Coordinates on the form
I am a newbie to Java and I messing around trying to learn stuff. I am trying to make a small program that has one string message and it displays the coordinates of the form as you move the mouse but my code will not work, the message just stays at the default coordinates. Someone help. Here is my code:
import java.awt.*;
import java.awt.event.*;
import javax.swing.*;
public class HelloJava2
public static void main( String[] args ) {
JFrame frame = new JFrame ( "Hello Java2" );
frame.getContentPane().add( new HelloComponent2( ) );
frame.setDefaultCloseOperation( JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE );
frame.setSize( 300, 300 );
frame.setVisible( true );
class HelloComponent2 extends JComponent
implements MouseMotionListener
String theMessage;
int messageX = 125, messageY = 95;
public void paintComponent( Graphics g ) {
g.drawString( messageX + "," + messageY, 125, 95 );
public void mouseDragged( MouseEvent e ) {}
public void mouseMoved(MouseEvent e) {
messageX = e.getX();
messageY = e.getY();
repaint();
}
The coordinatesdon't change because there is no MouseMotionListener. So you need to add one in a contructor for your HelloComponent2 class:
public HelloComponent2() {
addMouseMotionListener(this);
}

Hi
I have the co-ordiantes for a 3 dimensional surface and I want to plot it using labview. Can some one help me & tell me the way how to feed in the co-ordinates in the 3d surface?There are a number of different situations. You should explain how your data are structured. Try to post a sample of your file, and we'll see how we can help you.

Floating Button Panel on the form
Hi,
I want to design a FLOATING Panel for the action buttons on the form. So if i scroll form up or down ,The panel should float on different pages but at the bottom of the page.
I am designing above action buttons: Panel so that user sees these functionalities on every page at the bottom where he scrolls.
Please let me know your ideas how do i do it.
Please let me knw if I could explain my requirement clearly.
Regards
SunilOK. I have a working example that you can find here:
http://www.fieldeffecttechnologies.com/AdobeForums/FloatingSubform.pdf
Here is the code I put in the docReady event of the Main subform (any object will do):
global.timer = app.setInterval(
"var curView = eval(this.viewState.toSource());"+
"yPos=curView.pageViewY>=0 ? (curView.pageViewY+4)*.655/curView.pageViewZoom:0;"+
"xfa.form.form1.pageSet.Page1.all.item(curView.pageViewPageNum).Buttons.y = yPos+\"pt\";",1000);//Change the refresh rate here (in milliseconds)
Every second the above code determines where the top of the form view is and based on the zoom, it determines the y coordinate for the 'floating' object to move. The .655 constant is what I've determined to be the relationship between the pageViewY's units and point units.
The object that this code is moving is a subform with buttons that is on masterpage Page1.
This particular code keeps the buttons at the top. It would take a little while longer to keep them at the bottom, since you'd really have to account for zoom and the page size. Probably getting the media box quads relative to the application window (haven't looked too far into it).
Also, there is a stop button to stop the timer with the same code in the docClose event of the Main subform:
app.clearInterval(global.timer);
delete global.timer;
Of course the annoying part is having the hourglass appear every once and awhile but unless the event model is updated in future releases to include scrolling, this is how it has to be done.
Hope this helps you and others. I had fun figuring it out.

Unable to edit the forms in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and adobe pdf reader.
Hai ,
i am unable to edit pdf forms . on clicking on the form text field error message comes as "font capture" message heading and content as
"C:\Windows\system32/ATMLIB.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support."
if pressed ok . aplication get closed
i reinstalled all aplication with old versions but sill have the same error .please give a solution . thank you.thank you for the suggestion, but I do not have a "Send Email" or "Submit" button available in my version. I have "Attach to email" option which automatically opens a new message in MS outlook (which I did not set up, it just started doing so automatically) without any further dialogue boxes or options.
Also, this is only for regular PDF files, not forms. -
Hi everyone,
While opening a form in one of the Oracle Retail applications the error:
FRM:41067-Cannot find Menu Item:Invalid ID
is thrown. However when we click OK, the error goes off and system lets us to continue with using the form.
On another form, the following 3 errors are thrown as soon as we open it:
FRM:41091-Cannot find LOV:Invalid ID
FRM:41828-LOV does not exist
FRM:40738-Argument 1 to builtin SET_LOV_COLUMN_PROPERTY cannot be null.
Again this error goes off once we click OK.
This error is not happening on the base application and is happening only on the customer environment. I checked Oracle Retail specific tables but everything looks fine. Is there any environment specific parameters that could cause this error? Please advice.
Regards,
Preeti.Preeti,
The only thing I can think of is that your customer does not have the correct version of the Form that is giving the error. Have your customer bring up the Forms Information screen (sorry, I don't recall the key stroke for this) and have them scroll to the Version section. Then compare this with your form that works. I am guessing that the versions are not the same.
If they are the same, then you might be dealing with a setup issue. You might want to ask your question in the General EBS Discussion forum. I thought Oracle had a forum for their Retail product, but I couldn't find it. This forum would be the next best.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

How to Install the Forms and Reports 6i in Ubuntu 6.06 LTS
Dear All,
I need to install Forms and Reports 6i in Ubuntu 6.06 LTS.
I had downloaded the d2k6irelease2.tar also and extracted the tar file.
I don't know how to start up with the installation further., Is there any document available for the installation process inubuntu.. or what are the steps that i need to follow to make it work..?
Many thanks in advance...Hi,
Here's the Forms and Reports Services Deployment Guide for OAS 10g 10.1.2:
http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_11/web.1012/b14032/toc.htm
You will need to modify your default.env to point to the directory where your .fmx is located and formsweb.cfg to run the specific form, e.g. foo.fmx (default is test.fmx).

Im trying to build user expiration into my registration form, but I cant get the form to send back the date registering.
in my data base i have tried every thing from timestamp to datetime. I can get a timestamp but it is not functioning with the expiration?just have a look at my tutorial Login tables: installation & configuration where the required column attributes are explained and where you can obtain a fully functional SQL dump for a typical ADDT "login" and (optionally) "login_stats" table.
BTW, "expiration" will have to be an "int" column.
Cheers,

Suppose there is form in a web page and it submits data in HTTP POST method. After submitting the form, if I reload the page [either by the refresh button or back button; whichever applicable], firefox asks permission to resend the form data by saying "To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action...". Now if the user clicks on the resend, firefox resubmits the form data.
So where does firefox store this from data for such future resending/resubmission?
Is it possible to retrieve/manipulate those stored form data?I thought I'd tried that, as tried lots of other things like encoding URL, but obviously not as this works.
Thanks for the quick reply.

Adobe Creative Cloud Muse: Why I don't receive anymore the email from the forms I created in several websites?
Hello Sanjit,
thank you for replying.
I had the problem on this website, I have two forms, one simple and the other more sofisticated:
www.oeso.org
(at the bottom I have a simple contact form) and
I created also a form on www.oeso.org/new-membership.html
but i didn't receive any reply so
I put the form on my website (architecturevisualdesign.ch) in a hidden form:
http://architecturevisualdesign.ch/oeso-new-membership.html
and here I receive the OESO New Membership Form Submission reply.
Thank you for your help.

Blank White Screen Appears after deploying the form on server
Hi Experts,
We have one strange issue with the interactive form developed.
One of our end user is seeing a Blank White Screen with Red cross at corner when he opens the form in portal.
The form Layout type is ZCI and Display type in Web Dynpro is Native. THe user has Adobe 9 version and working on Internet explorer 6.0.
Kindly let me know how to solve this problem.
Thanks & Regards,
Phani.Hello,
this happens when the activeX component is not installed for ACF forms. You say you have ZCI so that should not be the issue. I would recommend to try to open other PDF forms on the internet or offline using this users browser. I would re-install the Reader (well, I would use 8.1, because I´ve heard 9 has problems sometimes). And maybe try to install that activeX component. And... now it reminds me of... check his browser security properties, maybe he is so "secure" that he cannot see the form.

Icons are not visible when the form is run
I develop a form with only a push button. I developed form using oracle 10DS. I have saved my form in application server. To see an icon in my button, i did the following things:
1. In application server i made a jar named test.jar. It consists of just two gif images.
2. I copied this jar in application server's \forms90\java directory
3. I configured formsweb.cfg file as the following.
4. my \form90\java\oracle\forms\registry\registry.dat is as the following.
whenever i run form i can not see icon but in client's oracle jar cache jar is downloaded.

I tried many times. But could not be successful. Then I just kept my icons in
\forms90\java directory without making jar. In my form, icon file name is the icon name without extension. Here, i can see my icon in button. but if i replace an icon
without changing the name of the icon, then i always see the old icon. The new icon, i can not see.
Please, help me with only Oracle 10g AS how i can see icon in button. Let's assume, there is not oracle 10g DS (any development tool) in the machine where the form is run.
Please, guide me clearly step by step so that i might be successful.
Thanks.

i am actually using jinitiator 1.3.1.28 with Oracle HTTP Server of OAS 10gR2) calling Forms Server 6i (f60cgi). After setting up according to Bernard's recommended setup steps, the java console showed that it loaded the icon jar file when it could not read the form, but it skipped the loading of the icon jar file once it read and started the form. How do we specify in the form to pick up the icon from the jar file instead from a directory ? Or do we need to specify ? Any ideas ?
Thx and Regards

How does APEX check for null values in Text Fields on the forms?
Hello all,
How does APEX check for null values in Text Fields on the forms? This might sound trivial but I have a problem with a PL/SQL Validation that I have written.
I have one select list (P108_CLUSTER_ID) and one Text field (P108_PRIVATE_IP). I made P108_CLUSTER_ID to return null value when nothing is selected and assumed P108_PRIVATE_IP to return null value too when nothign is entered in the text field.
All that I need is to validate if P108_PRIVATE_IP is entered when a P108_CLUSTER_ID is selected. i.e it is mandatory to enter Private IP when a cluster is seelcted and following is my Pl/SQL code
Declare
v_valid boolean;
Begin
IF :P108_CLUSTER_ID is NULL and :P108_PRIVATE_IP is NULL THEN
v_valid := TRUE;
ELSIF :P108_CLUSTER_ID is NOT NULL and :P108_PRIVATE_IP is NOT NULL THEN
v_valid := TRUE;
ELSIF :P108_CLUSTER_ID is NOT NULL and :P108_PRIVATE_IP is NULL THEN
v_valid := FALSE;
ELSIF :P108_CLUSTER_ID is NULL and :P108_PRIVATE_IP is NOT NULL THEN
v_valid := FALSE;
END IF;
return v_valid;
END;
My problem is it is returning FALSE for all the cases.It works fine in SQL Command though..When I tried to Debug and use Firebug, I found that Text fields are not stored a null by default but as empty strings "" . Now I tried modifying my PL/SQL to check Private_IP against an empty string. But doesn't help. Can someone please tell me how I need to proceed.
ThanksSee SQL report for LIKE SEARCH I have just explained how Select list return value works..
Cheers,
Hari
