Crashing cFP with http port scan?

cFP-2010 running 6.1 RT, embedded application communicating via vi server to host #1. Embedded webserver is enabled but serving (properly) only default pages.
Scan of port 80 causes cFP module to stop responding to port 3363 requests and crash. Seems to reboot spontaneously about half the time, other times it locks up with the red status led blinking 18 times then pausing.
Port scan is performed from host #2 using nmap 3.50. Command is:
nmap -A -p 80 192.168.7.24 -v
The specific request that is causing the problem appears to be 'OPTIONS / HTTP/1.0'. The response generated is 'HTTP/1.0 501 Service Temporarily Overloaded'. No 3363 requests are responded to after this and the embedded application stops.
Enabling webserv
er log did not make any difference and nothing was recorded in the log. Adding a delay to the scan did not make a difference.
Any thoughts or suggestions? We anticipate using the embedded web server so turning it off isn't really an option. Thanks.

Do you see the same issue when it's on your subnet?
cFP is on the local subnet; haven't tried a different network.

I'm not actually browsing to any .vis yet. We're using just the default 'Fieldpoint Embedded Webserver' page that shows the IP, mac, S/N, etc. Requests for the main page and subsequent links all work properly. There are no
restrictions on access for either the webserver or tcp.

    We have OSB service and we are able to access over firewall. Also the WSDL, Schemas etc., But when we external users access the WSDL, they are not able to get complete content i.e schemas are not imported.
    Reason is WSDL has http (<import schemaLocation="http://test.com:80/xxxxxx/Proxy/schema") with port no 80 instead of https (<import schemaLocation="https://test.com/xxxxxx/Proxy/schema") .
    Since we don't specify the complete schema location in WSDL, how does WSDL include the complete schema path? And how to change it https path instead of http?

    Explanation:
    What I mean is, When the external users access the WSDL (I am assuming External Users are able to access WSDL through Firewall),
    As you have mentioned that XSD imports have HTTP instead of HTTPS, but how about the soap:address location? Even this points to HTTP instead of HTTPS?
    (Ex:
    <wsdl:service name="CaduceusSiteService">
        <wsdl:port name="site_pt" binding="tns:site_pttBinding">
            <soap:address location="https://www.test.com/test123"/>    ---> is this HTTP or HTTPS?
        </wsdl:port>
    </wsdl:service>
    BTW, did you set, HTTP Transport Configuration --> HTTPS required parameter to "YES"? (This is a prerequisite).
    We had a similar issue, where we had HTTP instead of HTTPS when WSDL accessed from Firewall.
    However, after lot of struggle, we got it worked after changing Firewall (MS TMG) settings to support for "text/xml".
    I think, it could be the same settings needed to done in your case too. Please do check the firewall settings.

  • Over and over again: port scan TCP issuing from my mac. How can I stop this

    I have set our router to send me an alarm whenever it is attacked.
    I have noticed before that when I use Google Maps, Google Earth, Google's Picasa my mac attacks other IP's with a port scan TCP.
    As of this morning my mac has startet to attack our router about every minute, and none of the above applications ist running.
    How can I get this to stop?

    I'm experiencing a similar issue with some of the systems I support at a University. One was issuing tons of outbound ICMP requests to address 0.0.0.0 and another was port scanning a (seemingly) random name server. The systems themselves are behind a pretty aggressive firewall, as far as inbound traffic goes. Any thoughts?

  • WRVS4400N Drops Internet Connectivity with PORT SCAN

    I just installed a WRVS440N router and it appears that every time a PORT SCAN happens, the router just shuts down and drops Internet Connectivity for about a minute or two, then once the PORT SCAN is done everything seems back to nomal?
    I have heard many complaints about this router and wonder does anyone else have this issue?
    I also have very erratic Internet connections speeds and I turened off the IPS feature and that seems to help. I am running version 2.0.8 Firmware.
    If anybody has any tips or tricks to improve this router would like to hear. I can only say I regret buying this thing.

    I suggest you to play around with the wireless settings on the router, Like changing the wireless name , channel and the type of wireless security.

  • Issues with McAfee IPS and HP PhotoSmart Premium C309g-m performing port scan

    Trying to run a HP PhotoSmart Premium C309g-m printer wirelessly and connect to a laptop computer with Windows 7 32-bit operating system.  Printer is available for about 3 and a half minutes and then is blocked by McAfee because the printer is trying to perform a UDP port scan.  The IP address of the printer is blocked for 10 minutes and then becomes available again.  After about 3 and a half minutes, the printer IP address is again blocked by McAfee IPS for 10 minutes and the cycle repeats again.  Goes on all day.  Difficult to get any work done.  Anyone have a fix to stop the port scans?  Thanks

    How is this printer connected? Wireless or USB?
    Please make sure you have followed this entire HP document on Color or Brightness Level of Scanned Image is Not Correct. I would like to test out the hardware within your printer.   • Can not seem to connect to an HTTPS with a port number

    I am building an application that needs to connect to an https with a port number...
    If the url is 'https://xxx.yyy.zzz' and the port is 5000 what would I use? I have found examples with out a port number but not with a port number...

    That is definitely not correct in this situation.
    I think what is throwing me is that they specified
    the the host as 'https://xxx.yyy.zzz' where really
    they want an SSL connection... I think anyways...
    Generally there are two situations.
    1. There are two possible connections/protocols. One is SSL only and the other is https.
    2. They got carried away with the documentation. They added a section describing how SSL works. The protocol within SSL is still http. That is the definition of https though.

  • Error handling problem with outbound idoc status 02 and  XML HTTP Port

    I set up an ALE scenario to send master data out of SAP via an XML HTTP port.  All goes well until the idoc receives error 02. 
    It looks like idocs in this error status with the use of an XML HTTP port can not be reprocessed via the standard SAP techniques.  Program RBDAGAIN takes them out of the list for reprocessing (even though the connection is back up and running).
    Is there any solution to still use the standard ALE error handling ?

    Looks like based on note 701597, you can only reprocess these idocs manually via a workitem.  I qouted the relevant text below:
    3. Error handling with status '02':
    An HTTP IDoc in status '02' should not automatically be sent once again.
    Up to now, the RBDAGAIN report was used to resend incorrect IDocs.
    However, this report was adjusted and now deletes all IDocs in status 02
    to be routed to a HTTP port from the list of selected IDocs. IDocs to a
    HTTP port in status '02' should only be sent manually via a work item.

    We are receiving the error "02_Error passing data to port-Communication error when  sending with HTTP", when sending the idoc to PI from ECC system.
    Observation:
    1. Some idocs are failing and immediately after sometime the same type of  idocs with different idoc numbers are getting successful.
    Eg: Orders. One purchase order is failing at one point of time. later another purchase order is getting successful after some time to the same partner.
    2. If i perform the reset of idoc, then it is getting delivered during next scheduled job run.
    please help me in resolving the issue.

    status 02 is     Error passing data to port ...it simply means your port setting has some problem. do configure your port setting and also in partner profile

  • Scanning crashes Adobe with my New HP Multifunction MFP M476dw

    I recently upgraded my laster scanner printer from an older HP to a new HP MFP M476dw.  Scanning using the HP tools works fine, but scanning using Acrobat XI pro causes acrobat to crash as soon as the scan is complete.  Often is shows the scanned document but crashes before I select a location to save it.  This happened on OS-X mavericks and still happens on Yosemite.

    That should work.  I confirmed it on my server using http on port 84.
    Are you sure that the server is working and you have access?  When I tried the example you gave, I get access denied.

  • Issue with ACS 4 and AAA. Port scan shows no Radius but does show tacacs

    to start I am new to ACS so if this is an easy issue to solve please forgive me. I am trying to get Authentication working with ACS 4. I setup everything according to the instructions and when I try to test authentication with VPN concentrator I get a No active server found error. I have tried using an Internal user to start and I also have tried an AD account. If I port scan the ACS server I do not see it advertising port 1645 but I do see Port 49 for tacacs and I also see Ports 2000-2002. CSRadius is running.

    Actually, to avoid any issues I made CSRadius listen on BOTH sets of ports :)
    So unless that got changed without my knowing it should be listening on 1645/6 and 1812/3

  • Port Scan with Network Utility

    I'm a little confused by the results of a port scan I just completed using Network Utility. With ARD checked in the Sharing Services pane I believe that ports 5900 and 3283 are opened but while the port scan revealed that TCP 5900 was opened there was no mention of 3283. Could this be why I'm having trouble Observing and Controlling a remote machine? I have also checked all Access Privileges for ARD.
    Hoping someone can throw a little light on the subject.

    I've moved on a little since my post of a week ago and although I still can't work out why the Network Utility port scan didn't detect 3283 I have been able to connect to and Observe and Control a remote client on my small LAN. I have two machines connected through a Linksys router - one connected with airport and one directly connected with ethernet.
    On the Admin machine (machine A) I have four accounts: New York, LA, Chicago and Miami.
    On the Client machine (machine B) I also have four accounts: London, Paris, Rome and Berlin.
    The main account for machine A has been New York and for machine B has been London. I have been unable to use the Observe and Control feature from New York to London although all other services are available.
    As a test I opened three other accounts on each of the two machines and discovered that I could Observe and Control using any combination of the new accounts but still not the original New York account. I have also connected to machine B using a dns service address so this tells me that port forwarding on the router is configured correctly.
    I believe there is probably something in the configuration or preferences files of the New York account which is preventing me from connecting to any of the other accounts on machine B. The error message I get when trying to Control or Observe is "Connection Failed to Machine B".
    Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

    I have created test certificates using the openssl command. I am having problems with using this certificate in a web browser application I have created in Java. I have no problems with http requests. The certificate is self-signed and is no expiried. Could you please help me with the steps involved with making a connection to my Apache server with https.
