    What can I do from the laptop side that would allow me to bring up the video and freeze it at a title screen and then start it without any keyboard activity being shown on the screen?
    Though, without doubt, I am an amateur at this, I would like the presentation to be as "professional" as possible, given what I have to work with.
    All help and ideas are greatly appreciated....
    Paul

    Your best bet is to use the "blank screen" feature on the projector. Almost all projectors have this feature. You can then turn on and blank the projector screen, get the video running on your mac and then unblank it when you are ready. When the video is over, blank the projector at the end of the video and then worry about closing the video on the mac.
    If for some reason the projector does not have this feature, or it is not convenient (for example, you can't find the remote to the projector and don't want to walk up to it, or it is on the ceiling) then your best bet is to edit your video so there is a few seconds of "black screen" at both the start and end of the video. Then get your video started full screen, pause it before it starts THEN turn on the projector (that will only be displaying the still blank frame and then you can start the video when you are ready. When the video is over, stand by and be alert so you can pause it when it hits the blank screen at the end of the video. You can then power off the projector.
    Hopefully you will find one or both of those solutions helpful.
    Whatever you do, MAKE SURE to TEST it out before hand! There is nothing more un-professional then when I see people bring in laptops that they have never used with an external display before and have no clue how to get the video out enabled. (with mac's its automatic, but with PC's sometimes you have to push a funny keyboard combo like FN + F8 to get it to work) The audience then gets to stairs at the "NO INPUT" screen of the projector as you scramble around tying to get it to work. lol.

  • How to programmatically control the Image display size

    I wonder if
    it is possible to let the Vi adapt the size of the VISION image display if the
    user zooms in the displayed picture (as can be done in other graphical software
    like Photoshop or ImageI). Is there something prepared?

    If you are using LV 7.1, there is a property node that let you define the size of the image display.

  • Using parental controls to log embedded video

    Is there any way to set up the parental controls to log the videos watched in an embedded video player on a web page? Youtube will show suggested content after a video is watched which can ultimately lead to content that I would want to monitor. Is there any way to do with with the existing parental controls?

    Okay.  Then your problem is just what you wrote: parental controls won't properly log out an account unless the user is there to handle onscreen dialogs.  Sorry, I have no fix.
    Another problem related to this is that OS X can't log into one shared asset as two different users at the same time, so it can't log the second user in properly.  Sorry, but there's no fix for that either.  It's on the buglist, but it has been for some time.

  • Delay in playing embedded video on page load – DPS

    Hi
    I've created some DPS pages with embedded video content that plays on page load but there is a slight delay causing the page below to be exposed which in turn creates a jump between the underlying page and the loading video.
    The video should load, play then disappear revealing the native InDesign page which also is a crisp version of the last frame of the video that has ended.
    I don't use a poster image because it renders at a low resolution and is not as crisp as the vector based text below in the native InDesign page.
    The page below is what is shown once the video has finished and closed down.
    This delay causes a glitch which ruins the fluidity of an otherwise nice looking page.
    I'm trying to re-create something along the same lines as the "Martha Stewart Living magazine" video front cover which is seamless and very slick.
    Do you know how I can achieve this without the slow loading vid and help make the effect smoother.
    Thank you in advance, I look forward to your reply.

    From your description it sounds like you are trying to trigger auto-play using Media panel. For DPS you need to set the behaviour in the Folio Overlays panel. Click on the video, open the Folio Overlay panel, and check the Auto-play setting. If you are doing this as a cover you probably also want to enable "do not allow pause".

  • Size limits for embedding video in Dreamweaver?

    I have a .wmv file. I need to make it viewable in a website. Can someone tell me what the target size should be for the file? The 11-minute .wmv file handed me is almost 700 MB. Something tells me that is too large. Is there a size I should get it down to? Thanks

    Hi Paul,
    no worries because of the size. If you can embed the video as an flv your visitors will decide ot themselves whether they want to watch the whole video or use fast-forward, because there they can use this control panel.
    If you upload your movie to a Video Sharing site like YouTube you wouldn't have some problems with video's size. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YouTube (> "Uploading").
    On the other hand you could try Adobe Widget Browser where you will find the "youtube-player":

  • Embedding video in cfm page

    I am trying to embed a video in a cfm page.  The FORM page before is where they can link the video URL and the preview page is where they can view the video (and other information) before it get submitted and saved in the database.
    on the FORM page I have the following code:  (there's much more code, but this is the coding that's related to what I am trying to do.
    <cfset #session.video# = #video#>
        <cfif (#video# is "") or (#left (sound, 7)# is not "http://")>
        <cfset #video# = "http://#video#">
      </cfif>
      <input name="video" type="text" size=43 maxlength=250 value="#video#"><br>
    Someone types in the url of the video (IE a youtube video or something similar)
    ON THE ITEM PREVIEW PAGE. I have the related coding
            <!--- define videoURL --->
        <cfif Left(session.video, 9) IS "http://ww">
          <cfset isVideo = "TRUE">
          <cfset videoURL = Trim(session.video)>
        <cfelse>
          <cfset isVideo = "FALSE">
        </cfif>
    <cfif isVideo>
                  <cfoutput><br><b>Video:</b><object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="#videoURL#"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="#videoURL#" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object></cfoutput>
                </cfif>
    Sooo what's suppose to happen is that you see a preview of the video, but nothing shows up
    The source code SHOWS the above information with the correct value of the video, but it doesn't show the player, etc.
    Not sure what i am doing wrong.
    it worked once, but I am not sure what I did or why it's not working now.

    What happens when you strip the code down to the bear essentials and do something like
    <cfoutput>
    <object width="480" height="385">
    <param name="movie" value="#videoURL#"></param>
    <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param>
    <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param>
    <embed src="#videoURL#" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed>
    </object>
    </cfoutput>

  • Ibooks author, how do I get the standard book pages background into my document. I have published one book so far which does not display with a book pages background or options for font size.

    ibooks author, how do I get the standard book pages background into my document. I have published one book so far which does not display with a book pages background or options for font size.

    No on the book title, no problem there.
    The issue is: my book pages appear as on white paper, no background that resembles a open book and also no option to change fonts. The book was created in iBooks author, there was a problem going with the "Publish" menu route so I was instructed my Apple to "export" the file and submit that. I think that's the problem after reading that iBooks author is a hybrid epub file.
    Thanks for getting back to me.

  • How can i control a video embedded in pdf while viewing in adobe digital edition. is it possible?

    I have a pdf file of 10 pages - in 2nd page of pdf there is video, I can control this video (play, pause, stop etc.) in Adobe Acrobat 9, but when we are opening this pdf in Adobe Digital Edition - Controls goes Hidden,  and we are not able to control the video. Is there any way to control the vedio?

    Hi,
    It should be checking the Course on basis of the User Access i.e. whether the slides have been viewed fully or not as well as if there is a quiz has the user successfully completed it or not. So, in case of a video only slide views would be checked and passing criteria will depend on it

  • Display size 60gb video

    hi guys,
    i have a question about the display size of the 60gb video ipod. I just notice that there is a black outline around the actual display. I'm not talking about the screen size, but the actual picture that is being displayed. It does not completely cover the screen. so the actual display is smaller than the screen size. Is this normal? I have updated mine with the 1.2 firmware. I don't remember before the update. is it because of the update? thanx

    thanks for the fast reply.
    ok the black outline is very small. and it did this to all of the display, video, pictures, main menu, etc.
    After looking at it again with display and nothing on (black screen) I think it's normal, because when its on blank screen i can see the outline of the actual display.
    thanks

  • On Page Slider of Embedded Videos

    I wanted to make a single page that stayed the same but in the middle had a video embedded but I wanted to add left and right arrows to slide between embedded videos on that page. This would allow my homepage to have all the videos cleanly accessible without reloading the entire page just sliding between. Is this possible? Could I create a page that's long and has all the videos then embed that page onto the main page? How's this possible? Thank you!

    Hi
    You can try compositions , where insert the video in target and use triggers as thumbnails for more videos . User can click on the triggers to change the video.
    Also you can use next and previous buttons which would change the target on selection.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit
