CPU Cooler makes noise

I use CPU Cooler from PCAlert. It cools down CPU from about 55 to about 38. But the integrated audio makes noise when its running.
I also have a problem with GPU - my screen shakes with most resolutions. This effect increases with temperature.
Any ideas?

Hi,
It sounds as if there is something caught in the cooling fans which is catching the fan blades. Visually check the fans through the air intake grilles to see if you can see anything.
Unfortunately access to the fans will involve some dismantling so I would try sucking any debris out of the fan intake grilles with a vacuum cleaner.
If the problem still persists it may be necessary to take the unit to an Authorised Service Agent for the cooling fans to be checked/replaced.

  • CPU makes noise?

    hy,
does the cpu of the new pbp's makes noise, or a any sound?
i am very sensitive for noise (dont know the word for this, well, i makes me sad, if f.e. the fan start/runs always and is loud).
i use a pb g4, and its cpu is audible, if it runs at maximun speed - silent, but too loud for me, sound like a harddisc).
what about the fan? is it running a lot of time, f.e. during working in photoshop/indesign?
    thank you

yes, thank you for your posts. i think, if i should get a mbp thats ok, so i will have no problem with the fan, noise... and if i run strong i make "noise" (breathing), so in a way this is normal.
    but if i will get a build-on-a-monday-mbp...

  • My compaq presario desktop hangs after working for while.cpu fan also makes noise.?

I did clean the dust but still fan makes noise and after starting the system it hangs.say may be after 10 min....what could be the problem ?

The ST5402FH is circa 2008. Here's how to measure a fan. Although the example is for a 92mm, it's likely your CPU fan is 80mm. Use the guide to learn how to meaure the fan, so you can order it.
The CPU fan is a 4 pin PWM fan. It's RPM is critical. Order too slow a fan, and your system will not boot. You can use the free HWMonitor to check the current RPM ranges. It will show 2 fans, just disconnect the rear case fan (3 pin) temporarily to determine which is the CPU fan.

  • Help me find a cpu cooler please.

    Hi everyone,
Im having some difficulty finding a decent cpu cooler for my box,
atm im using the boxed cooler from AMD modded with a 80mm papst fan,
it runs pretty quite, but the temps aren't that good.
Ive tried adding some more fans in the kabinnet, but then it makes more noise, which is unpractical.
There are so many brands and types of cpu coolers, and since im really not following with the hardware developent anymore
im really at lost with this, so i hope some of you gurus can help me out.
    It should be pretty simple
    sys specs:

    cpu: A64 3500+
    Thanks a lot

    I guess its a winchester 939 pin ( 2.2Gz with  512kb cache )

  • Satellite pro M10: CPU cooler troubles

    Hi
    I'm using a Satellite pro M10 1.5G.
The cpu-cooler or ventilator, makes a strange noise. It sounds like some playcards between the wheels of a bike. It's very anoying. The pc isn't so quiet as he was before.

  • Hi everybody , i want to buy macbook pro retina but i wonder if he make noise or get hot ?

hi everybody , i want to buy macbook pro retina but i wonder if he make noise or get hot ? i don't use game or heavy program.

The only 'noise maker on a retina MBP are the fans.  The will speed up if there is a need to dissipate heat.
The MBP will become hot if CPU/GPU intensive applications are in use.  That is expected and normal.
    Ciao.

  • Error with new CPU cooler

Hello, I just put a Vantec Aeroflow AMD into my MSI K7T 266 pro2-u mboard and upno startup I get an error relating to unabling to detect CPU spinning. However it is spinning and temp was 34C. I have noticed that the three colours of wires are "yello, black and red" whereas on defauly CPU cooler it was  " Blue, Black red." Is it just a case of incompatibility as I now have disabled CPU fan detection. Thanks.

Had the same problem with same m/b and cooler. Long story short, purchased a seperate T.M.D fan rated at 5600rpm part no PD1270155B-2F and fitted to cooler and bios detected it at 5600rpm. The 5600 rpm fan was slightly noiser than the fan fitted to the vantec cooler I bought and it was gold coloured not silver. Whats also strange was cpu temp dropped from 41C to 37.5C. This raises a question that maybe the coolers are packaged with 4300rpm fans instead of 5600rpm ,the specs say 5600rpm fan but who knows. Have bought 3 vantec coolers and all three have no fan detection. Bought 3 5600rpm fans and all have fan detection. Hand held tacho rated the silver ones about 4250rpm and the gold ones at 5560rpm. Figure this one out ?(

  • CPU Cooler- which one ???

    Hi,
i have been planning on OCing my CPU and i am just wondering what CPU Cooler to go for as i have seen a fair few that seem pretty good like the Zalman 7000B CU, TT Vensus 12, or perhaps one of the swiftech HSF's the only problem is that i dont really want to change the baseplate as i hear it is very hard to get off, so ideally i would like a HSF that will fit into my exisitng baseplate and also cool my CPU better than the stock HSF. Also my exisiting HSF had a thermal pad that has now melted between it and the CPU would i need to remove the compund off the CPU before installing the new HSF or could i use the same or apply some AS5 to top it up.
I have also been considering a water cooling kit for my CPU and possibly my GPU, how easy are these to fit? i dont want to make any modifications to the MOBO in anyway such as dirlling holes, can anyone recommed a kit that is easy to install?

  • Oddity with Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU cooler

Bought COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Compatible with latest Int… Aug 2014 and no previous problems that I know of...
UNTIL... computer was off this morning... when I pushed power on, stopped at a CPU fan warning screen and command to press F1 for setup
Did so, and screen said fan was at less than the require 600 RPM (something like 592) until after a few seconds, fan went above 600 rpm and boot up proceeded
Have had CPUID HWMonitor running in the background all day, and fan is running at 612-655 rpm, currently 625
No odd noises to indicate a fan problem with this 4 month old unit
Anyone else ever had this happen with this brand/model cooler?

I've seen fans, either due to bad bearings or being gummed up, run at slower speeds than they were supposed to run.

  • CPU Cooler Warning

I'm just putting together a box with KT4AV.  As soon as I power up all diagnostic LED's report OK, but within a couple of seconds as soon as I get a display, it tells me the CPU Fan is not working, which it is, then the machine powers down with the two tone warning beep.
I've tried resetting CMOS with battery in and out.
Any ideas why it might not be detecting CPU Fan?

If its not the cooler and hsf, are you sure its not the processor itself?
Otherwise I'd say yeah its probably a faulty board. I know that feeling Lately every board ive gotten (and no joke either) has actually been faulty, sans this kt4av i'm waiting to actually test and see.  I think I am going to snag a new cpu cooler since I cant stand the big hunk of copper I got.  I feel like im going to crush a processor every time I stick it on.  That and the fan doesnt fit right so I need a new one.  Best of luck on this whole scenario.  When you take the board back and swap it for another, try taking your proc and hsf and a stick of mem with you, and have them test it there to make sure its all working That way if you get home and something doesnt work you can possibly rule out grounding issues or the psu, even though it doesnt seem your psu is the issue

  • Macbook air runs hot and makes noise like processor running hard when connected to display - even when not actively using air book

macbook air runs hot and makes noise like processor running hard when connected to display - even when not actively using air book

You could use the free tool iStat Pro to see what changes when you connect your MBA to the display. Without doing anything the CPU pane should show a high percentage for "Idle". If the idle value is too low, launch the Activity Monitor and sort by CPU usage. There is a pane showing the different temperatures of your computer. Watch them for a few minutes after connecting the display.

  • Ge620dx - where is cpu cool 'n' quiet ?

hi, i've a problem on ge620dx, i couldnt find cpu cool 'n' quiet settings. cpu fan always running and never stop or being quiet. how can resolve this problem? thnks.

if the fan always runnng so this name is not cool'n'quiet technology, i mean that the ge620dx notebook fan is always running with noisy (actually not noisy but getting headache and my left hand warming), so just run when cpu maknig more busy then swtich quiet mode. so eist is not support to cpu's fan rpm.

Go to BIOS Setup and and Enable Speedstep
When you go to OS, then check power options and make sure its selected balanced power scheme.
the fan always will run that's normal.
does the CPU clocks are reduced when its in idle state?
can you check it with CPU-Z?

  • [865PE/G Neo2 Series] Zalman CPU cooler doesn't fit, Northbridge Sink remove?

    Hi,
I have a problem fitting a Zalman (CNPS7000B-Cu) cpu cooler - the MSI northbridge sink is too high and too close to the cpu.
Can I replace the NB sink with one with a lower profile?
( Incidently, I'm not overclocking, although I do use this machine as an audio machine and it does get quite hot.
    - If I can replace - any recommendations?
    - If not - any recommendations for a reasonably priced and quiet cooler that will fit (i.e with a narrow profile).

I had the same problem on my 865PE Neo2-PFS Platinum Edition mobo. Zalman's website indicated that the CNPS7000a-AlCu fits on this board, but it doesn't. The diagonally placed northbridge heatsink is in the way. I originally thought I'd bend a few of the Zalman's fins out of the way, but then I decided if I could do something with the northbridge heatsink. I removed the northbridge heatsink and removed the 2 fins that were in the the way of the Zalman. I wanted to repalce the modded northbridge heatsink using some AS5 but the stock thermal goo (some pink stuff) was impossible to get off, even with alcohol or acetone. So I smeared some AS5 on anyway and just mooshed the heatsink back on with the pink junk and AS5.
I noticed that the northbridge gets really hot at stock speeds (200 FSB). I'm planning on overclocking my 2.4C to 3GHz (250 FSB) today, so I hope the northbridge doesn't burn up. Gonna aim a fan at it and hope for the best.
Hope the "bend 2 fins off the northbridge heatsink mod" helps all you guys that want to put Zalman's on your CPU's.
