CProjects - Approval Document for a Task

Hi,
Is it possible to create some approval scenario for a task in cProject.
There are some tasks which need cost approval. Can anyone recommend an easy to implement solution using the standard by either reusing approval document or attaching a BW report with a task.
kind regds
Vishal

Hi Thomas,
I do understand and agree with your opinion. The issue is that we need to get an object approved that is not a phase in the main project definition. So just wondering if we can create this object as a phase under a subproject definition - This is just to avoid these huge modifications. So if we can treat a task as a phase of the subproject and trigger the approval of this, do you see any issues technically ? (Though there are issues in functional design, but they would outnumber the benefits if it can be realised ?)

    Prasad,
You have to apply to guys and documents of the company from which you took this info. This is a completely custom set of tasks. You either should read about them in the company's manuals or go through the tasks and underlying methods (and simultaneously through on-line help:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sem60ep1/helpdata/en/62/f7e73ac6e7ec28e10000000a114084/frameset.htm).
If it doesn't help, then if I were you' I'd consider leaving this job. It might be not for you.

  • Invalid testsuite XML document for junitreport task

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and apologies if this is the incorrect place for me to post this thread. Basically I'm having some issues with the junitreport task with my junit test project.
I have a dummy class called Money and dummy test suite called MoneyTest that contains 4 test cases. The test is run through ANT <junit> task and they all passed with no problems. The problem occurred when I tried to perform the automatic test report generation using <junitreport> task, and the generated HTML pages contain no test results at all, indicated by "Tests:0 Failures:0 Errors:0 Success rate:0 Time:0.000" (in which case it should be 4 for Tests, etc.).
The error message says "TESTS-TestSuites.xml is not a valid testsuite XML document". I assume this file is auto-generated by the <junitreport> task which defines how the output HTML should look like. However, it only contains the folloing 2 lines:<?xml version="1.0"?> <testsuites />. I suspect this should be the cause of the empty output. So could anyone who's familar with this issue shed any light on how I should go about deal with this issue please? Thank you very much in advance!
By the way, the task code in build.xml for reporting is as follows:
    <target name="report">
         <junitreport todir="./reports">
              <fileset dir="./reports" includes="*.xml" />
              <report format="frames" todir="./report/html" />
         </junitreport>
    </target>

Thanks, the issue has been solved. I simply forgot to set the formatter type to xml in the junit task.

Can someone provide the configuration / setup that needs to be done so  that the approver (Phase Approval) does not have to type in the password when granting a phase approval. I believe it is some kind of a user certificate / SSO issue which has to be done additionally ?

  • Digital Signatures for cProjects Approval

    Hi Folks,
I am on cProjects 4.5 and from what I understand there are 2 options for this based on whether or not I check the "Signature of Approval with User Certificate" box in Project Type config.
Unchecked - user is prompted for cProjects password and this works fine. Only issue for us is, we are on the portal and most likely cProjects password will be different and unknown to user. As per note 928527 this is standard behavior and tough luck for anybody on the portal.
Checked - use is given the ability to digitally sign the PDF approval document. When I select "sign" on the PDF I am given the ability to create a new ID or use an existing ID from a file, server etc. I created a new ID and signed the document. Once I do this and click the transfer button the system appears to hang. The progress indicator appears and keeps going.
    Therefore my questions are:
    1. Is there any additional config I need to do in cProjects. ADS or anywhere else?
    2. How exactly does adobe digital signatures work? If anybody simply create a signature how does that provide any verification of authenticity?
    Appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Lashan

    Hi,
please see teh Configuration Content for cProjects 4.5 available in SAP Solution Manager and also as PDF attachment to SAP Note 1035436.
    There it says:
    Making Settings for the Approval
    Use
You can use user certificates for digital signatures of approvals.
    Prerequisites
    ● You are using Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher.
    ● You have a user certificate that is suitable for digital signatures (for example, the single
    sign-on certificate).
    ● You have installed Adobe® Reader and Adobe Document Services.
    Procedure
To verify the signature, enter the corresponding root certificate in the certificate list of the
Personal Security Environment (PSE, transaction STRUST). For more information, see the
documentation for the activity and the Adobe Document Services u2013 Configuration Guide NW
2004s on SAP Service Marketplace at service.sap.com/adobe u2192 Media Library u2192
    Documentation.
In fact, what is described in the ADS documentation referenced above is that you have to install
the certificate also on the ADS.
    Kind regards,

  • OOTB approval worfklow not creating task when require checkout is set as Yes on the document library

    HI,
I set the document library versioning to "require check-out" to yes.
I set the workflow settings to create an approval workflow and "start the workflow when the item is created".
I create a new document from the document template, save and check-in. The workflow task is not getting created, however the workflow is started.
when i change the require check-out to "No" and create a new document as above, the workflow tasks are getting created.
Can someone advise on what is the problem when versioning is enabled?? can anyone provide solution. thanks.

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that the task was not created after the approval workflow was running when setting the require check out to be yes.
I tested the scenario in my environment, if I used the Office client application to create documents, then the task would not be created even when the workflow was running.
There may be some reason that the creating task action is missed when the document is created using Office client application and the require check out is set to be yes.
As a workaround, I recommend to install Office Web Apps and use Office Web Apps to create the documents when setting the require check out to be yes.
The workflow will be starting before the documents is checked in, and it will create the task after the document is checked in.
    Thanks,
    Victoria

  • How to approve the request only for one time for human task in BPM Worklist

    Hi All,
I'm having a requirement where i have made the hierarchy in the .task file where in created two users for which i need an approval in a hierarchical manner. But when i'm approving the request from worklist app for one user and the request is going sucessfully to the second user and if i approve it over there it once again coming to first user where i have approve it once again to get the request processed. how to get request processed only for one time when it is approved. Do we need to customize anything
If you did it can anybody can share thoughts on this please. Your help is highly appreciated.
I am not able to see the rejected request at all. where to see the rejected request.
    Regards,
    CH

    Hi,
Following are the some important points you should understand about ESS Leave Request Workflow
    1. The Visualization ( how should it appear in UWL and what should happen when you click on a particular workitem) is defined in SWFVISU. Check for TS12300097. Generally, it invokes com.sap.xss.hr.lea.appl/LeaveRequestApprover Java WebDynpro application. Just check whether you are able to get the correct Leave Processing application called when you execute your workitem from UWL?
    2. In general it should have option to process the leave request either approve/reject. When the leave request gets approved/rejected the status of the Leave Request document gets changed ( in workflow it is &REQ.STATUS&
    3. There is a need to schedule a background job for program RPTARQPOST which will pick up all the documents in APPROVED status and creates an absence record for the same.
    4. Apart from schedule job as mentioned above, you also have to schedule a background job for program  RPTARQEMAIL, which is basically used to send e-mails for all the documents which are yet to be approved to correct manager.
as you say , you can not see Approve/Reject options from UWL, it looks to me that correct javawebdynpro application is not being called for this task. Just check this !!
    Good Luck !!

  • CProject 4. 0 Document Approval Document Error

    Hi All,
We have the configuration that was working fine for Phase Approval in cProjects 4.0.
I am having a look at it as we are getting ‘<b>You can not begin approval without an approval document’</b> error message on click of ‘Begin Approval’ button.
Though I have not checked ADS (Note - 944221), this does not seem to be  ADS problem as the ‘Document’ with decision as ‘Granted’ gets displayed properly.
I create New Approval by adding approver, after click of ‘Begin Approval’, then the error message gets displayed.
Configuration seems OK as it was working fine few days ago.
Also looking at note – 874054 (Is it only for cProjects 3.1 ?)
The only thing which I am doubtful about is, in configuration ‘Activate Forms Per Project Type’ where I need to deactivate the smartform ‘DPR_APPROVAL_HIER’, which is set to ‘Active’ (i will deactivate and test again). Also the PDF Print form ‘DPR_APPROVAL_HIER’ is set active.
    Thanks in advance....

    Hi Bushan,
    try this ,
In c project configuration --> Activate From per Project Type
    --->you ACTIVATE the PDF FORM
    ---> DEACTIVATE the smart form
    for DPR_APRROVAL_HIRE FORM
    thanks

  • Workflow for approving documents: rejected document

    Hi expert colleagues,
at my client we are implementing the workflow functionality for approving documents (EhP2). I managed quite easily to set-up the basic workflow as described in the documentation. I have one question though, the problem is the following:
Step 1: a correction document is entered by the corporate consolidation team person 1 and a workflow is triggered
Step 2: the document is rejected by the approval agent of the consolidation unit
Step 3: the rejected document becomes available for person 1 of the consolidation team, but the person is not present that day. Another person of the consolidation team wants to pick-up the rejected document, adjust it and start the workflow again. This seems to be impossible, the rejected document can only be modified (or discarded) by person 1. Even if person 1 identifies a substitute, the substitute cannot change the rejected document.
Question: is there a way to let another person pick up a rejected document?
    Thx, ewald

    Hi,
you can probably assign multiple approval agents to one consolidation unit. But in the case there is a rejection by one of the agents the document goes back to the initiator.
The document initiator can only discard or change the document via the consolidation monitor, task manual posting. And the initiator is the only one who seems to have the power to call up a rejected document (in that way it looks a bit as a user specific held document).
Any extra thoughts or should I look on the workflow forum?
    Kr

  • Set of document for approval.

I have to send set of documents for approval to my client which are PDF format. For example :-
    1) Project A - Total 5 Documents (PDF format)for Approval
    2) Project B - Total 6 Documents (PDF format) for Approval
Like this daily I have to send 6 o 8 projects document to my client for approval in one set. I think I can use Document set for approval but not sure. Please advice.

    Thanks Redecca,
I've created the document set and its working fine. Only I'm facing issue with Permission.
I've created Document Set in Document Library in SharePoint 2013. Here for this document set I've created
OOTB workflow from SharePoint Ribbon. So here User A will upload the document and User B will review put comment and approve or reject.
I've admin access so in the Document Library Setting "Permissions for this document library " I
clicked on "Inherit the Permission" and added these users A & B with Design access.
Now user A is able to login and upload the files in document set but to create or use the Document Set which
I've created he is getting error "Sorry, you don't have access to this page".
Now here I want to give access to user A and B only for the Document Library so they can access/use the Document
Set which I've created, Upload the Document and user B can approve it. Also here in Left Navigation I want to show user A & B "Task" option which is also not showing to view the "Approval Status".
Before your post I posted this issue on below link as its look like different request. Could you please have a look and advice please.

  • Approval document in cProjects 4.0 through Smartforms

    Hi all,
Is there any way to manage approval documents in cProjects through smart forms instead of Adobe Server (AIF)?
If so, is there any documentation for configuring it that way?
Thank you very much in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Isabel

    J,
Sorry, I don't leave my email address up except for brief periods when I'm looking for someone to use it. Since Peter has your email, I'm sure he will sort that issue out for you. Meanwhile, I'll give you some additional information on posting screen shots.
Any of the photo hosting sites will work. I'm currently using Photobucket as I've found it to be more reliable than others that I've tried. The site will guide you through the upload process. Then it will offer you several options for sharing your "photo". Choose the HTML option. Copy that HTML code and paste it here. That's all there is to it.

  • CProjects Phase Approval : Approval Document does not exist

    Hello,
I am trying to approve a phase in cProjects 4.0 (WD ABAP Based).
When I goto Approval Tab --> Approval Document, it displays:
    Approval Document does not exist
I have checked the configuration and everything looks correct.
For Project Type I have activated the Form DPR_APPROVAL_HIER
    The ADS is configured properly.
I also checked Note 874054 - You cannot start approval w/o approval document, and the config is as per this note.
What else can be likely reasons for this problem.
    Any help is appreciated.

  • Difference between Due Date for All Tasks and Duration per task in an approval workflow

    Hello,
I'm starting to read up and learn about approval workflows in Designer 2010.  I am confused by the fields "Due Date for all Tasks" and the "Duration per task".  I understand that the Due date for all Tasks is the date that all
of the tasks in the workflow must be completed by.  And I understand that the duration means each task has x number of days to complete.
But I dont know whey we need them both.  If I have the task duration set to two days and there are 3 tasks involved, then wouldn't the due date be 6 days from the start?  Why would I have a due date for all tasks that is completely different than
the sum of the duration of days for each task?
    Please help shed some light!

    Hi Michelle,
Due date for all tasks, this setting specifies the date by which all tasks are due. It’s used for serial and parallel
    task.
Duration per tasks, this setting specifies the date by which an individual
task is due, it’s used for serial workflow participants.
Note, when you create an approval workflow, select task process participants(approvers oob approval workflow), we can also
select once at a time(serial) or all at once(parallel).
    For more information, see
