Create directory tree

Hi Guys,
I wanted to create a chart/graph or whatever you name it, I
don't know if this can be done or not,
My idea is to create a webpage where anyone can access the
page and they will click the browse button and point the
folder/directory and the page should get the subfolder and files
and create a chart .
Is this doable ? , Any help or suggestion or ways of doing of
doing is greatly appreciated.

Your link does not seem to work.They're re-jigging all the links to accomodate the hot poop on Oracle's latest and greatest, 10G. So at least the website is on schedule even if the actual software delivery dates have slipped :P

Creating a directory tree

I am a newbe in java/jsp and i want to create a session java bean which can contain the structure of a directory tree. Like the one of windows explorer. I am having a java been containig the cuurent state of the tree. Should thid bean be a vector of vectors of vectors or is there a better way to store the trees current structure. And if i make it like vector of vectors will i be able to iterate the multidimansional vectors with jsp tags??
Any ideas on how to make the file tree?

You can use the JSP Tree Tag I have developed. This helps you both structuring the tree model itself + it takes care of displaying the tree in a nice way. You can change all HTML code used to display the tree. Also you can build trees dynamically instead of just displaying static trees. Take a look at it here:

Directory Tree Portlet

We are looking for a portlet that will allow content providers to create new folders via a simple Windows Explorer (directory tree) style interface. We need the interface to be properly linked to the database so that it reflects the current structure and so that folders can also be deleted via the same interface. It should have all the basic expanding and collapsing features and I would like it to show the content of the folders like Explorer does. Can anyone give me guidance on whether such a portlet already exists or how difficult it would be to develop if it does not exist? (Or maybe I'm headed down the wrong path here and should use a completely different solution...)

This sounds more like an iFS requirement. It does all that (and more!), but not as a portlet (yet?).
You can approximate the directory tree with a Portal Content area (which is available as a portlet), and you get pretty much everything except the expand/collapse bit. It's more along the lines of drill down/drill up.

How would i go about making an interface which looks like a directory tree within a webpage.

If you look at the example given by David and go to jqueryFileTree.css you will notice the style rules that have been used to supply an image to the list element. In this example the classes are determined by a JS function.
In your case you need to create an image carrying a plus sign and apply that in the same manner.

Directory Tree.

What I an doing is trying to manage the files, for a small project, and I will be taking care of the documents versions.
I was wondering if it is possible to to create a the whole Directory tree, where the names of the subfiles can also be displayed.
I need a pointer in the right direction, rest I will try to do it my self, as I need to ad some functionality according to my needs.
Information is appreciated.

Directory tree in Windows

When I downloaded iTunes it created a directory tree with two subdirectories --- Album Artwork and iTunes Music. All downloads -- music, audiobooks, and movies seemed to be located here. Shouldn't I expected to see a series of subdirectories -- podcasts, movies, audiobooks, music -- for each category of download I've purchased. The reason this comes up is the audiobooks show up as entries in Albums on my iPod and I'd like to get them out of there. When I open the iTunes library they are classified correctly.

You could write it as a static initializer in your main class. That'll
cause it to run before anything else.

Method for copying a directory tree from production server to test server

I have DSEE 6.3 running on Solaris 10 (servers A, B & C are multi-mastered and replicating successfully) in production. I have the same arrangement on a test set of servers (D, E, F). Could someone explain what is the best method for zapping the entire directory tree on test servers D, E, F ... and creating a complete copy of the tree on production servers A, B, C ... and then loading that copy on test servers D, E, F?

Referenced photo directory tree - refresh import?

Okay, maybe I need to completely change the way I do things, but I can't figure this out.
I just did a full import of a multi-level directory tree into Aperature, and it works great (although it took a while). There are multiple levels, and thousands of photos. They are stored on a NAS on an NFS share.
Photos can be added to the NAS from lots of places, including a PC or another Mac.
What I want to be able to do, manually or automatically, is update Aperture with new photos. Auto seems unlikely, but manual seems like it should be possible.
The problem is, it always imports everything again. I've tried reimporting the directory at the top level, and Aperture creates a second tree with a "(1)" after it, rather than updating the original. I've tried dragging all the files from the NAS into Aperture, but it imports all duplicates, and they are no longer by reference. I've tried importing files, but the weird interface that pops up doesn't show NFS mounts or support soft-links.
Any ideas? Am I missing something obvious here?

Edit: I guess every import is a project. I think the issue is that this only works at the lowest level project. So, if I have "/Photos/Husband/Year 1/2010-07-30 - Party", if I try a reimport at, for example, "Husband", it duplicates everything?
Edit again: Nope, I just added a few new pictures to an existing lowest level folder, and it added only the new pictures, but added a new project with a (1) after it. In the above example, it created a "/Photos/Husband/Year 1/2010-07-30 - Party (1)" project in Aperture with just the new photos.

The aim is to select the item and one by one i have to get the Path and give as an input to by application VI.

Following are my requirement:
1) I need to populate a tree given a root directory, listing all the Folders and file of cetain pattern(*.pjt... ther will be only one *.pjt in every subfolders).
2) I need a check box for every *.pjt to select the its path. The list of pjt files selected are used for my automation test suit.

How can I create a Tree with Color Picker icons?

I'm a newbie to Flex. I want to create a tree which has color
picker icons.
As an analogy for the Mac users out there, I envision a
control like the Calendars section in iCal, where you can specify
the color for each individual node. These colors are then used in
other parts of the application.
The Flex 3 documentation specifies four methods for setting
node icons on a Tree control, none of which seems to suit my needs:
-The folderOpenIcon, folderClosedIcon, and defaultLeafIcon
properties
-Data provider node icon fields
-The setItemIcon() method
-The iconFunction property
In other words, I want to "setItemIcon" to an mx:ColorPicker,
if that makes any sense.
Is there a standard way of doing this? If not, how can I go

The FTree package provides functions to populate the tree - look for the topic "Manipulating a hierarchical tree at runtime
" in the online help this point to all the functions and triggers

Could you please list which options you are selecting when building a
source distribution (I am assuming you are using LabVIEW 8.0?).
Do you get this error when clicking on "Generate Preview" button when configuring source distribution properties?
Under "Distribution Settings" category, could you try checking the
"Disconnect type definitions and remove unuses polymorphic VI
instances" option and see if that helps with the build process?
Also I suggest Mass Compiling your VIs (Tools -> Advanced -> Mass Compile) before creating a source distribution.
If these do not help, could you attach your project with all the VIs it contains here?

So I should add, that in general those view names are "plurals" (ending with an S), e.g. dba | all | user _ objects, tables, tab_columns, indexes, synonyms, triggers, sequences, users, and so on.
(And the v$ dynamic/stats view names are often in singular, like v$metric, process, session, datafile, tablespace - but this "rule" seem to be deteriorating with new views added).

Do you mean graphically?
You can use a TreeSet or TreeMap if you just want to use tree structures.
