Creating divisions in trifold brochure

Hi there,
I am making a trifold brochure and want to insert the blue lines that guide centering (I don't know what they're called). They're present on the template, but I don't want to have to cut and paste everything into a template at this point. How do I insert them to center on a trifold brochure?
thanks!
Katie

fruhulda,
Actually, the guides in the tri-fold Template seem to be of the more permanent kind, if the Template of the OP is typical of the ones I've look at.
In addition to what Kelly noted, that the rulers need to be present, you also need to have selected an object before trying to drag a guide off the ruler if you are in Word Processing mode. I suspect that the template of interest is probably a Page Layout document, in which there is no need to select an object first, but I know that you prefer to work in Word Processing mode so you may not have noticed the difference.
Still, your answer is perfectly correct. If you want to print the "guide", it must actually be a line Shape, not a non-printing ruler Guide.

    How can  I expand the gutters/ space between panels on a document created with a Pages brochure template?

    You haven't said which.
    Each panel is usually just a locked object, unlock them and resize the boxes.

  • Trifold brochure in Pages for iPad???

    Hello, I'm trying to make a trifold brochure in the pages app for iPad. I thought a template would be available but I must have been mislead thinking that the app would be similar to pages for Mac. Does anyone know how to do this? i can't even figure out how to get a document into landscape!
    Thanks in advance!

    I wonder if this would work for you:
    Since it sounds like you've found what you like in Pages for Mac, might you be able to pick, say, the trifold you're looking for on the Mac, then save it to iCloud from the Mac, and retrieve and work with it on your iPad?  If that works, perhaps the landscape document would work that way as well.

  • Using pages to create a two-sided brochure and second page prints upside down!

    When using a pages template to create a two-sided brochure, the second page needs to be reversed (upside down) for correct printing when emailing to an outside printer sources.  How do I reverse the page within the pages app?

    IF you are using a printer with 2-sided printing, in the expanded print dialog you will have a selection for long-edge binding OR short-edge binding. Whichever setting you have set, switch to the other one.

  • Create an interactive digital brochure

    Which of the Adobe Suite applications is best suited to create an interactive digital brochure? I am new to Creative Coud and fairly new to most of the Adobe Apps but wanting to learn. Indesign or Illustrator plus which others?
    I want to be able to view brochure on desktop and mobile platforms and I want the brochure to include page flips, video, animation, etc.

    You can't do all of those things in the same kind of digital file. You can choose InDesign. Your choices are interactive PDF, SWF or a tablet app with Digital Publishing Suite. You need to investigate which of those features work with which output.

  • Creating Division in SD as part of Org. Structure

    How do we create divisions while preparing for having an org structure in SAP? I was able to create Sales Org and Distribution Channel, but I am not able to find the path in IMG for creating Divisions.

    Hi there,
    SPRO --> Enterprise structure --> Definition --> Logistics General --> define division
    Divion & plant are defined in logistics general as they are used across other modules as well.
    But assignment to sales org is done in SD assignment.

    With CS6 you have to pay extra for these plugins.
    With the CC you can download different ME versions to add their functionality.

  • Trifold brochure printing Lexmark back side is upside down.

    Trying to print a trifold brochure using Pages and a Lexmark Pro705.  The back side is printing upside down using the auto 2 side function.  Can't figure out how to get the second page to print properly for the trifold to fold correctly.

    2 sided functions are set up for portrait pages not landscape.
    To counter what the Lexmark is doing, you will have to rotate everything on the second side 180° or do the printing manually and rotate the one sided sheets to suit in a second pass.

    Internet Explorer,  Firefox , Opera and Google Chrome are Browsers. Yahoo and Google, unless you are referring to Google Chrome are not browsers. The browser is what you need to change. there are three images below of three different browsers. You are probably using Internet Explorer. Switch to another browser for a test print.
    Google Chrome
    Firefox
    Opera
    Do you understand the term browser as an interface? It is a graphical user interface through which you connect to MSN and Yahoo to browse the internet.

  • Designing a trifold brochure

    Hi there,
    I would like to design a trifold brochure using Photoshop (at least to begin with, before moving to InDesign, I think) and I was wondering how you specify guidelines (for where the folds will be).  I've tried finding a basic template but nothing seems to provide all the guideline information.  I tried the UPrinting template and it did provide vertical lines for the folds.
    Thanks,
    Austin

    If you're going to cobble together a design in Photoshop, why would you bother with InDesign?
    There is a reason why Adobe sells InDesign for page design and Photoshop for photo preparation.
    I would recommend scouring the internets for tutorials on page layout in Photoshop to recognize that basic page layout features (bleed, crop marks, columns, character styles, paragraph styles, tables, etc.) are clumsy in, if not absent from, Photoshop.

  • Indesign Trifold Brochure 8.5x11 Inches Template

    Hi all,
    Does InDesign Cloud comes with templates for an Trifold Brochure 8.5x11 Inches ? I need to do one very quickly.
    Thank you,
    Isa

    The earlier version of InDesign templates are available via InDesign Secrets:
    http://indesignsecrets.com/resources/indesign-templates
    They include a tri-fold leaflet template. Curious it should have this name as there are only two folds and six "pages".
    If your leaflet is to be a roll fold (as opposed to a zig-zag fold), ensure the last page, that is on the right-hand side when you're looking at the inside of the leaflet, is slightly narrower so it tucks in when it's folded.

  • Creating a CD-Rom brochure

    Hello,
    My current website is in Flash I would like to create a
    CD-ROM capabilities brochure to hand to clients at meetings. I
    would like it to be a version of my current website. Do I need to
    do it in Director? Can I just import my current flash site into
    Director?
    I have never used Director will it give the CD-ROM a little
    more OOOMPH?
    Thanks so much.

    No. You don't need to use Director. When in Flash, go under
    File and down to Publish Settings... From there select Window
    Projector and/or Mac Projector. This will embed the Flash player
    into your project. The projector file can now be distributed on CD
    and load as an application. I'm not sure about Vista but on the
    previous Windows OS's you could have the app auto load when the CD
    in put into the drive. This is not an option on the current Mac
    platform. Just make sure you include a projector file for both
    platforms unless your sure that your audience is platform
    specific.

  • Can you create a program or brochure in Photoshop?

    Or is this only in InDesign? Any other programs capable of this?

    There are many programs capable of this. PSE can do it, but it would be much easier to use some kind of desktop publishing or word processing program, since PSE's text capabilities are rather rudimentary. Also, if you plan to have it commercially printed, PSE can't convert the file to CMYK.

  • Name does not override correctly when creating a Division from template

    I am still having a problem when creating Divisions with the WebServices API.
    Namely, when I create a Division based on a Template (in order to have a given default thumbnail image and description, etc) the Name parameter (the "title" of the Division, which appears next to its icon on the main site page inside the top level Section boxes) is never set correctly. The Name I specify for the Division never overrides the default.
    In my example, I try to create a Division with name "Food Science and Human Nutrition." It is based on a Division template with handle 1911155332. The Name of that Division template is "Robot Division" and the ShortName is "RobotDivision".
    I am sending the following XML via Web Services:
    <ITunesUDocument>
    <Version>1.1.3</Version>
    <AddDivision>
    <ParentHandle>1945525657</ParentHandle>
    <ParentPath/>
    <TemplateHandle>1911155332</TemplateHandle>
    <Division>
    <Name>Food Science and Human Nutrition</Name>
    <ShortName>FSHN</ShortName>
    <Identifier>RobotCourses:FSHN</Identifier>
    <Permission>

    <Access>Download</Access>
    </Permission>
    </Division>
    </AddDivision>
    </ITunesUDocument>
    The Division is created and no errors come back. However, when I look at the site, the Name of the newly created Division is "Robot Courses" (not "Food Science and Human Nutrition" as I want). The ShortName IS correctly set to "FSHN" as I specified in the XML.
    Incidentally this was part of creating a Course "FSHN 101," the Course is also based on a Course template, but it creates with the Name and ShortName as I desire and there are no other problems - I can log into the Division and Course as expected.
    *QUESTION #1: Is anyone else out there ever having this problem?*
    *QUESTION #2: Is there anything obviously wrong in my XML?*
    I have tried this multiple times, always with the same result. Creating Divisions not based on a template works (but for various reasons we need to be able to use templates). I have been unable to edit the Name after the fact with MergeDivision either.
    Our campus Apple contact sent in a ticket about this, but the response from Apple was to post here in the forum, which is monitored. I am unsure if I should post questions of this sort here in the Administrators Forum or in the general forum, for this one I will try both.
    Thank you very much for any assistance.

  • Can I create a brochure (11x17) that includes photos/text with Elements?

    I'm considering purchasing Elements. My main need is to create two or three brochures a year for the nonprofit I volunteer with. Is that possible - and, more importantly, advisable - to attempt with Elements? I'm a mac user.

    I would recommend you take a look at the free Open Office utilities from Oracle which has publishing, PDF, spreadsheets and word processing all included. PSE9 would be ideal for image editing and for inserting into those documents.
    You certainly want to avoid Quark Express or Adobe InDesign CS5.5 as you will almost certainly be paying for features you will never need.
