Creating/Updating multiple customer records via DEBMAS06

Hi all,
I have used DEBMAS06 for inbound processing of customer master records in SAP. My problem is legacy is providing multiple rows of data (multiple customer) in one single file.
Segment type E1KNA1M shows minimum & maximum number of segments in sequence as 1. Does that mean we cannot create multiple customers through one single call of the IDOC from XI?
We are using XI as middleware.
Please respond. I will reward aptly.

you can update mutiple records in one statement just make the occurance to unbounded in your data type declartion for JDBC reciver .

From a business point, we would like to only use VD05/XD05 to block a customer record and VD06 to mark for deletion. This will allow users to create/change the record using VD02/XD02 and different set of users to have control block/delete.

Hi,
You will have to discuss this with your Basis team and check if there is any authorization object for that particular functionality in the Transaction.
As far as i know i dont think it is possible, you can only restrict the users from using particular transactions but not from using a particular functinality in a transaction.
The best option is to assign alll the Master Data related responsibility to a limited and resposible group of users or discuss with your technical team if they can do some restricting.

Update Multiple DB records in one table with one form

I am developing an onine proofing system that will display a
number of images, and then allow the customer to approve each
image, as well as provide comments.
I currently have a table setup with the various elements (an
image that dynamically gets its name, details about the image, and
the neccessary form fields).

I would then apply a repeat region (the number of signs would
vary), and like to update all the records with the customer's
comments and approval with one form. How is this done? I have
downloaded a trial of the developers toolkit, but the documentation
is horrible. I would be willing to buy an extension that will allow
this, if one exists.

Hi Kamal,
You have to take help of portal developer for the same as for PI you have to write this in deployement descriptor for application to make this work.
In deployement descriptor you define the permission or role name and once this is done you can include that in roles to be assigned to user to make the logic work.
Please raise this query into NW portal group to get it solved.

If you intent to add new values to the picklist, then you cannot use any of the entity WS for this reason
If you want to update/change the value of a picklist field example Status from Open to Closed then the entity WS can be used.
For the first case you can use UpdatePicklist Operation under the Service API >> Picklist WSDL

Multiple track recording via Firewire

I want to record multiple tracks, (preferably as individual WAV files,) from a firewire equipped mixing desk which provides direct outputs from each channel via firewire.
Can Soundtrack, (not Pro,) allow me to do this? I'd like to lay down up to 24 tracks at a time if possible.
Normaly I edit on ProTools LE with a dual 2GHz G5, but for convenience I'd prefer to use a 12" iBook as I'd be on location. Am I correct in thinking that it would be fine for basic track laying?

Tell me, do you know of file size importing limitations with Logic Express. The Digidesign people are telling me there is a 2Gb file limitation for importation into ProTools LE.
I was planning on backing up recording multiple WAV files on a Mackie hard disc multi-track recorder that creates separate mono WAV files for each track.
Snag is that I was hoping to hit record and leave it running for several hours - which could create WAV files that are quite sizable.
Either that or find a way to cut a WAV file into smaller pieces - but I've got a feeling that its not possible to do this.

XML file, with multiple customer records - post DEBMAS over Integr.Process

Hi all,
is it possible to map a single XML file message that contains multiple records for customer master to multiple messages ?
I know that it is possible to do a "multi IDOC " mapping but then the splitting of the messages is done by the IDOC adapter, not earlier.
I have to process every single customer master record by an integration process to check if its creation or change (and get the customer number).
When I try in the interface mapping to set the receiver to "0 to unbound" then also the message format of the sender requires two additional hierarchie levels "...message, message1" . My orginal file does not contain these tags.
Is XI not able to handle this easy requirement without making a university study out of it?

You need not worry about those tags to be in your file. Those are added while mapping is being executed. All that you need to do is use file content conversion in sender adapter and put your lookup logic in Integration Process and mapping..!!
You do not need a university degree, if you understadn the concepts..!!

Unable to Create/Update Sales Party Object via FA Web Service Calls.

Invoking the updateSalesParty() and createSalesParty() methods of the Web Service proxy doesn't show any errors, but at the same time, it doesn't create or update the Sales party objects on the Fusion instance.

Creating Update and deleting Records Forms

Hi Guys
Hopefully some one can help me with this, I am using php and
mysql, I already have a page that shows all the records of
customers details, which I can navigate through the pages of
records.
I have created a update page, using the update wizard, which
works but only shows the first record. I have added a repeat region
and page navigation which allows me to choose individual records
but wont update those records.
I also took a look at a tutorial video that had you adding an
extra column and add the word update to add a hyperlink that took
you to the update form with that particular record for updating,
the video was using cold fusion the link was update page address
then this ?ID=#ID#, I tried different versions of this with no
success.
I also tried to alter the record set and added a filter using
Member_ID and = paramater URL, this made my cusomter detail page
stop working.
can some one help please

a Master
Detail Page Set for PHP (it's on the Insert > Data Objects
menu).
Creating an update page is very easy.
1. Create a page that lists all records in the database.
2. Alongside each record, create a link to the update page.
3. When creating the link, click the Parameters button inside
the Select
File dialog box.
4. In the Name field of the Parameters dialog box, type the
name of the
primary key (ID).
5. Click the lightning bolt icon to the right of the Value
field, and
select the primary key from the recordset.
6. Click OK twice to close both dialog boxes.
7. Save the page and test it in a browser. When you mouse

pass the
details of the record as a URL parameter to the update page.

MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE for Creating Outbound IDOCs
I am Collecting all the Data Records and Passing into the Structure EDIDC.
Here my problem is
For one Route there are Multiple Customer records.
so my First Parent Segment is ZROUTE
i am passing the Datarecord for this Segment.
and for the Customer Segment , I have 5 Customers,
so i am passing the 5 Data records to SDATA .
Loop at gt_route into gw_route.
Pass the Route data into the Data record SDATA
gw_idocdata-sdata    = gw_route_header.
gw_idocdata-segnam = lc_route_header.
gw_idocdata-hlevel = lc_4.
APPEND gw_idocdata TO gt_idocdata.
CLEAR : gw_route_header, gw_idocdata.
Loop at gt_customer into gw_customer
                               where anlage = gw_route-anlage.
Pass the Customer data into the Data record SDATA
gw_idocdata-sdata = gw_customer.
gw_idocdata-segnam = lc_customer.
gw_idocdata-hlevel = lc_5.
APPEND gw_idocdata TO gt_idocdata.
CLEAR : gw_customer, gw_idocdata.
ENDLOOP

So this customer segment is comming 5 times in my IDOC

Error during syntax check of IDoc (outbound)
I think it is because the IDOC is not yet SET RELEASE.
But i am having the Dought in Passing the data to SDATA fied

Hi,
First of all EDIDC is the control record, EDID4 is the data record. When collecting customer record into idoc_data you need to insert customer's parent segment number.
Eg.
route1, segnum 1.
   child 1, segnum 2 and parent segnum = 1
   child 2, segnum 3 and parent segnum = 1
   child 3, segnum 4 and parent segnum = 1
route 2, segnum 5
   child 1, segnum 6 and parent segnum = 5
   child 2, segnum 7 and parent segnum = 5
   child 3, segnum 8 and parent segnum = 5

instead of using set attribute you should use bind table method to display/update the records in table view.
step1 ) collect all the data in a local table
step2 ) and the bind that lacal table with your node

I have one table named(Pay_apply_det) in this table i want to update one column named(Hierarchy) every time and according to change i want to update or i want to maintain my log table named(pay_apply_appr).It based on level wise approval when the lowest person approve the record show on next level but if the second
level person back it will be show only previous level hierarchy.And when the final approval happen the Posting_tag column of pay_apply_det will be updated too with hierarchy column.

Hi Rafat,
If you are able to insert into, all you need to do is iterate through the rows. For this , before the first IF condition

BAPI to create customer records (XD03)

I've seen some similar threads to this but I'm not sure the question is fully answered yet.
Is there a single, or are there multiple BAPI's available that will fully create a customer master record, by which I mean all the company code data as well as te Sales area data? I am aware of the BAPI_CUSTOMER_CREATEFROMDATA1, but this doesn't appear to meet the full requirement. Also I'm slightly alarmed by the 'Only for ONLINE Store!!!' comment in the documentation.
Previous posts on this forum and on others suggest that to fully create a customer record people have had to resort to writing their own BDC programs. Is there anyone who can confirm that this is the case?

Thanks for the welcome and the advice.
While researching this further I came across SAP note 390045 which is directing me away from using the BAPI route. I realise now that I didn't mention in the original post that the idea we're investigating is having the data for the customer accounts created externally to SAP and then call a BAPI to create the account in SAP.
I suspect we could achieve this but it's getting a bit messy so ALE might be the better option.

Our first application was to be a simple one to show the business the benefit of SAP Netweaver. Itu2019s very easy to use the interfaces for SEARCH, RESULTSET, ITEMDETAILS, MATCH and MERGE if you plan to maintain one record at a time. We would like to update many records at the same time.
Using the configuration described previously, I find that I am able to select multiple records at one time using the RESULTSET interface and the Context folder of u201CSelectedRecordsu201D but I am not able to pass multiple records at one time to the context u201CIODatau201D used by the ITEMDETAILS interface and allow my end users to see and update multiple records at one time.
If I can pass multiple records from RESULTSET to ITEMDETAILS for display and update would you please provide me with an example of how I would do this in NetWeaver Design Studio for NW CE 7.2..
If I can NOT pass multiple records from RESULTSET to ITEMDETAILS for display and update, Would I then have to write my own wrapper application to read multiple records selected using the RESULTSET interface and the develop my own UPDATE view to display and update more than one record at a time. This would be time consuming since I would also have to write my own back out procedures and validation of update procedures that already happen within ITEMDETAILS. Do you happen to have any CE application examples that show how this is done for a NW CE MDM repository that I can see? The current documentation u201CHow to Build Web Applications Using MDM Web Dynpro Components. pdfu201D falls short in the area of updating multiple records.

Bugs aside, if it's VERY noisy, that might just be the out-of-sync problem (something I'm very familiar with now).
Search the forum for "aggregate sync" and you should get some clues, if this is indeed the problem.
Short of it is, you need to sync the two devices together. Easiest way seems to be to connect the two devices via S/PDIF and set Clock Source to S/PDIF for the "slave" device (set in Audio Midi).
You can also just set the Clock Source as the "master" device in the drop down, bypassing the need for the S/PDIF cable altogether, but I haven't tried this myself.
