I have create one PRT material, also I create the view of Production Resources/Tools. Afterward , I use T_code 'MMAM' to change Material Type 'FHMI' to 'HALB', But system prompt 'Material is a production resource/tool; not defined by new material type.' .
Is there any IMGs I need to setting? Please Help me ,How Solve it?
  Thanks a lot.
Dana

Hello,
Stocks already exist in Perticular plants. However, these
plants
have different quantity/value updating, resulting in different
account determination.
Stocks already exist at plant level.
One more: FHMI Material type is having the View- production resource/tool,
These material types material are account assigned, without account assigned you should not create PO for these materials.
And ROH is  does not have -" production resource/tool," this view...
It is not possible to allow you change the materail type. Check in OMS2.
IF you realy want to change then For temparary you should select the View for ROH in OMS2 and make as it is..(this is not recommended)

  • Material Type FHMI

    Dear All,
Please tell me something about material type PRT (FHMI).
Whether it is consumeable or not when configured in BOM.
    Pls have a comment.

    Production resources/tools (FHMI)
Production resources/tools are procured externally and used in production or plant maintenance. A material master record of this material type can contain purchasing data, but not sales data. It is managed on a quantity basis.

  • Material type FHMI(product resource/tools)

    hello gurus,
can u tell me why materials under material group FHMI  production resource / tools are only managed on quantity basis

    Dear Raghu,
Production Resources/Tools (FHMI) are unlike machines and fixed assets, production resources and tools (PRTs) are movable (not stationary) operating resources that are required to perform an activity and can be used repeatedly.
For example, PRTs include documents, engineering drawings, jigs and fixtures, and
    measurement instruments.

  • Modifying standard material type configuration provided by SAP

I was recently involved in a discussion regarding whether or not to modify sap provided material types (e.g. FERT)
My position was that SAP provided material type configuration should not be modified, instead a z-version of the standard material type should be copied over to a z-version or a y-version (FERT copied as ZFRT), configurations changes made the z-version. My position was based on the following considerations:-
    Reference to the original
Possible implication at the time of future releases or upgrades - In Some of my previous projects this was a reason why the standard material type configurations were never touched
Hence I am curious to know if there a more current or correct position on this topic.

    Hi Jose,
You are absolutely correct that standard material type should not be changed as you can always reference to the original if you want to create a new material type by copying the old ones. I too have seen ZFRT and FERT.
I go by creating a Z one, as I have always the option to reference the original Material Type. As the above members have already replied the same.
It is very easy to check the material type like FERT, ROH etc. However, say you have changed the settings for standard material type like FHMI, LEIH, VERP etc and you want to create a new material type by referencing any of the above, you will need to check client 000 (as referred by Jurgen) to check what Pricing control it have S or V. What Item Category is in original. What selection of views are there in original etc. you always have a better edge to check from the originals if you do not change them.

  • Mandatory fields With reference to Material types

    Dear Gurus,
I need to make few fields as mandatory with reference to material types while creation of the material master data.
    For example:
For Semi finished and Finished Schedule margin key is required(mandatory)
For Raw Materials Schedule margin key is optional.

    Hi
find  following step to make field mandatory for material type
Follow the stpes for making field as optional, required entry
1 click the tab ,(Which is u want to be Required entry )and get the field name by pressing F1 key and then
2.Go to T.Code: OMSR and enter that field name and get Selection Group
once you get selection group and field name
3 Use t.Code: OMS2 and click your material type and in next screen check Field reference ( you have assigned for material type; example :;For ROH material type the Field reference is ROH

    Hi,
    Check whether this is helpfull,
Following are the pre-requisites for changing a Material type :
    1. No PR , PO should exist
2 No Stock should exist .
    OR
    1. Account Category refernce assigned for both the material type should be same so tht the accounting determination wrt to material type is not effected .
    Hoep that was helpfull..
    Thanks & regards

  • Material type creation

    Dear sir,
ROH  material type copy in my company material type, without copy  ROH material type using  possible

    HI
Yes,  without copy ROH material type you can create your own material type, but you have to do lot of assignment for the new material type, normally in STD.sap whenever you are creating any configuration settings, sap recommends to copy from the std. one.
After that based on your business requirement you can change the std.settings.
    Thanks

  • PR release procedure for material types

    Hi all,
I have a question, I created new release procedure for combination :
    1. NB pur.requsition, purchasing group + material type (let sey roh.. etc)
    2. YNB pur.requsition, purchasing groups + material type (ZSTE-001, ZSTE-002, ZSTE-003).
    - 3 characteristcs for pur.groups, doc.type and material type.
    - 1 class
    - 2 release groups (E1 and P1)
    - For release group P1, In rel.strategy in classification I entered values for pur. requisition (NB), purchasing groups (001,002, 003 ect) and material types (ZUSL-001.. ect)
    - For release group E1, in rel. strategy in classification entered values
values for pur. requisition (YNB), purchasing groups (001,002, 003 ect) and material types (ZSTE-001, ZSTE-002, ZSTE-003)
So, problem is that if I enter pur.requisition YNB and material type ZSTE-001, needs release; if I add item with material type ZUSL-001, there is no release.
How can I restrict the values so that is giving error if by mistake is entered between material types ZSTE-001, ZSTE-002, ZSTE-003 material type ZUSL-001 in document type YNB, which is not allowed to be entered?
    Thanks in advance,
    Anchi

    Hello
In PR you can set up this release strategy without classification release strategy.
w/o classification strategy you can define the release line item wise. so you can give diiff materual group you can enter with line item wise.

  • Free goods with material type = ROH

    Hello,
i would like to give free-goods for a particular finished goods sales.
the free-goods' material type is equal to ROH.
when i maintain the free goods from VBN1, system tells me that "xxx Material  is not defined for sales org xxxx with dist. channel xxx".
the pb is for material type ROH, i can't select sales view,
is there any work around except
      1. changing material type
      2. customizing and add view for ROH
    Thanks

    hi,
You have to extend the ROH material to the sales area of fineshed products
Goto to mm01 & extended teh material
    then try with VBN1

  • VL10B delivery for material type ROH

    Hi
We have a scenario in which we are able to create STO type UB for material type ROH (Raw Material)
but when we create delivery with TCode VL10B it gets created but with no line items and no error messages.
The Same scenario works for material type FERT (Finished Product)
Is there any setting that i am missing for doing delivery with reference to STO via  Tcode VL10b for material type ROH.
the sales views are already extended for ROH material.
    Please guide.
    Thanks
    Nimit

    Hi,
Check if you have created the materials ROH in the organizational levels for SD (ie: if there are entries in table MVKE).
    I hope this helps you

  • Input tax 0 for material type ROH

    MM Experts,
My client is asking that for material type ROH, input tax always zero which cannot be changed even by purchaser while making purchase order.
Did anybody have worked on similar requirement. Pl. let me know what are the possibilities are there to accomplish the said requirement.
    Waiting for your quick response.
    Thanks.
    Vijay

maintain a tax code with FI help having value = 0 (i think that is done via FTXP)
do you have purchase inforecord for all the materials having mat type = ROH, if yes then maintain tax code with zero value here and it will be default in PO
if not using info record check below thread
Default Tax Indicator in PO line item for a Material
Also to make tax code field un editable while in ME21N (once it is defaulted based on above rules) you can use define screen layout at document level setting in SPRO for PO. SPROmm-purchasing-PO-- define screen layout at document level -select ME21NGR/IR control-make tax code as display

  • Material type ROh,ERSA & HIBE to be configured as per split valuation

Material type ROh,ERSA & HIBE to be configured as per split valuation

you can very well do Split valuation for material types ROH,ERSA & HIBE .  Follow Txn OMWC and proceed for the configuration for Global types/valuation categories , in Global category assign the Account category reference as required separately for each material type.

  • Different material types

Could you please explain/ help with the below queries.. with some practical example, if possible.... differehnce between FHMI (production resources/tools) and HIBE (operating supplies) and ROH (raw materials)?
Actually for all above mentioned types.. it is written as procured externally for processing.... so i have doubts why three diff material types as all are procured for same purposes.... like use for production...
    Regards,
    Krupesh Kothari.

    Hi ,
    FHMI (production resources/tools)
Production resources/tools are procured externally and used in the manufacture of products. A material master record of this material type can contain purchasing data, but no sales data. It is managed on a quantity basis. Examples of production resources/tools are apparatus, equipment, and measuring and testing devices.
    HIBE (operating supplies)
Operating supplies are procured externally and required for the manufacture of other products. A material master record of this material type can contain purchasing data but no sales data.
    ROH (raw materials)
Raw materials are always procured externally and then processed. Since raw materials cannot be sold, a material master record of this material type contains no sales data.
