Copy portal EP7 SP8 to cluster EP7 SP8

hello,
I try to copy portal EP7 SP8 non-cluster to cluster system.
and the dialog instance going down.

Are you using SAPINST to perform a system copy?
By "cluster" do you mean MSCS?

If you refer to content personalized through Content Administration, e.g. Roles or personalized pages/iviews, you have to create a transport package by using export (production) and import (test) options.
For export: System Administration > Transport > Transport Packages > Export
For import: System Administration > Transport > Transport Packages > Import
I suggest you do that using a ".epa" file

Problems displaying PDF in Portal EP7 - only able to display HTML form

Hi,
Anyone knows how to force showing of PDF based form instead of HTML form in the portal? We're currently on EP7 SPS10.
We have tested ADS in backend, meaning that travelforms show up as PDF there and we can control what to show with a switch in a table. But it doesn't seem to be picked up in the portal. Regardless of whether we set the parameter sap.xss.tra.UsePDF or not (both in the iview property Application Parameters and/or in the resource "EMPLOYEE_TRAVE_TRIP_FORM_PDF" of service "EMPLOYEE_TRAVEL_TRIPFORM") it still displays the HTML form.
Has anyone experienced this before? We're having a hard time figuring out where and how to enable PDF forms. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Problem while viewing print preview in Portal(EP7.0)

Hello Experts,
We have prepared an ABAP report which generates an output in print format.We have used standard function module(SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME) and the smartform gets displayed correctly in print preview on R/3 side.But when i create a transaction iview and use this report in portal, the output gets generated in pdf format directly.I do not want to display the report in .pdf format but i would like the users to view the output same as in R/3 format.

Runtime error in Business planning role on portal EP7.0

We are using the BI integrtaed planning role from portal.( Ep 7.0) and backend system is BI7.0.
1)I added the role com.sap.ip.bi.business_planning_showcase to the user
2) I created the JCO connections
BI_MODELDATA
● BI_METADATA
● WD_ALV_MODELDATA_DEST
● WD_ALV_METADATA_DEST
3)In spro of BI7.0 settings for starting planning modeler I gave the url of the portal.
Now when open the BI planning role it is throwing the error
com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntimeException: Failed in WD JNDI lookup. javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: No child found in WebDynproContext with name biplanstartpage .
Any suggestions please.

If you are using Ep 6.0 Sp 15 then you have to deploy the BIKIT for Sp 13 on the portal using SDM.
This will solve Your problem.

I have 2 different landscapes:
1) An EP 7 portal landscape that is working with the ECC 5.0 system without XSS (only self developed webdynpro).
2) Two side systems ECC 6.0 and an EP 7 portal with BP XSS 600.
Here is what I performed up until now:
1) I installed SP-stack #14 on a different EP 7.0 landscape with no problem.
2) However, when I try to install SP#14 on the side EP 7 system with the BP XSS 600, the JSPM queue does not recognize some of the files - for example the kernel files (SAPEXE.SAR and SAPEXEDB.SAR) which were uploaded fine in the other landscape using the exact same JSPM queue.
What am I doing wrong ?
Why doesn't the JSPM recognize the kernel files ? Where do I get other kernel *.SAR files ?
Remark: It also requests some other files which are part of the BP XSS.
Please, advise further.

Dump while copying the entries in view cluster

Hi Experts,
I am having a scenario where i am getting the dump while copying the entries through the vies cluster.
I have 2 tables CU00 and CU01. CU01 is depended on CU00.
CU00- it is having schema which are defined by the user.(SCHEMA-P,DESC)
CU01- this table is having the different tabs in a tab strip for a each of the user defined schema.(SCHEMA-P,SEQNO-P,TABID)
the data will be as follows
In CU00
          SCHEMA1         first schema
          SCHEMA2         second schema
In CU01
          SCHEMA1         01              TAB1
          SCHEMA1         02              TAB2
          SCHEMA2         01              TAB2
          SCHEMA2         02              TAB3
I maintained above 2 tables in a view cluster by making CU00 is the start point and defined the field dependencies as well.
in the T-code SE54 i tried to copy the existing schema and all its dependencies(means all the dependent entries in the CU01 table also).
when i pressed the SAVE button it is going for the dump by saying due to duplicate entries in the table CU01.
but it should check the consistency and display the error message when i pressed the COPY key.
I am badly struck up here. Please help me on this issue.

CU01 and CU00 both are dictionary tables.
What I think is, while copying all the dependencies for a particular schema the system ha to check whether the data can be inserted into the child tables or not. I too dont know whether this can be done or not.
If not, it should display an error message stating that " primary key violation occurs please use different key values..."

How do you deploy a portal to a weblogic cluster?

We're using WLServer 6.1 SP2 and WLPortal 4.0 SP2. Has anybody got any experience
clustering a portal instance? We can see how to target EJB and WAR components to
the cluster server (those components have "Target" tabs when we display them in the
console), but how do you target an EAR (such as the portal) to a cluster? It seems
awfully tedious to sit and deploy each individual ejb/war to the cluster to get started.

You have to deply components individualy. Also, make sure you define a proper target
for application-config.xml. You can only do this by editing config.xml.
Also do not forget to deply all necessary J2EE services (JDBC etc) as well as startup
classes.

Hi,
You might be able to achive this by reverse engineering the code of com.sap.portal.runtime.system.console (application under system admin->support which allows you to restart services)
See the following folder and decompile the java sources with JAD or similar
C:\usr\sap\<SID>JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\src\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.portal.runtime.system.console

Move/ copy Portal favorites from one user to another user

Hi,
I got a request asking that one of the user have Portal favorites in his account and need to be copied to other users accounts (more than one). How is this possible? please advice and appreciated with the points.

Hi Pandu,
This is possible in several ways:
1.) Manually: The favorites are stored under \userhome\<username>\favorites. The "userhome" repository is not visible by default, you'd have to change this, then you could, e.g. with an AdminExplorer, access the favorites in question and copy them to other favorites directories (of other users).
2.) Automatically: You'd have to implement some component which copies the favorites to other favorites folders of other users programatically.

ESS 60.2 in EP7 with ECC 5.0 issue

I am facing some issue in implementing ESS Busines Package in EP7 sp9.
Landscape:
we have EP 7 with sp8 - ESS business package 60.2 installed (separate box)
we have WAS 6.40 with sp10 - ESS 100 sp6 and PCUI GP 100 sp6 installed (separate box)
we have ECC 5.0 (separate box). WAS ABAP Stack
We are using Travel Management of ESS, when we click dispay/print button in one of the opened expense report nothing is happening.
If we directly run the webdynpro application thats working fine.
Basically the webdynpro getting data from ECC but its not displyed in iview in portal EP7.
Also when i try to exit from edit mode in expense report its opening new browser with portal.
Any input on this is highly apreciated!!!!

i have deployed and configured BI java on portal server.and while accessing the roles from portal(ep7) ,for the BEx Web Analyzer getting the error message as shown below.but the other two i.e. planning wizard and planning modeller are running fine.is there is some problem while configuring or while deploying files on the portal server..please help me in this case.
