Costs and Inventory posings in Direct Production / Collective order

We are trying to implement direct production though collective orders functionalty at our client.
We are using the right special procurement keys, order types (with collective order flag turned on) etc.  I am able to generate the collective order tree and also see that the scheduling is working as expected.
However, when I post confirmation of child orders, I am  not seeing any goods movements in the leading orders.  Also, I donot see anycost in the leading order as well.   Has anyone come across this issue ?  Any thoughts / ideas willbe helpful?

Hi,
For the order type which you're using, go to OPJH & in the section Cost Controlling tick the check box which says Coll. order with goods movement
Create a new collective order & carry out your cycle. I would suggest do a test in your sandbox first.
Hope it clarifies.

  • Direct production\ collective order cancellation

i have a problem while dealing with collective order network schenario.
i have 2 levels of collective order network e.g. A is parent order and B is child order.
now as soon as i confirm the sub\child B order the header material for taht perticular order has 101 and 261 movement automatically,
i.e. as soon as 101 is done for child order's(B) header material which is a non stockable material is also gets consumed(261) for header order\ parent order A.
but while confirming the header order A, the header material of order B(which is non stockable material) is not there in goods movement screen.
now while cancelling the orders A i don't have order B's header material in component list so that perticular material will not be cancelled so no 262 for that material.
now when i try to cancel order B i get an error for order B's header material that deficit of sales order stock.
how to deal with such problem?
and i also want to know something about collective orders and special procurement key 52 with respect to order confirmation and cancellation..

Now the Reply for the Application of Collective Order
Normally we have a Header Item Fert and Child items Halbs
For Example If a BOM for a Fert contains 5 Halb materials and below some ROH
Here what happens in discrete scenario 6 production orders can be created 1 for Fert and 5 for Halb
so as a usual practive we have Release the Halb orders, GI for ROH , Confirmation of Halbs,GR for Halbs,.... then
    similar thing for Fert
Now as the Halb is inhouse item and manufacturing parellely, the process of Relasing ,confirming ,GR are difficult process, you want to control through the Header Material
    So we want
    1) If i release the Fert Material the Bom Assy components (inhouse) below with collective order setting has to Relases Automatically
    2) If i confirm the Fert Material the the Bom Assy components (inhouse) below with collective order setting has to Confired Automatically
    3) The GR has to takes place automatically for Halb items(without any document) you can't see the stock of halb also it will always show "0"
    4) For the ROH below Halb a reservation will be generated those you can control manually or through Backflush
    So the setting required is
    Fert item keep Procurement =E
For the bom halb items where you want collective order keep Procurement =E and special Procurement =52
    it will work
    thanks

  • Assign manual cost and profit center for 3rd party purchase order

When we have a 3rd party purchase order we need to assign OUR cost and profit center to that document.  Here is the scenario:
We buy a product from a vendor for $10 and then re-sell the product to a customer for $100.  Instead of posting this information to either cost or profit center of the vendor and customer, we need to assign the $10 to our company cost center and the $90 to our company's profit center.  We are basically acting as a middle man for selling a product.
I am fairly a newbie, so please provide detailed answers if possible.  We create the sales order in VA01 and create the purchase order in ME22N.

    HI Kapil,
For any accounting entry you need to define a General Ledger Account where the details (Amount) of the transaction will be stored.
Just by maintaining cost centre will not help in completing any transaction involving accounts. So you need to  maintain G/L account in the controlling area of your company code.
You can use T Code FS00 to create new G/L account in the chart of accounts.
In the edit cost element Tab you can give the cost center that you want.
    I hope this helps.
    thanks

  • Production collective order serial number

    Hello guys,
Could anyone please help me in finding  serial number of a parent collective order(production order) from a collective order(production order) number(AUFNR).
All I'm trying is to print serial number from parent collective order in a child order. In child order I only get parent order number not serial number.
Please let me know about a function or routine to read serial number.
    Regards,

Read the serial number from tables afko , objk and  ser05.

  • Regarding direct production

    Dear all,
I have checked in help portal regarding direct production,
Can anybody explain with example how to process it.
Because in help portal it has mention goods issue and receipt not necessary.
Then how the material will take in MRP?
Difference between direct production & collective order?
    Regards
    Rajasekaran

    Hi,
It is way of linking Production orders of HALB to FERT within same BOM & provide addtional functionality like goods issue( Not goods receipt) on HALB production order not needed . If you have BOM of FERT with atleast one subassembly(HALB) & if you define procurement type E & spl proc type 52 for HALB, HALB production order is linked to FERT production order. Lot sizing procedure is ignored for HALB & qty of both production order will  be same.
In addtion , if you select 'Collective order with Goods movement' in OPJH,  Goods issue of HALB to FERT production order is posted automatically when Goods receipt on HALB production order is done.
It addresses requirement of having seperate production order for HALB( for tracking ) , but since it is consumed /used for higher level assembly(Doesn't go to Store/WH) , no need to remember to good issue to higher production order.
It is way of reducing transactions on shop floor
If you define HALB as phantom, all of pain above is not needed
    Hope ite helps,
    Jatin

  • Engineer to Order Scenario-Target Costs and Stock Valuation

I have got a query  pertaining to Engineer to  Order Scenario. A production order has been created with WBS element as the account assignment .Its a valuated project stock scenario, with configurable material. As per SAP standard behaviour  and my limited knowledge, the Goods Receipt for FERT/HALB happens according to either of the four strategies:
    •     Standard Price ( if there exists one)
    •     Customer Exit COPCP002
    •     Sales Order Cost Estimate
    •     Preliminary Order Cost Estimate for prod order
However ,I have come across a case where although a preliminary order cost estimate exists for the production order, the system is not able to determine target costs. As a result the entire variance is posted as remaining variance at the time doing a variance calculation on the production order. Moreover at the time of Goods Receipt for FERT material, the system passses an entry Price diff A/c -Debit to Cost of Production, instead of debiting Inventory  and crediting cost of production(Price Control is S, no standard price exists for the material)
    Thus my query is :
    1) In case of Engineer to Order Valuated Stock Scenario where prod order is created with reference to WBS element, how is the standard price (or target costs for version 0) determined
    2) Under what situation at the time of goods receipt ,will an entry " Price diff A/c Dr & cost of production-Credit will be posted, instead of  Inventory A/c being debited?
    Awaiting a reply
    -Regards
    Amit Kulkarni

    Hi Amit
the easy answer first: The standard price is just taken out of the material segment without WBS assignment. That means if you maintain a standard price in the accounting view of the material master for the material number + plant that will be the fallback to be used. That will at least reuslt in a inventory posting, instead of pure price differences (against a price of zero)
Why your production order cost estimate could not be derived I cannot say. But he first startegy will be to search for the cost estimate to the WBS. Is there not something in the project system to perform a project costing and save it? in that case that will be searched and used for the order target cost and inventory posting.
    best regards,
                      Udo

  • Steps to setup Direct Production in SAP

    Hello gurus.
Could someone post a link to a guide; or the steps to setting up Direct Production in a Plant?
We have a final assembly that has a multilevel BOM; what we want is to create one production order for the final assembly and have the production orders of all subassemblies below it automatically created and linked to the final assembly.
We would like to be able to confirm the Production Order for the final assembly and have the rest of them automatically confirmed as well, performing all of the backflushes and costing necessary.
    Thank you.

    Direct production:
Once production is done, the goods receipt for the components is completed in the warehouse in a way that goods issue of the components can be carried out for the production order of the superior assembly.
Components are produced directly for the higher-level assembly and consumed...
If you want to use direct production for a particular component all the time, you have to enter the special procurement key for direct production in the material master for the component (MRP 2 view).
If you want to use direct procurement for a particular BOM only, you have to enter the special procurement key for direct procurement in the corresponding BOM item in the MRP data area. This entry overwrites the entry in the material master.
If you have activated direct production in the material master, you can switch off direct production for a particular BOM, if you deactivate direct production in the MRP data area of the corresponding BOM item under Explosion type. This entry overwrites the entry in the material master.

    HI Manoja,
    a) Integration between Sales Order and  Inventory module.
While creating sales order due to Strategy group in MRP3 view of material master does an availability check and determines the first date of availability.
b)Integration between delivery and  Inventory module.
At the time of PGI (Goods issue)
Cost of Goods Sold is debited due to configuration in OBYC GBB T-Key To Inventory Account
c)Integration between Invoice and FI module.
In account assignment(that reminds me of your previous que CONDITION TECHNIQUE is used for Account Determination as well)
    Tcode VKOA
Also when Billing document is released to Accounting
Customer Account is debited for the amount in Invoice.
and credited to Sales Revenue Account
Hope this clarifies to some extent
    Post for further clarification

  • PGPs - Costs and Deadlines

    Hello,
throughout various RTSJ publications is said, that ProcessingGroups implement a Server with a certain capacity, period and deadline.
Various Servers are presented for handling aperiodic load, or for encapsulation of application/component-threads providing a kind of application/component-budged.
Unfortunatelly using the current Version of SUNs Java RTS, I was not able to produce any cost overrun, nor a deadline miss for a group of some RealtimeThreads.
Is there any form of cost/time monitoring for ProcessingGroups, or are they simply a hint for feasibility analysis and cost enforcment? I have expected at least a deadline miss handler invocation, but nothing happened.
I am afraid I don't understand clearly the use case for PGPs, since Processing Groups neither have a kind of wFNP() nor is it clear for me on what a "deadline miss" of a group depends?
I woul be very glad aboud a short explaination, or a hint that makes me understand that stuff.
    Thanks in advance,
    Vladimir

    Dear David Holmes,
thank you for your reply on my question.
Well, I have already read most of Prof Andy Wellings papers about Servers and Scheduling in RTSJ, as also his book about real-time programming in Java and the book of Peter Dibble.
When mentioned therein, PGPs in RTSJ are mostly treated in a theoretical way, explaining similarly to you they role as sporadic servers in the real-time Java platform.
My problem in understanding the manner of the ProcessingGroupParameters is a more practical one.
If I would like to implement a server for whatever kind of load (aperiodic, sporadic or even periodic tasks), on which amount could I rely on already supported mechanisms by the JVM?
When PGPs contain a cost value, then it is up to me to implement monitoring mechanisms for the contained threads executions and to substract their consumed CPU time from the Server (Processing Group) cost.
E.g. cost monitoring and enforcment for Processing Groups is optional, as it is also for real-time threads.
Real-Time threads have at least a release time, probably a period and a deadline. Their execution is mandated by the PriorityScheduler with the help of the cyclic driver.
Although PGPs also provide the same values as threads, they are not "released" in this sense, and their deadlines are not monitored.
Ordering of thread releases within a group in relation to its "release time" and period, as also the monitoring of their deadlines in relation to the groups overall deadline seems to depend on application logic itself.
This brings me in confusion with the purpose of this class (PGP) since everithing one would need from it must be self-implemented.
Or better: when using a RT-JVM which does not support cost monitoring and enforcement, what is the chance for me to implement a kind of Server using the PGPs, since they are intended for that ?
Sorry for my doubting comments on that, I know that costs and feasibility are optional in RTSJ in order to gain a greater acceptance by JVM vendors,
which otherwise would have to stick with complex implementations of cost monitoring and feasibility algorithms for their JVMs.
I have a common scenario of some applications of different criticality, and processing groups would seem to be the right thing for their scheduling an degradation.
E.g. if an application has consumed up its Server capacity, its threads shall be degraded on a background priority and replenished again on next Server release.
By the way, this is very common scenario which is very often applied in the papers of Prof. Wellings and in which PGPs are heavily involved.
Unfortunatelly, it seems to me impossible to realise it with the current stage of Java RTS, unless I implement a kind of cost monitoring and enforcement.
Here, the only thing I can rely on are the release times, periods and deadlines of real-time threads.
    Sincerely,
    Vladimir

  • Direct Procurement and Direct Production

    Dear all,
Can you please explain to me what is "Direct Procurement", and "Direct Production" base on the following points:
1 - What is the process about?
2 - How and when business requirement will bump into and using these two processes?
    3 - Example
Please don't copy and paste the SAP help portal explanation as I have read the SAP help-portal and am NOT understand
    thanks very much
    tuffy

    Dear Tuffy,
    Direct Production:
1.The components for which individual production orders are created in a collective order concept are called as directly
    produced component.
2.In my understanding these components are identified with the value 52 set for special procurement key in MRP2 view of the
    material master.
3.Direct production cannot be set for the components that have any one of the indicator set for - by product, co-
product, alternative item with usage probablity 0 or alternative item with strategy 2,discontinued material, follow up material, intra
    material.
4.This concept atleast helps in understanding the cost breakup than the phantom assembly concept.
    5. Example:
You want to produce a pump. The BOM for the pump contains a pressure regulating valve and a spiral casing. You want to
enter these two components in separate production orders, but you do not want them to be posted to stock.
You set the special procurement type to direct production in the material master record for the pressure regulating valve and
the spiral casing, so that production occurs using a collective order.
When you create a production order for the pump, a collective order is automatically created, which contains subordinate
production orders for the pressure regulating valve and the spiral casing.
    Direct Procurement:__
1.Direct Procurement is generally used for non-stock items that is defined with item category N or defined using special
    procurement key for direct procurement.
2.This is widely used in the case of Make ot order or Engineer to Order production where the stock of such materials are not
    inventory managed.

  • Cost of Goods Sold and Inventory Value

    Hi
I am looking to setup KPI for Inventory Turns in BI. This needs "Cost of Goods Sold" and "Inventory Value" for Orders for a Plant.
I wanted to know if this information is directly available in any standard extract or do I need to write a Custom Extract for this. I did try searching for this but not able to find this information directly. Do I need to derive the information from some other Key Figures?
    TIA
    Abhishek

COGS Value we are getting for the COGS GL Account from FIGL. We are using the extract 0FI_GL_4 and then from the DSO 0FIGL_O02
Inventory value we are taking from the Cube 0IC_C03. Please note that the Transformations to the DataSource 2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_03_BF and 2LIS_03_UM are available in the latest Patch 11 for BI Content 703 and should be used instead of the old Transfer Rule/Update Rule.

  • Flow material product cost to sales order cost and no explosion of structur

    Hello,
We have a business requirement - Business is currently performing product costing at material on monthly basis using quantity structure (with help of avaiable bom and routings). Material costing nicely gives the cost with clear split of material cost, labour cost, external cost etc. Then at sales order level we want to do the preliminary sales order costing. The reason for sales order planned costing is, we are performing result analysis revenue based by comparing planned cost. Business is saying, we already calculated the material cost, labour cost at the product level and same should be as it is transferred to the sales order planned cost and we just want to add the overheads.
The cost already calculated should directly pass to sales order and the order should not explode the BOMs again or try to find activity prices from routings. Then with the already available values of material, labour costs, system should only add the overheads via costing sheet.
The cost compenent structure exploded in material should be passed to sales order and not just the total cost.
There are several reasons I believe sap should not allow this behaviour. I seek your inputs to validate the same.

THIS SHOULD BE POSSIBLE WITH "TRANSFER STRATEGIES" - TCODE OKKM.
GO BY THE BELOW GIVEN PATH AND TRY.
READ IMG DOCUMENTATION FIRST, THEN TRY.
