Counting Names in a sheet

Is there a way I can count the number of times a specific name appears in a 14x56 chart. (I'm making a work schedule and need to make sure people have the same number of shifts)

COUNTIF() should do the job.
I've placed the calculations into a separate table.
=COUNTIF(Table 1 :: $B$2:$G$20,A)
The roster goes in column A. Names can be in any order, but must exactly match each occurrence in the schedule table.
B2 and G20 represent the top left and bottom right cells of the schedule grid. Adjust to fit your table. The $ operators serve to fix the cell references to the same block as you fill the formula into column B of Table 2.
Enter the formula into column B, next to the first name, select the cell, then fill the formula down to the row containing the last name by dragging the small round handle at the lower right of the selected cell.

I use CSVWriter for writing in excel file.
I have 2 questions:
1. How can I give a name to a Sheet in excel file?
2. How can I save the first Sheet and open another one with a different name?

This is the equivalent in Apache POI which may or may not help. I've never used CSVWriter.
HSSFSheet sheet1 = workbook.createSheet("sheet1Name");
HSSFSheet sheet2 = workbook.createSheet("sheet2Name");Then you can use either sheet object to write your contents. Look at the documentation for CSVWriter that pertains to sheets as it should tell you how.

Names of the sheet

They now follow the (inverted) norm of Excel (the formulas down, the names of the sheets up… just to do it differently apparently). But it has the same awful result than in Excel: if there are too much sheets, their names are hidden on the right. Even worse than in Excel, the tab sapce doesn't adapt to the length of the name. The worst of the 2 worlds.
The previous arrangement on the right was FAR superior.

NI 6343 Internal DI Sample Clock counter name text string?

I need to add a frequency test to my remote site (remote debug). Could someone tell me the text string as counter name for NI 6343 Internal DI Sample Clock? Thanks.

Does your remote computer have MAX installed? This is the easiest way to see what the device alias is.
You can always just try Dev1 and see if it works. This is the default when the very first device is added to a system.
If you can deploy code to the remote system, you can also use the DevNames property of the System Node from the DAQmx System Setup palette. This will show you all of the names of the devices in the system and you should see your device there.

I want to copy a name to another Sheet when it appears in a column and track how many times it appears.

I have a golf pool and I am wondering if this is possible to do within the spreadsheets or if I would need to run a script (which I have no experience doing). I am trying to track the number of times a Participant picks a particular golfer, as you are only allowed to pick a player 8 times during the year and of those 8, only 4 times as your Captain.
Here is the main page:

The Participants picks (Players) are filled in each week from a master list ( Table 3 below) so I want to create another sheet that would look something like this:

Is it possible to create the list of golfers in Table 2 "automatically" as they are populated into Table 1 each week?
I also thought of duplicating Table 3 ( list of about 300 players) and instead of having the name of the tournament in the columns, using the Participants names.
I would then like this new table (Table 4) to total the number of times a Players name showed up under a Participants name from Table 1. It would look something like this:

Hi jands,
With the way you have your main table organized (merged cells in the headers for one) it will be simplest to use your proposed table 4 with the list of all potential players and then run a filter on it to only show relevant players. If your main Sheet contained individual tables for each participant you could have a summary table for comparisons and a single formula would retrieve your counts.
I would use SUMIF(test-values,condition,sum-values) to pull the player count from the main table.
Table 4::C2 =SUMIF(Table 1::C,B2) This assumes that Table 1::C is the player column under James U. You would have to tweak this formula for each Participant.
Table 4::D2 =SUMIF(Table 1::G,B2) And so on.

Does anyone now where I can change the name of the Fact Sheet shown?
In standard the name of the Fact Sheet is: BP_ACCOUNT_FS.
I have made a copy of the Fact Sheet, named ZBP_ACCOUNT_FS.
But I can't find any place where I can change the pointer to my own Fact Sheet!!

To my knowledge, CRM does not store any statistics. Some telephony software (BCM, Genesys, etc.) provide such statistics. Even I think that BI has a "reporting agent" report.

Removing Checklist Name from Checklist Sheet

Hi, I am trying to use the checklist template from Numbers in iWorks 08 as an inventory sheet. I have tried unsuccessfully to remove the word "Checklist" that appears at the top of the page. It is almost hidden behind the top of the columns while editing the sheet, although when I print the page I have the word "Checklist" printed above the header.
Any ideas on removing this???

Ok... I feel like an idiot. I will answer my own question in hopes that this saves someone else from having to ask.
There is a checkbox all the way to the right on the toolbar called "Name" by removing the check from this box the name "Checklist" will be removed from the checklist sheet.

How to remove "Version Name" from contact sheets

When printing contact sheets, how do you remove the words"Version Name" from under each photo.
I just want my image numbers to be there such as JJC_3795. As it appears now is reads, Version Name:
JJC_3795. I went to Presets then to File Names hoping this would fix it, but can't figure out how to make that change. Maybe it's not possible???

I don't think it is possible. What I have done is print to PDF and then (in Acrobat Pro) covered the "version name" part with a blank text field, white background, and done the physical printing from Acrobat.

Can't name external style sheet

I have DW CS3 on the MAC (Leopard). I am trying to create an
external style sheet. I click the New Style + button, the Rule
window opens and i choos Tag and chose the paragraph tag p and
Define in is a New Style Sheet. Hit OK and in the Save As field I
type "feature.css" then hit Save. But then, the Rule Definition
window opens and the style sheet is called "untitled". Why is this?

OK, now for the workaround. Use a script to apply the style (I think there's one around here somewhere). Use a KB shortcut to activate the script.
Numpad keys are reserved, and are the only keys that will work, to define a style shortcut directly.
