Create PHP form from MySQL table structure

Hi folks
Not directly DW related, but ....
Anybody got any recommendations for a utility which would
create a quick head
start by creating the php/html code for a basic form using
the field structure
of a MySQL table ?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Joe
Thanks for this ...
phpMyEdit looks very good and very useful, and I'm playing
with it to see just
how configurable it proves to be.
It looks good for general admin tasks etc. bet whether it
proves suitable for
end user (public) use remains to be seen.
It is basically a class which generates the page code server
side at runtime
using the parameters you set in a calling script, but of
course you can grab
the source code for the generated page which may prove to
satisfy my initial
request.
Anyway ... from what I've seen so far I could recommend that
it is well worth
some time exploring the possibilities.
Cheers,

  • Microsoft Access 2010 Creating a Form from Multiple Tables

    Hi.
    I am brand new to Microsoft Access and have had some exciting success making forms from single tables. This has made my data entry life much easier. However, I am continually stumped on one form I want to make. I would like to make a form that will let me
    update which brands retailers are selling. Most of this information is in my SalesHx table. However, my SalesHx table only uses RetailerID and BrandID to record history. The Brand's name (linked to a BrandID) is stored in my Brand Table and the Retailer name
    is stored in my Retailer table (linked to a RetailerID). I would like to be able to see the brand's name and the retailer's name when entering in data on a form, since I cannot remember the ids that associate with the names. I have been able to make a form,
    with a subform, that displays all of the information I want to see. When I update this form, though, with a new record, it invariably thinks that I am adding an entirely new record, not simply recording a new sales date for an already known brand. Even if
    I make the brand name a combo box that is limited to the fields on my table, this still happens. I will have BrandX as brand number 100 and as brand number 300 if I add it in through my sales history form. I am ready to throw access out the window. Can anyone
    offer advice?

     When I update this form, though, with a new record, it invariably thinks that I am adding an entirely new record, not
    simply recording a new sales date for an already known brand.
    In what table is the SalesDate recorded?

  • How to create a form from a table available from a database link?

    Hi,
    I have a table accessible via a database link.
    It is working perfectly, but I cannot create a from using the wizzard.
    It says: "Primary Key must be specified."
    But there is a primary key in the source database!
    Best regards,
    Sebastien (Geneva)

    a little more about dblink:
    i have a view in the dblink
    when i execute
    insert into ias_time_of_acc(ias29, end_acc_period, start_acc_period, acc_last_date_id, comp_date_id, active)
    values(:p4110_ias29, to_date(:p4110_end_acc,'DD.MM.YYYY'),
    to_date(:p4110_start_acc,'DD.MM.YYYY'),:p4110_last_date, :p4110_comp_date,'N');
    i've got this err:
    ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column ORA-02063: preceding line from OFSA_OWNER@OFSA_TO_ORCL
    and when i execute
    a:= to_date(:p4110_start_acc,'DD.MM.YYYY') ;
    b:= :p4110_last_date;
    c:= :p4110_comp_date;
    d:= :p4110_ias29;
    insert into ias_time_of_acc(ias29, start_acc_period, end_acc_period, acc_last_date_id, comp_date_id, active )
    values(d, a,to_date(:p4110_end_acc,'DD.MM.YYYY'),
    b, c,'N' );
    everything is working properly
    so problem is in the lenght of insert statment i think.

  • Trying to create fillable form from InDesign table

    I am working on a very long document, over 100 rows and about 18 columns, which will exist only as a pdf. I need to make 6 of the columns interactive so that they can be filled in with one of three letters by the end user.
    I created the design in InDesign CS 5.5 as a table. That worked well for design control, but Acrobat X 10.1.3 does not recognize any of the cells in the PDF document. Is there a different InD export option that will make a table convert to a fillable form? I used press quality, then opened the pdf in Acrobat.
    I have worked around by creating a short drop down list with the three letters in it and copied that into the cells using the Place Multiple Fields command. Then I can adjust position easily enough.
    *Except* my client would prefer that the end user just type one of the letters into the cell/field rather than doing a drop down selection on each of the several hundred cells. She'd also like to be able to copy and paste the final filled-in information into her original excel document.
    Am I missing something in Acrobat? I don't do fillable forms often and have never had one this massive.
    I am working on a Mac.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Dory, any luck on your post regarding the fillable forms in Indesign?

  • TIPS(18) : CREATING SCRIPTS TO RECREATE A TABLE STRUCTURE

    제품 : SQL*PLUS

    TIPS(18) : Creating Scripts to Recreate a Table Structure
    =========================================================
    The script creates scripts that can be used to recreate a table structure.
    For example, this script can be used when a table has become fragmented or to
    get a defintion that can be run on another database.
    CREATES SCRIPT TO RECREATE A TABLE-STRUCTURE
    INCL. STORAGE, CONSTRAINTS, TRIGGERS ETC.
    This script creates scripts to recreate a table structure.
    Use the script to reorganise a table that has become fragmented,
    to get a definition that can be run on another database/schema or
    as a basis for altering the table structure (eg. drop a column!).
    IMPORTANT: Running the script is safe as it only creates two new scripts and
    does not do anything to your database! To get anything done you have to run the
    scripts created.
    The created scripts does the following:
    1. save the content of the table
    2. drop any foreign key constraints referencing the table
    3. drop the table
    4. creates the table with an Initial storage parameter that
    will accomodate the entire content of the table. The Next
    parameter is 25% of the initial.
    The storage parameters are picked from the following list:
    64K, 128K, 256K, 512K, multiples of 1M.
    5. create table and column comments
    6. fill the table with the original content
    7. create all the indexes incl storage parameters as above.
    8. add primary, unique key and check constraints.
    9. add foreign key constraints for the table and for referencing
    tables.
    10.Create the table's triggers.
    11.Compile any depending objects (cascading).
    12.Grant table and column privileges.
    13.Create synonyms.
    This script must be run as the owner of the table.
    If your table contains a LONG-column, use the COPY
    command in SQL*Plus to store/restore the data.
    USAGE
    from SQL*Plus:
    start reorgtb
    This will create the scripts REORGS1.SQL and REORGS2.SQL
    REORGS1.SQL contains code to save the current content of the table.
    REORGS2.SQL contains code to rebuild the table structure.

  • Using form from a table

    I want to use a form from a table because it will create all my ddl.
    However the table I want to use I have to get the description from other tables using a foreign
    key. Can this be done.
    Currently I am trying to do this with a report but I have to make my updates by looping
    through apex_application.
    Howard

    Howard:
    You could build a view that includes the columns that you need from the related tables. You can then create a Report/Form based on this view. However, you will have to make sure that the form includes only those columns from the table that you want to update/insert/delete .

  • I've created a PDF form using Adobe acrobat. I created the forms from a PDF that I made using pages

    I've created a PDF form using Adobe acrobat. I created the forms from a PDF that I made using pages and word on Mac running Mountain lion. How do I allow the user of the form to insert JPEG files when filling out the form and how do I allow the user to add more fields or groups of fields as needed.

    The type of form yo're describing is possible if you create it in LiveCycle Designer. It may also be possible in Acrobat, but there are certain restrictions. The type of form is known as a dynamic XFA form. LiveCycle Designer is not available on the Mac, so you'd have to install the software on a Windows machine and learn how to create this type of form. The LiveCycle Designer forum here is a good resource for getting more help.
    Reader 11 now supports creating new pages using templates with a form that you create in Acrobat (Acroform). This requires some JavaScript programming. It also adds support for using a button to display a page from a PDF, which can be an image or anything else a PDF can be. So the user would click a button, be prompted to import a page from an existing PDF, and the button (or a different button) displays it as its icon. This would require the user to convert the image to PDF first, which is relatively easy these days (e.g., using Preview on the Mac, or Word on Mac/Windows). This too involves a bit of JavaScript programming, but it's very simple and straightforward.

  • CREATING A FORM UTILIZING MULTIPLE TABLES

    I'd like to know if it's feasable to create a form using multiple tables and if so, how?
    Thanx

    sgtmaj,
    It's feasible. You'll have to create the form manually. This part of the documentation describes how that's done.

  • Create a Form from Scratch: Possible or Not

    So, I have Acrobat X.
    I want to create a form from scratch. I have Word doc, but it wasn't created to look like a form, and I didn't like the way it imported.
    So, can I create a form from scratch. Or Not?
    If you try to start from scratch, it suggests a template on formscentral - and after signing up for free and spending an hour making the form, I find that I can not save or save as PDF the form that I created without forking over my credit card information - for a free trial that bills in a few weeks. (As much as I like the form data collection tools available, I cannot have my data collected by Adobe.)
    I can open an empty MS Word doc to start from - as my import choice - but can you make it any harder to mave the text around or enter new text? I never did figure out how to edit text. Is the answer going to be to edit my text in Word or in the plain PDF tool?
    I just found the form creation to be completely counter intuitive.

    Acrobat is not a Word processor, really. "Adding a carriage return" makes sense in a word processor, where the layout is still fluid. In a PDF the layout is finished, everything is a graphic. So, absolutely, it's designed to work with pre-made forms. To me, that's a strenghth - you can use the tools you already know to make the form background, then you add the fields in Acrobat. With work, you can preserve the fields over remaking the PDF, then just adjust the field positions.

  • Creating a simple 3 column table structure

    Good afternoon.
    I have been trying to create a simple 3 column table structure. A task which should typically take no longer than 15 minutes to design and populate has taken over two hours! (The final structure is acceptable but not ideal).
    Creating the design whilst applying the style Default Table Style - Light,  the content of each column and row are all equally aligned.
    However, when applying either of these styles; Table Style 1 - Clear or
    Table Style 2 - Light Banded,  (light banded is my preference) the alignment of each column and row 'fall apart'. I.e. the content within the left column displays half way down the page, the content within the middle column  at the top
    and the content within the right column at the bottom of the page???
    Adding and removing carriage returns help to a degree but is not ultimately agreeable to achieving an equally structured table design.
    I am rather new to SharePoint design and after exhausting all efforts and considerable time, I need to request assistance please.
    Thank you.
    David

    Thank you so much!
    Such a simple yet effective solution. :)
    The table structure created in Word retains it's integrity when pasted into a SharePoint page.
    Is there anyway I can also retain the background colour of individual table columns? Specifying such colours in Word; this feature is lost when the table is pasted into a SharePoint page.

  • Problem creating a form on a table from another custom schema

    Hi,
    I have a table in a custom schema that i have granted SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT and DELETE to our apex schema. I have created a synonym for this table under the apex schema but I can't build a form for it. If i try adding the form when creating the application, it gives me an error about not having a primary key on the table, which i do. If i create the application with a blank page and then try to add the form, it gives me an error that the table must contain at least one column, which it contains 12. If i view the table in the SQL Workshop, it gives an accurate count of rows in the table but doesn't provide any information about the table and doesn't display the data.
    If I login to TOAD under our apex schema and view the synonym object, i can see all of the information about the table - the columns, the primary key, etc. But I can't see it inside the Application Express app.
    Can anyone tell me why this is and what i can do to build a form on this shared table?
    Thanks,
    Troy

    Troy,
    I suggest you get rid of the synonym and then don't use the Create Application wizard for this purpose. Instead, create the application, then use a create page or create form wizard. It should first ask you for the name of the schema that contains the table. If you get that far, you should be on your way.

  • Dynamic forms from 2 tables

    Hi, (Sorry for the long post)
    DB Table one contains 4 fields:
    EventName
    Venue
    Price
    Date
    Form one is used by the owner to enter the data for an event into the DB Table One - there are several different events.
    DB Table two contains 7 fields (4 of the fields to retrieve data from table one)
    Name
    contact
    email
    Event Name
    Venue
    Price
    Date
    Form two is for a person registering for one of the events entered into DB table one.
    I set up a recordset called rsListEvents and then used the "Insert Record Form Wizard" to create form two with the following fields:
    EventName
    Venue
    Price
    eDate
    which I set to defaults
    {rsListEvents.EventName}
    {rsListEvents.Venue}
    {rsListEvents.Price}
    {rsListEvents.eDate}
    I have a page listing the events and when register for this event is clicked I was hoping the data from table one would be entered into form two and the user then fills in the rest manually where all the data is entered into DB table two.
    Unfortunately even though the URL indicates that the correct information from table one should be entered into form two .php?id_event=2
    The data from DB table one row id_event=1 is always displayed no matter what the record number is.
    Can anyone tell me where I have gone wrong
    Thanks
    laurence

    I am simplyfing this so I can get help on a basic level ( Mr basic)
    Why does this not work?
    I set up a Dynamic List using DB Table 1 and set the detailed page.
    I set up a record set on the detailed page using the same table.
    SELECT *
    FROM addEvents
    When I test I get the results from ID 1 no matter which one I choose. But when I test the RS I get both dummy entries 1 and 2
    So I am missing something that needs to be appended to the URL.

  • How to Create file link from dynamic table.

    Howdy -
    I have MySQL database over PHP containing a simple table that lists a group of documents, including their file system address (contained within the site).
    I've successfully created a recordset showing this table, and attached that to a dynamic table on a .php page.  The display is correct, except I can't get the column contents to link to the document.  The column just shows the text (title) of the document.
    I've consulted article tn_15364 (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/153/tn_15364.html), but that doesn't seem to work...
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.  I'm sure this is pretty simple, but I'm coming up snake eyes.
    Charles Andrews

    To clarify:
    My site has a folder where uploaded files (.doc, .xls, .pdf, etc.) are stored after having been uploaded by a user.  During this upload process, the location of these files is stored, along with other identifying data, in a simple database table.
    I have a dynamic table created in Dreamweaver that pulls from this database, listing the document name, etc. I would like the document name shown in a column to automatically link to the actual file so a user could just click on it and open the file.
    I hope I'm not making sound more complicated than it is -
    Thanks,
    CWA

  • How to create a form based on table using dynamic page?

    Hi,
    I need to create a form using dynamic page. How do you pass values from the html form to a oracle procedure that will get executed on submission of the form ? I could not find any documents which shows how to do that. Can anyone please help me out with an example ?
    thanks,
    Mainak

    Hi,
    Something seems to get added to the form action because of "http". Hence I am removing it.
    You need to write a procedure with the values in the as parameters. Say for example you want to insert a record into dept
    table then
    Dynamic page code
    <html>
    <body>
    <form action="portalschema.insert_dept">
    <input type="text" name="p_deptno">
    <input type="text" name="p_dname">
    <input type="submit" name="p_action" value="save">
    </form>
    </body>
    </html>
    Procedure code.
    create or replace procedure insert_dept
    (p_deptno in number,
    p_dname in varchar2,
    p_action in varchar2)
    is begin
    if p_action = 'save' then
    insert into scott.dept(deptno,dname) values(p_deptno,p_dname);
    commit;
    end if;
    end;
    grant execute on insert_dept to public;
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Sharmila
