Creating accounts and receiving email from a mail server

Hi,
I'm wanting to create a web application that creates a new email account for a user when they sign-up on my website. My application will process any email that is sent to that email address and extract parts of the email to store in a database.
I think I can use JavaMail to poll the email accounts for new emails which will then be parsed and inserted into my database but I don't know how to programmatically create the email account for each user. I'm looking at using either sendmail or postfix as my mail server and this is on either *nix or os x.
Any advice/pointers to Java APIs would be appreciated. If there's nothing available in Java that can do this kind of thing I'd love to hear about other solutions people know of or think might work :)

these 3 statements will delete email from the mail server.

How do I set up an account to receive email from my SMTP Relay Server?
I've setup the SMTP feature and set my Server to use anonymous authentication.
Things appear to look ok.
But I can't connect make a test connection to it when I am trying to add an email account in Outlook.
I could be doing something wrong here.
This is my process.
1. I have setup my SMTP Server.
2. Created a user account in AD and given it an email address.
3. Opened Outlook and tried to manually add a POP3 account by specifying the incoming and outgoing Server details.
But when I go to test the connection on the email setup it keeps failing.

I think it's trying to open it in a gMail eMail & is losing your gMail password that it needs log into gMail, but not 100% positive.
Have you tried Right clicking or Control+click on the eMail link & choose Copy? Works on some, not others.

Archiving/ Saving sent and received Emails in Mac Mail???

Hello.
I want to switch web hosts, and before doing so I want to save/ archive all of my past sent and received emails.
Is there a way to do so?
I know I can use gmail, not exactly sure how to do so but I bet it's not real hard, but I am wondering if there is a way to actually take all of the emails from my webmail and save them offline? Does Mac Mail do this? Can I save them as files? There are literally thousands of emails, so a way to save them to my local drive would be ideal....
any ideas?

You can create a New Mailbox to correspond with each Inbox and Sent mailbox, and then Copy the messages into those. At that point you can have a copy of each message in both the Inbox/Sent and the On My Mac mailboxes.
However, if your email address will stay exactly the same (is associated with a hosted Domain) then you may be able to merely change the name of the Incoming server in the Mail Preferences/Accounts/Account Information and continue with the same accounts. This might not be workable because of the inexactness of when you old/new Host swap responsibility. If not, then remove each original account, set each one up again in conformity with info from your new Host, and then move the messages from the the On My Mailboxes you created above, into the corresponding Inbox and Sent of the new accounts.

Email problems- can't delete email account and receiving emails twice: Blackberry Curve 8520

I would like to remove a gmail email account from my blackberry. I've removed the account from my service books (deleted them) but I still receive emails from this account.
I also am getting emails twice from my hotmail account (my main account which I'd like to keep). I also only don't get the delete from handset- mailbox option, only delete or cancel.
Grateful for any help.

Can I use iCloud for sending and receiving emails from my own domain name?

Hope that someone can help me please.
I have my own unique registered domain name.
Currently I am using the gmail server to transmit and receive email - I am using Mail on a MacBook, and an iPhone. Works just fine.
However, I was wondering if the iCloud can be set up to also provide this same function?
If so how do we achieve this?

Reg. Importing and receiving emails from multiple accounts

Hi,
My Hotmail account got locked and I am forced to create a new Hotmail account. I got an automated mail saying that I can ensure that I get my mails from the older Hotmail id with an import from the new account. I am however not able to find an option to
do that. The mails that are there in my previous account are highly critical and the mail id is used for all my transactions.

Is it possible to use a iCloud email account to receive emails from Apple/iTunes/AppStore?

I an wondering if it's possible somehow to receive all the emails from Apple, iTunes Store or App Store (that normally go to the Apple ID email address) to the iCloud email account (@me.com, @icloud.com) instead.

Yes:
Create a new exisitng mail account for the existing gmail email address.
File > New > Exisitng Mail account
or
Menu icon > New Messages > Exisitng Mail account.
The Thunderbird Mail account wizard window will appear.
Enter your name
Enter full email address
Enter password - the same one you use to logon to see your gmail emails in your webmail account.
Select to remember password.
Click on Continue.
Thunderbird will look up the configuration files.
Usually, it auto checks for IMAP, so you should not need to alter anything.
When it has located server settings, click on 'Done'.
this will create the imap mail account in Thunderbird.
Once this has been done, check settings.
You can locate them either;
Tools > Account Settings for the mail account
or
Menu icon > Options > Account Settings
or
right click on mail accoutn in FolderPane and select 'Settings'.
This link tells you what the settings should be. You will need to select the 'Thunderbird' option to see full info.

Suggest you do not subscribe to see 'All Mail' folder.
It is only gmails archive of all your emails, so subscribing to see this folder will double the size of your profile and may cause some slowdown in performance.

Sub-account cannot send email from Apple Mail

I've tried setting up two sub-accounts to send/receive email but no matter what I try, these accounts error out on sending email. Looks like they aren't recognized by smtp server. Is there a different setting for sub-accounts?

I fixed my problem - I deleted my email account on my iPhone, then tried to setup a new account. I had a few problems setting it up. It wouldn't recognize the incoming or outgoing servers and I lost my email altogether for a few hours. Then I changed every setting possible and finally figured out that I had 2-3 "Other SMTP Servers" as well as my "Primary Server". Once I deleted the Other SMTP Servers, my email worked and i'm able to send emails now!
I also think changing the "Server Port" number helped solve my problem also, and making sure "Use SSL" was turned off.

How do I set up my iPhone 4s with iCloud, so I can see and receive emails from my standard email box from my iMac?

I have set up iCloud on my iMac and on my iPhone 4s.
I can send an email from my iPhone to see on my iMac but not the other way around. If I am to recieve an email from a friend I want it to appear on my iPhone, and all my mac devices, thats the whole point of iCloud.

If your friend sends an email to your @me.com iCloud email address, and your iCloud email account is setup on your phone, the email WILL appear on your iPhone.
Have you setup your @me.com iCloud email address on your phone correctly?

Send and receive email from midlet app

I know it has been asked many time in this forum, just want to make it clearer for me. Is it possible to do these from midlet without using servlet? And why many people tend to use servlet than just make it directly from the midlet?
And if I'm trying to encrypt the text being sent, should i encrypt it in the midlet or in the servlet? Thanks.

Is it possible to do these from midlet without using servlet?Yes. You will have to either implement the mail protocol yourself or use some third party implementation for sending and receiving mails.
And why many people tend to use servlet than just make it directly from the midlet?I guess this is because JavaMail apis are readily available which makes the task simpler.

ICal and work email from a gmail server

I have a work email which is purchased via gmail, i.e. [email protected] Previously, all my calendars were set up and all ran smoothly. Then, I went to setup my store's email which is on the same gmail server, but i kept getting errors saying that it couldn't connect to a secure server. I looked at the settings for my other accounts and they showed as CalDAV and believe I set everything up identically, but to no avail. Is there a way to get my work email/calendar to show in iCal or is there something going on with gmail/ical that is causing this to error out?

The LabVIEW Internet Developers Toolkit has only SMTP (send) mail tools One option that I could think of is in Windows making calls to Outlook via ActiveX. In Unix there are myriad ways to write mail reciept and parsing scripts which could be called by LabVIEW.

IPhone deletes Emails from my mail server.

I have my Iphone 5 set to never remove emails from the server but my Iphone will pick up the email and delete them from the server. My sister is having the same problem. Any ideas?

Are you using a POP3 server? The server may not be honoring the do not delete request. POP3 is antiquated and should be avoided if at all possible.
IMAP and Exchange allow full synchronization between the server and all clients. If you delete a message using an IMAP client, it will be deleted from the server.
