Error on DS creation (ResourceException: Could not create pool connection)
Hi,
When trying to create a DS on a WLS 10.3 on Windows Vista to connect to an Oracle 10.2.0.4 RAC database, I am getting the exception below. I use the OCI driver. Everything's fine when I use the thin driver though.

Hi,
I am also using OCI driver, as some of the functions for XMLType are not supported by thin driver.
I am getting similar error, as mentioned in the thread as

I have already tested with a standalone program and it works, but error is thrown with weblogic server.
My connection string is jdbc:oracle:oci:@//localhost:1521/orcl11
Any ideas on how this error can be avoided?
Thanks

You are running the Examples application shipped with WLS, which I guest
the
correct DB to connect with is Cloudscape yet to Oracle, unless you make
changes to the original ConnectionPool in the examples. Anyhow, please
show

weblogic.common.ResourceException: Could not create pool connection. The DBMS driver exception was: null
Connection is successful using test configuration.
Weblogic Version am using is 10.3.
Please help.
Thanks,
ArunHi. That means the JDBC driver you specified threw a NullPointerException
when we tried to make a connection with it...
Can you show the XML file for the DataSource? It's in the domain's
config/jdbc directory. -

Hi I cant install the Management Console.
I keep getting
Error 25109 : The installation program could not create the configuration data store. Please see the installation log for more info.
Has someone come across this problem before?
I am using
MS Server 2008 Std x86
SQL Server 2005 SP2 Std x86
MDOP 2008 R2
APP-V 4.5
Please can someone help.
ThanksI'm running into the same problem myself, I have an almost identical setup.
Trying to do a clean install of App-V Management Server 4.5 from the MDOP 2008 R2 CD.
Server OS: Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP1 (Has WDS and IIS installed (IIS 6 Management Compatibility too), as well as .Net 3.5 SP1 Framework)
Database: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Enterprise (Version 9.00.3068.00) (Note: SQL server is running on a different server than the server App-V is being installed on.)
Installer gets to the point where it starts creating the database than dies, reporting a 25109 error.
Checked out the logfile the installer created, here's a snip of the last few lines before is starts rolling back the install:

Top Link error 17002 The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
I have installed an application developped in an another environnement.
I have created the database schema in my own database.
I have created a database connection to this schema.
I have reconciled the schema using this connection (so the database and the connection are available and correct from jdeveloper)
I have updated the Mapping to use the new connection and new generated the mapping status report without any errors
and i still have this error ! The Network Adapter could not establish the connection when i access any jsp document containing data from the database.
I check and recheck everything and all is correct ... sure something is wrong somewhere ... where is the question ...Sorry I think you didn't read the thread or you read it too fast !
I'm not a beginner and I know what the problem is but all the settings are correct in jdev and the database and the listener are running ... i'm able to browse the tables, seeing data reconciling objects with the database connection referenced in the top link descriptor
It seem that top link is using something else and i don't understand from where it took the connection description. -

Hi,
I keep receiving the error below in the SQL Server Agent Error Log;
[165] ODBC Error: 0, Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server [2]. [SQLSTATE 08001]
It is occurring approximately 20 times an hour and i cannot link it to any job failures. All jobs on the same SQL instance are working.
The server is a clustered server and there are no errors occuring in the SQL Server error log at the same time. I have attempted to trace using profiler looking for errors and warnings but anything that does occur doesn't seem to correspond to the reported
times of the errors within the sql agent error log.
Please could someone point me where to look next?
Many thanks. Please may I add that this is on a SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise edition patched to 10.50.1600.
Nah, that server is not patched at all, because 10.50.1600 is the RTM version. Find Service Pack 2 and install at the next maintenance window, after having performed tests according to your local policy.
It is not going to resolve your particular problem though.
It seems like you have a job that attempts to a connect to s server that is down or non-existing. The job may be configured to return success also on failures. I would check if there are jobs that target other servers.

Could not create JCOClient Connection
I am seeing the issues that are common, as pointed out in these threads:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/advancedsearch?cat=sdn_all&query=%22couldnotcreate+JCOClientConnection%22&adv=false&sortby=sdn_updated_on&sortmode=descending
But I have increased the pool to 100 and connectino max to 200 in my 2 JCos (transactional and metadata). The transactional RFC uses ticket, and we have the tickets configured on the back end. The metadata uses a hard coded user with full rights.
When I run the web dynpro, I get a series of the JCO Errors:
Could not create JCOClientConnection for logical System: 'SAPERP_MODELDATA' - Model: 'class com.sap.bb.va02_bb.model_gen_func.Gen_Func'
When I change the ticket user in the transactional RFC to my hard coded user, there are no problems. Yet, the ticket tests good on the back end in the JCO Maintenance screen, and I used my account in both tests, so my personal authorizations on the back end are valid. Could the ticket be expriring too soon? How can I check this? Can you connect to that DBMS using that driver, from a simple standlalone

Try downloading the latest version of the Business One framework for 8.8 or the latest version of B1iSN 8.8 which will load Tomcat 6 and well as Java 6 and see if that helps.

Error Message: ORA-12154: TNS: Could not resolve the connect identifier sp
Hi,
I did a clean install of Windows 7 and re-installed Oracle 10g. Had some problems connecting to database Home Page so I uninstalled and re-installed and everything seemed to work fine. I installed Navicat and received the above error message when it tried to connect to the Oracle server.
My settings are correct (TNS and XE) and the OracleXETNSListener and Oracle serviceXE are started in the services folder.
Any thoughts???? I'm dead in the water here and need Navicat to do a Lab for Monday...yikes!!!
Thanks Kindly
JaseyThe first thought is that you didn't invest much time in researching this error as it is probably the most written about exception in these forums and on google.
So there you go ... hit the search button.
My guess is that you did not read the documentation either and did not set the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID environment variables but that is just a wild guess based on nothing but the percentages. -
Does anyone know what this error means?I have already installed Analyzer 6.5 on Win NT, on locally installed Tomcat web server and the oracle 9i database is on a solaris box.I think the problem is it is not able to connect to the oracle repository but I don't know how to fix it. Thanks,Haroon
Joe,
It may happen during testOnReserve, too.

That means the Oracle URL you supplied to the pool is incorrect forconnecting to the
DBMS you want. If the same pool definition works sometimes and sometimesnot,
then it's an oracle problem with rapid connection requests. Make the poolmake all it's
connections at startup, by setting init=max, and this shouldn't happen.

Error when creating Pool Connection
"Hi,
I have reviewed a lot of postings for this type of error and nothing mentioned in replies have helped me to get over this issue.
I am trying to create a pool via the admin console in WL6.0sp1. Using Oracle Thin driver. The config information is as follows:
Name: MydbPool
url: jdbc:oracle:thin@pavilion:1521:star
driver classname: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
Properties: user=bentley; password=flyaway
Initial Capacity: 1
Max Capacity: 2
When I startup WL, I get the following error message:
<Nov 28, 2001 1:36:21 AM EST> <Error> <JDBC Connection Pool> <Cannot startup con
nection pool "MerlinJdbcPool" weblogic.common.ResourceException:
Could not create pool connection. The DBMS driver exception was:
java.sql.SQLException: Invalid Oracle URL specified: OracleDriver.connect
My PATH is defined as:
PATH=F:\oracle\ora81\lib;f:\oracle\ora81\jdbc\lib;f:\jdk1.3.1_01\bin;F:\oracle\o
ra81\bin;f:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.7\bin;D:\WINNT\system32;D:\WINNT;D:\WIN
NT\System32\Wbem;f:\Program Files\Symantec\pcAnywhere\;F:\PROGRA~1\SYMANTEC\PCAN
YW~1\;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND
And my CLASSPATH is defined as:
classpath=f:\bea2\wlserver6.0sp1\lib\weblogic.jar;f:\oracle\ora81\jdbc\lib\classes12.zip
And my startWeblogic.cmd file correctly appends %PATH% anactually, no, the thin driver reacts badly to being told a server. It tries to
become the type-2 driver and use the Oracle OCI stuff. If the customer can
make a standalone program connect to the DBMS with that driver and URL,
then maybe they need to alter the classpath of the server to have that
driver come before any weblogic stuff. We ship an older version of the
driver, and that may be being used because it's ahead in the classpath.

I'm guessing it's related to a shitty dollar store USB drive that I plugged in, but now I see two drives in gnome-disks. There are no drives plugged in, and these are /dev/sdd and /dev/sde. The nodes are in /dev. They survive reboots as well. Any i
