Creating Master Data Centrally Using Guided Procedures

Is it possible to create master data centrally using GP say for example creating Material master data without using MDM? Is there a stand out of box delivered scenario exist without MDM. I did see the article Create Master Data Centrally Using Guided Procedures but it uses MDM.
Any help appreciated.

However, where will i get the deployable files that it selects in the Import GP/CAF contents step of the demo? those are the webdynpro components files. One is SCA and other is SDA. Where will i get them?

Well, i searched a lot on the forums but didnt get any thing.
My requirement is to use MDM Java APIs for creating material master data using Guided Procedures. However, i got one nice document "[How to create master data centrally using guided procedure|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/92811997-0d01-0010-9584-f7d535177831]". This doc discuss about business partner creation and also have a link to downloadable file. But now when i click on this download link, it says download expired !
Can anyone please post a valid link to these deployable files?
Or anyone could post some usefull materail or links on the above mentioned requirement?

Central Master Data using Guided Procedures

Hello Experts,
I am working on a scenario where we have to create master data centrally using Guided Procedures. I don't have any idea about GP. We have to implement an approval mechanism using GP for our custom repository.
I have read the PDF document available on sdn regarding this. But its for MDM5.5 SP04 and the files are also not available for download.
We are currently working on MDM5.5 SP06 Patch2.
Is anybody working on the same scenario?? Any help regarding this, as to how to implement this scenario will be really appreciated.

I am actually having problem in locating (or creating new ones), those 2 files which are deployed through SDM in the scenario given.

Creation of Vendor in MDM using Guided Procedure ...SDA not found

Hi All,
We are trying to create Master data Using Guided Procedure.
After deploying MDM components on Portal we are able to see the standard iViews provided by SAP on Portal.
We are using the following PDF to create the scenario.

According the PDF we have to deploy following two sda on the portal server to see the GP callable Object.
H2G_GuidedProcedures.sda
H2G_SourceCode.zip
But we are not able to find Follwoing sda on even Service Market Place.
If anyone knows from wher to download these two SDA, Let us also Know.

While clicking on link that is given in PDF for these files its saying:
Error - download expired
Sorry, the file you want to download, is already deleted or the id is incorrect.
Perhaps we require a special ID of basis guys because it might be possible we dont have access to these files.
Just check with your ITICS team.

Identifing duplicate master data records using the MDM Import Manager

hi all
I read the Topis "How to identify duplicate master data records using the MDM Import Manager</b>"
i tried to create import maps and to set rules. but when i import them it creates the new vendor records for each rule with rest of the fields blank.
when i import vendor data all the three fields i.e Match rate , match type and match group are blank.
My Question is :
I am getting vendor data from SAP R/3.
In which source (in lookup xml file or data xml file) do i have to include these above three fields and how all the rules will be reflected in repository?

Here we go when do you Import any data (vendor master) please follow the following steps;
1. First of all apply the map to the source data
2. In the Match Record tab there are 3 possiblities
   a.[Remote Key] : Checks the current source rec with
     repository along with all the fields - This is
     default
   b.Remove [Remote key] - by double click the same; and
     choose any single fields like Vendor Number or
     name - Then the current record will be matched
     with the repository based on the field.
   c.Instead of single field you can choose combination
     also.
3. Based on the Match results, match class will be set
   automatically;
   a. None
   b. Single
   c. Multiple
4. Then Match Type
    a.Exact-All the individual value matches are Equal.
    b.Partial-At least one value match is Equal and at least one Undefined; no value matches are Not Equal.
    c.Conflict-At least one value match is Equal and at least one value match is Not Equal.
5. then chek the Import status and Execute the import.

Hi All,
Can we restrict a master data characterstic using another master data characterstic, if they were both compounded together. There are two fields viz.., A,B in r/3 master data table in which A and B combinely serve as a key. In BW side i have created a master data object for A and compuded object B ot it. So that i am getting all the data from r/3 table. But in query designer when i am trying to restrict object A values by object B, in a structure i am not getting any data. If i do same out of structure i am getting data in report. Please help in overcoming this problem.

Yes it should display data, but it is not displaying. If i am doing the same restriction out side of a structure i am getting data. But whilr trying to do so, i am not getting that. The reason why i am bothering about structure is 'Objext B have 10 different values and i want 10 coloumns in report in whicg Obj A must display respective data when i restrict it by B' , whicg i can do this only if i use structure else i can't restrict B that many times .

My client is using QM but inspection set up is not done.In material master check box for post to inspection stock is activated.Now they want to go for inspection set up in material master & using inspection types.In such case what care should be taken while creating master data. Because inspection stock will be already available while doing inspection set up & they have some batches in inspection stock which are created in year 2006- 2007.What care to be taken if we use mass processing(QA08) so that all batches which are manufactured in previous years will also get incorporated in new inspection set up.
Any suggestions are most welcome.Thanks in advance

Long back I worked for similar assignment where only QM has to be introduced.
First you
1..identify the Material and Plants needs to be setup for Inspection
2. Create MIC for identified material
3..Create Task Lists
4..Make list of Material in Quality Stock with Plant and Batch number
5. Create new Inspection type (Copy of 08) for material already in QI stock
6..Move QI stock to UR
7.. On non working day or in mid night assign Inspection setup to all material (It's a QM Go Live dt)
8 .. Move identified stock back to QI stock so that Inspection lots will get created (IL origin 08)
Hope this information will give you some clarity & less hassle to move forward

I understand from the documentation to maintain/create master data we have to use normal BW masterdata loading or Maintaince using RSA1. We can utilise those data in BPS ofcourse..

InfoUser Master Data Export using scc8

Hi Team,
Iam doing User Master Data Export using scc8 .I have 1 question regarding this:
1)When i took export using scc8 only 1 TR is created in cofiles folder and i cant see that TR in data-files folder.
Can anybody help me in this??

We are going to rebuild the system so we need to preserve the user master record data.

Want to display only certain manully created master data in F4 help?

Hello all,
We have created a Z infoobject (Char 10) and included in our cube. This Infoobject is mapped directly from DSO from another infoobject which has dates, when I see the data in the cube it looks good for this infoobject.
Now my requirement is, I have created a variable on this IO in the query and I want the users to see in the F4 help only the values that I manually maintain in the master data (I am creating master data records)
In the Bex Explorer tab of RSD1, I have selected "Values in Master Data table" and it shows me the values that I have created manually and also the values that got loaded in the cube from transaction data.
What is the setting I can use so the F4 shows only the values that I want users to see.
Any suggestions.

Are you using 3.5 or 7.0 query designer?
If it is 7.0 query designer then you can see the option "refresh variable as designed"
But if you choose this option "values from the master data" it should work.
I've used in my projects this option verymuch. it worked.
Other than that you may change the query generated program in SE38, to select the F4 options in the Variable.
OR
You can keep Default values in the variable for the User.

Load Master Data InfoObject using Query as Datasource

I there a way to use a BW Query as a Datasource to load a Master Data InfoObject. I have a query that calculates DSO for a customer and would like to update a custom DSO attribute in 0Customer

As Bhanu mentions, Analysis Process Designer would be an option. I did not use it before 3.5, but I know it did not have all the capabilities it has with 3.5.
I don't think there is any need for transactional ODSs in the process however. You can specify your query as the DataSource, specify any filtering / transformations needed, and then specify the InfoObject that is the data target. I haven't used a query to create Master Data with it but I do use it to take Master Data as input, manipulate it, and then update that Master Data.
The APD is covered in BW380 along with Data Mining - which is a good class if anyone is interested.
Is it easy enough for someone to pickup without training on it? I don't know - I think it would be for someone that has experience with the BW Admin Wkbench and has time to experiment. I think the related Data Mining features would require training.
APD has a lot of powerful capabilities that could be used to solve a variety of challenges not readily solved with the Admin Wkbench tools. I'm not sure why SAP hasn't done more to promote it.
