Costing of elements and employees

i have the following fields in my COA.
Company               
Branch               
Region               
Cost Center          
Account               
Activity               
Cost Allocation Flexfield
The same fields are in the costing KFF.
Now if the costing is done at Cost Center level then what all i am suppose to enable in Cost Allocation KFF Qualifier?
please note Cost Center = Department Name
how will the element links be treated.
please assist/help me !

could you please explain me based on your experience as to what impact it will have on the setup. I am a bit new with this just want to know how the info shall be costed for an employee and the element. Appreciate all ur responses

    Hi All,
    In CJ20N, we will be allocating Employees to a WBS Element.
    I would like to know from which table, the WBS element and its Employees can be retrieved?

    Did you try with the infotype table PA0027 - Cost distribution infotype. Or you can check in PA20 and infotype number 0027.
    Here the WBS elements will be assigned to the employees with their % of allocation.

  • Cost Elements and Cost Centers in a service order

    Hello Finance Friends....
    I am inquiring about something that has been happening and I can not find the answer as to how.  I spoke with the finance consultant and he seems to think it is the valuation class being changed but the valuation class has not been changed at all....so here is my problem as I am at a lost...it is an intermittent problem....
    I have a service order for material to be repaired by the customer...lets say coming in for Ansi Calibration with repair.
    The technician will issue material to the service order for repair....if the technician does not end up using the material for repair he will reverse the goods issue and then the material goes back to stock...
    in my scenerio ....when the material is issued it is under GL account (cost elelment) 5XXXXXXX.  When the reversal was done it went to 6XXXXXXXX.  So when the DP90 transaction is done (billing request) it gives the error for cost center XXXX cost elelment 6XXXXXXX and can not complete the transaction DP90. The error is the Material combination for DP90....this works in others....these are just one offs that it is happening to and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to why it happens... I have tried reverse the transaction to put the material back to the service order and then manually reverse myself using the original GL account number it was issued on (5XXXXXX)...however when doing the DP90 it still reads the 6XXXXXXX cost element and cost center XXX.  Keep in mind that the valuation class or material type has not been changed.
    Where is the GL account and Cost center being derived from in the service order?  What can I check?

    Also check account assignment tab of PO.

    Is there an SAP Standard Report that shows Internal order, cost element and order type?  I find many with order, but not order type.

    No, I don't think so. You can create a workaround by defining order group based on order type by intervals. Or, of course, develop your own report.

  • WBS element and Cost Center

    Hi Gurus,
    As far as I know, when the a/c assignment category is P in a PO, the costs are assessed on the cost object WBS element and when the a/c assignment category is K in a PO, the costs are assessed on the cost object cost center. But, as I drill down a WBS element, I find Requesting and responsible cost center.
    So, can I say that a WBS element is actually a child of the responsible cost center ?
          And all the costs assessed on a WBS element are eventually assessed on the responsible cost center?
    Please help in clearing my concepts.

    You assign the account assignment to WBS element based on the OPERATIVE INDICATOR...
    By this you specify the attributes of a WBS element and determine which tasks the WBS element can carry out in the project...

  • Combination of cost elements and cost centers

    Hi guys,
    what if I mentioned only cost centers as sender values in a segement of assessment cycle? do you think that is must to have cost element and cost center combination in sender values?  how it will be differnt I dont mention any cost elements along with cost center  in segements as sendors?  please clarify me with the example.

    Cost Centers are the cost collectors and cost elements are the cost carriers.
    When you add cost elements and cost centers as senders you define that the cost that are available in the cost centers are carried to other cost objects via the cost elements.

    There is no single report to show all the data. You have to use different reports or develop custom report.

  • CJV4, WBS simulation version cost in COSS and COSP by cost element

    Hi PS expert.  (-:
    IN PS When we freeze a simulation version with CJV4,  (operative data to version), sap will create new object number in table VSCAUFV_CN for each network and VSPRPS_CN for each Wbs element related to the simulation Version.
    In our environment, SAP will add record in COSS and COSP for the new object number for Network but NOT FOR THE WBS.
    Is it standard to NOT record the cost in COSS and COSP for the simulation cost of the WBS (against the new object number?)
    That mean we will able to see the simulation cost by cost element for network, but NOT FOR WBS element.
    For the WBS, we only record the cost in RPSCO by cost category.
    Is there a way to active (with an exit ..classu2026bapi) the recording of the cost of the WBS by simulation version in COSS and COSP

    You could use transaction CATS_DA with Receiver Account Assignment and enter the WBS element.

  • Claim Creation, capture of cost against WBS and Payment to Vendor.

    Hi,
    My Scenario is as follow-
    I have a customer which is afftected by my project. He is affected and the has carried some work on his own to restore the things which are affected due to my project.
    Now he is claiming that amount from my company and after accessing, we realise that that is a real damage and we need to pay to the customer.
    Hence i am trying to map it in SAP as follow-
    I am Creating a claim with cost and assigning a WBS element to it. Now the cost of the claim is not getting reflecting anywhere at WBS element. I am aware about the BADI - NOTIF_COST_CUS_CHECK.
    I have not activated this BADI but the description says that when activated, it should create an internal order when i save the claim. Now i want to know what are the effect of cost of claim on WBS (Will it be displayed as planned or actual cost on WBS and is there any relation with the status of claim?)
    The other question is that if i am creating this claim as a claim of customer to whom i need to pay certain amount, how WBS and internal order will help me in executing the payment to customer?

  • Settlement of proj cost to AUC and final settmnt to f.asset for closed proj

    Hi PS Experts,
    If the project (Investment Projects) has been closed and AUC has been fully settled to final asset but in some cases they still received invoices for the same project.
    Would it be correct if they undo closed and undo teco the project and charge the cost to related WBS elements and settle to AUC then proceed to fully settled to a new fixed asset ? SInce the previous fixed asset has been depreciated, i guess we should create totally new asset to settle this new cost.
    Please advise.

    yes it is fine to do that from a system perspective
    choose full capitalisation in  transaction CJ88
    also make sure that the settlement rule to the final asset is entered on the WBS
    you need to check with your FI guidelines about asset value dates etc to check about the business perpspective
    As an alternative - It would be OK to create a sub asset with new asset value dates and use this sub asset in the settlement rule

  • Cost center / Element report downloadable to excel

    does anybody know of a cost center/elements total report by period?
    s_alr_87013613 has the information but can not get both values (cost center and elements) in columns that it is usable for excel.
    I looked deeply and could not find anything.
    I searched also the forums and could not find a valid awnser.
    My only workaround is run KSB1 and create a PIVOT which does not really make sense
    also there might be many line items.
    Anybody else has an idea?
    I can not believe it is not available. It seems like such a basic report.

    I decided to make a query on COSP (not COEP due to runtime).
    Cost object i splitt with local fields and field[[first digit:last digit]] function if there is another person looking for the same.

    I meant not to import/export cost center/element groups in/from one system to another but to create them totally new automatically (like it is possible for cost centers via LSMW and excel file).
    The question is if there is one possibility not to create all the cost center/element groups manually (for the first time - if they are existing in one system, I know that it is possible to transfer it to other systems).

    We have some problem with this report GP42H1QSVYPI2TJMBXZAFTCRP0R590 .  . When this type of program will generate? Any configuration time?  Can we modify this type of report? Could you please explain more. 
    When I compare the Actual costs using KSBB and KSB1 transaction the values are not equal for some cost elements.

    The name of the program you gave is irrelevant, as it's a dynamic name given to any report built with Report Writer techniques. Which report in KSBB shows different figures from KSB1?
