Copy variants from query to query.

Hello ,
Does anyone know how to copy the variants from one query to other ??
Do I need a custom program to accomplish this ?? If yes any suggestions on the FM's to used for this .

Hi,
you can: use RS_VARIANT_COPY.
First identify the corresponding report:
SE16 table VARID, enter your Variant techname in VARIANT. If you get several reports then you should save a new variant with a name you think uinque (ZZZZZZZ).
Once you have the report name, goto SE37 FM: RS_VARIANT_COPY and enter the parameters as follows:
Import parameters               Value
REPORT                          GP6G85U7V6PTAF72EGNL26J3VVL
VARIANT1                        VARTEST_Z
COPY_VARIANT                    VARTEST_Z2

How to copy data from a Input query to real time Infocube

Hi All, I need some help on IP related stuff. The details are as below:
I am using two real time infocubes and one Multiprovider on them.
First Infocube u2018PRODUCTu2019 with the following Objects:
Product Group ,Product,Region ,Fiscal Year , Fiscal Year Varient ,0currency
Gross Sales
Second Infocube u2018C_PRODUCT u2018 with the following Objects:
Product Group ,Product,Region ,Fiscal Year , Fiscal Year Varient ,0currency
Gross Sales and Forecast Sales
( u2018Forecast Salesu2019 in the extra object in the second Infocube. Remaining objects are same in the both the cubes)
First Infocube u2018Productu2019 has data but the second cube does not have any data.
I have created a Multiprovider ZMulti and in that I have included these two cubes. On this Multi Provider, I have created a Aggrigation Level(The details of the aggregation level is provided in the next page).
On this Aggrigation level I have built a Input Query by which I run the report.
(In the Rows area, I have taken Product Group, Product, Region and Fical year.
In the Key Figure section, I have taken Gross Sales and Forecast Sales( which is part of the second Infocube C_Product). These two Key Figures are made Input as Input ready. And the Query is Input ready query. In the Filter, I have taken Fiscal Year Variant. )
Data available in the first cube and no data currently in the second cube. Now executed the report and report displayed information from the first cube.
EX:
Product     Product     Region          Year     Gross Sales     Forecast Sales
Group
PG01           Beer           North           2008           10000           u2026u2026u2026
PG01           Beer          South          2008          20000           u2026u2026u2026
PG01          Beer          East          2008          15000           u2026u2026u2026
The second column is empty and there is no data for the Forecast sales Key Figure in the column.
Things look OK till the above.
Now based on the Gross Sales, I am entering forecast Sales values and I need to save the entire record to the second cube.
For this in the report, I have given the Forecast sales values in the second column and right clicked the mouse and form the menu which I got, selected the u2018SAVEu2019 Option to save the data. For some time, I can see u2018Processingu2019 message and later values at u2018Forecast Salesu2019 are disappearing.
Data is not saving to the cube second cube.

In the Query, Do I need to provide InfoProvider and restrict it to specific value?
In the query, Do I need to include, 0currency object?

Copy Variants between Web Templates

Experts,
Our users access all BI Reports via the SAP Portal. The reports are published using Web Templates (developed using the Web Application Designer). We are on BW 7.0 EHP 1.
My question relates to Variants created on the web templates. Is there a way to copy variants from one web template to another, if the templates are based off of the same query? I can see that the web template variants are in SE11 table RSRPARAMETRIZA. But I am not able to see a way to copy them from one template to another. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Copy Query Variants from InfoCube to MultiProvider

Hi,
Is it possible to copy query variants from an infocube to a multiprovider?
Basically, we used RSZC to copy the queries from the infocube to the multiprovider, but it doesn't look like the variants were copied over. Is there an ABAP program or some other workaround that can expedite/facilitate in recreating the variants on the multiprovider queries?

It is possible to copy but the only requirement is your target cube structure should match with the source cube structure.

How to copy queries from 1 Query folder to another query folder in TFS 2013 using C # programmatically ?

         I'm trying to copy a bunch of queries from 1 folder in "Shared queries" to another folder within "Shared Queries" using C#.
         I'm looking to do something like this
         foreach(query q in folderx )
                        foldery.query = folderx.query;
          I have been trying to use the queryfolder and its properties but not able to find the correct class/property/function to use. I have seen this link http://bzbetty.blogspot.in/2012/12/tfs-automation-automatically-creating.html
but here they are creating new queries in the new folder rather than copying it .

Query with variant from ABAP

Hello!
I need to execute a BW-query from an Abap-report.
I tried it already with function module 'RRW3_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA' and with classes / objects 'CL_RSR_REQUEST' resp. 'CL_RSR_DATA', but:
I want to use the query with a variant, which could be found in table RSRPARAMETRIZA.
(Btw: even with a variant in table RSRVARIANTDIR I don't get the results wanted...)
Is there a direct way to call a BW-query with a variant from Abap?
Alternatively: How do I get the variant-contents? Is there a 'universal' way to work with both kinds of variants? (RSRVARIANTDIR / RSRPARAMETRIZA)

But this solution doesn't work for me: CL_RSR_QUERY_VARIABLES is unknown.
I read the pdf and the function-module-code, but I still don't have an idea how to work with query- variants . The example-coding includes a line
DATA: wf_variant TYPE variant .
but that's not used, or is it?
(I don't have a set of variables and conditions, but just a variant-name. The variant will be created by other people, who would start my report.)

Copying Queries from one infoset to the other with variants

Hello Gurus,
I have two infosets (A & B) based on logical database PNPCE. Infoset A & B are exactly the same. Now, I want to copy the queries of infoset A to infoset B.
I am unable to copy the queries with variants. And I am getting following message:
Error when copying query report XXXXXXX= with variants. Error when importing query
FYI, I am able to copy the queries without variants successfully, using 'Sap Query: Special Copy Functions'.
Any help on this would be much appreciated.

I think you are right. I see now that I am overcomplicating things.
To answer your question, no I do not add any color adjustments to the individual compound clips. I double click into the compound clips and make color adjustments to each of the angles from the multicam clip. When copying a clip made from the same multi cam clip from one project to another, any color adjustments made to the angles of that multicam clip that was copied over from the other project, does not carry over to the same multicam clips to the new project it was copied to - even if you break the compound clip apart to just the multicam clip, at least that's what I've noticed.
But as you said, the easier thing to do, and this makes total sense now, would be create your multicam clip, and use keywords to label the parts in the browser, then drag the clips to the timeline as you need them. I'm assuming that the color corrections you apply to the angles on the timeline will be automatically applied to new keyword clips you drag to the timeline? Also, to name those multicam clips on the timelines, would you use markers? Is this correct?

Multiple reads of the same data from Multiprovider by Query (Bex)

Hello, guys!
We're having issue with performance of a query built on Multiprivider. During our investigation, we've found out that within one run of a Query, it several times refers to InfoProvider for the same data (see image attached).
Do you have ideas what can be a reason for multiply reads of the same data from Multipvovider?

By "copy of a query" i meant something like this as shown below :
*Kindly click on the screenshot for a better view.
1) See the highlighted portions below in the screenshot . See Query 2 highlighted and name of the BEx query highlighted.
2) See the highlighted portions . See Query 3 highlighted and name of the BEx query highlighted.
As you can see from the above screenshots i have used the same BEx query 2 times by the name of Query 2 & Query 3 . Infact i have not attached the complete screenhsot . In that i have used it 6 times.
I have to analyze this a bit in detail but what i am guessing is that when this WEBi is called the single BEx is also called multiple times. And hence it hits the Info Provider multiple times resulting in a decreased performance.
But this does not mean that this is wrong approach. There are various areas where you can improve for example :
1) Either improve your BEx query if possible or use aggregates or something like that .
2) Use the Query stripping setting in WEBi so that unused dimensions and measures are not pulled resulting in an improved performance. It's switched on by default.

It is possible on Query Print Layout Design(QPLD) so Try to create QPLD.
Check this link u can get presentation slide form SAP.

First you can try to create the Query report with UDF filed.
for example,
SELECT T0.DocNum, T0.DocDate, T0.CardName, T0.CheckSum, T0.U_UDF1, T0.U_UDF2, T0.U_UDF3
FROM OVPM T0 WHERE T0.DocNum>='%0' and T0.DocNum<='%1' ORDER BY T0.DocNum
Steps to Develop a User Report in QPLD:-
If you save your Query in Query Manager. Next you can do this,
->> Choose the Query Manager on Top Menu.
->> Open the Qeury Manager Window.
->> Select the specific Query report. and
->> Click the Create Report button in Bottom on Qeury Manager Window.
->> then, Open the Create User Report Window and Select the User Report(System) in Base Template.
If you Change the QPLD name.
->> Click OK.
->> (or) If your Query Report have parameter. Click OK.
Now your Query report was Created QPLD.
Note: All SELECT statement fields will be Stored and Display in Repetetive Area1. and
Parameter Fields are in Repetetive Area0 so you can Try to Copy & Paste the Field_ID's to Repetetive Area Header (or) Repetetive Area Footer.
Example:
->> Open the QPLD and Goto Field index Window, then
->> Select the Repetetive Area Header & Repetetive Area Footer ncrease the Height on Properties Window.
->> Create the Formula fields in Repetetive Area Header & Repetetive Area Footer.
->> Which Field you want to print in header or footer. Drag the Field ID(in Repetetive Area) Copy & Paste to Formula Field.
Can you see to your Query PLD? do this,
->> Choose the Tools on Top Menu.
->> Click the Queries. -> Query Print Layout...
->> Open the Query Print Layout Window.
->> Click Reports Tab and Double the Template (Requrie QPLD) on QPLD Window.
->> Customize and Save the QPLD.
Can you see your Query PLD Preveiw and Print? do this,
->> Choose the Tools on Top Menu.
->> Click the Queries. -> Query Print Layout...
->> Open the Query Print Layout Window.
->> Select Template in Report Tab on QPLD Window.
->> Click Print Preview on Top menu.

How to store data from a complex query and only fresh hourly or daily?

We have a report which runs quite slow (1-2 minutes) because the query is quite complicate, so we would like to run this query daily only and store in a table so for those procedures that need to use this complex query as a subquery, can just join to this table directly to get results.
However, I am not sure what kind of object I should use to store data for this complex query. Is data in global temp table only persist within transaction? I need something that can persist the data and be access by procedures.
Any suggestions are welcome,

Thank you for your reply. I looked at the materialized view earlier on, but have some difficulties to use it. So I have some questions here:
1.The complex query is not a sum or aggregate functions, it just need to get data from different tables based on different conditions, in this case is it still appropriate to use meterialized view?
2.If it is, I created one, but how to use it in my procedure? From the articles I read, it seems I can't just query from this view directly. So do I need to keep the complex query in my procedure and how the procedure will use the meterialized view instead?
3. I also put the complex query in a normal view, then create a materialized view for this normal view (I expect the data from the complex query will be cache here), then in the procedure I just select * from my_NormalView, but it takes the same time to run even when I set the QUERY_REWRITE_ENABLED to true in the alter session. So I am not sure what else I need to do to make sure the procedure use the materialized view instead of the normal view. Can I query from the Materialized View directly?
Below in the code I copied from one of the article to create the materialized view based on my normal view:

Sent output from excel to query builder

Hi all,
I am usung BO XI 3.0. I have some query in query builder, how can I sent that to excel output, without doing VBA.

The only thing without VBA is copying and pasting, as far as I am aware.
What are you trying to accomplish?
I have a macro that extract data from the CMS tables and loads them in Excel.

I feel your pain. I see that using styles apply to the entire paragraph.
So I have a kluge until some really bright minds step in.
Open the Pages document that you need to edit.
Have in memory a single word that is in (red) in your desired font style.
Just type a word in (red), make your font color adjustments. Copy the (red) word into memory. Delete from the document. I put this in parantheses.
Paste the (red) word where you want to make an edit

Unable to propagate index from crawling to query

Hi,
I have a production environment where the query server is separated from the crawl server and each of them in separate zone. When I am running the crawler for any content source it doesn't crawl any data and I receive multiple errors as below

The following conditions are currently affecting index propagation to this server for search service application 'My Search Service':
1. Query 1, catalog Main: failing to copy index files from crawl component 1 for 79 minutes. The network path was not found. 0x80070035
2. Query 1 is not being automatically disabled because the minimum number of ready query components per partition is 2.

It is obvious that the crawl is unable to communicate with the query server due to network issue, so I need to know what ports and protocols needed to be opened among the crawl, query and application servers or any other configurations needed to be done
to have this working

For your issue, it can be caused by that the query component might have stale, or expired, credentials. You need to create new Query Components and delete the Old ones as below steps:
On the SharePoint Central Administration Web site, click General Application Settings and in the Search section click Farm-wide Search Dashboard.
In the Search Service Applications section, from the drop-down list select the search application that generated the event, and then click Modify Topology.
On the Topology for Search Service Application page, click the failed query component in the topology list, and then select Add Mirror from the component’s drop-list.
In the Add mirror query component dialog box, select the query server and associated metadata database for the new query component, and then clickOK.
Click Apply Topology Changes. The changes are processed for the search application and the index is copied from the failed query component to the new query component.
Click the failed query component and click Delete.
The topology removes the index from the failed query component and deletes the component.
