Create Pool/cluster
Hi,
Can we create Pool/cluster? If yes who can I create?
HI,
Procedure
In the initial screen of the ABAP Dictionary, choose Utilities Further Dictionary Objects.
A dialog box appears.
Select the object type Table pool/cluster and enter the object name. Choose .
A dialog box appears in which you must specify if it is a table pool or a table cluster.
Select the required object type and choose .
The maintenance screen for table pools/clusters appears.
The necessary entries will have been made automatically for the fields for table pools since a table pool has a fixed structure. You should not change these standard settings if you can avoid it.
The structure of a table cluster is also mostly fixed. Certain fields are therefore proposed when the table cluster is created. You can adjust this proposal to your requirements, for example by inserting further key fields. However, make sure you conform to the structure necessary for a table cluster.
Enter an explanatory text in the field Short text.
If necessary, select the activation type of the table pool/cluster with Utilities Activation type.
Create documentation about the table pool/cluster with Goto Documentation.
This documentation should describe what the table pool/cluster is used for. The documentation is also output when the table pool/cluster is printed.
Go to the maintenance screen for the technical settings by choosing Goto ® Technical settings.
In contrast to the table maintenance screen, you can only define the size category here. All other attributes of the technical settings are preset.
Activate the table pool/cluster with .

Removing cluster node what happens to the created pools from thatnode
Hi all,
Reading through the documentation I stumble on:
10.2 Considerations for Working with Shared NSS Pools and Volumes in
the Cluster
To create or modify volumes, home directories, Distributed File
Services junctions, or any other elements that are managed using
eDirectory objects, you must cluster migrate the pool resource back to
the node where it was created before you perform those management tasks.
What does this mean when I removed the node from the cluster? Can I no
longer manage the resource??
regards
KBI have researched the issue with testing and have an update for you.
There were at least three bugs filed in the past where this problem was reported:
- Bug 77248 - Split/Move / NW65SP3 FCS / NCS - Vol Split only works when the target volume is on the original serv
- Bug 413213 - after migrated NSS pool, getting error when creating volume on that pool
- Bug 444644 - OES2 SP1 BUILD GMC3: Not able to create the user home directory on the cluster enabled volume
What I have learned from working with testing is that the problem occurs only if the server, pool, volume, and cluster objects are in different contexts. The recommended configuration is that they be in the same context, which is why most admins never see the problem. If the objects are in different contexts, eDirectory might not be able to find the information needed to perform the operation and you get an eDirectory error. Whether or not you might run in to this issue depends on how you have set up a cluster and whether you attempt to modify or perform management actions on the pool or volume later that involve an eDirectory object in a different context.
In light of this new information, I am updating the Novell Cluster Services Administration Guide with the following statement. This guide will be re-published the week of August 2, 2010.
10.2 Considerations for Working with Shared NSS Pools and Volumes in the Cluster
http://www.novell.com/documentation/...a/bffygy4.html
The Server, Pool, Volume, Cluster Resource, and Cluster objects should all be all in the same context.
If the objects are in different contexts, you might receive an eDirectory error when you attempt to modify the pool, create or modify the volumes, home directories, Distributed File Services junctions, or any other elements that are managed using eDirectory objects. To resolve the problem, you must cluster migrate the pool cluster resource back to the node where the pool was created in order to perform those management tasks. -
Could not create pool connection
After running the server, when I am continously firing queries on the server. The server is giving this error for some of the queries. But it is working for other cases. Any idea why this error is coming?

Issues creating VSA cluster "Unknown value" error
Hi all,
I'm in the process of evaluating vSphere with VSA and running into an issue during creation of the VSA cluster. On the final step of creating the VSA cluster, I get an error message "Cannot create VSA cluster: Unknown value."
I'm setting up a two node cluster using a couple of HP ML310e Gen8's, using local storage and some extra networking via a quad-port NIC. Memory, CPU clock speed, and number of NICs is compliant with VSA requirements.
I've already double checked things like default gateway on the Management Network, naming of the various port groups to comply with what vSphere/VSA expects, specific NIC teaming requirements, and increased maximum heap size to 256 & set evc.config.baseline=highest in dev.properties as I've got a couple of VMs running on the two ESX servers (just Domain Controller and vCenter VMs).
Per the screenshots below, I've setup vSwitch0 and vSwitch1 as per VMware recommendations.
On vSwitch0:
Management Network and VSA-Front End portgroups are using native VLAN (192.168.1.0/24).
VM Network is using VLAN 110 (192.168.110.0/24).
vSwitch1 is fairly self-explanatory.
Only unique thing is that I've created 'vCenter VM VLAN' on vSwitch0 as a Virtual Machine portgroup so that I could assign this to the vCenter VM NIC as I don't have routing/ACLs in place between VM Network (VLAN 110) and Management Network (native VLAN).
Also, on ESX node # 2 I've got an issue with the physical NIC's associated with vmnic1 and vmnic3 (they seems to hang my Cisco switch each time I plug them in) so I've used the physical NIC's associated with vmnic4 and vmnic5 instead.
I've already searched the various VSA related threads but to no avail.
Hoping someone may be able to shed some light on this one.

How Can I create a cluster of two instances running on the same server?
Hello,
I can't find how to create a cluster or even a failover rule for my two instances running on the same server ODSEE 11gR1.
Could you please help?
Thanks,Hello,
Clustering (intended as Sun Cluster, Veritas Cluster, etc... ) IS NOT SUPPORTED since 7.0:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E20295_01/pdf/821-1216.pdf [page 20]
and, based on my own experience, is the WORST way of achieving high availability of an LDAP Directory Service and an almost GRANTED way to get replication issues in your topology (lock, split, re-init, etc...).
Please use instead the 'application-level' clustering that you get out of the box with the Multi-Master Replication.

How can I create a cluster on the fly?
I'm inserting rows in a database table as part of a logging effort for our program. The table in question has a lot of columns, many of which can be null at any particular time. As such, I'd like to decide at run time (as situations warrant) which columns get a value when I add the new row. The columns are of mixed data types... some strings, some floats, some ints, etc.
For example...
On one pass, I'd like to populate columns "temp", "volume", and "weight".
On another pass, I may want to populate columns "temp", "color", and "notes".
I gen the array of column names. That part's easy
How (in the world) do I create the cluster that feeds the DATA input of the "DB Tools Insert Data" VI?
Sometimes I may need an int, a float, and a boolean.
Other times I may need two ints and a string.
Thanks!
Solved!
Go to Solution.Given this example you could have a table which contains a the timestamp and a record ID. Most databases can assign the key automatically and guarantee it to be unique. You may also store the machine name or other identifying information specific to this entry. However, all columns in this table would be populated in every record. You can then have another table which contains the specific data for that record. This table would have a column which contains the ID from your other table. You can have multiple entries in this table for that specific ID. This table would contain the ID from the other table, a column indicating what the specifc data is (voltage, temperature, pressure, etc.) and then the data itself. If you have different data types you can have a table for each specific data type (string, double, image, etc.). If you have separate tables for the different data types you would need a key/ID for each data value record. The data tables would simply be the ID for the data attribute and the value itself.
So, table one may consist of the following columns: Table1-Key, Timestamp, Test ID
The attributes table would have the following columns: Table1-Key, Record Type, Data-Key
Your Data Tables would have the following columns: Data-Key, Value (You could have multiple Data Tables for each data type.
To get all the data for a specific time you join the results of the queries from the tables for a specific Table1-Key and the corrsponding Data-Keys from the data tables.
If your table currently has dozens of columns but you are only storing a few at a time your are wasting a ton of space for all the empty columns. Some databases are better than others at reducing this waste but link table help you to store only the specific data for a given record and not fill the database with lots of empty records.

Could not create pool connection with MySql
When starting weblogic server I obtain the following error message when the conection
pool for a MySql database should be established. What's the mistake I am doing? #The
examples in the weblogic.properties put a "server=DEMO to the props. What is this
server related to the MySql RDBMS? Is it mandatory? After the error message produced
by Weblogic you'll find some information about the MySql setup (my.ini) I have made.

Create failover cluster to host Windows 2012 DC, Exchange 2013 and SQL as VMs
One of our clients has running Windows Essential 2012, SQL and exchange 2007 as VM on VMware for 4 years without major issue. However, the physical server is getting old and have some hardware issues recently. They have budgets to buy two Dell servers, EqualLogic
SAN, Windows server 2012 Datacenter and Exchange 2013. Is it possible for them to create failover cluster to host Windows 2012 DC, Exchange 2013 and SQL as VMs?

Creating windows cluster after Oracle single instance installation
Hi,
I have installed and created Oracle 11g R1 single instance server. The database also created on the server. Microsoft windows 2003 enterprise was not cluster during the said installation.
Now, the requirement has changed and as per new architecture, we want to create microsoft cluster having 2 nodes in it.
We want to move the current database instance data files on node 1 of the new cluster.
My Q's is, what will be effect of the current architecture. Also, how we can do it?
THanks in advance.Does any body like to share their experience ?

WDRuntimeException: Failed to create J2EE cluster node in SLD
Hello,
I am getting the below error, but to my knowledge I have everything set up properly. Let me briefly outline the logistics (I am running everything LOCALLY (will move to remote later)):
WAS 6.4 <b>SP12</b>
Set up JCo and tests fine
Set up Visual Administrator / SLD Data Supplier / HTTP and CIM configured and seem to test fine
Created SLD and it tests OK
Created Technical Landscape
I have noticed that in SP12, in the SLD config I actually have a NEW category called "<b>System Landscape</b>" above my "Technical Landscape" link. I have not seen this option in previous versions SP9 or SP11. Is it mandatory to configure this?
Also, I created a model for Adaptive RFC and found the function I needed successfully.
Anyway, here is the error when trying to deploy...
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Error while obtaining JCO connection.
at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.datatypes.core.DataTypeBroker$1.fillSldConnection(DataTypeBroker.java:90)
Caused by: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.sal.sl.api.WDSystemLandscapeException: Error while obtaining JCO connection.
Caused by: com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to create J2EE cluster node in SLD for 'J2E.SystemHome.bc347792': com.sap.lcr.api.cimclient.LcrException: CIM_ERR_NOT_FOUND: No such instance: SAP_J2EEEngineCluster.CreationClassName="SAP_J2EEEngineCluster",Name="J2E.SystemHome.bc347792"
Any help will be appreciated!I figured it out for those that may have a similar problem.
Although I had created and tested my JCo's properly and they were working fine, somehow, and I still don't know why, they went RED in the JCo Maintainence screen.
I had to "create" again and it works fine now. -
PreClusterCreationValidationFailure when trying to create a cluster through the Azure Powershell
I'm currently working on with Windows Azure in order to set up a cluster up and running, following the steps from
here. But when i tried to execute the command i got this error:
New-AzureHDInsightCluster : Unable to complete the cluster create operation left behind state: 'Error'. Message: 'PreClusterCreationValidationFailure'.
I had a look into the
this, but i was kinda confused with it. What does the input values mean in it? Is it the
ClusterSizeInNodes? and also could this error occur due to the same cluster name being already exist?
Any help would be appreciated.
Happy Coding!Hi,
Yes, you went through the correct link. 'PreClusterCreationValidationFailure' means there are errors in the user input values that is supplied while cluster creation. Input values can be:
1. Cluster name (if the name is duplicate)
2. Password (does not match the required password policy)
3. Storage account location (the cluster region and the storage account region needs to be the same)
ClusterSizeInNodes should not be a problem unless you are providing a very huge number. You can try creating the cluster from the portal with the exact same details you are providing in your script. The portal will validate and highlight most of such validation
errors.
Regards.

Any ideas on how this error can be avoided?

Thanks,
ArunHi. That means the JDBC driver you specified threw a NullPointerException
when we tried to make a connection with it...
Can you show the XML file for the DataSource? It's in the domain's
config/jdbc directory.
