Could not find trusted cert in chain

Hi,
Environment:
The server and client are both located on the same Sun Solaris 2.8 box.
MQ Series V 5.3 CSD07
Could not find trusted cert in chain.
main, SEND SSL v3.0 ALERT: fatal, description = certificate_unknown
main, WRITE: SSL v3.0 Alert, length = 2
JMSException thrown javax.jms.JMSException: MQJMS2005: failed to create MQQueueManager for 'localhost:QM_SSL'
Linked Exception com.ibm.mq.MQException: MQJE001: Completion Code 2, Reason 2397
Has anyone encounter this error? I have self-signed certificates and the CA is installed on both client and server and I have CA signed certificate on Client (clients.jks)
Any pointer would be highly appreciated. Thank you.
Raj

1.Check the cacerts path if u are using cacerts
2.U Can use keystore
3.U need to install the certificate on the client machine as the warning is treated as error on handshake.
4.to debug use:
On IBM's JVM, add: -Djavax.net.debug=true
On Sun's JVM, add: -Djavax.net.debug=ssl

I know there are loads of posts with same issue and most of them were related to proxy and connectivity .
This was case for me as well (few months back). Now the same error is back. But I've confirmed that FW ports and proxy are fine this time around.

I've checked proxy server connectivity. I'm able browse following site from WSUS server
    http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx?sku=wsus&version=3.2.7600.226&protocol=1.8
I did telnet proxy server on the particular port (8080) and that is also fine.
I've doubt on certificates, any idea which are the certificates which we need to look? And if certificate is expired then (my guess) we won't be able open the above mentioned windows update catalog site?
    Any tips appreciated !

Hi Lawrence ! - Many thanks for looking into this thread and replying. Appreciate your help.
Your reply  ("SSL is enabled/configured, and the certificate being used is invalid
(or the cert does not exist or cannot be obtained), or the SSL connection could not be established.") is very helpful.
I've already tested CONTENT DOWNLOAD and it's working fine. WSUS Sync was also working fine for years with proxy server configured on port (8080) and WSUS server on port 80.
My Guess (this is my best guess ;)) is this something to do with Firewall or Proxy side configuration rather than WSUS. However, I'm not finding a way to prove this to proxy/firewall team. From their perspective all the required port communication open and
proxy server is also reachable. More over we're able to access internet (Microsoft Update Catalog site) over same port (8080).
Any other hints where I can prove them it's a sure shot problem from their side.
    Thanks again !!

  • Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel with authority

Hello everyone, I need to establish a connection between my HTTPS WCF hosted in Windows Azure Web Role and my Windows Store App Client. The service is actually exposed for testing purposes using a self-signed certificate.
I have installed the certificate in Personal and Trusted Root Certification Authorities in Current User and Local Manchine.
In the Windows Store App, I create the service reference pointing to the cloud https service, then edit the manifest and create a new declaration to Add a New Certificate, I checked Exclusive Trust and Auto select, pointing to Root storage name and
    my self-signed certificate.cer.
The result is the following exception in the IntelliTrace stack:
Exception:Caught: "The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure." (System.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationException)
A System.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationException was caught: "The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure."

Appreciate any help, to solve this with the approach of WCF Service Reference in Windows Store App.
    Note:
If I call the HTTPS service using a Console App it works very good using the following the code:
    ChannelFactory<IAgentService> factory = new ChannelFactory<IAgentService>("basicHttpBinding_IAgentService");
    ServicePointManager.ServerCertificateValidationCallback = (sender, cert, chain, error) => true;
    IAgentService wcfProxy = factory.CreateChannel();
    Thanks in advance,
    RC

    Maybe not implemented.

  • Problem with Cisco Bars after Database Republish ("Could not find Cisco Unified database on this server")

    OS Version: 2000.4.3a
    OS Service Release: 2000.4.5bSR21
    OS Upgrade: 2000.4.5a
    Bars Version: 4.0.15000
    CUCM Version: 4.2(3)sr4b
During the upgrade process of our CUCM 4.2(3) to version CUCM 4.2(3)sr4b the database replication between our 2 servers (1x pub, 1x sub) failed. After fixing this via dbhelper tool (everthing´s green and smiling again) service seemed to be ok.
But now Cisco Bars does not work anymore. The backup process of the publisher fails with "Error=[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL-Server connection." So it looks like some kind of database setting for bars  is misconfigured after the republishing process.
Yesterday I tried to reinstall BARS (now in the newest version 4.0.150000), but the same error message occured. Now I get the message "Could not find Cisco Unified database on this server" when I try to configure the Backup source within BARS.
Curiously the backup of our second CCM (sub) works as expected (but without CDR and TFTP Data). The "BackAdmin" User exists and is not locked (and wasn´t changed manually at all).
I am runnig out of ideas... :-(
Any hint or idea on how to fix this is kindly appreciated
    best regards
    Michael

    Mike,
I don't have anything definitive here but I am wondering if there is a discrepency between the database names.  In SQL Enterprise Manager, you can go to the Publisher and see what the current database name is.  It will be the one being replicated and will take the form of CCM0300 or CCM0301 or CCM0302.  You should see more than one.  Anyway, take note of the name.
Then on the Publisher launch regedit and go to HKLM\Software\Cisco Systems, Inc.\DBL\
Look at the values for DBConnection0 and DBConnection1.
It will be something like DSN=CiscoCallManager;Server=;DATABASE=;Trusted_Connection=yes
Does the in the DSN match what you expect?
Also, going to back to SQL Enterprise Manager, check out the permissions on the database (Right Click->Properties, go to Permissions tab).
Another thing to check if you think it is permissions related is the AdminUtility.exe (c:\program files\cisco\bin\).  This can be used to resync system account passwords.
TBH, I am just shooting in the dark here but these are things I would check.
    Regards,
    Bill

    Hi Rebecca.
    1) Please verify if exist process types called 'unknown job'. If exist:  delete process types called 'unknown job' in your process chain. To do that please remove the chain from scheduling (menu bar > process chain > remove from schedule), afterwards switch the detail view on (menu bar >  view) > right mouse click on the process type "unknown job" > displaying scheduled jobs > delete that job. After deletion of the 'unknown jobs' activate and schedule your process chain again.
    2) After the removal of the 'unknown jobs' please check if the error messages with the missing variants pop up when calling your process chain disappears. If not, please implement and execute the attached report Z_FIND_JOBS_WITHOUT_VARIANT which deletes the jobs without variants.
I have already attached report as Report Z_FIND_JOBS_WITHOUT_VARIANT, you can download and create the report accordingly.

  • ACL migration Error : 1210 could not find a domain controller for domain "Test Domain" (Old Domain)

    Hi
We are migrating from old domain to new domain. Before live migration, we are trying to check the ACE/ACL migration through SubInACL. We are running the SubInACL on a cluster, which is a member of the Old Domain (Test Domain). We are able to resolve and
ping both Old Domain and the New domain from this cluster machine. We have created a network share on this cluster, which is accessible to all Domain Users of the Old Domain. Both Domains have two way forest level trust. we are trying to migrate
the ACL of this share (\\ClusterMachine\testshare$) to the new domain using SubInACL. We are trying to run the below command to get it done.
    subinacl /outputlog=C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\Migrationlog.txt /subdirectories
    \\ClusterMachine\testshare$\*.* /migratetodomain=OldDomain=NewDomain=mappingfile.txt
Mapping file contains : Domain Users=NewDomain_Users
But we are geeting the Error that "1210 could not find a domain controller for domain "Test Domain". Error finding domain name : 1210 the format of the specified computer name is invalid. Current Object "\\ClusterMachine\testshare$"
    will not be processed."

    Hello,
how in detail is DNS set up in each domain?
Any problems when using nslookup to verify?

  • Office Web Apps 2013 + could not establish trust relationship

We currently have a three tier SharePoint 2013 Farm:
    1. Web Front End Server (Server 2008 R2 Enterprise) - Servername: TEST2SP013.domain.dom
    2. Central Admin Server (Server 2008 R2 Enterprise) - Servername: TEST2SPCA013.domain.dom
    3. SQL Server (Server 2012 Datacenter) - Servername: TESTSQL012.domain.dom
All Machines are in the same IP/Subnet.
We are trying to setup a new server (Server 2012 R2 Datacenter) (Servername: TEST022.domain.dom) to run Office Web Apps 2013 in our TEST environment to test the system before rolling in production and have had issues throughout the entire process.
The technet articles we have used are:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219435.aspx
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff431687.aspx
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219627.aspx
We finally have what I thought was a correct setup but anytime we try to edit or view a word, excel, powerpoint document within SharePoint 2013, we receive "Sorry, there was a problem and we can't open this document. If this happens again, try opening
    the document in Microsoft Word."
We found a few How-To Setup Office Web Apps sites where other people provided step-by step instructions:
    blogs.msdn.com/b/sowmyancs/archive/2012/10/29/install-configure-amp-monitor-office-web-apps-2013-for-sp-2013.aspx

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/justin_gao/archive/2013/06/30/configuring-office-web-apps-server-communication-using-https.aspx
We reviewed the ULS logs and found the following error:
    02/14/2014 13:38:40.24  w3wp.exe (0x1C04)                        0x1BB4 Office Web Apps

None of the article provide specific step-by-step instructions with using HTTPS in a test environment specifically when it comes to Self-Signed Certs through Active Directory Certificate Services.
We tried creating a Self-Signed Cert through IIS on the Office Web Apps Box which did not work.
We tried creating a Cert through Active Directory Certificate Services which did not work.
We tried adding the Cert through Central Admin > Security > Manage Trust which did not help.
We verified "get-spwopizone" is set to internal-https
We can access the Web Apps https://test022/hosting/discovery site and view the XML with no issue on any machine on our network.
We added our domain to the list of approved domains that can use Office Web Apps as well as add "Domain Users" as the security group that can "EDIT" Office Documents through Office Web Apps.
After each step, we tried performing either a system reboot or IIS Reset on the Office Web Appcs and WFE box.
My Question is how do we generate a certificate (either self-signed through IIS on the Office Web Apps Box or through AD) that will allow this application to work? I read that the Fully Qualified Domain Name needs to be in the SAN field of the Cert but when
we request it, I have no way of entering this information. I tried following http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff625722 to manually request a certificate with a Custom SAN but that did not work either.
I am assuming the certificate issue is with the New Office Web Apps box. Is this correct?
    -Chris

If internal cert then you will have to add certificate from OWA to tursted certificates in each sharepoint server plus add the certificate from central admin in Sharepoint through manage trust. Also you will need to install p7b file (file that contains
path to root certificate to verify each intermediate certificate) for internal cert to each sharepoint server to not get certificate error.

  • SSRS Report Server Could not establish connection. The underlying connection was closed. Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS Secure channel

    Hi
Had to un-install and then re-install MS SQL Server 2012 with SSRS.
After we re-installed we are able to get to the Web Services page but not the Report Server page and get the above error message. We need to use SSL and when we bind the cert in RS Configuration Manager it says it does this successfully on the WebServices
tab. We also do a similar exercise on the ReportServer page.
    Any help warmly welcomed :D
    Thanks

    Hi Rich Whight,
According to your description, after you re-installed SQL Server 2012 with SSRS, you are able to access Web Service URL, but when you tried to access Report Manager URL, the error occurred: The underlying connection was closed. Could not establish trust
relationship for the SSL/TLS Secure channel.
The issue may be caused when the certificate isn't installed correctly in the trusted root for the local computer. To verify and install the certificate, Please refer to the steps blow:
    In RsReportServer.config file(default location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer), change the “SecureConnectionLevel” element value from 0 to 3.
Add correct value to <UrlRoot> element.
Add the same value to the <ReportServerUrl> element as step2.
Go to Microsoft management Console, add the certificate which you use to access the report server under “Trusted Root Certification Authorities”.
For more information about SSL configuration and Managing Trusted Root Certificates, please refer to the following documents:

    Hi
    Abhilash Francis,
Could you tell us your scenario?  What's your project? Is it a WCF service?
Looks like this is not a code issue.
    Just from the error information,
it seems that you do not configure the service certificate very well so as to Server was unable to process request.
I am not completely sure  what the real scenario is, but it might be a problem of that It is a WCF services application,  please check these following articles to configure the service certificate.
If not, please feel free to let me know.
How to: Configure an IIS-hosted WCF service with SSL

relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel
    Hope this helps.

You may need to add the SSL to the SharePoint Trusted Root Authority.Get the root cert for the site you are securing with HTTPS/SSL and add in SharePoint Trusted Root Authority. As explained here -

  • Could not find the log in SCUL for changes made into user.

    Hi,
We assigned role to user in prob system in CUA .
I cannot find who has made those changes into that user.
I have looked in SCUL but could not find it. I did not find any changes in SUIM.
Can anybody help me hjow can i find who has added that role.
    Thanks Rajesh
Edited by: Rajesh Nanda on Apr 1, 2009 12:10 AM

    Hi Rajesh,
this is the normal behaviour. The user gets changed in the CUA-child system by the user who is used in the RFC-connection form CUA master to cua child. Only in the case you use a trusted/trusting RFC connection, the user who performs the changes in the central system connects also to the child systems. Only in that case you will find the 'real' user as changer in the child system change docs.
With SAP note # 1079207 new change documents are delivered for the CUA-case. To evaluate that changedocs you can use the new report rsusr100n (Ithink ,that it is still not integrated in SUIM until now, so you have to start it in se38,...)

We're facing a development problem, which while it isn't stopping us from working, but it's seriously slowing down our progress. It goes something like this ...
We have a ColdFusion interface to an Oracle PACKAGE, "package A". "Package A" invokes "package B", and "package B" invokes "package C". We're actively working on "package C", the last in the chain, and then testing those changes from the ColdFusion interface.
Everytime we run a CREATE OR REPLACE on "package C" (we've tried both compiling only the BODY, as well as the SPEC and the BODY), we get the following error from ColdFusion when we test from the interface:
ORA-06508  PL/SQL: Could not find the program unit being calledIf we wait a bit, everything starts working again. Note that while we are waiting, "package C" is not being recompiled. So it's functioning fine. Our best guess is that there something happening due the connection pooling process in place. Maybe ... if you're lucky enough to latch onto a new connection, then the error doesn't appear? But, if you connect to a session that was present when "package C" was recompiled, then you get the ORA-06508? These connections are using a JDBC driver.
I guess I expected to get the ORA-04061 error ("Existing state of the package has been discarded"), and that is coming up more rarely than the ORA-06508, but the "could not find the program unit" is just stopping our efforts until everything starts working again.
I found some suggestions online (http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/14555/2/) which claim that the SHARED POOL should be flushed and that will help with this error, but I'm not sure I need to bring an A-bomb to a fist-fight. Plus, these PACKAGES aren't huge, so I'm not sure we're encountering the memory limits focused upon in those other posts:
    package A: 1533 lines
    package B: 1015 lines
    package C: 1842 lines
Anyone have a suggestion for us to follow-up on? Like I said, we're not dead in the water, but this is getting pretty frustrating.
    Thanks,

I think the problem is related to the connection pooling. If you have 5 persistent sessions held open by the application server say C1, C2, ... C5 then if you have called the package from C1 , C2, and C3 then if the package is recompiled the session copy of the package variables and records no longer matches the package and an error is issued. But if the call is made from C4 or C5 it works since the work in storage areas are all initialized from the new version of the package.
In the old days (7.x, 8.0) I remember seeing a Package State has changed message but recently at least on AIX we see the Program Unit not found when this happens. We used to see this message only if we could not load the package into the shared pool due to memory issues.
Anyhow we bounce one of our Web based applications to avoid this program. That is the local customer has us stop the application, make the change, revalidate packages, and restart so they never see the error since with a large connection pool significant time can pass between the change and an error being encountered.
In theory you should just be able to reissue the package procedure call since the first call should have resulted in the work in storage being re-initialized.
