Create several distribution channel for an existing customer

Hi,
to create a new customer, we use the BAPI "BAPI_CUSTOMER_CREATEFROMDATA1" with the specified distribution channel.
After creation of the customer I want to create another distribution channel to this customer without create a new customer number.
Is there any BAPI, which solve this issue?

hii,
From ECC it is manadatory that you maintain Common Distribution Channel (Reference distribution channel for conditions, Reference distrib.channel for cust.and material masters) and Common Division (Reference division for conditions, Reference division for customers). so you will have to create the customer similarly. Thumb rule it is standardized.
Customer created for one sales area i.e., 1000,10,01 cannot be used in another sales area 1000,11,01 unless the customer is extended. (which means you cannot use the customer for other sales area)

For a single material means u can go mm03 7 select the material number 7 select the sales views then press f4 the details u can see.
For any number of materials u can go to se11 & give table name MVKE then select the required parameters & execute.

Hi Everyone,
I have a program that sends information(analog output) to lab windows cvi in the form of a text file or user input.
The program runs on the computers that I have the field point explorer and lab windows cvi installed on. In order to run the program without always installing labwindows/cvi and field point; I wanted to create an executable file that could be load on another computer.
I used the create distribution kit part of labwindows/cvi to do this.After creating the distribution kit, I then installed it
to another computer.
My user interface appears on the screen, when the user clicks on the exe. file, but no data is sent to the field point module. I know that the data is being read from the user and textfile because in it appears in the uir.
The following are some details about the problem:
1. On another computer without labwindows/cvi and field point explorer not installed - no data is sent to field point module
I know this because a current is being read on the current meter connected to field point module.
My questions are the following:
1. What are the possible reasons for the data not being sent to the field point module?
2. Do I still need to create an iak. (Installing Field point Explorer) file stored on any new computer that I install my created distribution kit file too?

1) If you do not install FieldPoint Explorer, the FieldPoint Server is not installed so there is nothing on the target computer that knows how to talk to the FieldPoint system.
2) Yes, you need an IAK file on the target computer. Assuming the settings (i.e. com port#) are identical you can simply include the iak file as part of the distribution.
3) You also need to include as part of your installer the file "fplwmgr.dll". If this file is not installed, your program will not be able to access the FieldPoint Server. Alternatively, this file is installed automatically if FieldPoint Explorer detects LabWindows/CVI or Measurement Studio Development versions on the target computer or if you choose to do a custom FieldPoint Explorer installation and
choose to provide LabWindows/CVI support.

Can any one tell me, whether is this possible in R/3, If yes, How?

after saving the sales order system will not allow you to change the distribution channel but you can close the order at header level by giving the Reason i.e. monthly closure. After closing the sales order create the new sales order as per the requirement.

Referenced sales org. AA00 and distribution channel do not exist

Hiii Driends,
I have came across a problem while Assigning Sales area to Sales doc type.....
Steps i have followed:
1. Created and assigned all Enterprise Structure
2. Set up Sales area (AA00/A1/A0)
3. IMG-SD-Sales-Sales Doc -Header-Assign Sale Area to Sales Doc type-Combine Sales Organisation. This is done succesfully.
But while doing 'Combine Distribution Channel' when I enter Ref Dist Chnl as A1, Error is appearing as "Referenced sales org. AA00 and distribution channel do not exist"
Can u sugest me any solution???

If the referenced distribution channel is not assigned to the sales org of sales line which you are trying to refer....Message will be coming as you said...
Please check whether you are referencing a distribution channel which you have assigned to your sales organization or not...

Using new Distribution Channel for dealers.

Hi experts
Currently Domestic sales is operating only on one channel DD.
Proposal is to set DR channels for all Dealers sales and DD will be used only for Retail Sales .
DR Channel was previously configured but we were only using DD channel for both retailors & dealers sales.. all configuration is already done like sales area setup and pricing etc. for DR channel
so i would like to what are the pros and cons for using two Distribution channel and maintainence we require.

You need to extend all customers and materials for new distribution channel.
You also neeed to maintain prices for DD and DR channels separately.
ITs advantage is this that your reporting will be separately executed. You can check how much sales you have done in retail and how much you have done in Whole sale.
I dont know what kind of business your company is running. I suggest you to make a provision for 3rd distribution channel which is DC. B2B sales. corporate sales. May after some months or years your company feel need of it.
For extending customers and materials 2 uploads will do this. Ask you ABAPER to create uploads.
There must be separate distribution channels for corporate, retail, wholesale and Expots if your company is dealing with exports sale.

Possible to configure several communication channels for the same receiver?

is it possible to configure several communication channels for one (the same) receiver?
The problem is as follows: I would like to switch between the RFC-channel and the XI-channel, if the RFC-Adapter doesn't work for some reason.
The situation: Our XI3.0 posts messages to several receivers and the switch should be done by changing one table entry which is selected and analysed in an ABAP-Proxy and which could enrich the XML-message. By now, the only chance I see is to change the respective entries in the Integration Directory for each receiver separately.

but this is the only way I believe
(cause you cannot assign conditions to receiver agreements)
you could also create two messages (practically two flows)
but would it be more elegant?
BTW
in my opinion you should try restarting RFC channel
and not create two - just in case...
if RFC doesn't always work why don't you use another one only?
this would just simplify your scenario (maintanance of just a number of communication channels and not 2 x number of communication channels)

Problem of Creating Multiple Communication channels for multiple files

I have a very basic doubt but this struck me...
For a file-XI-file scenario,if multiple files are coming from same FTP server but with different names then we have to create multiple communication channels for all the files of different names..but is this a intelligent approach?Can we do something so that only one communication channel can receive multiple files of different names?plz explain in detail if possible ASAP.
I have another doubt as in File-XI-File scenario how the XI understands that a particular file is from this FTP server needs to be send to another particular FTP Server?is it only the name of the file which we give in sender comm channel & receiver comm chaneel which determines this????that means this name should always be same?plz explain in detail if anybody knows?

1)If there are multiple files with different names & different extensions in the sender FTP then we use-->
2)if there are multiple files with different names & different extensions in sender FTP & I want only say files of 2 extension types(say .xml & .txt)then we use-->

in one comm channel &
*.txt
in another comm channel rite??
Also I wanted to ask that only two kinda files we can pick up through sender comm channel rite?
.xml and .txt(File content Conversion).Can we pick files of other extensions also?(say .doc,.xls)If we use as u said

You can add bill to location as follows
Order Management Super User> Customer > Standard >Find your customer
Add a new address if necessary
And then in Business Purpose area, enter BILL TO as the usage.

Can any body help for how to create a credit memo for an existing sales order !

Hi,
It is actually possible to create credit memos from sales orders though it is not followed in most of the scenarios.
We have got a scenario in commodity trading that a sales order will be created with positive value. Once the swaps are settled by the portfolio mngt team, if we have to give some money to the payer, then a credit memo will be greated (as in their case all invoices will have only +ve value as net value) with reference to the sales order. In the copy control, the main field to be taken care of at itme level is the PRICING TYPE for which a value of F has to be maintained. This will convert the sign of the values and fix them. Now a credit memo will be created for teh saels order.
In this case, the document cateogyr of sales order will be C in VBAK, but it will be K in VBFA table which is the table for document flow.

Hi,
Initially client may say we need less organisational units but at the end they may need so many reports and then its difficult provide them same to client.Its better you can have extra distibution channel for stock transport order in company code level not in plant level, so that you can drill down report( as many as possible).

Condition cannot be created in distribution channel 01

Hi Experts,
I am encountering the error message as abovementioned by using VBN1 (create free goods SD).
I have tried V/N6 (determine free goods procedure in sales) to assign
1000 01 00 A 1 NA0001
1000 01 00 C 1 NA0001
however i already maintained V/N6, i still encounter the same error message. Is there any others setting?
Would appreciate if you could guide me to resolve the error.

Hi.
For manufacturing industries of consumer products what is best channel distribution choice in SAP, taking into account that the customers in SAP aren´t the consumers?
A.
10 Wholesalers
20 Distributors
30 Supermarkets
or
B
10 Wholesale
20 Retail
If the answer is A,.... Why SAP give us the option of extend a customer to the another distribution channel ?

As you would be aware the purpose of creating Distribution Channel is that through some channel you have to distribute the material to customer and we call this channel in many ways like, wholesale, retail, export etc.,
As long as the sales area (combination of sales organisation, distribution channel and division) is clear in SD side, all sales reports can be differentiated easily and from end user point of view, this will be much useful.
In some cases, you need to go in for a common distribution channel due to the fact that instead of having lot of distribution channels, you can simplify the configuration part by having a common channel.
The decision to go different distribution channel or common distribution channel needs to be analysed on case to case basis and of course with clients' concurrence.

SAP Distribution Channels for REPORTING

The Distribution Channels, how can one make sure that this is Blueprinted correctly, so that it doesnt have an affect on the reporting?
correct me if im worng, what affect does a SD Distribution CHannel have on SD or other reporting in finance? what issues may the business get if this isnt set up properly or accordinlgy?
the company has ONE COMPANY code and several or 2 plants.

Keep sales area (sales org, DC, & Divisions) as flat as possible. 1 company and # number of plants can be supported by 1 sales area. There are many fields in both the customer & material master that can be used for reporting, pricing etc.
The more sales areas means the more areas that master data is extended to. There are business driven reasons that justify multiple sales areas (2 unique sales forces, selling different products) but try KISS 1st.
