COPA document not generated though after billing and accounting generations

I have an issue with one instant.
For some reason COPA document is not generated even though billing and accounting document were created. Found no errors in simulation using KE4ST. The billing item details has all the PA segment characteristics.
COPA documents were created for entries made befor and after this particular one.
Also we have COPA documents for the product with the same customer and different customers.
Our system is 'SAP ERP Central Component 5.0'

Thanks Ajay for the quick response.
Cost element category is correctly maintained.
Condition types are mapped.
COPA is in use for more than 4 years.
Able to simulate COPA document for the Billing document without errors.
We do have COPA documents created before and after this particular transaction.
As you said raising OSS message with SAP.
Thanks

  • COPA document not generated when Post Goods Issue is reversed.

    Hello Friends,
WE uses Stock Transport Order in two steps for transfering Stock from one plant to another.  We have defined a Condition type FRB1 to capture the Freight cost involved in the stock transfer.
When the Post goods issue is done for the Stock Transport Order. following Accounting documents are generated.
    Accounting
    Profit Center
    COPA
    Spec. Purpose Ledger
    Controlling Document
    Material Ledger document.
But When the Post goods issue is reversed through transaction code VL09 all the above documents are generated except for COPA document. Though in controlling document it shows the object type hit is REO i.e profitability Analysis
For further information we have mapped cost element (600150) with Value field in PA transfer structure (Direct assignment from FI and MM. Movement type used for PGI are 641 & 642.
    Thank you

    Dear Colleagues
I thank all those who put in thier time and efforts for possible solution for my problem. But I could resolve this issue with help from SAP.
Basically in costing based COPA the system does not post the cost of goods sold to COPA during goods issue but it is done at the time of posting the invoice since the system wants to see the revenues and the COGS values together.
Since the system posts the COGS into COPA at the time of invoice posting, you will appreciate that if this is also done during goods
issue then you will have duplicate entries in your COPA (i.e. the COGS will be doubled).
If in transaction VL01N/VL02N a costing-based line item would be posted, the costs would be double in CO-PA (the billing and goods issue). For this reason, no costing based line items will be created in the standard R/3 system for transaction VL01N/VL02N.
If for some reason you still wish to post the COGS to COPA during goods issue you have to do the same thro a modification of the system. In your case you have applied note 214381 for the same. Please note here that movement type '641' is used as an example. For other movement types you will need to code accordingly.
as per note 337488 point 2. the changes of note 214381 were not required in our case. Therefore we reverted these changes in LKEIIF01 and added the relevant coding for movement type 642 in function COPA_DOCUMENT_CHECK as per note 337488 point 2.
Looking forward for your continued support

  • Accounting Document Not Generated  for SD Billing

    Hello SAP Champs,
Please let me know if you have any thoughts or solution for the below issue.
    Background:
We have company code 3000 that was created three years back. In the month of November, 2007, we have activated Controlling in this company code. Now business is trying to cancel an Invoice that was posted prior to Controlling activation (for company code 3000).
The transaction used is VF11.  The result is a cancellation document has been created in the  system but no accounting document was generated.  The error message is "Account XXXXX requires assignemnt to CO object".
However there is no issue with the account determination or account assignment setup. In fact all other Invoices(that were generated after controlling is made active), account assignment works just fine.
We are trying to see if there is any standard procedure or mechanism to resolve this issue.
Question -  Can we manually create the accounting document for the cancelled invoice? I tried creating one(using FB01) but it was not recognized by the invoice and I'm not seeing it in the document flow. We have the same document number for Invoice and Accounting document.   Please let me know if I'm missing anythiing here or is there a better way to resolve this.
Thank you in advance for your help. Points rewarded for sure.

You can map Sales Order number to either 'Assignment' or 'Reference' fields in accounting document using Copy control function in SD. Please use transaction VTFA, this needs to be maintained for combinations of billing type and sales document type. Please ensure these fields are not currently used in your system for other information.
Following fields can be mapped to 'Assignment' or 'Reference'.
    A Purchase order number
    B Sales order number
    C Delivery number
    D External delivery number
    E Current billing document number
F External delivery no. if available, otherwise delivery no.
If you currently use 'Assignment' or 'Reference' fields for other details, you can use user exit EXIT_SAPLV60B_008.

  • COPA document not generating - very very urgent

    Hi to all,
I configured COPA and our scenario is Make to order.
While doing of billin copa document is not generating.
I went to KE4S to transfer billing documents to copa manually it is saying that " document XXXXXXXXXXXX is not profit related and thus could not be transferred.
when I double clicked the error message it is saying that might be below reasons the copa document was not generated.
    1. The document type is not profit related, such as inquiry
    2. The sales document shows zero for the quantity
3.The sales document has been denied
4.The sales document is locked due to credit reasons
But in our case above 4 messges are not applicable.
Please guide me to solve the issue.
    Sateesh Kumar

You said you didn't find any entries in KEAT... you mean there was nothing at all for this Billing?
You need to assign those Condition type in KE4I which you wish to analyse in COPA or which require an account assignment. I would analyse my billing to see if more than one condition types are not "cancelling" the transfer to COPA and hence no COPA document. COPA will not post if the net value of the billing is zero.
Derivation rules need to be maintained only if it has been configured. In all probability, if you are not getting an error for derivation rules, you are in the clear. If the system expects a derivation and doesn't find it, it throws an error.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers.

  • Clearing document not generated on cancelling billing document

When we cancel a billing document through VF11 the cancelled billing document generates a reverse document. The billing document and the cancelled billing document are not getting cleared i.e they show as an open item in the customer account.

    Hi ABAPER,
        1) Open Sales order means - Sales orders that   contain items still to be <u><b>delivered</b></u>.
        2) So unless the delivery of the goods is done. They will be not shown as close order.
        3) you can VBFA to confrim these.

  • COPA Document not generating from MM postings

    Hi,
Can anybody help me figure out my problem in COPA? I have set up the flow of actual values for direct postings from FI/MM.  When I made a test posting via F-02 for GL account Raw Material Consumption, I could see that a COPA document is being generated and it flows correctly to a customised KE30 I have created.  But when I posted a test transaction via MIGO for the same GL account, the COPA document is not being generated.  Any advice is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Thess

    Hi Thess,
you are missing some thing very important. That is the value flows in Product Costing and COPA.
When you post material consumption to Production Order, there is not COPA Document generated. because, Production Order is the real cost object and there is no need to post another cost object say Profitablity segment.
When the postings to COPA will happen?
    1. When sales are made and delivery happend. Through SD conditions, the value of Sales and Cost of sales and other direct sales cost from SD condition types will flow to COPA
    2. When you settle production Order. The variances will get settled to COPA
    3. When you settle Sale Order (when sale Order is the cost object). the values will flow to COPA
    4. Direct posting from FI to COPA. Say Subsequent customer discounts rebates etc
    5. MM automatic postings using OKB9 settings.  automatic postings like inventory differences etc
    6. there are few more cost object from where the settlement can happen to COPA like Project Systems, Service Orders etc
In you case, just consumption posting to Production order will not have any COPA impact.
please let me know if you need futher clarifications
    Best Regards

  • After cancelling the  billing document accounting document not generated

    hi,
we released the billing and accounting document generated but customer needed changes in the billing values so we cancel the billing document but accounting document not generated(reversal accounting not happen)....in document flow it shows in cancel document in blocking state ....we try to release in VF02 but it throws the error "Client 200 does not contain an active application area" . but the other sales order we test in qulaity server the scenorio is working fine...............for specific one sales order creating problem now.....
try to solve the issue ..
    Thanks
    Muthuraman.D

    Dear all,
I have noticed this problem in my company system.
    Problem descripion:
    - you creates an invoice and the system doesn't post it for any reason
    - then you create the cancel of the invoice, BEFORE forcing the posting of the invoice
--> user creates Cancel, Cancel is not posted as well.
--> from now it is impossible to post both invoices: if you try to post the Invoice after the cancel creation, the VF02 recongnise that a CANCEL exists and do not allow for the posting
--> standard VFX3 doesn't signal this kind of not posted documents situation.
Ok, The right procedure for thes user should be: create invoice, if not posted then try to understand why not posted, and not CANCEL it.
But in this case VFK3 was not able to detect the invoice was not posted: it was not in the list.
So the 2 ways must be:
    1) one possibility could be undestand in VFX3 could be enhanced: I checked in OSS but I didn't find anything.
    2) other possibility: add a further check in interface between SD and FI in order to check if original invoice is not posted to FI  and in this case block the cancel creation, as instead standard SAP does.
Could you please give me an idea on how it would be better proceed?
    Thank You very much.

  • Billing Number Range problem ( accounting document not generated)

    Hi All,
I have created some billing types and for them I have assigned some internal number ranges. Now when I create a billing document it is getting saved with the proper number range but no accounting document is getting generated.
Also when I try to release the invoice I am getting an error which says " *Incorrect doc.no.: 10000009. Select document number between 0090000000 and 0099999999* "
    K I N D L Y     suggest  as U R G E N T.
    Regards,
    Danny.

    Dear,
Billing Number Range problem ( accounting document not generated) is not an error because when you create billing document then accounting document not generated. Accounting done after posting of that billing document with VFX3 or VF02 T.Code by account department.
And for second issue you had define number range between 0090000000 and 0099999999 for invoice so thats why it happen.

  • COPA: PGI not generating  COPA document

    Hi
I am using costing based COPA.. I know that in this type of COPA, the Cost of Sales [COS] GL account is not created as Cost element.. But, I am fed up of reconciliation between FI and COPA due to timing gap between PGI and billing..
So, I created the COS a/c as cost element category 1, In Okb9 made the PSG (Prof Segment) as default CO Object and also mapped this Cost element to a Value field in FI PA transfer structure
When I do PGI, system generates only FI doc and Controlling document.. No COPA document is generated
In FI doc, system populates the PSG in COS line item and in Controlling doc, the Object Type is REO (Reconciliation Object)....however, no COPA doc is generated despite this
Can I generate a COPA doc at the time of PGI?? I know that it will duplicate COGS in COPA, but I am taking care of that by mapping to a different value field
I tried using the cost element categories 1 and 12 both.... But the COPA document is not getting generated
    Any inputs??
    Regards, Ajay
Edited by: Ajay Maheshwari on May 25, 2009 1:35 PM

    Hi Santosh
I agree to what you have said.. But, I want to take it to COPA by way of creating it as cost element and doing the settings in OKB9... Also, I mapped it to a value field in PA Trf Str
Is it possible that using the record type B system generates a COPA doc
Why I feel it shud/can get generated is that when we change the std cost, system posts revaluation if inventory exists.. This revaluation amount can be taken to COPA by way of same settings in OKB9 and PA transfer Str..
Similarly, I am trying for PGI.... Dont know why system is not generating COPA doc?
Any ideas whether it can be technically done??

  • Billing Document not generated.....

    Hi Gurus,
When i am creating a Billing Document VF01....after completion of VL01n...the system shows an error Billing Document not generated...
    Please help me
    Rewards will be given

To resolve the error, you can analyze account determination in the billing document. Process:
    Goto T.Code: VF02 & Enter Invoice number
Next (On the top most strip) goto Environment
Next (Select Environment) go to Account determination
Next (In Account Determination) select Revenue Account Determination (first option)
This will list all the condition types in the Billing document & analyze each condition & check for which G/L accounts is not determined.
    Possible errors:
    1. VKOA not maintained for required combination
Solution: Maintain the combination in VKOA.
    2. Account Assignment of Customer / material not maintained in Customer / Material Master (If maintained in combination in VKOA).
    Solution:
    Option 1 (Standard solution):
step 1: Cancel Billing Document --> Reverse PGI --> cancel Delivery --> Cancel Sales Order
step 2: Maintain Customer master / Material Master correctly.
step 3: Recreate sales Order --> Delivery --> PGI --> Invoicing.
    Option 2:
Force the Account Assignment Group of Customer / Material through Debug in change mode of Billing document, which will release Billing Document to Accounting.
    3. Account Key not maintained in Pricing Procedure:
Impact: This may create accounting document, but if condition type, which are to be posted to account, but do not have account key maintained in pricing procedure, it will not be post the relevant condition type to G/L account.
From FI Side, you require to check that all the G/L account has been maintained through T.Code: FS00. G/L account being Master data has to be created in each client ot uploaded through LSMW / SCATT / BDC.
In Billing Document in change mode (in the first screen where we enter Billing Document number), on the top most left hand corner, take a dropdown on Billing Document & select Release to accounting. Here you can get the under mentioned possible message:
    1. G/L account not found
    2. Cost Element not maintained for G/L account.
In both the above cases, FI consultant requires to take corrective action.

    Rajesh Banka
