CPS job status alert via email

Dear All,
We are using Build: M28.20-37214 CPS version.
So far we are able to get email alert from CPS when any job reaches any final (completed, error, canceled) status.
However in our email alert template we also want to include the date and time when the particular job reached that status.
We have created a new parameter "Time.now" in the Step 2 (email alert program).
In the email template we have used a statement as below.
<p>The job reached this status at : ${Time.now:"EEE-dd-MM-yy"}</p>
As per my understanding this paramaeter should be dynamic and should take value at runtime.
Hence in parameter definition we have used Direction - Out.
By doing all these configuration steps we are still not getting desired results.
Our expected result is as below.
The job reached this status at : WED-03-11-10.
Any suggestions , any inputs will be highly appreciated.

Backgroung job and sending via email

Hi All
We have started sending reports via email by background processing of jobs. Back ground job was defined in SM36. By giving ABAP program name, variant, state date / time, periodic daily, spool to distribution list ( distribution list have list of emails to which report is to be send. All the reports are got correctly. But now there is a issue a second mail is received after some time for the same jobs with no content in the report. In SM36 i have checked duplication of job but found non

MDT deployment status notification via email

I'm trying to build a solution that sends an email report after every deployment. Atm I have orchestrator runbook executed after deployment that sends a detailed report via email (Computer name, serial, make, model etc.). This works very well (btw. Orchestrator
is an awesome product!).
At the end of the task sequence MDT wizard shows how the deployment went (success, error, warnings)
What I dont know is how could I pass that same information to Orchestrator that MDT wizard shows after deployment. Any ideas?

Basically the solution mentioned with Henrik does that, but not in the way you would like it to do.
The bdd.log is copied along the e-mail as attachment, and when you look at incorporating this solution, you can work with task sequence variables.
So if you are able to retrieve ERROR and WARNING succes codes from the BDD.log and summarize those into the e-mail, you've got what you want.
On the other hand, when using MDT all your production deployment's should equally succeed or fail. Using this for testing purposes doesn't make sense.
So have a look at the posted solution, look in-depth to the scripts provided with the solution, and see if you can make it fit!

Hi Experts.
Our client is running SBO 2007A SP00 PL47.
They are using Approvals for Purchase Orders.
Those users who should be approving the Purchase Orders are not typically logged in to SBO and only log in to authorise the Purchase Orders.
In order that the originator of the Purchase Order does not have to verbally request their manager to log in to SBO to approve the Purchase Order we have created an alert to each manager which runs each hour which is delivered by email rather than the internal messaging system in SBO.
The query is:
'SELECT 'PO awaiting your approval in SBO' from WDD1 where status = 'W' and userid = 6'
where 6 is the userid.
The client maintains the managers only get the emailed alert if they are logged on to SBO which somewhat defeats the purpose of the alert.
I spent some time yesterday testing this and could only get the alert to enter a record in ALR1 when the user was logged on.
Any ideas experts.

I am having a way, but this is upto u to test and make it live, this totally out of SAP B1 Appliaction.
1. Create a ODBC connection with your DB
2. Write a SQL code to fetch the PO Drafts for the Day
3.Put this query in windows shedule task for every 1 hour / 1 day.
4. Write a script or any soft codes to pump the file to your manager.
The 4th point i mentioned alone i didn't tried, u try and give a postive feedback !

Credit Alerts via Email?

Past few months I've been getting bad credit alerts, and they all want me to click a link to see the credit problem. I shouldn't have any credit issues and I've been scared to click on links, but is this for real? Anyone click on one of these? Sorry I couldn't find previous discussion.

it's junk/spam email. just delete them and dont think twice about it. If you are truly concerned, obtain a credit report on your own.

XI Communication Channel Status sent to email/ccms

Let me try to clear out some things in this thread . First of all you do your alert configuration which you say you have already done. Thats good . Now you ask that you want only to monitor the communication channels and you want specific guide . Here is the specific guide.
If you have configured alerts you will know that when you create an alert rule you have the option to choose radio button where did the error occur it could be no restriction , integration engine or adapter engine. You need to choose adapter engine.
Now whenever the colour of the lights change to red. You will get your alerts.

LT Replication server job status

Hello,
In our HANA system, under transaction LTRC, we can check status job that "Master Job Status : Running" under tab "Administration data". We have setup E-mail alert using Transaction LTRC --> "Expert function" tab --> status notification settings. so that after every 24 hours we get "Master job status" alert mail. but we want to setup a E-mail alert when Master job stops running at any given time. Can you tell us how can setup that alert, can we configure this using CCMS or through some other alert mechanism?

Sending alert as email to a Business Partner, is it possible??

Hi all,
One of my clients asked me whether it is possible to send automatic alerts via email to Business Partners?
It seems like you can do it only when BP is a user in SAP or maybe not?

Hi Maciej Kozlowski
The alerts are available to listed users in the SAP Business One Company database only. You could achieve this by adding each BP contact as a user in the system, but that could be a bit messy to manage and the problem would be which BP email address to use. There would have to be a trigger that determines the BP code and translates to the BP email address.
The alternative is to let the alert notify a user, who in turn redirects it to an email manually.
The question is, what type of alert are you referring to? Is it specific to one BP or could it change from day to day based on for example BP balance, etc. If the report is dynamic and does not always relate to a specific BP, it will be difficult.
Could you maybe give us more details on what you want to achieve and we could guide you better?

HP Hardware alerts via iLO

Well that stinks. I really don't have $400 to spend just to get alerts. Do Dell's include email alerting out of the box with their DRAC remote management, or do you have to pay for it as well?

I recently attended an HP/VMware webcast where the HP host said that iLO4 equipped servers were capable of sending hardware alerts via email. I've logged into our iLO on a ML350 Gen8 server, but I don't see the option for this. Can somone please advise on how to do this?

Can you pl help or need steps in configuring alerts on failed jobs or output of that jobs via emails.
I searched and got following reply but dont understand 2nd steps from that.
1. Created Sapconnect Method in RZ21
2. Created Auto-Reaction Method to notify via EMAIL
I. Create a User to Send the Alerts
i. Created a user in 000 of ECD,

We have following:

Send spool list ceated by Job (SM36) as pdf-file via email

We are running the report RM06EFLB (Transaktion ME84 - "Create Releases") in the background.
The Job is creating a spool list with 17 pages.
I want to send this 17 pages (in a readable form) to a number of persons.
This did I try so far:
- Distribution list with Recipient type "via Internet" as Spool list recipients in the Job. (Tried different formats for ABAP List in Transaction SCOT)
=> Email is send to recipients, attachment is readable depending on format.
     Problem: attachment is not complete, it contains only about 15 pages (985 rows).
- Distribution list with Recipient type "Internal User - SAP-Office" as Spool list recipients in the Job.
=> Document is sent to Business Workplace
     Problem: attachment is not complete, it contains only about 15 pages
Any ideas how to get the complete spool list?
Is there mayby a report around that is sending a spool list as pdf-file via email to a number of recipients?
(Would like to maintain this Report as an additional step in the job. The spool-number should be selected from the previous step.)

Oh sorry - here is the coding which is used in that program:
First use function module 'CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF' to convert the spool entry into pdf.
Loop at output table PDF and concatenate all lines into a string. Convert string to xstring.
Then call mail class:

Redwood CPS job goes to status ERROR but job works completes ok in SAP

Hi
When I schedule a particular ABAP job to run in SAP from Redwood CPS it always completes with the Error status in CPS, but the job runs okay and ends in the Finished status in SAP.
I tried a different ABAP job and this ran okay, with the CPS status going to Completed.
I had a look at the CPS log files for the Erroring job and there were no errors in the 'log' file but in the 'step1/spool1' file there is the line 'Processing completed with errors'. Is CPS doing a little more than SAP as regards checking job statuses and looking in the spool file for errors?
Checked the operator messages and all it says is:
Job 1501323 (submitted from ZGB_FI_KO8G_SETTLEMENT copy from 2009/08/24 15:34:54,250 Europe/London)) has aborted due to at least one error while running the jobs in step: Job 1501324 (submitted from ZGB_FI_KO8G_SETTLEMENT copy from 2009/08/24 15:34:54,250 Europe/London))
- doesn't elaborate why the job has status Error.
Is this saying the CPS part had an error or the ABAP part??

I checked the Return Code Mapping for this system and it is empty. No post running action or a trigger has been configured.
The first time I was having the error was after setting up a 2 step job chain. When I got the error (and the second step didn't run) I then submitted this first simple step from the job definition SAP_AbapRun in case there was an issue with the way I'd configured the chain; it still errorred though. All I am specifying is the ABAP program name, SAP job name, variant and queue to run on, and it does run okay in SAP.
When you say "The actual error should be available in the logfile of the SAP job itself" do you mean the joblog as viewing in SM37? There are no errors in there.
I'll have a play with the Return Code Mapping part as if CPS does search the spool for errors (perhaps by default?) and sets the status to error in CPS, I don't want it to stop the chain - although I guess I can always set the post action of step 1 to 'on error' 'continue'...
