Create event in GOS obj to trigger workflow while attaching data with GOS

Hello experts,
It is a little bit urgent.
I have a scenario. We have to attach documents to SAP application using GOS. These documents can be edited also.
Now second part is that when we attach the document or edit the document, the document should be send with the work item "when we attach the document".
The first part of the scenario is completed and working fine. The second part of the scenario is causing problem. I have checked the various options but none of them are proving helpful.
There is an option in GOS toolbar to send the documents through workflow but that also asks for the related workflow.
I was trying to create an event for GOS object (Z object not a subtype of any other object) which can trigger the workflow automatically when the attachment are created and edited but can not go further with it as am not so strong in workflow. I ahve just created the event. Do I need to write some code for the event?
I request you to kindly help me either in creating this event which will trigger the workflow (whole process) or any other method to do the same.

Thank you for replying so early. The table point is very helpful but about the batch job I do not get it. I think the second option is good trigerring event on updation of table. But again I do not know how to do it as I have customized object so have to create the event from the scratch and that, sir, is my main problem.

There are nearly 7 tcodes in FI maintained in the set tranasction using GS01 and we desire to trigger worklfow for all those tcodes, even if another one is added in future. What is the process to go about?

Thanks for the concern.
The tcodes are SAP standard tcodes like fb50 and others for document park and post. Now the requirement is that, the set of tcodes maintained in set transaction GS01, say 7 SAP standard tcodes maintained, the workflow should trigger whenever someone parks or posts a document, which must be subsequently approved by a set of approvers and then the actual release and posting(or re-posting) takes place.
How can i achieve this using workflow, precisely to trigger worklfow for al those tcodes, now at a later date the tcodes can be either reduced or added to the set.

Wait for Event not being picked up by workflow

Hi,
We have a purchase order workflow that has a parallel branch with a wait for event of 'Released' on it. The theory is that if a PO is released the workflow will finish. We have a situation where POs are created then released straight away by an idoc. In the event log we can see the release step created event and it correctly starts the workflow however the released event follows at exactly the same time and the workflow does not seem to notice this so it sends a released PO to a user to be released. I hope this makes sense. Can anyone think of a reason why this might be happening? Does it need a slight delay between the two events? In SWEINST the linkage is active and when I look at the entry for one of these POs it tales me to the correct workflow.

Hi,
You could possibly create a check function module for the event. In the check function module you check some specific variable (if there is something you can use) - for example if the event was created by a certain user or if the PO is a certain type(?). Then if your condition is fulfilled, you raise an exception and no event will be triggered => no workflow.
This is just one possible solution.

let me clear my scenario first . i have 1 purchase order whose workflow is not triggered . means it is showing me message no workflow that have already worked for this object.i have created 1 more purchase order taking reference of this purchase order means both are same same message for this po also. it was happening because event linkage for the business object bus2012 is not activated but now it is enabled and i have created third purchase order with reference to above po means this third po is also same as above 2 no change other than po number but for this workdflow is getting triggered . now i want to trigger workflow for orignal first po but for my first po it is showing me same message that no workflow that have already worked for this object. what i have to do to trigger workflow for this po. i have performed this steps in test system. i have workflow number

      You can trigger the workflow from SWUE.Enter bus2012 and created for object type and event respectively.
      Click object key button where enter the purchase order number which have been already created.
      But, why do you want to trigger the workflow again for already created purchase order ?

Workflow - Creat events

Hi,
Can u tell me if there is some problems in creating events with this function - SWE_EVENT_CREATE - I made a report that the user just put the date,time, and type of document in order to select the documents with that parameters. After i used this function to create events to all the documents, but some of them didnt "worked". My question is, is it possible to create 100 or 300 events in one time, or in this situation it's not reliable to use this function.
ps: because the workflow stoped, all the 300 documents were without event, that's why i used this function, instead of doing by hand.

Creating 300 events in one go should normally not be a problem, but it depends on your system of course. When you say not all of them worked, does that mean not all of them triggered workflows, or that some of them didn't even show up in the event log?
Two tips, in prioritised order:
1) Check what the event-creation function returns to catch any problems there
2) Use the SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT function instead
You could of course also commit the events in smaller batches. E.g. if you are LOOPing at an internal table you could check if sy-tabix MOD 75 is zero, and COMMIT WORK AND WAIT whenever it is (in addition to the final COMMIT WORK AND WAIT before leaving the program.

Can not create event in workflow

Hi Experts,
I created a work flow. And assign a start event 'Submit' to it. This event is in oblect type Z. And when I create a document on webdynpro, i call SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT to create 'SUBMIT'. The work flow is triggered.
But when approve the doc on webdynpro call SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT to create event APPROVED. It does not work.
Why?
Event trace message is: Event APPROVED for task WS99900001 not defined as start/end event
The work flow is like this:
Start event 'SUBMIT' --> STEP send mail to approver --> Wait 'APPROVED'

What if you try to create the APPROVE event using SWUE?
I assume you are creating the event with the same key as for the SUBMIT event.
As always, try SWU_OBUF.
I've encountered that message before, never did find a reason for it. Please keep us informed how it eventually gets fixed.

How to create event

HI,
I am trying to trigger a workflow whenever a contract is created against the Requisition.
I put the trace on(SWELS) and created a contract and got BOR object FREBUS2012 and Event CREATED.
But when i am using this BOR object and Event in the start event of workflow and creating a contract it is not triggering the workflow. But workflow is getting trigered whenever i am creating PO.
When i am tracing PO creation in SWELS i am getting same BOR object and same event.
Can anyone help me with that how can i create release strategy for Contract or how can i create "CREATE" event for BOR ZBUS2014 which is the copy of BUS2014(Contract) and does not have "CREATE" event.
Can you explain me also what is release strategy. I have no idea what is that for and how it is helpful in Workflow.
Any help would be appreciated.

You don't see the created event in ZBUS2014 because you have not delegated it. Delegation means whenever created event of BUS2014 gets triggered your BO ZBUS2014 which has been delegated to BUS2014 will be called. After delegating the BO in workflow you can refer to BUS2014 wherever required instead of giving as ZBUS2014.
Steps for delegation
1. Go to SWO1 tcode
2. Enter the BO name as ZBUS2014. Click settings - delegate.
3. Click new entries. You will find three fields there.
Give Object type as BUS2014. Person responsible as your userid. Delegation type as ZBUS2014 and save this entry.

How to trigger workflow from changes in Sales Order in CRM?

Hi Experts,
I want to trigger event at the time of saving the changes in sales order (TCODE- CRMD_ORDER).
I have found one BO - BUS2000115 but it is getting triggered only after new creation of sales order.And there is no BO available when we change the sales order.For this reason I have created one customize event in BO(BUS2000115).
Now my question is How should I link this customize event so that it will trigger after saving the changes ?
I have seen SWEC transaction but was not able to find anything to link this customize event.
Please help ....!!!

In SWEC, actually you link the change document object to a Business object and its corresponding event , to which workflow should react to.
If yo udo not find the entry then, yo unedd to create one with finding out the respective chage documnet object.

Trigger workflow for MIRO invoice creation

Hello,
In standard functionning it is not possible to trigger the workflow for documents coming from MM.
When using transaction MIRO and selecting invoice creation the created document has following value :
BKPF-AWTYP = 'RMRP'. whereas creating it from FB60 results to BKPF-AWTYP = 'BKPF'.
The problem is standard code checks AWTYP is not equal to 'RMRP' before creating event to start the standard workflow for invoice validation.
Question : why sap doesn't allow workflow creation for invoices from MIRO?

All of these workflows are a one-step / one-level of approval and needs some workflow configuration at least for the agent assignments. For a full-blown workflow you should take these workflows as an example, how you could work with it.
The last two workflows work with preliminary posting on the miro (transaction MIR7).

I have a requirement when service ticket is created.After 5 days somesequence of process should happen through workflow.Now i have configured the start condition in Actions which should trigger workflow.
Will there be no specific triggering event for this workflow to trigger.As now the Action is green but no workflow is triggered.

If you mean there are three Discussion Board list waiting for synchronizing, I would suggest you create an Event Receiver for the three Discussion Board list.
