Creating Adapter Modules

Hello
  Can anyone tell me as to how do i create my own adapter modules. The java caode has been developed but where in the configuration builder of XI should this be stored and how?Could someone explain the entire process as to how to do this and also the configuration that needs to be done.
Regards
Sharat

1. Make sure you have the following jar files with you.
aii_af_cci.jar
aii_af_mp.jar
aii_af_ms_api.jar
aii_af_ms_spi.jar
aii_af_trace.jar
aii_af_svc.jar
aii_af_cpa.jar
2. Open NetWeaver Developer Studio. Create a new EJB Module
New>J2EE>EJB Module.
Specify a meaningful name for the module and click Finish.
3.  Right click on the folder ejbModule and create new package.
Enter a meaningful name for package and click Finish.
4.  Right click on the Project, select New-->Folder. Enter lib as the folder name.
Copy all the jar files specified above from your local system and paste them into newly create lib folder.Right click on the project. Select Properties-->Java build path. Go to Libraries tab and add the jar files from lib folder to the classpath.
5.Switch to J2EE Perspective-->J2EE Explorer tab.
Right click on the newly created package and select New-->EJB.
6. Specify a meaningful name for the EJB. Select Bean Type as Stateless Session Bean.
Make sure to uncheck the checkbox “Generate default interfaces”.
Click on Next.
7.On the next screen change the values of following attributes as specified below.
Remote Interface: com.sap.aii.af.mp.module.ModuleRemote
Home Interface: com.sap.aii.af.mp.module.ModuleHome
Local Interface: com.sap.aii.af.mp.module.ModuleLocal
LocalHome Interface: com.sap.aii.af.mp.module.ModuleLocalHome
Click on Finish.
8. After clicking on Finish, a Creation error will be reported. Ignore this error as the file would still be created as specified.
Open the newly created file in Java Editor and add “Module” to the implements list of the bean class. Press Ctrl + Shift + O to remove import errors if any.
You will see a new error as
“Class must implement the inherited abstract method Module.process(ModuleContext, ModuleData)”.
Right click in the java editor and select Source-->Override / Implement methods. Select process method from Module interface and click Ok.
You should have an error free build of the project after this.
process is the only method where we need to write the business logic.
With this you are ready to right the situation specific business logic in the process method.
9. Once you create a deployable archive i.e. .ear for this using NDS, you can deploy this archive using NDS or using SDM.

  • Need Help in Creating adapter module for SFTP Sender in NWDS

    Hi experts,
    I have a scenario where i should write an adapter module for SFTP sender in NWDS.. need your help in achieving this..

    Hello,
    >>i have followed the procedure of FTP but, adapter is not picking the file
    Make sure u have written proper expression to pick file.
    >>do we have any different adapter parameters for SFTP... the input file is .csv..
    I don't think there are any specific parameters needed for SFTP (but in case u are reading file name in AM then u might have to adjust SFTP namespace)

  • Adapter Module Processing

    I have a file to file scenario. The incoming file contains Employee Details and I need to validate each record and need to reject them if they are invalid as per the business rules.
    For this I know I need to create the Adapter Module Processing.
    I am following the below mentioned document.
    https://websmp209.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700003237612005E/HowToCreateAdapterModules.pdf
    I dont have an NWDS installed, but I want to develop my java program in Eclipse? Whether it is OK to do it in Eclipse? Once I develop my Java program what exactly I need to do? How to create a Jar file in Eclipse? How to import that in XI?
    Thanks.

    Hi Jenni,
    This topic has been already discussed in the below thread:-
    Creating Adapter Modules
    In general, I will explain how to create .JAR file:-
    Creating a .JAR file is easy. Go to the directory where your classes are stored and type :-
    jar -cf myfile.jar *.class
    (jar is the command to run the jar utility. -cf are options, where c create arhive and f specify archive file name)
    Now, if you have an existing JAR file, and want to extract it, you'd type:-
    jar -xf myfile.jar
    Also go thro' this link for step by step procedure on simple Module Processing:-
    https://websmp201.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700003237612005E/HowToCreateAdapterModules.pdf
    I hope this provides you a solution.

  • Code to retrive the sender and receiver interface names using custome adapter module

    Hello Team,
    I want to develop an custom adapter module which could retrieve the names of the sender and receiver interfaces of the scenario and for that i am trying to use com.sap.aii.af.service.administration.api.monitoring.ProcessContextFactory.ParamSet but i don't know whether this API will support or not and also i don't know how to develop the code using this API so please suggest me some code for it so that i could retrieve the names.
    Thanks you all in advance.
    Regards,
    Avinash.

    Hi,
    Just ASMA setting will do the needful. Are you planning to rename your target file name. If yes then only you will require UDF.
    Update: Since your directory name will be taken from source file name then you have to use mapping for this, else it will not be possible.
    I don't know if creating a new module for this will help you solve the issue, but in that case rather creating adapter module, mapping will be easier.

    Tks.

    Hi,
       >>>What I need to create a EJB?
           If you have NDS or Ecclipse you can create them automatically.
       >>>I need to generate a jar?
          Yes you need to generate a .Jar for that Ejb.
       >>>Where I put it?
          Put that .Jar in .Ear file. and then deploy it on to the Xi server or PCK or Decentralised Adapter Engine where ever u want to use.

  • Creating a new message in adapter module

    Hello,
    I already posted the question in this [Thread|Sending Adapter Module to split messages;, but I now create this new topic so you can get points for your answer
    Jan from this thread wrote "I know how to send a new message using a new instance of the Module Processor and using ModuleProcessor.process()" and I'm now searching for a code example how to create a new message from within an adapter module. I think it must be something like [this|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm40/helpdata/en/8d/6ad6409ff68631e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm].
    Regards
    Markus

    Hi Sippy,
    First of all we need to configure the systems. So that we can transfer data from Outbound system to Inbound system.
    Configure an Outbound Process that uses Message Control
    Step 1: Create a new Message Type
    TCode: We 81
    Path: From the Area menu of EDI, choose Development, IDOC Type/ Message
    Step 2: link the IDOC type to the Message Type
    TCode: We 82
    Path: From the Area menu of EDI, choose Development, IDOC Type/ Message
    Step 3: Create a new Process Code
    TCode: We 41
    Path: From the Area menu of EDI, choose Control,Outbound Process COde
    Step 4: Create or Change a Partner Profile
    TCode: We 41
    Path: From the Area menu of EDI, choose IDOC,Partner Profile
    Configure an Outbound Process for Stand-Alone Programs.
    1. Create a new message type
    2. Link the IDOC type to the Message Type
    3. Add the message to the ALE Distribution Model(use BD 64)
    4. Create or change the Partner Profile
    I think this will be helpful for you.
    Reward points if useful.
    Cheers,
    Swamy Kunche

  • Create multiple messages in adapter module

    Hi!
    I've the problem to solve the following scenario: Mail (1) -> XI -> IDocs (1..n)
    Since for IDocs message split is not supported and I don't want to use a BPM, is it possible to create different xi-messages in an adapter module which processes the mail?
    Therefore I want to make the message split directly on the source: the adapter module.
    Best regards,
    Daniel

    Daniel,
    There is no need for a BPM and for an Adapter Module split.
    1. Create an XSD out of your IDOC strcuutre and change the occurence of the IDOC element to 0 to unbounded.
    2. Import this XSD and use this in your Message Mapping as the target Message Type. For every IDOC to be created in your Target , you will need to create an IDOC tag in the mapping. Each IDOC tag indiactes one IDOC.
    3. In your Interface Mapping, DO NOT CREATE a separate Interface for the IDOC, but use the IDOC itself as the Message Interface and select the mapping with the XSD as the target.
    Configuration will be as usual.
    Regards,
    Bhavesh

  • Creating J2EE adapter module problem

    Hi All,
    when i am creating a J2EE customer-specific adapter module in SAP Netweaver Developer Studio, then in the java class when i write these statements:
    <u>import com.sap.aii.af.mp.module.*;
    import com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.*;</u>
    public class CustomerMeter implements SessionBean, <u>Module</u>{
    it is showing error on the  above underlined things that it cannot resolve these things.
    can anybody suggest where to locate these librarys in Project - Properties - Java Build Path - Libraries path from the main menu.
    Thanks,

    Hi Amit,
    On changing the ejb-jar.xml as you said:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE ejb-jar PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 2.0//EN"
                             "http://java.sun.com/dtd/ejb-jar_2_0.dtd">
    <ejb-jar>
        <description>EJB JAR description</description>
        <display-name>EJB JAR</display-name>
         <enterprise-beans>
              <session>
                   <ejb-name>CustomerMeter</ejb-name>
                   <ejb-class>pkgCustomerMeter.CustomerMeter</ejb-class>
                   <home>com.sap.aii.af.mp.module.ModuleHome</home>
                   <remote>com.sap.aii.af.mp.module.ModuleRemote</remote>
                   <local-home>com.sap.aii.af.mp.module.ModuleLocalHome</local-home>
                   <local>com.sap.aii.af.mp.module.ModuleLocal</local>
                   <session-type>Stateless</session-type>
                   <transaction-type>Container</transaction-type>
              </session>
         </enterprise-beans>
    </ejb-jar>
    But now on saving this xml, it is giving the following  error:
    <b>The content of element type "session" must match "(description?,display-name?,small-icon?,large-icon?,ejb-name,home?,remote?,local-home?,local?,ejb-class,session-type,transaction-type,env-entry,ejb-ref,ejb-local-ref,security-role-ref,security-identity?,resource-ref,resource-env-ref)".</b>
    Could you please tell how to correct this error.

  • Using a different user(other than default PI user) with adapter module

    Hi,
    We are having a custom adapter module built to interact with a Hardware Security Module(HSM). This custom adapter module by default uses a PI user configured in the system. However, we are not able to pass commands to HSM because of insufficient authorizations to this PI user. Now, we do not exactly know the permissions required for the user to access HSM. We have asked the HSM support team about the same. However, I wanted to explore the possibility of using a different PI user to work with the adapter module and eventually pass commands to HSM.
    We have an admin user configured which has all the necessary authorizations. Is it possible to use this admin user created on PI system to work with adapter module so that it passes commands to HSM?
    Thanks,
    Ravi Desai

    We have given the necessary authorizations to PI user.

  • Adapter Module Receiver File Adapter

    Hi All,
    I am getting file name in the Mapping in my target structure in a field FILENAME and i want to use this field to create a file at the target with the name as the value in FILENAME.
    I have to develop this by using Adapter Module.
    Note : This can be done by Variable Substitution and Dynamic Configuration UDF.But i want to implement the same by using adapter module.
    Can somebody help me out in getting the FILENAME from mapping inside the module process method of module.
    Thanks,
    Zabi

    Try this..
    private Map param;
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) param.get(
    StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey KEY_FILENAME = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    String Filename = conf.get(KEY_FILENAME);[/code]
    Thanks
    Sebin
