  • Java hibernate oracle sessions never get closed

    Hi all,
    I'm opening some Oracle sessions from a java-hibernate app. When a shutdown my java-hibernate the oracle sessions remain opened, even if the java process is not seen as running with "ps -fea | grep java".
    The problem is that this oracle sessions never die, they remain there and the only way to kill them is to either manually kill oracle process, or to restart the oracle instance or to restart the unix box where oracle resides.
    My java/hibernate app always close the session with a final statement in the source code, no matter what.
    Thanks in advanced.

  • Need help with session sharing in WebCenter Portal

    Hi, How can I share session between a WebCenter Portal application and the portlets it is consuming?
    Basically I want this for authentication. In the portal framework application, I'm setting a user object in the session, How can I get the object in a portlet?
    Regards,
    Navaneet

    IN the second page, you have to make sure that the session
    has been started.
    Put this at the very top of the page -
    <?php if (!isset($_SESSION)) session_start(); ?>

  • EP7 sessions never timeout ?

    I want my EP7 session never timeout
    I remember that I configured it at configtool.
    However I cannot find it anymore.
    Please advise. Points guaranteed. Thanks!

    Hi
    You probably want to set sap logon ticket timeout. To do this You have to set ume property :
    login.ticket_lifetime

  • Serving Portal 8.1 SP2 content from Apache 2.0.43 configured using Plugin.

    Hi Friends,
    Ours is a Portal Enterprise app with 3 portal web apps in 8.1 SP2.
    We are planning to configure 2 Apache HTTP Web Servers as Front End Machines
    (External Load Balancer) with 2 Weblogic Portal back end machines with 4
    Weblogic Portal servers in a cluster.
    The 2 Weblogic Portal Back end Machines will be having the same Domain
    replicated by some means. So When one WL Admin Server is down, then we will
    use the other.
    In reference to this configuration,
    We are using Apache Http Plugin from BEA.
    How can we configure Apache and Weblogic server in order that all the static
    content will be served by Apache and dynamic content by Weblogic Server ?
    I mean to ask suppose I have webapp ,
    what will be correct set-handlers that I have use in httpd.conf and any
    changes to be done in Portal Web app to support this setting ?
    Please explain with example.
    Thanks,
    Karthi.

    Actually, XMLBeans are built into Workshop. Create a schema project and put your XSD into it. The beans will be generated automatically and included in your portal app.

    What copy method are you using?
    Are you using SAPINST to perform a system copy?
    By "cluster" do you mean MSCS?

    Timothy:
    This exception usually means that the target for application-config.xml is not correct. We usually see this happening in a
    clustered configuration because the target for application-config needs to be to both the adminserver and the cluster. It is not
    possible to target the application-config.xml using the console and you will have to edit the config.xml to have the correct
    targetting. For a cluster, the relevant lines in config.xml would be something like:
    <ApplicationConfiguration Name="portal"
    Targets="AdminServer,MyCluster" URI="META-INF/application-config.xml"/>
    Hope that helps,
    Ted

  • How to check and change the dafault session timeout of the Portal?

    Hello,
    When leaving a portal page open without using it for a certain amount of time and then accessing it again the Session times-out.
    Where can I check and change this default time-out time in case I would like to extand it for the end users?
    Roy

    Hi Roy,
    Session timeout includes multiple settings (J2EE setting and SSO setting at User Management).
    Defining the Timeout in J2EE Session
           1.      Open file web.xml (path depends on the version of EP6.0. If it is based on NW04, then
    ..\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF
           2.      Enter a value in minutes under <session-timeout>. The value should roughly correspond to the length of a synchronization cycle. The default is 30 minutes.
    After a successful login, it receives a SSO ticket which is valid for longer duration (generally 8 hrs, default which you can changed using  "System Admin" as mentioned by Yoel.
    Thanks,
    Swapan

  • Reading Session Variables in Abstract Portal Component/ JSP Dynpage or Java

    Hi All,
    I have a web dynpro for Java component which passes parameters in a session and also navigates to a Java application.
    Now when I try to read the session parameters in the Java application (JSPDynpage or Abstract Portal Component) I cannot retrieve the values.
    Can someone throw light on how I can achieve this within a Java application.
    Code is as enclosed below -
    WD for Java Code
      public void onActionClicked(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent )
        //@@begin onActionClicked(ServerEvent)
    IClientSession session = Utils.getCurrentClientSession();
    IScope scope = session.getScope();
    scope.put("TestSession", wdContext.currentContextElement().getTxtValue());
    WDPortalNavigation.navigateAbsolute(
    "ROLES:portal_content/com.be.pct.cr.Test/DynProToNet",
    WDPortalNavigationMode.SHOW_INPLACE,
    (String)null,
    (String)null,
    WDPortalNavigationHistoryMode.NO_DUPLICATIONS,
    (String)null,
    (String)null,
    (String)null);
        //@@end
    Code within the Abstract Portal Component doContent method is -
    IPortalComponentSession ses;
    ses = request.getComponentSession();
    String TestSession = new String();
    String sTest = new String();
    String sTesting = new String();
    if(ses.getValue("TestSession")!= null){
    TestSession = ses.getValue("TestSession").toString();
    if(request.getParameter("TestSession")!= null){
    sTest = request.getParameter("TestSession");
    if( request.getValue("TestSession")!= null)
    sTesting = request.getValue("TestSession").toString();
    response.write("Display"TestSessionsTest+sTesting);
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Divya

    Hi,
      Why not use eventing between webdynpro and portal applications? That would be more easy. Check these documents.

  • ITS iView and Session Management in Federated Portal Network

    Hi,
    We use an ITS iView for an HR application in the Portal. When used in federation the session management doesn not work correctly. We fill in a selection screen in the begin of the application and then run the report. When we click the back button in the Portal and then reload the app, the selection of the previous session is used, in stead of showing a new selection screen.
    This only occurs when used in Federated Portal Network. SAP OSS already pointed out that the USR_ABORT command is not given in the consumer Portal. How can we make sure that this command is given, so that the session is correctly closed? How can we set these session management properties and options?
    Best regards,
    Jan Laros

    Solved it. It is done in the federation configuration. In SAP  Note 880482 - Central Note: Federated Portal Network (SAP NetWeaver 7.0) the problem is identified, specific for SPS13. The two properties of the producer: External Hostname and External Port were not updated properly and needed to be changed manually.

    Well, some of the important documentation is, unfortunately buried in
    the javadoc (http://e-docs.bea.com/wlp/docs81/javadoc/index.html). Look
    at com.bea.content.expression.ExpressionHelper for info on the query
    syntax, and com.bea.content.expression.Search of the standard property
    names that correspond to methods on Node.
    For getting the children of a Node, you can use the NodeOps API:
    RepositoryManager mgr = RepositoryManagerFactory.connect(session);
    NodeOps ops = mgr.getNodeOps();
    ops.getNodeChildren(parentNode.getId());
    In a search/contentselector you can use the cm_path property to limit a
    search to a particular branch, e.g.:
    cm_path like '/BEA Repository/mypath/*'
    But, you can't limit to just direct children of that path via search.

    This solves some of the issues I was facing. However, I was not able to
    find
    this in any of the documentation. Please point me to it if itsmentioned.
    >>
    Also, Is there an API to fetch all the content under a specified node ?
    (<cm:getNode> expects the explicit path, but returns only that node.)

    Arun.

    Use the cm_objectClass property name in the query, e.g.:
    color = 'red' && cm_objectClass = 'Car'
    For content selectors, content placeholders, and campaigns,
    cm_objectClass is available under the 'Standard' content Property Set.

  • New iview Window Session Handling in Enterprise Portal

    Hi All,
    We are using Webdynpro iviews and SAP Transaction iviews at ITC for portal implementation. We are opening the iviews in New window using "Launch in Separate Window". We have the following issues
    - When I log off from Portal , the webdynpro iview session is killed automatically - No issues.
    - When I close the portal window WITH OUT LOGOFF, then webdynpro iview session is still existing
    - In case of SAP Transaction iview irrespective whether the Portal is logged off or closed , transaction iview session exists.
    - When I log off from the Transaction iview , I still see the same window in opened status ,but blank.
    Would appreciate any suggestions on these at the earliest.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Failed retrieval of the session object from the portal server in the WebApp

    hello out there,
    i tried to realize a multipartform file upload with a jsp-Channel (in .../portal/dt ) which sends the data into the same WebApp ( .../portal/ )to a different jsp-File but which is not using the desktopServlet of the potal. The Information where the file must be stored is generated in the jsp-Channel of the portalDesktop and saved in a session object. the problem i have is this: the session object generated in the jsp-Channel isn`t available outside .../portal/dt. But the WebAppContext is .../portal/ and the jsp File which processes the upload resides in .../portal/fileProcess.jsp . Does the PortalServer manage SessionManagement in a different way than an ordinary servlet/jsp container ?? if yes, how can i create a session object for the whole webAppContext ".../portal/ " ??
    i am very thankful for answers
    sincerely
    martin

    you may try to set usehttpsession to true in ../SUNWam/lib/AMConfig.properties file (restart after change). But using httpsession in portal is not an optimal solution for performance - performance tuning in production environment sets the value to false. I remember there is a good posting here about using session in portal, you may want to find it out.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can Portal 6.0 SP2 upgrade to EP 2004 with R/3 base release stay at 4.6C ?

    Hi, portal experts,
    We have EP 6.0 SP2 working well with R/3 base release at 4.6C. Now we
    are wondering whether we can upgrade EP 6.0 SP2 alone. In other words, can we
    leave R/3 as it is (4.6C), and upgrade only EP 6.0 SP 2 to EP 2004 ?
    In general, can portal upgrade be totally independent of R/3 or BW ?
    I think so. But I need proof from SAP docs or notes. Could you give some insights ?
    Critically, could you list SAP URL and official docs to support your arguments ?
    Thanks.
    Hans

    Hi  Hans,
    the official place for you to look at is the <a href="http://service.sap.com/pam">"Product Availability Matrix" (PAM)</a> or some notes which are hidden somewhere in the huge attic of SAP notes
    Generally there are no dependecies between R/3, BW and EP.
    For your R/3 4.6C there are no dependecies in any way.
    As long as you "only" integrate web frontends (like WebGui or BSPs) you can have whatever you want versions. But when it comes to the newest releases some of the features like e.g. BW's broadcasting are only supported when BI and EP are both version 7.0!
