Create Cache to warm up cube

Hi all:
 I recently realized the Cube Cache did help the performance quite a bit ... Questions:
 1. How long can these cache last? Everyday, I will process update on all dimensions and process full on currentYear partitions,
will cube cache disappear?
2. Can I use olapquerylog table to capture query usage frequency by users ? what's the relationship between aggregations and cache?  I was under the impression that more aggregation will also boost performance
3. In the olayqueylog table, the column dataset contains a bunch of 0 and 1, where can I find the mapping info? also the MSOLAP_ObjectPath shows xxxxxx.xxx.xxx.Fact Order or  xxxxxx.xxx.xxx.Fact Order 1, I know it's referring to Measure groups
and currently I only have two measure groups which is easy to tell. But if I got more than 2 measures groups, this naming is  goint to be a trouble, anyway to change it?
Thanks

As per my understanding, the cache will always exist until you restart the Analysis Services or clear the clear the cache manually. you can refer to the useful links.

  • Problem creating cache group for a table with data type varchar2(1800 CHAR)

    Hi,
    I am using TimesTen 7.0 with Oracle 10.2.0.4 server. While creating Cache Group for one of my table I'm getting the following error.
    5121: Non-standard type mapping for column TICKET.DESCRIPTION, cache operations are restricted
    5168: Restricted cache groups are deprecated
    5126: A system managed cache group cannot contain non-standard column type mapping
    The command failed.
    One of my filed type in oracle table is Varchar2(1800 CHAR). If I change the filed size to <=1000 it (E.g. Varchar2(1000 CHAR)) then the Create Cache command works fine.
    MyDatabase Character Set is UTF8.
    Is it possible to solve without changing the filed size in the Oracle Table?
    Request your help on this.

  • How to Create Process Chain for Remote Cube.

    Hi,

    Thanks,
    Nandish Gowda

    Hi Nandish,
    After initialization, th next delta will come as per your delta nature, if it is 0calday: Then your next delta will come tomorrow only.
    If you are able to 7 records in RSA3, why not in PSA( Why it's only 5 records). Analyze this closely.
    Sometimes, RSA3 exactly doesn't match with PSA because, RSA3 works on update mode F.

  • EJB CMP remove create cache issue? DuplicateKeyException

    EJB CMP remove create cache issue? DuplicateKeyException
    Hi I have an EJB 2.1 application using CMP. Most things work fine. But if I in a transaction tries to remove a bean and create a new one with the same primary key I get a DuplicateKeyException:
    2007-11-16 09:25:31,963 ERROR [RMICallHandler-6] AdminGroupData_ConcreteSubClass147 - Error adding AccessRules:
    javax.ejb.DuplicateKeyException: Exception [EJB - 10007]: Exception creating bean of type [AccessRulesData]. Bean already exists.
    at oracle.toplink.internal.ejb.cmp.EJBExceptionFactory.duplicateKeyException(EJBExceptionFactory.java:195)
    I suspect that the remove call only removes from the cache (until commit), but that the create call checks the database or something?
    My code is simple like the following:
    AdminPreferencesDataLocal apdata1 = adminpreferenceshome.findByPrimaryKey(certificatefingerprint);
    adminpreferenceshome.remove(certificatefingerprint);
    adminpreferenceshome.create(certificatefingerprint,newadminpreference);
    Is there some configuration I can set in toplink-ejb-jar.xml to fix this?
    I use OC4j 10.1.3.3
    Cheers,
    Tomas

    The bean.remove() was executed but the sql DELETE was executed to the database as the result, oc4j manages all sql statements and they are optimized to commit to the database in batch at once when the transaction commit. Oc4j ejb container is smart and preventing you from creating the same entity cached in the transaction because the sql delete was not really committed to the database when the create is called.
    My guess is that the reason it works with IBM WAS was because it issued sql for each remove/create call right away instead of doing them in batch as oc4j, or your WAS remove then create were called in separate transactions.

  • Integration Builder - runtime data cache - Error when creating cache list

    All,
    When I go into the Integration Builder --> Administration --> Runtime tab --> Data Cache
    I get a message saying "Error when creating cache list".
    All cache areas look ok and I do not see any other error.
    Also, RFC INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI looks good.
    Please advise.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
      Use transaction SXI_CACHE to update the Integration Directory cache. Alternatively, you can use the following URLs to update the CPA cache. Use XIDIRUSER to refresh the cache.
    For complete cache refresh u2013 http://<hostname>:<port>/CPACache/refresh?mode=full
    For delta cache refresh u2013 http://<hostname>:<port>/CPACache/refresh?mode=delta
    If this does not solve the issue, check transaction SLDCHECK to ensure that connection to SLD is available. If the connection fails, check the configuration in the transaction SLDAPICUST. Make sure that the password maintained is correct and the maintained service user is not locked.
    Now in the Integration Repository go to Environment u2192 Clear SLD Data Cache. Also go to Integration Directoy and clear the cache using menu Environment u2192 Clear SLD Data Cache.
    Open the XI Start Page and click on Administration. On the Repository tab, choose Cache Overview. Refresh the cache using the buttons/icons on the right. Use XIDIRUSER to refresh the cache. Carry out cache refresh in the same way on the Directory and Runtime tabs.
    regards,
    ganesh.

  • How to create universe for sap bw cubes in Business objects

    Hi all,
    can anybody tell me the steps to create universe for SAP BW CUBES from Business objects software.
    Thanks.
    Cheta.

    Hi,
    In a SAP-BW and BO environment using Business Object Universe generator, it appears that BO requires direct data base connectivity to read data from BW.
    In XI/XI R2 , it use an RFC connection (MDX driver, which makes BAPI, SAP API calls) to SAP BW to obtain the details of the BW Query or Info Cube for building the Universe using the XI/XIR2 Business Objects designer application. The request for the query or cube details is done VIA BAPI function calls. For the SAP BW Query we must have “allow External Access to this query” checked under the Query Property window.
    Our Integrated Solution Kits do not access the SAP BW’s data source.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards

  • Can we create two Filters for one cube

    Hi all,
    I created two filters for one cube (in 11v), I assigned this filters to one user in shared services , so which filter work,
    I think ,We have to assign only one filter for one user , please i need clarification....
    Thanks
    Edited by: user98631 on 12 mars 2010 05:13

    You can create many filters for one cube. I usually associate one group per filter and a user can have one or more groups assigned to them. Can't remember what happens when a user has access to conflicting filters (i.e. the order of preference). It is in the DBAG I am sure though.

  • How to create cache?

    In my web application we have to cerate cache. how can i create cache and what are the jar files.
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
    By defalult, web application creates cache itself.
    But if u want to remove cache then add the below thing in the header section of your jsp page:
    response.setHeader("Cache-Control", "no-cache");
    response.setHeader("pragma","no-cache");
    response.setDateHeader("Expires", 0);
    Jar Files: are the collection of java classes.

  • Permission problem while creating cache group

    Hi,
    I am trying to create cache groups on SQL developer in TimesTen Cache DB. I have connected to the CacheDB using schema owner/password (say HR/HR). While creating a cache group, I am required to set cache administrator, which in turn requires this user (that is the schema user) to have the CACHE_MANAGER permission.
    Is it necessary for the schema user to also be the cache_manager to be able to create a cache group?
    As per the documentation, no such requirement has been mentioned, which means I am probably missing a step in between.
    Also, if I connect to the DB via Cache Manager user (cacheuser/timesten with oracle as ORA pwd), I don't see the HR schema tables while creating a cache group.
    Could someone clarify this?
    Thanks in advance!

    A cache admin user require CACHE_MANAGER privilege to do all cache operation. It has been documented here
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21901_01/doc/timesten.1122/e21634/prereqs.htm#CHDJBIAE
    Please go through the section "Configuring a TimesTen database to cache Oracle data " for setting up cache in Timesten side.
    "As the instance administrator, use the ttIsql utility to grant the cache manager user cacheuser the required privileges:
    Command> GRANT CREATE SESSION, CACHE_MANAGER, CREATE ANY TABLE TO cacheuser;

  • Automation for creating cache groups process

    Hi All,
    I've got ~100 tables in Oracle DB and I'd like to cache them.
    I dont want to define a 100 cache group because it is time consuming.
    Are there any method to automate the creating cache groups process?
    Thanks.

    Hi 928879,
    Unfortunately, there is no way to automate this process. You can write a script for unloading the tables' descriptions but the defining a cache groups (create read only cache group) you should write by hands.

  • Creating aggregate based on plan cube

    Hi,
    For the standard baisc cube, we can use the aggregate to improve the query performacne.
    and when the new request comes, it will be ready for reading only after this request is rolled up to aggregate.
    Now I create a aggregate and do the initialzation fill-up for this aggregate, all the requests with green status have been rolled up to the aggregate. There is no any problem.
    but I get one quesion here, for the most updated request, it is usally with yellow status because this cube is ready for input. and this yellow request can not be rolled up to aggregate until it is turned to green. But from our testing, the query can read the required data from both the aggregate and this yellow request. that's to say, it seems the query based on this plan cube can summarize the data from both the aggregate and this yellow request.
    Is there anyone can confirm our testing is correct and it is the specific property of the plan cube?
    Many Thanks
    Jonathan

    Hi Jonathan,
    the OLAP processor knows whether requests are already contained in an aggregate or not; depending on the actualdata setting (cf. note 1136163) the query also is able to read data from the yellow request; this is automatically the case for input ready queries.
    In fact, even the OLAP cache may be involved to read the data, cf. note 1138864 for more details.

    Gregor
