Create Script to Append a Filename as Part of an Action

I have an image, and I have a handy action that saves it, crops it, saves it again, crops it differently, and saves it one more time. Right now, I have two options for those saves--I can either save each crop in a separate folder and then batch rename, or I have the action pause as it saves so I can customize the filename. What I would like to do is create a script (or, if there's an easier way), to append that filename so it will all just save in the same folder without my having to do it manually.
Essentially I start with the filename: "TEST"
for the first part, it I save as "TEST"
for the second save, I want it to save as "TEST_P1"
for the third save, I want it to save as "TEST_P2"
I'm brand new to scripting, and my programming background is with Java and way in my past, so it all feels a bit unfamiliar. If anyone could help me with this, I'd really appreciate it!

An other option is to use the Image Processor Pro script. You would  create several actions to do the different crops you want make to the original size document not a crop of crop of a crop down to the final crop.  Have no saves at all in these actions. Then just use meny File>Automate>Image Processor Pro.  Set up its dialog to save the file names you want to where you want them saved create.  You could also record that into an action. The images processor pro script is a Photoshop Plug-in.  It will record the setting you used in its dialog into the action step.    You can also save the dialog setup for future use in the IPP dialog before you run the process you set up.
You can save as many files as you need with IPP  and run your simple cropping actions for each crop size. IPP simply opens you file passes a copy to each of your actions and after the action runs save the  modified copy doctment with the file name you set up. You can set up as many tabs as you need you can even  have you crops re-sized  using IPP optional re-size.   Though the script is easy to use its 10K+ lines of Photoshop scripting....

  • Automator: Create folder from suffix of filename and put file names with same suffix into folder

I've been using a script to use automator to create a folder from the filename and put that file into it the folder just created.
I have a bunch of files that have similar names to them, but I don't want every file to be put into its own folder, instead I want all files with the same suffix (001) to go into the same folder.  I would also like the folder name to just be named the same as the suffix (001) instead of the full file name.
For example all of these files names that end with the same integer (001) should be dumped into the same folder named "001":
    Boston_ProRes422_1920x1080_24p_Audio_001
    Boston_ProRes422_3840x2160_24p_Audio_001

    Boston_ProRes422_1920x1080_24p_Audio_005
    Boston_ProRes422_1920x1080_24p_Audio_010
Any help at all would be incredible!!
    Thanks!
Here's the script I'm using right now:
on run {input, parameters} -- create folders from file names and move
set output to {} -- this will be a list of the moved files
repeat with anItem in the input -- step through each item in the input
set {theContainer, theName, theExtension} to (getTheNames from anItem)
      try
set destination to (makeNewFolder for theName at theContainer)
      tell application "Finder"
      move anItem to destination
set the end of the output to the result as alias -- success
      end tell

      log errorMessage

Thanks Neil for the response! That script didn't work, but I did get it to work with my old script by changing "set TheName to" numbers different.  Here's my final script which creates folders named "001", "002", and so forth and dumps in the files that end in that same suffix in the matching folder.

  • I need a script that copies the filename into the file

I need a script that copies the filename into 4th column of each line in the text doc file.
I have over 2000 different file names each containing 6 columns and ~50-100 rows.
I can do this manually using this script:
    awk '{print $1"\t"$2"t\"$3"\t <name> \t"$6}'
But I would like an automation command or script. Is there any command that I can use instead of <name> that will copy the filename into the column?
    Thanks
    Monica

Oops, I forgot the redirect to a file. It's not a good idea to edit files in place. A script could fail and you're left with at least one file ruined. It's better to create new files then delete the old files.
    for file in *; do
        while read col1 col2 col3 col4 col5 col6; do
            printf "%s\t%s\t%s\t%s\t%s\n" $col1 $col2 $col3 $file $col6
        done < $file > n$file
    done
You could narrow the files listed such as
    for file in *.tsv
and redirect the new files to another directory. Such as
    done < $file > /absolute/path/to/directory/$file

  • Creating an O365 SharePoint Online 2013 Web Part control (that is NOT on another domain or inside an IFrame)

We created SharePoint App that offers a Web Part we can add to SharePoint 2013 pages.  The problem is that web part installs as an iframe pointing to the apps domain.
Two challenges in trying to impact the Page's DOM and elements and also accessing the pages URL query string parameters. Basically cross domain issues.
Is there any way to deploy a webpart that installs in-line as a component on the page like a Script Editor Web Part?
If that must be done as a sandbox solution, how can users on 100+ sites easily download and install this web part like web parts from the App catalog and Store?
BTW, How is it that a Script Editor Web Part installs in-line on the page without an iframe?  Possible to reproduce this in our own App?

SharePoint 2013 apps are designed to be secure and must run outside of the SharePoint domain. They typically are HTML, JS and CSS and any custom compiled code is run on another web server and access via web services.
The Script Editor Web Part is a code based (compiled) "traditional" web part that runs in the SharePoint process. If you are working on premise (i.e. not Office 365), and your SharePoint admins will permit custom code to deployed to their servers,
then you can still create SharePoint 2010 style web parts. These can be deployed as "full trust" web parts or sandbox web parts. Full trust web parts are installed on the web servers while sandbox web parts need to be uploaded to a gallery
in each site collection (not each site). If your 100+ sites are in a single site collection, then only one upload is needed. If you have 100+ site collections then you could use PowerShell to deploy the sandbox solution to all of them.

  • Issue with Generate Create Script in new ODT 11.1.0.5.10 beta

So I'm trying to determine if there's an issue with the Generate Create Script option in the new ODT 11.1.0.5.10 beta (when you right click on a table in Server Explorer).
The SQL create script that it generates lacks the slash between lines. For example I generated the create script for my User table and this is what was generated:
    CREATE TABLE "DEV"."SYSTEM_USER_TB" ("RID" NUMBER(10,0),"USER_NAME" VARCHAR2(256 CHAR),"APPLICATION_RID" NUMBER(10,0),"FIRST_NAME" VARCHAR2(256 CHAR),"LAST_NAME" VARCHAR2(256 CHAR),"PW" VARCHAR2(128 CHAR),"PW_FORMAT" NUMBER,"PW_SALT" VARCHAR2(128 CHAR),"LAST_ACTIVITY_DT" DATE,"EXPIRATION_DT" DATE,"EMAIL" VARCHAR2(256 CHAR),"PW_QUESTION" VARCHAR2(256 CHAR),"PW_ANSWER" VARCHAR2(256 CHAR),"APPROVED_FLG" NUMBER(1,0),"LOCKED_OUT_FLG" NUMBER(1,0),"LAST_LOGIN_DT" DATE,"LAST_PW_CHANGED_DT" DATE,"LAST_LOCKOUT_DT" DATE,"FAILED_PW_ATTEMPT_CNT" NUMBER(6,0),"FAILED_PW_ATTEMPT_WINSTART" DATE,"FAILED_PW_ANSW_ATTEMPT_CNT" NUMBER(8,0),"FAILED_PW_ANSW_ATTEMPT_WINSTRT" DATE,"CREATED_BY_RID" NUMBER(10,0),"CREATED_DT" DATE,"MODIFIED_BY_RID" NUMBER(10,0),"MODIFIED_DT" DATE) TABLESPACE "USERS" PCTFREE 10 INITRANS 1 MAXTRANS 255 STORAGE ( INITIAL 131072 MAXEXTENTS 2147483645 MINEXTENTS 1 )
CREATE UNIQUE INDEX "DEV"."XPKSTAFF" ON "DEV"."SYSTEM_USER_TB" ("RID" ) TABLESPACE "USERS"
ALTER TABLE "DEV"."SYSTEM_USER_TB" ADD ( CONSTRAINT "SYS_C0033033" PRIMARY KEY ("RID") USING INDEX "DEV"."XPKSTAFF" ENABLE VALIDATE )
ALTER TABLE "DEV"."SYSTEM_USER_TB" ADD ( CONSTRAINT "SYS_C0033032" CHECK ("RID" IS NOT NULL) ENABLE VALIDATE )
    CREATE TRIGGER "DEV"."SYSTEM_USER_TRG1"
    BEFORE
    INSERT
    ON "DEV"."SYSTEM_USER_TB"
    FOR EACH ROW
    begin
         select SYSTEM_USER_SEQ.nextval into :new.RID from dual;
    end;
In my new Oracle Database Project, if I right click on the script and select "Run" or "Run On", the script fails saying:
    Connected.
CREATE UNIQUE INDEX "DEV"."XPKSTAFF" ON "DEV"."SYSTEM_USER_TB" ("RID" ) TABLESPACE "USERS"
    ERROR at line 2:
    ORA-00922: missing or invalid option
If I then add, a slash between lines, the script runs successfully and creates the table/trigger and whatever else just fine. For example, I changed the above generated code to look as follows:
    CREATE TABLE "DEV"."SYSTEM_USER_TB" ("RID" NUMBER(10,0),"USER_NAME" VARCHAR2(256 CHAR),"APPLICATION_RID" NUMBER(10,0),"FIRST_NAME" VARCHAR2(256 CHAR),"LAST_NAME" VARCHAR2(256 CHAR),"PW" VARCHAR2(128 CHAR),"PW_FORMAT" NUMBER,"PW_SALT" VARCHAR2(128 CHAR),"LAST_ACTIVITY_DT" DATE,"EXPIRATION_DT" DATE,"EMAIL" VARCHAR2(256 CHAR),"PW_QUESTION" VARCHAR2(256 CHAR),"PW_ANSWER" VARCHAR2(256 CHAR),"APPROVED_FLG" NUMBER(1,0),"LOCKED_OUT_FLG" NUMBER(1,0),"LAST_LOGIN_DT" DATE,"LAST_PW_CHANGED_DT" DATE,"LAST_LOCKOUT_DT" DATE,"FAILED_PW_ATTEMPT_CNT" NUMBER(6,0),"FAILED_PW_ATTEMPT_WINSTART" DATE,"FAILED_PW_ANSW_ATTEMPT_CNT" NUMBER(8,0),"FAILED_PW_ANSW_ATTEMPT_WINSTRT" DATE,"CREATED_BY_RID" NUMBER(10,0),"CREATED_DT" DATE,"MODIFIED_BY_RID" NUMBER(10,0),"MODIFIED_DT" DATE) TABLESPACE "USERS" PCTFREE 10 INITRANS 1 MAXTRANS 255 STORAGE ( INITIAL 131072 MAXEXTENTS 2147483645 MINEXTENTS 1 )
CREATE UNIQUE INDEX "DEV"."XPKSTAFF" ON "DEV"."SYSTEM_USER_TB" ("RID" ) TABLESPACE "USERS"
ALTER TABLE "DEV"."SYSTEM_USER_TB" ADD ( CONSTRAINT "SYS_C0033033" PRIMARY KEY ("RID") USING INDEX "DEV"."XPKSTAFF" ENABLE VALIDATE )
ALTER TABLE "DEV"."SYSTEM_USER_TB" ADD ( CONSTRAINT "SYS_C0033032" CHECK ("RID" IS NOT NULL) ENABLE VALIDATE )
    CREATE TRIGGER "DEV"."SYSTEM_USER_TRG1"
    BEFORE
    INSERT
    ON "DEV"."SYSTEM_USER_TB"
    FOR EACH ROW
    begin
         select SYSTEM_USER_SEQ.nextval into :new.RID from dual;
    end;
So, does anyone know if this is a bug? Could I be missing an option to add in the slashes to the generated code? Is there an option to not require the slashes? Could there be another way to execute these scripts?
Seriously, I think I'm having deja vu from the last release of the Dev Tools: Generate Create Script creates scripts that won't run: ORA-00922: missing..
...except this time the documentation says I should be able to use the "Run" and "Run On" commands in the Oracle Database Project (see page 8): http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/dotnet/pdf/ODT11_whatsnew.pdf
    null

There are 2 issues in the generated script :
    1. Missing semicolons at the end of the create stmts
    2. Missing slashes
Both of these fixes will be available in the ODT 11.1 release.

TIPS(18) : Creating Scripts to Recreate a Table Structure
    =========================================================
The script creates scripts that can be used to recreate a table structure.
For example, this script can be used when a table has become fragmented or to
get a defintion that can be run on another database.
CREATES SCRIPT TO RECREATE A TABLE-STRUCTURE
    INCL. STORAGE, CONSTRAINTS, TRIGGERS ETC.
This script creates scripts to recreate a table structure.
Use the script to reorganise a table that has become fragmented,
to get a definition that can be run on another database/schema or
as a basis for altering the table structure (eg. drop a column!).
IMPORTANT: Running the script is safe as it only creates two new scripts and
does not do anything to your database! To get anything done you have to run the
    scripts created.
The created scripts does the following:
    1. save the content of the table
    2. drop any foreign key constraints referencing the table
    3. drop the table
    4. creates the table with an Initial storage parameter that
will accomodate the entire content of the table. The Next
parameter is 25% of the initial.
The storage parameters are picked from the following list:
    64K, 128K, 256K, 512K, multiples of 1M.
    5. create table and column comments
    6. fill the table with the original content
    7. create all the indexes incl storage parameters as above.
    8. add primary, unique key and check constraints.
    9. add foreign key constraints for the table and for referencing
    tables.
    10.Create the table's triggers.
    11.Compile any depending objects (cascading).
    12.Grant table and column privileges.
    13.Create synonyms.
This script must be run as the owner of the table.
If your table contains a LONG-column, use the COPY
command in SQL*Plus to store/restore the data.
    USAGE
    from SQL*Plus:
    start reorgtb
This will create the scripts REORGS1.SQL and REORGS2.SQL
REORGS1.SQL contains code to save the current content of the table.
REORGS2.SQL contains code to rebuild the table structure.
    undef tab;
    set echo off
    column a1 new_val stor
    column b1 new_val nxt
    select
    decode(sign(1024-sum(bytes)/1024),-1,to_char((round(sum(bytes)/(1024*1

  • How can I create scripts from DBA studio??

I just created about a bunch of tables, F&P keys, synonyms, etc using DBA studio. Now I'd like to extract that dictionary data to create scripts that I can run in the future to recreate the environment in production.
    How can I do this?
    THanks,
    Chris

For some reason in my Oracle DBA Studio ( Oralce 8.1.6) table right click menu has no "Show object DDL" option. I run DBA Studio standalone, not from Oracle Enterpr Manager. Can this be the reason ?
Also my database has 100+ tables.
I also tried the import with indexfile option. It is gives me all a lot of ALTERs as they where applied to tables which looks UGLY. I need "clean" CREATE TABLE DDL.
I's amaizing that Oracle has no simple way of doing this ???

  • How to create an ImageIcon from other ImageIcon's part?

I have an ImageIcon instance and want to create an other one from the specified part of the initial icon.
    How can this be done??
    Thanks. Boris.

If I were you, I would create a BufferedImage and paint the ImageIcon into it. You have the choice of either :
    - in the paint method itself, modify the clip bounds so as to make it only paint the desired region
    - or paint the image completely and then use BufferedImage's getSubimage method
Either way, you'll get a BufferedImage that you can use to create your target ImageIcon

  • How To Create the source data in the destination part of Shuttle in APEX?

I create a shuttle in a region, and I can specify the source list value in the left part of the shuttle, and how can I create the original data in the right part(destination field).
Now the destination part alwasy is null at first when open the page.

  • How to create script that run sudo-command, via automator?

    Hi
I'd want to create script to automate one command I need quite often. I just can't get this to work.
I'm not using english OS, but I think this is what I do. In automator I choose Utilities -> Run script
Here's the script I try to run:
    sudo "/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/boot.sh --restart"
I found some tip to do it like this:
do shell script "sudo /Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/boot.sh --restart password "pass" with administrator privileges
Where pass is my admin password.
    This does not work, either.
Could anybody help me on this?
    Thanks...
    Tomi Toivonen
    Message was edited by: Tomi

This is not working. What's wrong?
What's wrong is that the '--restart' is a parameter for boot.sh, and therefore needs to be included within the quotes.
Additionally, the shell uses spaces to divide parameters, so the spaces in the command will make it appear as multiple commands - '/Library/Application', 'Support/VMware' and 'Fusion/boot.sh'. You need to escape them using a backslash:
    <pre class=command>do shell script "/Library/Application\ Support/VMware\ Fusion/boot.sh --restart" password "pass" with administrator privileges</pre>
If it's outside of the quotes it would be interpreted as a parameter to 'do shell script' and it won't know what to do with that.
