Costs of the product calculation lack in the profitability analysis

Hello there,
A group of students and I are currently working on a SAP project which is about to implement a full cost accounting in the SAP system (ERP). At first we used a case study reading (Friedl,Hilz,Pedell), some important components for calculating the products like u201Ccosting sheetu201D, u201Ccost component structureu201D and u201Ccosting variantu201D do exist already.
For our project we had to insert an additional primary cost center. For that reason we also added new components (the above given ones). After that the costs for our products could be calculated in the right way. We also booked supplies and stated the quantity of sales. Our problem is that the Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) does not show any costs of our cost centers (material input, manufacturing costs, overhead costs) only the earnings. We did not add any u201Cattributesu201D, u201Cderivation rulesu201D or u201Cvalue fieldsu201D but fulfilled all requirements in the Customizing menu (u201CAssign costing key to productu201D, u201CAssign costing key to productu201D, u201CAssign value fields for cost component structureu201D).
The first time when we used the case study reading and therefore another company code everything worked fine. We think that the problem might be that the costing key is not attached to the products.
Thank you for any help and suggestions,
Kind regards!

In the same area as where you assign the costing key to the product, there is also an entry where you need to define the costing key. You don'tr mention that you have done that.
In the user menu for Profitability Analysis, there are also a lot of tcodes that will help you investigate the flows of values and derivation of characteristics. They are very helpful in most cases.

  • Order value fields by field label in the profitability analysis document

    Hello,
I am displaying a profitability analysis document and I want to order the value fields by their technical name (VV001, VV002, VV003...) instead of in alphabetical order (the system orders them by the field label).
    Is it possible?
    Thank you very much

    Hello,
Check in KE4M whether sd condition type FKLMG  is mapped corresponding value field in COPA.As you are getting the value for other company codes, this setting should be there.
You can also try checking simulation of billing document transfer through KE4ST. Check the details analysis

  • COPA Values in the Profitability analysis for a credit memo request

    Hi All,
When I am trying to create an Invoice document for a Credit Memo request having a Configurable material , in the accounting document profitable analysis Profit Center view fields are not getting updated.
If we do the same thing for a reference material profit center view fields are getting updated properly.
What is the problem with the Configurable  material.
    Thanks in advance,
    RajaMahi

I would start fresh with a new sales order.  When you create with reference both the return delivery and credit memo are created with reference to the return sales order.  Here is an example document flow to clarify:
Document                                      Date               Qty/value   UoM/Cur   Overall proc. status
                                                                                    Return 60000077 / 10                          08/25/05               10.000  EA      Completed
    . Returns Delivery 500000016 / 10             08/25/05               10.000  EA      Completed
    .. GD returns QI 4900030060 / 1               08/25/05               10.000  EA      complete
    .. Credit for Returns1 10000017 / 10          08/25/05               10.000  EA      Completed

  • How to update sales order number (KAUFN) characteristic in the profitability segment of the PA document created at the time of service entry sheet confirmation, as a result of shipment cost document

    Hi,
We have a scenario wherein we create shipment cost documents against delivery. As a result of shipments fully transferred, a PO for freight vendor is automatically created and a service entry sheet confirmation happens. As a result of service entry sheet confirmation, we have Financial accounting, Controlling and profitability analysis documents created. We have a requirement wherein we need to have the characteristic “sales order number (KAUFN)” populated in the profitability analysis document created as a result of service entry sheet confirmation.
Could someone please advice how could this be attained in COPA. Thanks for your help in advance.
    Regards,
    Sandeep

    Hi Ajay,
Thank you for the quick update.
The document is updated to COPA through OKB9 settings. The profitability segment is updated with fields like customer, product, company code, plant, sales area data, profit center, etc; however the sales order number is missing.
Could you please elaborate further how could FI substitution be implemented to call for the FM COPA_PROFITABILITY_SEGMENT through user exit? Are you recommending the substitution through GGB1? What could be the possible validation to call for the user exit to be implemented?

  • Use an additional cost in the cost calculation

How to make to use one or more additional costs during the calculation of the cost of a finished product
    Could you help me, please.

You can use additive costs to add costs to a product other than the cost estimate.CK74n

  • Average Costs of the Finished Products

    Hi,
We are using the process order concept and we are calculating the costs of each FG seperately and our finished products are different kind of sizes and types.
And the requirement here is that if we want to calculate the average cost of the two FG how we can do this ?
    For Example
Product 1 is manufactured and the arrived cost is $ 30
Porduct 2 is manufactured and the arrived cost is $ 10
And if we use the ratios of 60 and 40 and we determine the avergae cost of (3060%+1040%)/100= $ 22
And we adjust this $ 22 with Product cost of A and Product B.

    What is FG?

  • Use of template using CPT1 for charging an additional cost to the product

    Hello,
I'm trying to charge an additional cost burden to the cost of my product for every base unit produced. (cost estimate)
I have created a template using transaction CPT1 with sender as Cost Center / Activity Type in environment 001
The activity type is measured in EA (Eaches) while we make our product in boxes (Product base unit of measure is 'Boxes') with say 20 Eaches going into a Box
I have maintained an activity price using transaction KP26 at say $0.55 per Each
I have assigned this template to my costing sheet , valuation area and overhead key using transaction KTPF
When I now cost the material for costing lot size of a 1000 boxes, it still charges the product with the activity price per Each ($0.55) instead of multiplying  $0.55*20*1000 = $11,000 for a 1000 boxes
The formula I have chosen in the template against 'Plan quantity ' is in the attachment enclosed:
I need help with doing the right thing within the template to make it give a cost burden of $11000 for every 1000 boxes costed (costing lot size)

Didn't realize that you have to use transaction CPTD to charge template overhead to production orders. That's why it was not working. Now it is posting by reading the confirmed yield. But it is still not converting eaches to boxes using the conversion factor in the material master.
The formula I'm currently using in the template for actual quantity is as under:
    OrderYieldConfirmed / AltQtyFactorFromMaterial( AlternativeQuantityUnit
    = 'BX', Material = OrderMaterialNumber )
Please tell me what I need to do to the above formula to make it convert boxes to eaches using conversion factor in the material master?
A similar formula has worked beautifully for 'cost estimate'
    OrderTotalQuantity / AltQtyFactorFromMaterial( AlternativeQuantityUnit =
    'BX', Material = OrderMaterialNumber )

  • How to know the items cost from the production order.

    Dear friends,
When We close a production order, if we go to the summary tab we can see the total cost of the real component and cost of the real item.   My question is how to know the cost of every component used for the real product? I run the stock Audit  report, and there I see a field named Calcprice, in what table where can I find this field? to get the cost individual for each component in the moment i close the PO.
    Thanks a lot.
    Daniel

    Thanks a lot to everybody.
    You are right Thanga,
That is the data I need, but how can I get it via query because I dont find the field to know the cost in the exactly moment when is created the receipt of productiion.  I was trying to locate in tables IGN1 -- IGN12 but I dont get the cost field.
Do you have any idea how can I make a report?

I would like to display the cost like in hte transaction IH05, depending of the level in the bom.
Is somebody know a mean to do that.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Jean
With "Print preview of entire hierarchy", what I see in my system is exactly what you want
    What i did is this
    1. Execute CK11N for p1
    2. Do not click on Costing Str on or off
    3. SImply click on the printer icon as i said and "Print preview of entire hierarchy"
    What I see is
    P1
    Under P1, I see
    AS1
        - C2
        - C3
    C1

    Hi everyone,
How can I transfer to PA the target costs of a production order?
    Thanks
    Cátia Pereira

    Hi
    1. Check your settings in KE4U - Strategy 001 must be assigned to PV=01 and Rec Type F
Tick the "Mat Cstng" indicator and assign COPA Qty Field ABSMG
    2. Assign costing key to Mat Type in KE4J or KEPC
    3. assign Cost Comp Str to VF in KE4R
    4. Assign Value Fields to your variance categories in PA Transfer Structure....
Tick "Variances to Costing Bsed COPA" in your settlement profile

  • Additional costs while the product is at your warehouse...how to link?

    Hello experts,
I was wondering if SAP lets you add costs to lots after they have been recieved to a particular warehouse.
    Example:
We recieved a shipment containing 2 lot numbers. Once is in our warehouse, we performed an additional lab test to one of the lot numbers. So how do you vinculate this additional costs to the lot? What options do I have to affect the inventory value with the correct information?
    Kind regards

    Hello Gordon,
I have tested but landed costs is a complex alternative.
If I want to base the new landed costs on the original Landed Cost Document, there is a problem with the warehouse allocation. At the inital Landed cost document the warehouse was "In transit" but at the 2nd Landed Cost document it will be " General". however, if I copy from initial document I cannot change the warehouse.........
I tried as weel the inventory revaluation and think it wil probably be the best alternative. Is there any way to include the batch information on this document. Would you suggest a UDF?
    Thanks

  • Distributing Actual Costs to the Product Level

We are using Material Ledger at my client and we have some things such as Freight, Depreciation etc. being added to the standard cost as an additive cost. For the actual values for these is it possible to include this in the ML actual cost without having to go through MR22?
    Thank you

    Hello,
I think you need to rethink the scenario. Freight should have been added to the material cost at the time of procurement and depreciation should flow from cost centers. Another alternate can be that you post actual freight and depreciation both in cost centers , define activity for them , plan them as well and use formula based planning templates to allocate so that they are build up in the cost estimate as well and in actuals they are actualised through the cost center route.

  • Cost of the goods

    Dear Forum,
When the goods issue to order or cost center, the cogs debited and inventory credited.
1 May I know when is the cost being calculated so that when the time I do GI, the system know how much to post.
2 Normally how many kind of cost included?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    1. Cost of manufacture of a Product is what the value of goods sold or Cost of Goods sold (COGS). Either, you use the SAP Costing module (CO-PC) to let SAP determine COGS or you can manullay input COGS into material master fields (Standard or Moving Average) in Accounting view of Material master. In either case, COGS is stored in the material master valuation (Accounting) view.
    2. You mean in a COGS? Whatever costs it takes to manufacture a product is included in COGS, for instance Material cost, Labor cost etc.,
    Hope this helps.
