Create a BEx variable which should by default contain current date, etc

Hi,
I need to create 2 variables: ZDATE01 and ZDATE02.
They will be used in the following situation:
0DATETO >= ZDATE01
and
0DATEFROM <= ZDATE02
to only display records on a current "key" date.
ZDATE01 should be a variable that has current date pre-populated in it on the variable entry screen in BEx Web Analyzer, so that users do not have to type in the date themselves.
ZDATE02 should be a replacement path variable to be replaced by whatever is the value of ZDATE01.
How would I accomplish ZDATE01 variable having current date pre-populated in it on the variable entry screen?
I tried creating ZDATE01 variable with having SAP exit variable as replacement path, but it did not let me.

How do I create an automator variable for a path that includes a date?

I like to use Image Capture to scan documents into a hierarchy of folders under my ~/Documents directory that are organized by year and document type. For example, I have

Well now, you went and made me learn something today. In the Variables Library, under Utilities, is a variable named AppleScript. You can put a small script into this that evaluates to your path, for example:
((((path to documents folder) as text) & "archives:" & (year of (current date)) as text) & ":Utilities") as alias
If the script evaluates to a proper path, it can be used wherever any other path can - you can experiment by looking at the results of a Get Value of Variable action.

VF11 - Billing Date should be defaulted with system date

Hi All,
My requirement is to default the System date in Billing Date for the transaction VF11.
Please let me know whether any Exits/BADI exist for this.
I tried to create the field exit but the problem is for this Billing Date field there is no Parameter ID , so how can I assign the todays date to Billing date field in VF11 else is there any other way to do this ????.

Outlook event export defaults to current date/time

iCal suddenly started imported all outlook exported events as "Private Event" at the date and time of the import rather than the date and time specified in the exported event.
Any help?

As Tom says, it's not the form you should be exporting but its data. To export as a PDF file the easiest way is to do so is as a report which is restricted to the data in question by means of a parameter in its underlying query. The report
layout can mirror the layout of your form of course, and you might even be able to save time in designing it by copying and pasting objects from the form to the report, with both in design view, and then fine tuning the design of the report manually.

Display Key and Text in Variable Selection Box by Default in BEx

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to display both key and text in the variable selection box by default.
Currently, only the text is being displayed.
The 'wrench' can be used to change the display, but the client would like to see both key and text by default.
Is there a way I can accomplish this?

i have done the same settings in development and its working fine and we can see key/text bydefault in variable selection in Dev. and when i transport the cube into quality the settings are reflecting but in analyzer(QA) variable selection screen still its giving text(DEFAULT). could you please provide me the solutions to do it.

Current date should be populated when executing the hierachy variable.

I have a customer hi-erachy.For that hierachy i created a variable.
The variable name is hieraachy date.
the variable will be executed with user entry/default value.
the characteristic i used for thata variable is date.
Now the requirement is the date should be populated with current date when ever i executed the variable automatically
I thk i need to develop customer exit for this. I am not so comfort with coding.
can anybody will help me on this issue. suggest me with logic or any further idea.

Below is the erro when i added the code and i restrict the customer exit variable.
ERRORS:
INCORRECT FORMAT WITH KEY DATE FOR ELEMENT "43Z6K6807CL51WZ025Q1GPHER"(VALUE "&&" IS INVALID).
Below is the diagnosis for the error.
You are using a key date specification in the query. This can be either in the query key date directly or in the key date for a selection or presentation hierarchy. the element, in which this error was found, is called "43Z6KGHDHHJ5VYWJU8UEVBRRK". The invalid value is called "&&".
System response
The problem is reported with the check.
Procedure
Check the incorrect format in the specified element and correct it.
Technical name (UID) of the element: "43Z6KGHDHHJ5VYWJU8UEVBRRK".
I am checking the UID in rsa1> transprot connection>query element-->variable.But system is not showing any UID. Any idead on the above issue.

Cascading LOV in BEx Query OLAP Universe + BEx variable

Hi gurus,
we have an universe where a Cascading LOV has been defined based on a BO Hierarchy ( based on a BW hierarchy), the OLAP universe is based on a BEx query.
Now, when the users create a WebI report selecting a value from the value list, the Cascading LOV appears and the user selects the value, descending by the nodes.
We are analyzing the universe performance and we are testing to add some time BEx variables in the query ( in the current version no variables are used).
Everything works properly but when we try to select a value from the Cascading LOV and try to select a lower level the webI returns a mdx error indicanting that the time variable is not informed. (WIS 10901: A database error ocurred; MDX query can not be executed: specify a value for the variable Z... )
We thought that the mdx for the LOV get values from the MD table because in the infoobject definition, it has the Business Explorer Settings:
Query Def. Filter Value Selection = Value in Master Data Table
Query Execution Filter Val. Selectn = Value in Master Data Table
The Query Execution Filter Val. Selectn can be defined at the infoprovider also (with the provider specific Properties of the infoobject) and also at the query, whe have not modify none of them.
My first question is which settings has efect at OLAP Universes, the infoobject settings; the infocube settings or the query settings ?
Are the Cascading LOV integrated with BEx Query OLAP Universe?
Is it an application error?

That was one of the possibilities we have analized but the problem is that the user has to inform the hierarchy level for all the reports, that kind of variables is translated in the universe as a prompt
Now we have only one universe and some business analists users create reports themselves for the business area based on that universe.
The users create WebI filters without prompts,just filtering the hierarchy node. If we add the BEx variable then the user sould inform the prompt for all the reports based on that universe.
We want to avoid that prompt, we have several hierarchies in the query for different infoobjects.

WEBI prompt based on bex variable suppress not assigned hashtag value in LOV

Hi,
is it possible to suppress the "Not assigned (#)" value from the list of values in a webi prompt based on a bex variable?
This "Not assigned" value is something BW specific, BW adds this to each characteristic automatically?!

It needs to work in WEBI, not only in RSRT, and the filtering of data still needs to work.
For rsrt it works, when you exclude the not assigned value in "Filter > Characteristic Restrictions" and use the bex variable in/through "Filter > Default Values", but this does not work in WEBI, because the BEX Query Data is not filtered on the in the prompt selected value.

I could manage to avoid # values in WebI prompt using BAdI implementation, here is the brief:
Problem:
WebI report prompt (which shows BEx variable) list of values shows blanks or # . Rrequirement was to avoid these blanks or #
Environment:
BW 7.3
BO 4.0
BW Cube > BEx Query > OLAP Connection > WebI report
Solution:
InfoObject Level1 in BW had # values in masterdata, this could not be deleted since it was in use with other Cubes.
Vaurable Var_Level1 displays # when pressed F4 running BEx query and in list of values in WebI report prompt.
I implemented BAdI on Level1 info object and variable Var_Level1.
Steps to implement BAdI are as in following link

How to create a context menu which appears on right click

Hello Experts,
I want to create a context menu which should appear on the right click of a mouse anywhere on the screen.
I have seen this functionality in one of the sap applications, and i guess this is an inbuild functionality in Webdynpro for ABAP but in WebDynpro Java i haven't found any such inbuild functionality.
Does anybody have any idea about it ?

Context menus are not supported in NW04 and NW04s, they will be available in the next major release.

How to call a FM for a BEx Variable

Hi,
   I have created a BEx Variable of type Customer Exit called 'ZCA8764'
   I intend to actually automatically calculate the number of days in the month.
   Through some discussions here, I found that I can use a FM NUMBER_OF_DAYS_PER_MONTH_GET
   So, I went to CMOD.
   But there onwards, I don`t know how to write a code to link the Variable and the FM.
Can someone please advice with a sample code ?
   Can someone please assist.

To Blank out system default requested delivery date when create Sales Order

I am facing a problem when create Sales Order doc copy with reference to a contract.
The create with reference screen under the Contract tab, SAP default with current date as the Requested delivery date.
Is there any way to blank out this default as I need to use the requested delivery data in the contract doc ?

Try this--
While defining the Contract sales docment type in VOV8, uncheck the proposed delivery date field in the tab Requested delivery date/ reqested pricing date/reqested prchase order date
I will not propose the system date and leaves the field blank
you can enter the required delivery date.

How to set default value to current date in Webcenter Imaging Application?

I have created an application in Webcenter Imaging and have a field called as ScanDate.
While uploading documents against that particular application, i want that ScanDate field should default to Current Date.
I tried setting the default value but it becomes a static date.
Can anyone suggest me what to do in this case?

You can't do that anyway. The default values are saved as part of the VI and a built application can not do that. Instead, you will have to do this yourself by saving the data to a file, loading it and wiring it into a local variable of the control. You can do this, for example, with the configuration file VIs or, if you want to rely on the good work that other people already did, you can go to the OpenG site and download their file package, which includes saving control values to INI files.

I'd also watch out for comparisons to SYSDATE - remember that SYSDATE includes the current time, so you'd need to take that into account (maybe you could make use of the TRUNC function to remove the time element?). Indeed, would javascript evaluate that expression as comparing two dates (I know Javascript evaluates variables byDuck Typing but does this work in practice)?

How to make default values for date range?

Dear Colleagues,
My customer is asking for a default value for a date range prompt.
The FromDate should contain the 1st of current month, the ToDate should contain current date.
Does anyone have any idea how I can meet this demand?

Thank you for the answer, we are back to the challenge after summer vacations!
I have created a variable in the universe: SELECT current date as TODAY FROM SYSIBM.SYSDUMMY1. I Called it TODAY.
Then I created a prompt in the query based on Date. In Prompt Properties I tagged for "Set Default Values" and I typed in TODAY.
When I try to run the query I get the error message: The date for the query filter based on 'Date' is invalid (WIS10704).
What is wrong? What do I have to do differently?
My goal is to have a default for Date that gives me today..

Billing Date should be Current Date

At present , system takes billing date from PGI document. However this field is editable at the bill of billing ( VF01 ). User can change it. Our requirement is as under :
We want the same to be made non editable OR it should pick up the current date but not future date.
Kindly suggest how it is possible.

This is Material management froum,any way,Use transaction variant(SHD0) to display billing date as non editable in VF01(By standard If u don't enter billing date it will take current system date as default,Billing Date is determined based on Invoicing date in Customer master Sales area billing tab).
