I have recorded some video using adobe captivate and created f4v output. i have the fps set to 30. It is about 20 minutes long. When i use encoder to transform it to flv the video plays twice as fast. It seems to think the source file is 60 fps

I have tried that but it still plays twice as fast.
File specs Time code default base 30.
8 bits per channel
sample rate 48.000 kHz
computer specs:
3Ghz intel core i7
8GB 1600mgz dd3
intel hd graphics 4000 768mb

Music Playing Twice as Fast and a Crackling Noise

When I first play music on itunes, there weren't any problems at all. Once my CPU usage goes up (like when i play a game) the music plays twice as fast and theres a crackling every second (1 second music then 1 second crackling noise ). Once I lower my cpu usage, the music returns back to normal.
I didnt have this problem with the previous version of itunes though.

I am having precisely the same problem and also did not experience this with the last version of iTunes. As opposed to Jagged_Link, however, I am always getting this problem. I have a very fast dual core computer Athlon 64 x2 4400 with 4 GBs of Ram so I don't think that a performace issue is the source of this problem, but I do have many other applications running at the same time (azureus, firefox, beyondTV). This was never an issue with the old version and I think that the problem might have to do with the gapless playback analytics (a problem with the process, perhaps). I will try eliminating all apps other than iTunes to see if there is a change.
By the way, a repair of iTunes, using the original installation file, did not change my situation. I only use MP3s (no AAC) and it be helpful if the other posters can provide this info as well, so that the problem can be identified better.
I hope we can find the problem and get it fixed!

Converted mp4 to flv plays really fast

I converted a 256MB mp4 video to flv using ame. I lowered the bit rate a little bit as our users are mostly on dsl. This is for use in a adobe connect session. Now in adobe media player, the video is greatly speeded up playing in about 5 seconds.
What can I do? Thank you for any assistance, Mary

It turns out this problem only occurs on one Mac computer,
out of all the 5 machines I'm testing on. Unfortunately, my main

Converting swf to flv to take advantage of streaming

The problem
My captivate 6 SWF is set to start playing after 1% download is achieved. You can see the movie at www.gmatfix.com/swf/app_videointro.swf. My site uses the standard ActionScript3 Loader class to load the SWF, but in so doing, the entire file gets loaded before it starts playing, regardless of the preloader percentage I set. If you clear your cache and go to http://www.gmatfix.com/#/app/videointro, you will notice that there is a significantly longer delay before the file is available for playing. I would like to avoid this delay.
Failed Solution
I would like to convert the SWF to an FLV file since these (I believe) can be played in embedded flash content even while they are still being downloaded. I removed the only interaction from the SWF (a couple of buttons on the last slide), and the advanced interactions panel (F9) in Captivate shows no interaction on any slide. I then tried to follow the instructions from Adobe on how to get Captivate output to FLV by publishing the project as F4V and using Adobe Media Encoder to convert F4V to FLV. However, in Media publishing options I don't see the F4V media type; only EXE, APP, and MP4. I tried dropping the SWF directly into Adobe Media Encoder, but the SWF is not compatible with that application.
What is the best way to convert an SWF (contains no interactions besides the playbar) to FLV?

Do you have Flash handy and are you comfortable using it? If
so, you might try bringing the Captivate into Flash and pumping out
the .FLV from there.

F4v to FLV: How to make playback speed match

Hello,
I output a F4V from Adobe Captivate 5 on a Mac. The audio and video sync is fine when I play the F4V in the Adobe Media Player. Then I use Adobe Media Encoder CS5 to convert the F4V to FLV. I've used various FLV outputs, but no matter what I use the audio and video do not sync. Any suggestions?
My goal is to convert the FLV to ogg format.

I found the solution. The Captivate file I was provided should have been output to F4V with a fixed frame rate.

Hi,
First up why is there no forum for Adobe Media Encoder CS4?
My issue is whith converting MP4 to flv.
The video is added to the que.
Problem is no video picture is shown, during the convert process.
When I go into setting and move the play head along the timeline no video is shown.
The video was generated using Apple's HD iMovie.
All setting are on default.
Can someone please help.
Why is source video has no picture. If I do encode to flv I just get the audion

well im guessing or atleast hoping you 3 who posted on here got it sorted out by now but thought id post on here to help anybody who has the same problem in the future.i had the same problem and after searching a few different forums i found that mp4's are a bit troublesome when converting them.apparently a good way to get around it is opening the mp4 in quicktimepro and then exporting it as an flv.i dont know if its that simple but i dont have quicktimepro anyway so i couldnt do it.
but here is what i did- i uploaded my video to youtube.
then using keepvid.com i downloaded it from youtube as an flv file.(you have the choice of a few different file types)
now it works in my flash perfectly.
hope it helps somebody and if anybody knows an easier way (there must be one) please let me know

I was hoping for a quick way to insert H.264 HD video into
web pages with CS4 Dreamweaver, but apparently the Insert -->
Media command only recognizes FLV file types, not the F4V files
produced by Adobe Media Encoder from H.264 HD video.
Others on the Internet are saying to rename the .F4V to .FLV.
Indeed, Dreamweaver will then allow you to insert the video with
Insert --> Media. Is this OK?
Does anyone know a fast way to insert F4V's into Dreamweaver
pages? One nice feature of the Dreamweaver insert of regular FLV's
is it keeps track of which folder you put the video in and
correctly changes the relative file paths when you upload to a web
server. When you insert a SWF & Video created with Flash,
there's usually headaches with the file paths being off unless you
put all the files in the same folder as the HTML page calling them,
which isn't practical for large sites with many videos. Or edit all
the files, a bigger pain.

That's easily solved by using ROOT RELATIVE links to the SWF
and Video
rather than document relative ones.

H.264 end loaded MOOV ATOM in f4v or flv playback

I'd like to know that if I wrap H.264 video that has the MOOV ATOM located at the end inside an F4V or FLV file, can playback start before the MOOV ATOM is loaded (ie. before the file is completely read)?
I've been trying for several months to get someone to MOOV the ATOM to the front so playback of our videos will start playing sooner. I'd like to confirm/unconfirm this question.
Also, the videos are continually generated by our embedded system, so running an after-the-fact app. is not under consideration.

Well, unfortunately Flash was the universal format, and then Steve Jobs decided that he did not like Adobe. As most browsers on Earth were FLV playback enabled and if not, were only a quick, free download away. Now, it seems that Apple's devices will only work with flavors of MOV. One can still download and install Apple's QT Player (though several recent versions did not work well with Adobe programs - Steve Jobs sabotage?).
Instead of coming together on universal formats/CODEC's, it seems that many wish to fragment the market to support just their products. One is at the mercy of these hardware and software companies. Producers probably should now do several versions of everything, if they wish to cover all bases. Someone will have to download and install something.

Embedded FLV plays slow

I've got a couple of FLVs that I've embedded in my Flash
movie. I've embedded them rather than having them stream because
I'm essentially using them as RollOver effects so I need them to
play INSTANTLY when you rollover something. Anyway... The issue is
that they play fine when I preview my SWF in Flash, but once the
SWF is embedded in a webpage and I view that page in IE or Firefox
(I'm on WinXP) the FLVs play a little bit slower than they should.
It's a slight slo-mo effect that I don't want! Is this a known
issue? Should I just try to stream them off of the server rather
than embed them? I assume there would be a lag and the FLVs
wouldn't start playing instantly when I tell them to.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Solution...
For whatever reason, SWFs don't play as fast in browsers.
Period. This is probably old news to most of you. And I, too, have
read this for years. This is just the first time that it's really
caused any sort of issue. I created a FPS testing module that gives
an on-screen display of the actual FPS of the SWF and then after
250 frames gives you the average FPS for those 250 frames. The SWF
is set to play at 50fps. When I test in Flash, I get just under
48fps for the actual frame rate. When I preview in an HTML doc in
Firefox, I get around 40-42fps. In IE7, 32-33fps. This is on a
WinXP machine with an Athlon XP 2500+ cpu. The thing is, it's not
even stressing the CPU when I do this test. The browsers just won't
"let 'er fly"!

(Now that I have a few tabs open in Firefox, it's running a
