CR XIr2 and CR 2008 in BOE XI 3.1

I am looking for a document detailing how to install CR XIr2 and CR 2008 on same client. I need both of these apps to be able to post to BOE XI 3.1 is this possible? How will I be able to tell once a report is published if it is a r2 or a 2008 version.
Thanks
Bryan

Hi Brain,
We can install multiple versions of a crystal  on same server.
We can publish the  CR XI R2  and CR 2008 reports to  BOE  XI  3.1 server.
But in the Enterprise there is no such option available to know which version the reports are developed.
As there is no such functionality avaialble till now , we need to manually run the reports in designer applications.
Regards,
Naveen.

    please guide me how i can do this
    kindly give me installation and pre requisities steps so that i can prepare myself for this migration

    If you have CR Server 2008 then you a support contract. You could create a case on line and have a Support Engineer work with directly and describe how to use the Migration wizard. There are Documents also available on how to in the CRS Administrators Guide.

  • PKI SCCM Client Certificate Template not viewable by Windows 7 and Server 2008 workgroup machines.

    Hello everyone,
    I’m having issues with workgroup computers, not domain systems when I request a certificate.
    It’s extremely weird. It has something to do with Windows 7 and Windows 2008 machines. In 2003 server I can request a certificate manually with certutil and it see the certificate template. I copy over the exact command
    on windows 7 and it can’t see the certificate template.
    I have the following configuration:
    CA Enterprise
    I have created the SCCM Client Certificate
    I have created the SCCM Web Server Certificate
    I have created the SCCM Distribution Point Certificate
    GPO is configured
    SCCM 2012 R2 CU2 configured to do HTTP and HTTPS
    Installed SCCM Client Certificate
    Installed SCCM Web Server Certificate
    Installed Distribution Point Certificate
    Deployed to a domain computer good on PKI
    Workgroup Computers:
    I’m having issues with deploying certificates
    Windows 7 –
    (ERROR) not successful
    Windows Server 2008 R2 –
    (ERROR) not successful
    Windows Server 2003 - successful
    Windows XP – successful
    How I’m getting the certs for the clients is by utilizing the following scripts from this URL.
    http://www.ithierarchy.com/ITH/node/48
    I did find a couple of errors in the code, but if it’s working on my Server 2003, then it should work on the others. Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 seem to have the same issue. The error I’m getting is the following:
    Command line requesting the cert ---- CertReq –new –f testcomputer.home.pvt.inf c:\client\testcomputer.home.pvt.req
    Error --- Template not found.
    SCCMClientCertificate (this is my template)

    Just to give an update on what’s happening with this. I found out this format is unsupported by MS with Windows Vista and newer OS’s.
    Instead you must utilize two other additional roles on the CA to have this work. The caviate is, I’m down to the testing and it’s not working as in the document. I have MS Support
    working with me to resolve this issue since it was written by MSFT.

However, when I use the music to create a slide show in iPhoto 2008 and export to Quicktime 7.6.6, the volume level I previously set is lost and seems to default to a low level. Is there a work around, so that I can retain the volume level I had previously set in Garageband, a volume level that seems to transfer without problem to the new iTunes. But then iPhoto 2008 (slide show) possibly or Quicktime 7.6.6 do not cooperate. Before I did the upgrade to Snow Leopard, the new iTunes and Quicktime I had no problems with the set volume being retained in the old Quicktime. The reason I need control over the volume is that all these music files are uploaded to YouTube.

  • Windows 2003 server and SQL 2008

    Hi
    Does SAP Business one support windows 2008 and sql 2008 platforms?
    When i checked the partner portal it says that these platforms are not supported.Is there any update?
    Regards

    Hello Louis,
    The only way to determine this is via the supported platforms page in the portal. This is the most up to date, and will include information for the future when this data is available. So for not I would only plan with what information is available.

  • How to change the name / IP address and domain name for BOE Server

    Hello,
    We want to change the name / IP address and domain name for BOE Server, please could you indicate the steps or procedure to follow?
    I need your help
    thank you

    If it's 3.1 just change them, shouldn't cause any issues if by domain name you are referring to changing the domain the computer belongs to. If you are changing your domain for AD authentication then you will may have to take quite a few steps if the old domain is going away. Let us know.

  • How to add a barcode font for use in Web Intelligence (WebI) XIR2 and 3x?

    Anyone have the steps to add a barcode font to WebI XIR2 and 3x?  Not finding a good KBase on it and was also wondering if there any "gotchas" in terms of printing and exporting to .pdf.
    Thanks.

    Hi Kevin,
    Also, if the solution provided in the previous post doesn't helps you then try the following solution.
    Following are the steps to apply barcode font (IDAutomationHC39M):
    1) In Windows Explorer, browse to the following folder:
    -- C:\Windows\Fonts
    2) On the File menu click Install New Font then browse to the font you want to install.
    3) Edit the properties on the fonts you have just added:
    In the "Embedding" tab, you should get a property like "Preview & Print embedding allowed".
    But, nothing related to a license limitation regarding the embedding, else, you will not be allowed to use the added fonts in PDF or XLS generation.
    4) Once the above points have been done:
    -- Copy the .ttf fonts you want to use in the following XIR2 folder:
    <BO_INSTALL_DIR>\Business Objects\j2sdk1.4.2_08\jre\lib\fonts
    5) Add the following entries into the fontalias.xml file, which is in the following folder:
    <BO_INSTALL_DIR>\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\win32_x86\fonts
    The template looks like the following one:
    <FONT NAME="IDAutomationHC39M">
    <FONTFAMILY PLATFORM="ttf" NAME="IDAutomationHC39M (IDAutomationHC39M)">
    <FONTATTRIBUTE BOLD="false" ITALIC="false" LOGICAL="IDAutomationHC39M" PHYSICAL="IDAutomationHC39M.ttf"/>
    </FONTFAMILY>
    <FONTFAMILY PLATFORM="win" NAME="IDAutomationHC39M"/>
    <FONTFAMILY PLATFORM="java" NAME="IDAutomationHC39M"/>
    <FONTFAMILY PLATFORM="html" NAME="IDAutomationHC39M"/>
    </FONT>
    6) Add the following entries into the u2018i18n.xmlu2019 file, which is in the following folder:
    <BO_INSTALL_DIR>\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\win32_x86\scripts
    You have different sections in this i81n.xml file.
    -- Under the first section
    <I18N>
    <FontFinder>
    <font key=u201DIDAutomationHC39Mu201D value=u201DIDAutomationHC39Mu201D/>
    u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026..
    </ FontFinder>
    < FontFinder2>
    <font key=u201DIDAutomationHC39Mu201D value=u201DIDAutomationHC39Mu201D/>
    u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026..
    </ FontFinder2>
    -- Under the u2018font_aliasingu2019 section
    <font_aliasing>
    <T1>
    u2026u2026u2026u2026.
    </T1>
    <TTF>
    u2026..
    <font name=u201DIDAutomationHC39Mu201D>
    <os type=u201Dallu201D>
    <Attributs style=u201D0u201D filename=u201DIDAutomationHC39M.ttfu201D encoding=u201Du201D aliaspsname =u201CIDAutomationHC39Mu201D/>
    u2026
    </os>
    </TTF>
    7) Save the both files.
    8) Restart the Businessobjects servers or local computer.
    9) Login in to infoview and create a new web intelligence report by using the Java Report Panel or Html Report Panel;
    10) In the left pane, select the "Cell Format Properties": you will notice that an entry "IDAutomationHC39M" has been added into the font dropdown list.
    Just test the above u2018IDAutomationHC39Mu2019 barcode font, at your end and update me with the results.

  • CR XI R 2 and CR 2008 does not render Khmer Unicode correctly

    Post Author: khmerangkor
    CA Forum: General
    Having evaluate CR XI R 2 and CR 2008 in Visual Studio 2005 and Visual Studio 2008.  The result:When I work with Crystal
    Report Application itself is fully supporting the Khmer Unicode. Then
    I include it into VS 2005 and 2008, it does not support Khmer Unicode at all.  Basically, it does not render at all. Hope Crystal Report Development Team look into this problem and help us to develop report in Khmer Unicode.  We belive in your product.Regards,Khmer

    Don,
    the problem seem to be that Version XI Rel 2 is not only an Upgrade of Version XI (for what I just purchased a license) but a special Version.
    So I have the Trial Version XI Rel 2 and my Reg. Key does not comply with it.
    I Think SAP ony gives the user the right to use Version XI Rel 2 I you buy a full Version (even if you are Crystal reports Customer for 15 years).
    Very diffuse and time wasting the whole thing. I hope my old projects still using Crystal reports will soon run out of use.
    Cheers for your efforts

  • Crystal Reports Version to Work With Vb 6 and VS 2008

    Hi,
    We have some legacy VB 6 applications which are too large to port over to Visual Studio which use Crystal 7.0
    Recently at one site there have been problems with another application which uses a new version of Crystal. Either one or the other will work but not both. This might be solved by ugrading to Crystal XI R2 ( I believe that newer versions can run side by side). However, we also have new projects starting that are to be developed in VS 2008. As I understand it, Crystal XI R2 will not work with VS 2008 and CR 2008 will not work with VB 6.
    We really donlt want to have to buy both versions !!
    Anyone got any ideas ?
    Many Thanks
    Paul

    CR 7 did not support side-by-side installs. Likely what is happening is the your app and the other app is loading crpe32.dll from the \windows\system32 folder. Which obviously will not support each other. This is the only dll that is common among all versions of CR, see below for more info, and that due to it's location can cause issues like this. Newer versions from 8.5 do version checking and athough the dll's have the same name XI R2 will not load other versions, there are exceptions. The exceptions are UFL and some legacy database drivers that will work in any and all versions.
    A few possible work arounds, in your app do version checking when loading crpe32.dll or specifically if crpe32 is residing in a memory space that some other app has loaded it and Windows will share, check the version of the dll and if in your case it's not 11.5.x.x. then pop up a message indicating they must close the other Crystal app before continuing.
    Move all the runtime files into the applications startup folder, what's specified in the Icon on the your desktop or short cut. Moving them there may fix this, we start looking for our runtime where your EXE is located and then in the working Folder, then in the \system32 folder and finally down the PATH statement. We also have hard coded specific location in our load methods. In this case you may have to rename the \windows\crystal folder from the CR 7 install. But I don't recall if this will break the CR 7 app.
    Also if you are moving the version 7 runtime or the other app it may break that application so make note what you did so you can restore it. Also highly suggested to back up everything and test this on a test machine before applying to the production PC's.
    You can use tools like Filemon and modules from our site. You can get filemon from www.sysinternals.com.
    Other than that it will not likely work due to 7 not supporting side-by-side and will load anything it finds. And of course, Don't support or install both versions of software on the same PC.

  • Enterprise Hotfix Rollup for Win7 and Server 2008 R2 via WSUS

    I stumbled across the fact that Microsoft released a hotfix rollup for Win7 and Server 2008 R2 that contains 90 hotfixes
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2775511/en-us
    The articled I linked above talks about after installing 2775511 (the big hotfix rollup containing 90 hotfixes) it is also necessary to install three more hotfixes:
    After this update is installed, you must install update 2732673 to fix a regression issue in the Rdbss.sys file
    After this update is installed, you must install update 2728738 to fix a regression issue in the Profsvc.dll file
    After this update is installed, you must install update 2878378 re-released on November 11, 2013 to fix a regression issue in the Advapi32.dll file
    I have imported all four of these hotfixes into my WSUS server. Do I need to install 277551 first and then install the other three or can all four be approved and go out at once? I guess I am hung up on the language of "After this update is installed
    .... ". I want to put all 4 of these on our Win7 machines as well as my 40+ WinServer 2008 R2 machines

    I read somewhere that over half of the updates included in Win7 SP1 and WinServer 2008 R2 SP1 were originally released as hotfixes. This means Microsoft made the decision that a large number of hotfixes would benefit every user of these two OSs
    I think your conclusion is flawed. The only thing that you can draw from the presented statistic, is that Microsoft determined that a significant percentage of updates originally released as hotfixes warranted the additional investment in regression testing
    to subsequently release those hotfixes as updates.
    The fact that they bundled these 90 hotfixes together leads me to the same conclusion.
    In fact, exactly the opposite conclusion applies: What you have in this package is all the rest of the stuff that didn't make that cut. What you have in this package are still NOT-regression tested hotfixes, they've just been bundled up for easy deployment
    (and note that three of them got further broken in the process of bundling), causing yet three more hotfixes to have to be released.
    In fact I read the MS Team Blog about this big hotfix release and they say the same thing, all users of these OSs would benefit from the installation of this hotfix rollup, not just a subset of users.
    I suspect there are a notable number of patch administrators and systems administrators who would disagree with that self-serving promotion. If, in fact, it's true that "all users" would benefit, then the product team should have invested the effort in properly
    regression testing those hotfixes, and releasing them as REAL updates. They did not; ergo the *actual* value is less than claimed.
    Of course the bugaboo here is the fact that three other individual hotfixes need to be installed after the big hotfix rollup is installed.
    Exactly! (And those are just the attempted fixes that broke something. Who knows how many other "fixes" may still result in newly discovered "broken stuff" that was never broken in the first place.)
    The second part of this question should revolve around an itemized review of the hotfixes contained in this rollup with one simple question asked for each:
    Have we actually *experienced* the issue addressed by this hotfix.
    Where hotfixes are concerned one very simple but important rule applies:
    If it ain't broken, don't try to fix it!

  • EVGET in BPC 7 MS and SQL 2008

    Have there been any change in how evget works in BPC 7 MS with SQL 2008 compared with BPC 5,1 and SQL 2005?
    When I use EVGET in BPC 5.1 and SQL 2005 I always get RFN# when the cell with EVGET isn't updated.
    But now when I'm trying BPC 7 and SQL 2008 I get i zero (0) when cell isn't updated. And some times I get another value that isn't the right value for that specific EVGET formula, seems like the system has an old value in memory thats shows, but when I update the, right value shows up in the cell.
    This can be a bit confusing and even worse, in some of our reports the wrong value isn't updated when report is refreshed.
    Anyone with the same problem or anyone who know if there are any changes made how the data is refreshed in EVGET formulas

    Did anoyone resolve this issue? - we are facing the same

  • SAP Conversion Agent for PI 7.1 EHP 1 and Windows 2008 Support

    Hello
    I have read that some people were able to run SAP Conversion Agent on a PI 7.1 EHP1 Installation on Windows 2008 Sever. But in the Product Availability Matrix there is no support for 2008 yet.
    In the SAP Library (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/43/fc39c16bfb025ee10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm) under the release notes for SAP Conversion Agent there is still version 8.5, but when I install the actual Support Package I have Conversion Agent 8.6 running and according to information on the informatica.com site this version is running under 2008!
    Has anybody clear and actual information about which OS the newest SAP Conversion Agent for PI 7.1 EHP1 supports? Or has anyone experiance on Conversion Agent and Windows 2008 Server?
    Thanks
    Christoph

    Hi Mark
    Thanks for your reply! Fact is that in the actual Package (SP06) the version of Conversion Agent Engine supplied is not 8.5.5 as in the SAP Note mentioned, it is version 8.6.0:
    C:\Documents and Settings\pi1adm>CM_console -v
    Engine-Version: 8.6.0(Build:30)
    Engine-Syntaxversion:4.00.10
    I will oben a ticket for that ...
