Creating a graph

I needed to write a program that would produce a graph. I have never learned graphics so I do not even know how to create the x and y axis. Earlier, I plotted a graph in microsoft excel with certain data points and I wanted to create the same graph only by writing a program in java. Could someone please help me! I need to finish this program soon. Thanks for your help in advance.

only one word : JFreeChart. IMHO it's the best freeware graph library.

  • How to create different Graphs in SharePoint 2013 without using Excel service?

    Hi All,
    I want to create different graphs in SharePoint without using Excel Service.
    I do not want to create excel and then upload that to SharePoint.
    Any one knows how to do that? Isthere any option to do that?

    Hi Darsh,
    You can use
    SharePoint chart webpart to display charts. Or you can use any jQuery charting library and feed data using JSOM or REST. Ex. high charts:

  • How to create ONE graph with a growth trend ($ and %)?

    I would like to create a graph with a growth trend.
    The graph should have figures on one side reflecting $ values and on the other % growth.
    I cannot make a trend on the same graph and usually spend ages adding another graph to show the trend. I end up making 2 graphs instead of one.
    Please refer to the following really basic graph that will give you an idea.
    ex : http://www.tellurideareahomes.com/images/graph1.jpg
    Can anyone show how to do that?

    What you want requires a bit of trickery.
    Chart the bar graph
    Chart the trend
    then move the trend one above the bar one after setting its background to none.
    If this workaround is not OK for you,
    _Go to "Provide Numbers Feedback" in the "Numbers" menu_, describe what you wish.
    Then, cross your fingers, and wait _at least_ for iWork'09 (possibly for iWork '99)

    Hi Libby,
    Select all three columns of data. All three must be 'regular' columns, not Header columns, and the X values must be in the leftmost column.
    Click the Charts button and choose the Scatter chart.
    The resulting chart will initially show only the first and second columns of data, and the selection will have been reduced to show this.
    Click the gear icon at the top left of the selection and choose Share X Values.
    You should see a result similar to this:
    Notes:
    The values on my sample table contain a random element, so they have changed from thhe first image to the second.
    The chart is as created by Numbers, with two edits:
    Data points have been connected with curves, using the Chart nspector.
    The curves were selected and their stroke increased to 2pts, using the stroke formating button in the format bar.

  • Help to create complex graphs in oracle 10g reports

    As my company has migrated from 6i to Oracle 10g, but as graph ogd files are obselete in Oracle 10g , I am trying to create new graphs in Oracle 10g.
    But problem I am facing that I cannot give axis value 'LABEL' or define my own scale or draw any lines on chart or inshort plot graph as I need. Moreover no way to read objects on Chart. In forms 6i it was easy to read object with command "OG_GET_OBJECT(OBJECT_NAME)". Helps tell me to use graph.dtd but I am unable to use it or I don't know how to use it. No documentation available anywhere how to use graph.dtd syntax.
    Is it possible to achieve my above goals or any other tools to customize charts.

    Hello FormsEleven,
    First of all very Thanks for reply. Thanks for your valuable time given to me.
    I don't have any error in my java/jinit console infact latest jinit is running and web browser start with message applet are being loaded and Oracle forms service installed successfully. All other forms details are very well displayed on browser form, only bean area remains empty. Following are my formsweb.cfg details. Note on below [bigraph] section I have commented some lines but that also done after my form did not work.

    Please help me ,if you have any idea to create multiple graph .
    Thanks
    B. Mohapatra

    This is a layout error message. I don't think it has anything to do with multiple graphs.
    Your object M_1 just gets too big:
    Cause: An object is not fully enclosed by the page. That is, the object extends beyond the page boundary.
    Action: Move or resize the object so that it does not extend outside the page boundary. Alternatively, increase the page size in the Report property palette.

  • How to create a graph in ADF Faces

    Hi there,
    I am working with ADF using JDeveloper 10.1.3 with Business Components (BC) and ADF Faces.
    I am trying to create a graph base on a View object, but I can't see any options on the Data Control Palette.
    Is there a graph wizard component for ADF Faces?
    Thanks for any help.
    Jim

    Thanks Frank.
    A graph was created successfully using the following steps:
    1. using BIGraphDef1.xml (with Oracle BI Graph library)
    2. add to pageDef.xml
    <iterator id="EmployeesView1Iterator" RangeSize="10" Binds="EmployeesView1"
    DataControl="AppModuleDataControl"/>
    <graph id="pageGraphid"
    IterBinding="EmployeesView1Iterator"
    ControlClass="oracle.dss.graph.Graph" SeriesLabel="EmployeeId"
    GraphPropertiesFileName="view.BIGraphDef1"
    SeriesType="SINGLE_SERIES">
    <AttrNames>
    <Item Value="Salary"/>
    </AttrNames>
    </graph>
    3. add to .jspx (with Graph 1.0 as library )
    <h:form>
    <af:panelGroup>
    <f:verbatim>
    <graph:Graph imageHeight="300" imageWidth="500" data="${bindings.pageGraphid}"/>
    </f:verbatim>
    </af:panelGroup>
    </h:form>
    4. add to web.xml
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>GraphGeneratorServlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>oracle.jbo.html.jsp.graph.GraphGeneratorServlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>GraphGeneratorServlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/faces/jspx/GraphGeneratorServlet</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>

  • Jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0 cannot create ADF graph

    Hi,
    I am new to ADF. I create a Java EE Web Application and EJB Diagram (JPA/EJB 3.0) as the demo shows( http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/JDevExperience/JDevExperience112flv.html). But when I try to create a graph, I cannot find the selection. Now I do not know why this probelm exist. Please help me. Thank you.

    Hi,
    Always mention your JDev version (check out this announcement : https://forums.oracle.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=56).
    Can you check out the ViewController project properties and see if the ADF Data Visualization library added under JSP Tag Libraries section? If not, try adding it and see if it resolves the issue.

  • I want to create three graphs in web template

    dear all
    I want to create three graphs in web template
    the graphs's type is lines
    top 1 and worst 3 will display in graph
    first is seven days data
    second is seven weeks data
    last is six months data
    how to create those
    pls give me some advice
    thanks

    Lemine,
    Basically you have two major steps:
    1.you need to create the corresponding queries (with conditions on the key figures) in the Query Designer.
    2. Open the Web Application designer and create three charts, set their properties, then drag them to the template , and finally link them to the corresponding queries/views.

  • Creating multiple graphs dashboard in Crystal XI using a single View from MS SQL Server 2005

    How to create multiple graphs dashboard in Crystal XI using a single View from MS SQL Server 2005?
    I need to use Crystal XI and create a dashboard which shows some sales data and stuff, multiple graphs on a single screen.
    My tech team says they can display one graph per page but not 4 graphs on the same page as it uses a common view from SQL Server 2005.
    How to manage this? Can we call in multiple views / graphs in the same page? Say 4 graphs on the same page?
    We use ASP or .NET for calling crystal reports into the App.

    Akshay.

    Have you tried creating multiple sections, putting each graph in a separate section and then underlaying the sections so they appear next to each other?

    I think the only way is to do that in the query.
    Another way shoul be to have all the info in the query and build 3 graph.
