Convert a Lead toOpportunity

Convert a Lead toOpportunity

Hello,
I just mapped the Owner of the Lead with the Approver and it worked.
But one thing I am not sure, previously when Approver field was not mapped with any field, why it was throwing an excpetion, neither it is a mandatory field.

  • Converting Non-Leading Ledger to Leading ledger...

    Hi All
Please let me know if there is a possibilty to convert a non-leading ledger to a leading ledger?
If yes, please let me know the conversion process.
    Regards
    Kavitha

    Hi Kavitha,
    Follow the path
SPRO --> IMG --> Finacial Accouting(New) --> Financial Accounting Global settings --> Ledgers --> Define Ledgers for General Ledger accounting
In Change view: Define ledgers for general ledger accounting: Overview screen, you can make the non leading ledger as leading ledger. But at a time, you can make only one ledger as a leading ledger. you can't maintain two leading ledgers simultaneously.
But it is not a good practice to make a non leading ledger as a leading ledger. But instead you can use ledger group concept, in which you can make one non leading ledger as reporting ledger..
    Hope this will help you...

  • Access Denied while converting lead

For Sales & Mktg role done all the necessary settings in access profile ,Role & previleges still it gives an access denied message while converting the lead to opportunity
    Getting the message
    SBL-DAT--00542
    Please guide

Make sure the record type access settings for the user role must
have the Has Access and Can Create check boxes selected for the Account, Opportunity, Lead, and Contact
record types. However, the correct settings are as follows:
    • The Has Access check box must be selected for the Lead record type in all cases of lead conversion.
    • The Has Access and Can Create check boxes must be selected for the Activity record type in all cases of
    lead conversion.
    • To convert a lead using an existing account, the Has Access check box must be selected for the Account
    record type.
    • To convert a lead to a new account, the Has Access and Can Create check boxes must be selected for the
    Account record type.
    • To convert a lead using an existing contact, the Has Access check box must be selected for the Contact
    record type.
    • To convert a lead to a new contact, the Has Access and Can Create check boxes must be selected for the
    Contact record type.
    • To convert a lead to an opportunity, the Has Access and Can Create check boxes must be selected for the

  • Convert Lead to Opportunity - ZMSPick_0 Required Field.

I'm trying to convert a lead (manually created) to an opportunity and am recieving a ZMSPick_0 Required Field. How do I determine which fleld ZMSPick_0 is referring to?
I did a search on the knowledge base for this field name with no luck.

Hi, Going by the name it could be one of the picklist fields which is set as mandatory. So you can check for the same to fix the issue

  • Can you create a different default Opportunity name for Lead conversion?

We're using CRMOD for a high-volume call center and we end up with leads with the same name. According to the online help, "The First Name and Last Name for the lead appear in the Opportunity Name field by default." That's working correctly, but it would make our lives easier if it did something different, like maybe First Name, Last Name, and ZIP code, or First Name, Last Name, and a Timestamp. Is there a way to do that? I realize the users could do something manually, but then I get all the associated issues.

I'm not quite sure how that would work. I attempted this in staging using [<AccountName>]+" "+[<AccountLocation>], and I checked the Post Default box. When I go to convert a Lead, it still defaults to First Name and Last Name on the Convert Lead screen.

  • Email Notification in lead center

    Hi,
I have an issue with email notificaiton in Lead Center of Telesales.
Once the lead is converted into qualified, Sales channel and Lead rank will be populated automatically and email notification workflow will be
triggered and email is sent to lead owner.
But in our case, we created lead with manual selection of Sales Channel and converting the lead to qualified. At this point email notification workflow is not triggering.
Not able to understand the Sales Channel role in triggering the email notification workflow.
    Sateesh.

Once the lead is converted into qualified, Sales channel and Lead rank will be populated automatically and email notification workflow will be triggered and email is sent to lead owner.
Can I understand if the above functionality is a customization or available out of the box?
    Thanks,

  • Analysis of Lead by subsequent documents (activities and opportunities)

    Hi all,
I'm trying to define on BW a way to create some content that displays the number of subsequent documents that are created from a lead.
Explaining, when a lead is created, some activities are made (phone calls, e-mails, etc) and also some opportunities are created and the idea is to have a report with this.
Is there any standard content to display this or is it necessary some extra development?
    Thanks

    Hi Venky,
Yes, the initial thought here is to use a multi-picklist; but unfortunately I don't think the assignment manager supports multi-picklists.
And yes, I would like to make it accessible to multiple people, not only one.
Basically, the process goes something like the following:-
    1) Marketing obtains lead and enters into the system
    2) Lead is channeled to a product manager
    3) Product manager reassigns the lead to a salesperson
    4) Salesperson converts the lead into an an opportunity - Product Manager should be able to view this opportunity
My question here is would the product manager still gain access to the lead once it is reassigned (salesperson is not reporting to the product manager in anyway)? And how can the product manager be able to view all opportunities which have the product he\she is in charge of?
My initial thought here is that we have to fall back on using Books?
    Thanks.

  • Best practise for storing lead information

    Hi all
I'm running a qualification process by using a lead assessment script. Via this script our reps ask the potential customer 8 questions and a score is calculated.
Now the reps will begin the process of converting the leads into opportunities - in a prioritized order based on the assessment script score.
Then information which is entered in the assessment script is stored in 8 fields in the lead record and is relevant to a single department in a hospital (fx anesthesia). This information is very valuable to us in the future - because it tells us a lot about the leads potential for buying other products.
Now I want to make sure that this information is passed on in the most appropriate way when leads are converted to opportunities, contacts and accounts. My first thought was to create the 8 new fields in the opportunity record type and contact record type and map the lead conversion to these fields. By second thought this would provide me with a lot of redundant data. Also the data will be updated regularly - which will cause problems with that solution.
Another option is to display the 8 lead fields as related information on the opportunity and contact record detail page. Or I could pass over the data to the contact record and tell the reps that this is where it should be updated in the future.
I'm pretty new to OnDemand so I might not be on the right track here!? Any help will be very much appreciated :-)
    Regards,
    Allan

Allan, once the lead is converted the lead record (with your 8 fields) is available as a related record under the opportunity and contact records. This allows you to make any updates to these fields without having to do it multiple times if you were to map them during lead conversion.

  • Workflow for Particular Role(Only) has to qualify the lead.

    Hi all,
The lead(s) has to be qualified by only one role, and lead(s) should be converted with the other role. How this can be done.
    For example.
Here "sales & Marketing Manager" has to qualify the lead and no permission to convert.
Here "admin" has to convert the lead into account and opportunity.
I tried with using lookup function, not suceeded. need help.
    Regards,
    Ratan

You could try putting validation on the Lead Status field based on a user's role. E.g.
    IF(UserValue('<Role>') <> 'Sales Manager' AND PRE('<Status>') <>'Qualified' and [Status] = 'Qualified' THEN "ERROR", '')
The syntax above is far from correct but hopefully enough for you to have a play. The PRE condition here is used to make sure someone is actually modifying a Lead which wasn't previously Qualified otherwise any amendments to existing qualified leads would throw errors. Let me know how you get on, personally I don't like the above as it's likely to cause issues.
    Thanks

  • Access Denied error when copying Lead conversion layout

    Hi..
I wanted to mark as default the following:
    -Create new account.
    -Create new contact
    -Create new opportunity
    when converting a lead.
For this porpuse I tried to copy the "Standard Lead Conversion Layout" and take out the other options. In the first step I marked "use this as the default layout" but when saving it during step 3 I got and access denied message.
Is there a way to already mark these 3 options when converting a lead? should I contact customer care?
    Many thanks in advance
    JC

I have opened a service request and "miraculously" it works now!
    Thanks!

  • How to tie an opportunity back to a lead

    Hi,
We track our marketing success from leads generated that are passed to the sales team who creates opportunities. We have a couple of instances where the sales rep will create a new opportunity rather than convert the existing lead. Is there a way to tie the now existing opportunity back to the lead?
    Thanks for your help!
    Brent

Brent, at this time there is no way to associate an extisting opportunity back to a lead. The "Associated Opportunity" on a lead is read only and is filled in if you convert the lead to a opportunity.

  • Inches as unit of measure causes leading problems

In Freehand MX 11.0.2 for Windows (using winxp sp2), I cannot

So it happens with inches too.
Kevin (adplus91) asked the same question with the title
    "Leading measurements changing".
    My reply was:
Only solution is to use Points as measurement units. I've
made keyboard shortcuts for changing between
millimeters and points. Changing units, however, reset grid
value to 6 points or 5mm.
This is a bug Macromedia probably made when they fixed a
conversion bug in Objects palette. Also Macromedia
claimed that this is WinXP only problem but it happens in Win
    2000 as well.
