I would like to know that is there any counterpart to the InterlockedExchange routine available with win api
The InterlockedExchange function atomically exchanges a pair of values. The function prevents more than one thread from using the same variable

im sorry about the square thingy. what i was thinking awhile ago was my old cellphone the nokia n78. and that square thingy one was kind of look like a "simcard" and located on the side of the battery bar on the upper right hand side of the screen.
and from what i remember when i used to have that phone even if i wasnt using the WLAN, that square thingy was just stay there.

Help!! I'm on an unstable internet connection in Nepal (can't be helped or changed), and the download keeps failing. Any way to continue the download when internet reconnects?

The title should say it all, but to go in more detail, here's the situation:
I run a production company and I have to deliver a project file to my counterpart in the next two days. Before I left for Nepal I switched from my desktop to my laptop, and did not realize my laptop had an older version of Premiere installed. So when I went to open the project file, it would not open it because it says it was created in a newer version and cannot be opened. So I've been trying and trying and trying to download the new program via the creative cloud desktop app. Obviously this is going to take a long time with internet speeds in Nepal, and there is absolutely NO way around this. Developing country, power goes on and off without warning, etc.
The thing I'm having a hard time with is that each time my computer disconnects from the internet, then reconnects, the enormously long download has to completely start over again. I even got as far as 28% on one of my overnight downloads only to have to start over again in the morning when I woke up because the connection wavered in my sleep. UGH!!
My main question is this: is there anywhere (ANYWHERE!!!) that I can connect directly to the adobe servers to download this program with included internet breaks, kind of like FTP, or Dropbox, or anything of the sort. It's incredibly frustrating (and kind of a huge Adobe oversight) that if the internet connection breaks during a download, that you have to start over again. Why can't it pick up again when the connection is restored? Is there any way around this? Please please help, I am on a very tight deadline before Xmas and need any help I can get!!

Erin I am sorry you are facing difficulty downloading the Creative Cloud software. It can be frustrating when you do not have access to high speed stable Internet.
You can attempt to download the base installers and updates by following the directions listed at:

You may want to attempt to utilize some form of download management as the main issue seems to be the stability of your connection.
There is not currently a method to resume downloads within the Creative Cloud Desktop application. There is download management included though it may not be enough to compensate for the current Internet connection. In a nutshell, the Air is a lightened, more compact system than the 13" Pro counterpart. The Air loses some hardware features to accommodate the physical downsizing.
No FireWire port
No built-in optical drive
A lesser performing CPU to retain battery charge life, and adequate cooling.
No Ethernet port
No Kensington lock slot
The Air does have a superior native resolution at 1440 x 900, and a standard SSD that does make up alot of the speed differential, and then some. Of course, the 13" Pro can be optionally configured with an SSD.
You buy the Air if the physical size an weight savings are demonstrably more important than the features lost.

How to change the timezone

Hi,
I have created a scheduler job during day light savings, the timezone when the job was created is -4.00 and the job ran successfully.
Now after the day light savings the job ran an hour earlier than before because of the dst. now the timezone is -5.00
I dont want to change the dbtimezone instead
do we have an option to alter the job to change the timezone of the particular job or do i need to recreate the job with needed timezone ???

How to change the timezone of all iCal events?

Hi!
After importing some items from another calendar most of my iCal events are "floating" and not fixed to any timzone. I would like to have them all in "Europe/Germany". Does anyone know howto set the timezone of all calendar events in one step together? Is there perhaps a solution in AppleScript?

Upgrade the old iMac before migrating to a new one or not?

Hi all,
I am planning to buy a new iMac and would like to migrate some of my stuff to it from an old iMac. And then I would also like to migrate some of my stuff from a still older MacBook onto this old iMac. Complicated enough? :-)
In short:
Step one: stuff from my 5 year old iMac with OS 10.7.5 Lion on it migrates to -----> a brand new iMac with Yosemite.
Step two: stuff from my 8 year old MacBook with OS 10.5.8 on it (and not upgradable any further) migrates to -----> the 5 year old iMac with OS 10.7.5 Lion on it.
Now, my questions are these:
1) Should I first upgrade the 5 year old iMac with OS 10.7.5 Lion on it to Yosemite before migrating my stuff from it to a brand new iMac with preinstalled Yosemite or not? Recommended, not recommended, neutral, what?
2) If the answer to the 1st question is "yes" (recommended), will I then be able to migrate my stuff from the 8 year old MacBook with OS 10.5.8 onto it? That is, will the two migration assistants (of OS 10.9 and OS 10.5) "talk" to each other at all?
Any further tips will be hugely appreciated!

I am afraid you misunderstood me a little bit… While you kindly explain to me ways of how to migrate my data from one computer to another, my question was not so much about "how" but rather about "whether":
a) should I first upgrade my old iMac (with 10.7.5 Lion on it) to Yosemite before migrating its data to the new iMac with preinstalled Yosemite? Will it help in any way or is it irrelevant?
b) and if the answer is "yes" (i. e. upgrade the old iMac to Yosemite), whether the migration assistant on the 8 year old MB will then be able to "talk" to its counterpart on the now upgraded old iMac?

What I am trying to do is make two computers out of three -
1) My wife's 8 year old MacBook will most probably go to the dustbin. Before it does, I would like to migrate her data to my 5 year old iMac which will then replace her MB (in the dustbin) and be hers forever after.
2) I will certainly have to migrate my own data from my 5 year old iMac to the new iMac which I am about to buy.
So the question remains: upgrade the old iMac for both purposes (s. above - #1 and #2) from Lion to Yosemite - yes, no, doesn't matter, what?

QM Related Error at the time delivery

After the sales order completion, i am getting this error message while doing delivery process.
1. Only 0 EA of material 12 available
2. Delivery quantity must be entered for the item
3. Error creating inspection lot for material 12
Before QM setup it is not occured but when i am assigning quality check in material master. I am getting these errors.

The first message indicates that there are no sufficient quantities available for that materials. You can verify that using transaction code MMBE. Alternatively you can run the availability check in the sales order itself. If the quantity is available then the system confirms the quantity at sales order item schedule line level.
The second message is the result of the first one.
The third message shows that since QM is activated, the inspection lot created for this material needs to have usage decision entered for the inspection lot. I am not sure, this material uses batches or not. If it uses batch, then you can check the status of the inspection lot using transaction codes QA02 or QA03 or QA32. Discuss with your QM counterpart for the details. If no inspection lot is created, let them create and enter the usage decision on it (like entering unrestricted use).

Why are drum pads not a valid MIDI input the screen controls pallet?

I'm slowly getting around to creating a Concert that represents my controller setup and realized that the drum pads have a different behavior.
When setting up my Korg nanoPAD as a drum sample controller, I have to map it to a keyboard and not a 2x6 drum pad group. If I do not assign it to a keyboard, I cannot associate it with a channel strip playing back an EXS drum kit. They keyboard drop down in the MIDI input properties for a channel strip will not list the nanoPAD as an input even though I have already associated the pads with their virtual counterparts in the Layout tab.
I can manually assign each pad to a MIDI note, but that sends the note event to all channel strips and I have no control over that.
What gives??
It looks really lame to have another keyboard widget in my concert layout when all want is a representation of the 12 pads on the nanoPAD.

In edit mode, you should be able to create mappings that effectively transform your incoming drum pad note into another note on a specific channel strip. You can create multiple mappings per drum pad in order to trigger different sounds on different notes per channel strip.
If you don't want a keyboard you can also use the "MIDI activity" object, it acts like a keyboard but takes up less space and doesn't display layers. It also glows to let you know that MIDI activity is coming in. Since all of the routing happens through screen objects, you need some sort of object there to do the routing -- either the MIDI activity object or the keyboard. The drum pads let you have additional flexibility since they allow you to make mappings (including changing patches, etc.), but the routing still needs to happen through one of the two routing objects unless you want to make each drum pad directly as I explained above.

Who to use the "exportDataFormat" option

I want to use the "exportDataFormat" option in ProcessFormSubmission to have only xml data.
Does anybody have an example please because I haven't good results.
If I don't use PDFToXDP=1, I have a pdf file and if I use it (exportDataFormat=XMLData), I don't know how to add my option

You can use each element in your XML file as either an IN or IN/OUT parameter to a stored procedure. Use an Assign activity to assign each XML element to its corresponding IN or IN/OUT parameter of the stored procedure. You can then use the stored procedure to do whatever you wish with the parameter data.
You also could use a SQL Object type whose attributes would be the XML elements that you're interested in. Use a Transform activity to associate each XML element to its Object attribute counterpart. The Object will then be used as the type of a single parameter to the stored procedure. The attributes of the Object are the XML elements that you chose. You can then use the stored procedure to do whatever processing is necessary given the attribute values of the Object type.

Playing Podcasts one after the other

I subscribe to a few podcasts that are "song of the day" They download and I play the songs but I would like to play them one after the other like I do with normal songs in my library.
I play one song then have to go back in iTunes and click to play the next ...
I try highlighting a bunch and no luck. Then made a playlist of the podcast songs and again only one will play.
Any thoughts?

actually I have both I have a Classic in my car, and a video one for travel. Both have the same issue but since it turns out they handle this differently, I wanted to know if the workaround posted for the Classic might have a counterpart in the video one... Thanks again!

Have you looked at Delete and Close Gap as well as Delete for what you describe?
Nonetheless, adding or moving clips to an existing Timeline content without disturbing the existing Timeline content can be challenging and complex under certain scenarios.
Typical solutions include making these moves with a keyboard modified held down (Windows Alt or Ctr). I am strictly an Elements Windows user, so we will need to find the Mac counterparts for the Windows keyboard modifier techniques.
Also, if one move triggers a multi-chain disaster, then you should consider grouping block of clips so that they do not move while you are busy with your Timeline maneuvers. Check out the Clip Menu options for Group and Ungroup.
Some times in the "Mac condition", you need to use fn in addition to the command to achieve some of these Windows counterparts.

You should not have to delete audio to prevent it from being split by an addition to an existing Timeline. The keyboard modifiers should help you resolve this type of issue.

When searching app's on the App Store (all filters removed) I realize I do not have as many app's as my counter part in the USA. Are the app's country specifics as I reside in Canada?

Are the app in the App Store country specific?
I was looking for the app "Salesforce Dragon" in the App Store to add to my iPad but could not find it and yes all filters where removed. When I make a search for "Salesforce" I come up with 42 app's while my counterpart in the USA comes up with 46 out of the same search. Does it make a difference if I'm in Canada?

Yes, it certainly makes a difference. A developer has complete control over where an app is released, and many developers choose to release an app only in certain countries. If Nuance has decided for some reason not to release that app in Canada, or has removed it for some reason, then it won't be available to you. You'll need to contact them and ask whether they have any plans to release the app in Canada in the near future.

I'm considering going to a Raid Array both at the Scractch Disk Level 2X Solid State 90GB Drives, and also at the stroage level 3X Hitachi 2TB HDD.
Which Raid Array setups should I use for each?

Something to consider:
An advantage of RAID 0 is that you get all the space of both drives, while multiplying the throughput.
While RAID 0 also multiplies the possibility of failure, you can offset that by buying high-MTBF enterprise class drives. The Western Digital RE4 is an example (and is the model I use in my RAID). Such drives are not really that much more expensive than their consumer-grade counterparts, and the difference is well worth it, IMO.
Do good backups - e.g., to a large external USB drive (e.g., Western Digital MyBook), and you'll be covered against loss of the entire array.

How to have it keep playing podcasts one after the other, automatically?

This may be a stupid question... I have a bunch of podcasts on my iPod. I find that when listening (through the "Podcasts" menu on the iPod, not a separate playlist I made myself), when one is finished, it stops and I have to pick it up and ask it to start the next one. How do I get it to just keep going (one after the other)?

I'm currently working in a very big project, and there, it's organized like that:
Some time before GoLive, the teams were mixed (project team were mainly external consultants), and for every external consultant, an internal ressource was assigned to take over the tasks. Then, there's a time of parallel work, but automatically, the internal ressources take over more and more of the tasks, and finally, one by one, the external consultants are "phased out".
We defined, what documents had to be delivered for hand over - ppts describing the general issues, a system management manual describing the administrative steps and so on.
And: to check the performance of the hand-over of the tasks, there were weekly or biweekly meetings with the external ressource and the internal counterpart, where the status of the task handover was analysed.
