Controls aren't loaded

I have a Flex application that has been working properly
using Eclipse with Flex plugins. Recently I switched Standalone
Flex Builder and been experienced this strange behavior. Most
screens in my application are still loaded properly except a couple
screens loaded with only text, all controls (buttons, combo
boxes...) are missing. I tried uninstalled and reinstalled Flash
Player 9 and it worked for a day then broke again, always the same
screens. I tried stepping through the initialize code to check for
errors or warnings but nothing suspicious showed. Has anyone had
this problem before?

Your swf is looking for "ClearExternalNoVol.swf" but the
location is relative to the calling html page. That page seems to
be the top level of your server. So put the skin there and see if
it works. Otherwise change the skin location to :
/flash/video/ClearExternalNoVol.swf
instead of just
ClearExternalNoVol.swf

How can I control what images load on my project to save preload time and avoid loading all images, elements, divs not yet visible?
As the project grows in size the load time increases. How does one control not loading all images ,divs,elements etc. until they're
needed on the timeline? For example some sections are off and only become visible when recalled. My projects slowly grow in size so loading
all images , is counter productive . My other option would be to create separate htmls but that breaks the seamless user experience .

1. you might think of making DVD backups first prior to importing the photos into Aperture. "Store Files: In their current location" once in Aperture make low rez Previews, and export finished Project.
or,
2. bring in the photographs to hard drive first prior to importing the photos into Aperture. "Store Files: In their current location" once in Aperture make low rez Previews, and export finished Project.
the low rez Previews will stay in Aperture but the high quality Versions will be exported onto DVDs and gone from the hard drive (if you delete the originals).
another way would be to export small about 50-70 pixel wide high quality jpegs to a folder on your Desktop and import & keep these in Aperture Library as a reference. make metadata to show where the original Project DVDs are stored and DVD filing system used.

Mozilla Firefox and internet explorer aren't displaying some pages correctly, but google chrome is. Some pictures aren't loading correctly.

On yahoo and google, the little picture screenshots aren't loading. On youtube, the logo isn't loading.

You may want to try creating a new profile or disabling hardware acceleration.

Web pages aren't loading properly

Since installing Mavericks Web pages aren't loading properly. Neither with safari nor chrome. I've added the Open DNS to the DNS pane but makes no difference. Many pages don't download images, and look like the CSS hasn't loaded either. Have emptied browser caches too.

So, I changed my DNS servers to Google's (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) and all is well.

I will try to clarify your doubts.
In the output below both resources (proxy-connections and ssl-connections rate) are configured with a min percentage of resources (column Min), while 'Max' is set to equal to the min.

Most columns are self explanatory, 'Current' is current usage, 'Peak' is the maximum value reached, and the most important counter to monitor 'Denied' represents the amount of packets denied/dropped due to exceeding the configured limits.
On the resources themselves, Proxy-connections is simply the amount of proxied connections, in other words all connections handled at layer 7 (SSL connections are proxied, as are any connections with layer 7 load balance policies, or inspection).
So in this particular case for the proxy-connections we see that Peak is equal to the Max allocated, and as we have denies we can conclude that you have surpassed the limits for this resource. We see there were 17872 connections dropped due to that.
ssl-connections rate should be read in the same manner, however all values for this resource are in bytes/s, except for Denied counter, that is simply the amount of packets that were dropped due to exceeding this resource.
For your particular tests you have allocated a min percentage and set max equal to min, this way you make sure that this context will not use any other additional resources.
If you had set the max to unlimited during resource allocation, ACE would be allowed to use additional resources on top of those guaranteed, if those resources were available.
This might sound a great idea, but resource planning on ACE should be done carefully to avoid any sort of oversubscription, specially if you have business critical contexts.

1) When a resource is utilized to its maximum limit, the ACE denies additional requests made by any context for that resource. In other words, the action is to Drop. ACE should in theory silently drop (No RST is sent back to the client). So unless we changed something on the code, this is what you should see.
To give more context, seeing resets with SSL connections is not necessarily synonym of drops. As it is usual to see them during normal transactions.
For instance Microsoft servers are usually ungracefully terminating SSL connections with RESET. Also when there is renegotiation during an SSL transaction you may see RESETS, but this will pass unnoticed for end users.
2) ACE will simply drop/ignore new connections when we reach the maximum amount of proxied connections for that context. Exisiting connections will continue there.
As ACE doesn't respond back, client would simply retransmit, and if he is lucky maybe in the next attempt he will be able to establish the connection.
To overcome the denies, you will definitely have to increase the resource allocation. This of course, assuming you are not reaching any physical limit of the box.
As mentioned setting max as unlimited might work for you, assuming there are a lot of unused resources on the box.
3) If a new connection comes in with a sticky value, that matches the sticky entry of a real server, which is already in MAXCONNS state, then both the ACE module/appliance should reject the connection and that sticky entry would be removed.
The client would at that point reestablish a new connection and ACE would associate a new sticky entry with the flow for a new RSERVER after the loadbalancing decision.

Solved. Uninstall iCloud Control Panel from Windows 8 machine (use Control Panel). Restart, reinstall iControl 2.0.

Pages aren't loading right and can't find answer in atricles.

For 2 days now every site I go to normally is loading weird. Things are piled up on top of each other, things dissappear, the things that aren't piled on each other is in blocks instead of pictures, icons, etc... and i have to reload all the time-pretty much as soon as I bring up any page on any site. It's getting tiring and frustrating. I've tried and tried to fix this and am having no luck. I've clicked on all the restore defaults I can find and it's just not doing it. I really don't want to get rid of Firefox cause for me this is the only thing I trust but honestly I'm thinking about it. Please help!!!

My web pages aren't loading when connected to the internet through Ethernet cable?

Yesterday my web pages stopped loading on Safari. I tried loading them on google chrome and had the same problem. I then deleted all saved web site data and reset Safari but this still didn't solve the problem. Finally I restarted with safe mode, where the web pages loaded, but slowly, however when I restarted normally the web pages still weren't loading or partially loading. To test whether this was my computer or the ethernet cable I was connected to, I connected to the wifi at my university, where the web pages loaded perfectly. Plus, when connected to the ethernet cable I could Skype, use Spotify etc., it is just the web pages that are causing a problem. Any suggestions how I can fix this? Thank you!

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the request of a stranger on a public message board. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed: Copy a line of text from this web page into the window of another application. Wait for the script to run. It usually takes a few minutes. Then paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page. The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. Details follow.

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Use Control File to load data in BW7.0

Hi All,
I have a requirement to load data in BW using control file. The development is done in in BW 7.0. In BW 3.5 there is an option of FILE IS ( Control File or Data File ). Please suggest how to simulate the same in BW 7.0

location is 'C' for Workstation and 'A' for Application Server
FS contains field seperator ',' in our case
RECCOUNT contain the Rec. Count
RECSIZE is the Max DB size of the a single row ( this can be evaluated by the Total DB Size of a single Line of the Target BW Structure as well ).

Why does Firefox 33.1.1 require a User Account Control dialog before loading?

I am unable to stop FF from requiring the User Account Control dialog box before it will load. I uninstalled and reinstalled a clean copy, which worked the first time, and then re-established the UAC dialog on subsequent starts. This is incredibly annoying. It has never happened before with FF. How do I stop this behavior? I will stop using the damn program if this can't be fixed.

Check that Firefox isn't set to run as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
* Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
* "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
If you can't make the changes then you need to start Windows Explorer as Administrator.

Videos on some websites aren't loading but my flash player is updated?

On some webistes like Facebook when I try to load a video it will just show a loading sign and it won't play. It works on Youtube though. I updated my flash player and some websites still aren't working.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Closed loop velocity control based on load cell force

Hello,
My application is for a drill, that drills into rocks of various densities for the purpose of collecting rock core samples.
My setup has 2 motors which get controlled, one spins the drill bit at a constant velocity, the other moves the drill mechanism along a Z axis.
For efficient cutting, it is desired to apply a constant force between the drill bit and the rock. I have a load cell which measures the force being exerted by the drill bit on the rock surface, and this force can be adjusted by changing the velocity of the Z axis. So I would like to employ closed loop control to adjust the Z axis velocity to maintain a constant force on the rock.
Platform: cRIO 9073, with NI 9505 & 9215 Modules, Labview 2010 Full with RT and FPGA modules.
The load cell is by Transducer Techniques, and I use their TMO-1 module to condition the signal, the output of which is attached to an input of the 9215 module, where 0-100 lbs equates to 0-8VDC.
The motors and encoders for the Drill and Z axis are connected directly to the 9505 modules.
Right now I am using a modified version the example found in ...\examples\CompactRIO\Module Specific\NI 9505\Velocity Control (closed loop)\Velocity Control (closed loop) - NI 9505.lvproj to accomplish velocity control of the motors.
My questions are:
1) Do I have the appropriate NI hardware/software for this task?
2) With my current hardware setup, what would be an appropriate way to control my Z axis velocity rate based on Analog feedback from the load cell?
3) Development time is a critical factor, so are there any toolkits etc that are easy to get started with that would drastically decrease my development time, or do I already have everything I need?

1. Your hardware and software look appropriate assuming the motors are compatible with the 9505s. You didn't mention the NI SoftMotion module in your software list which is something you will need.
2. There are a few ways of doing this. One method would be to have a force PID loop that would attempt to maintain a force setpoint by directly outputting values to your torque loop. In this case, the drill would essentially move as fast as it could while maintaining the force setpoint. Another option is to have the force loop output a velocity setpoint. You would then have a velocity PID loop that outputs torque values to the torque loop. By adding this additional velocity loop you could have control over your maximum and minimum velocities. There are likely other alternatives as well, but these are the first two that come to mind.
3. Unfortunately there are no shipping examples that close the loop on force feedback. My advice would be to start with the NI 9505 shipping example and adapt it to your needs. There are quite a few things you will want to change though. Do you know if you will need to use the trajectory generator to move the drill into position before starting the force control?
Assuming you don't need any trajectory generation, you can scrap the entire RT portion of the NI 9505 example and just create the necessary FPGA code. On the FPGA, you won't need the Spline or Synchronization code either because this information would no longer be coming from RT. You could take these out and replace the position loop with a force loop and possibly a velocity loop and your FPGA program would basically be finished. In fact the only real motion IP that you will need is for the encoders (assuming you want velocity control) and PID. Then you would need to create an RT VI that allows you to send down enable, disable, PID gains, and setpoints.
If you do need trajectory generation, you would want to keep most of the example code the way that it is, but then program in a 'Force Mode' that utilizes the force and velocity controly as described above. You could think of it as having two different routines programmed side by side.

How do I control transparency of loaded movie?

I have used a loader to play a swf, and I've managed to scale it like I want it - now I would like for it to fade in and out. How do i do that? Below is the as3 script I am using:

First set the alpha of the Loader to 0. Then use tweening code to manage the fading after the loading is complete. If you aren't familiar with actionscript tweening, you can decomplicate getting started by just using the built-in Tween class for starters (see the help docs). When you have a comfort level working with tweening code, or if you are familiar with installing new classes and utilizing them, then you might consider moving on to third party tweening classes such as TweenMax/Lite... reportedly much better performing classes than the Tween class.
