Creation of Material from SAP VIEW using CDESK.

Hi Experts,
I have one question related to creation of Material from SAP View.
CAD file created say SM1000.prt
Create DIR in CAD View say SM1000
Scenario 1 :   Create Material in Background from CAD VIEW or SAP VIEW from cad desktop, It creates material SM1000
                           in background.
Scenario 2 : Open CDESK ( Transaction)
                        Click on OPEN,
                        Selecting the DIR created SM1000
                        Create the material in background in SAP View, it gives message " enter material number"
Why am not able to create the material from SAP view using CAD Desktop. If any modifications needs to be done in CDESK CUS to solve this please let me know.

Hi Sudharshan,
maybe the reason for this is that your CAD applications provides a special material number and the customizing in CDESK is defined to use this number. In this case the number or value can by provided from the CAD application only from the CAD View.
In the SAP view the material gets created like in MM01 for example and so mabye you have to enter a material number.

Therefore we defined in the customizing of CAD Desktop that in case of
creation of material MARA-GEWEI determination type = constant and
determination parameter is "ST" for "piece"
Every other parameter works fine during creation of material ==> as soon as
we fill a weight into the corresponding fields SAP tells us a message
"ENTER the unit of weight for the net weight" ==> if you press "continue action then" SAP ends creation of material an nothing happens....
ANY ideas?

Also check in cdesk_cus under create material

Extracting Data from SAP ERP using BODI/Data Services 4.0

HI,
I am trying to extract data from SAP ERP via SAP extractors using BODI/Data Services 4.0.
I do not have my own ERP system so I am renting remote access from one of the many available on the internet.
I am able to connect BODI to the ERP system and import the extractors metadata.
The problem I am experiencing is that when I run job to extract the data I get the following error:
Vendor-supplied function module <Z_AW_RFC_READ_EXTRACTOR> not found. Ensure that you can execute the function module in SAP via transaction /nSE37.
How do I create the function? Or is the function a SAP standard function?
SAP ERP system being used is: ECC6 EHP4
User has SAP FULL and DEVELOPER authorizations.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Active Directory cn field not updated from sap HR using ldap.

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum area.
I am using the LDAP facility to create and modify Active Directory records from sap HR. Initially, the name field cn that was coming across into AD was in the format of the logical system and employee number, eg, RD4CLNT22000000711.
I then implemented the BADI HRLDAP_ATTRIBUTES which then changed this name field cn in the active directory listing to the format; surname, forename.
It works fine when I create a new user, however the problem comes when I update the persons name in the sap hr module. The data that comes across into Active Directory shows the change to the persons surname sn, forename and displayname fields is there but the cn field is still showing as the previous name.
In short, when a new user is created, the cn field in active directory is correct
(surname, forename) but when the employees name is modified, that change is not brought across to the cn field even though the surname, forename and displayname fields are updated correctlyon AD.
We are on release 4.70.
Anyway, if anyone could help I would be very grateful.

The problem it is causing us is that the cn field is incorrect and does not mirror the change in sap HR, therefore the Active Directory entry for the employee is not totally accurate.
When an employee changes their name in SAP HR - usually their surname, we would then want to update the employees active directory account to show this change and this includes the cn field also. At the moment the firstname, lastname fields do get updated with the change so we would want the cn field to show this as well otherwise the cn field would be incorrect and not match up with the employee's AD firstname & lastname fields.

MM11-Schedule Creation of Material: Missing MM views & custom fields?

I am trying to implement use of transaction MM11/MM12/MM13, but I noticed that when I go to create or change material records I do not get the same mm views when I use MM01/MM02. (ex. i am missing classification view when trying to use mm11). I also do not get any of the custom fields that my company added to the material master? Any ideas where in IMG I can correct this?

Hi Abdul,
have you tried to import the data via Import Data (System Administration --> Import and Export Tools --> Import Data).
Also did you use the correct template; to access the correct template, please follow these steps:
Go to Import Data
Insert a dummy .xls file
From the dropdown list, choose Materials
On the next screen, download the template.csv file
Populate the fields as required on that spreadsheet
Repeat the import.

Adobe from is integraated with R/3 just like smartform.
So if u use any DDIC tabel field which have inbuilt search help then it will automatically intergrated with Adobe form.
If not then u have to make at ztable via foreign key or via FM at program level.

STPPOD triggered sending wrong material from SAP to SNC

Our process behave in this way when we receive a goods into our R/3, Proof of Delivery sent to SNC to update them that we have receipt the goods. And our system has setup in a way that only certain material and vendor are require to send GR feedback to SNC. For some reason, our system will send IDOC of every inbound delivery (include all kinds of materials and vendors) to SNC whenever an inbound doc is created. This cause wrong update of Proof of delivery to SNC of un-related inbound document (i.e. unrelated vendor/Material).
I am wondering if the error cuased by the current setup of inbound delivery output type table in MN24 in which we only put in Delivery Type ==> "EL", Funct ==>"VN", Partner ==> empty , Medium = A, Date/Time = 4, "Language = EN? This cause all inbound doc with EL will have OPOD get triggered?
Or is it my current WE20 setup?
A - Partner Type LS
Partner No. = PI Production,
Partner Type =LS (concist of STPPOD as message type) in the outbound parameter table.
B - Partner Type LI
Parnter No. = Vendor A
Partner Type =LI (concist of STPPOD as message type) in the outbound parameter table.

If you use VL31N/VL32N to send GR which means it will triggered STPPOD IDoc for which ASN is created.
Now when you do the GR using MIGO and execute RSMIPROACT again it will pick this GR to SNC because of this it will double the GR quantity in SNC.
You can use RSMIPROACT report for SMI and DR process for demand and stock information but not for GR if you are using VL31N/VL32N to send GR information to SNC.
My Question: ok if I will to remove the partner type LI setting by using A method (i.e. our initial method), may I know if I need to insert the partner no (i.e. PI production) in the MN23 output condition table?
Yes,If you are going to use LS then you need to remove LI partner type and insert the PI partner no in MN24 output table.
My Question: Previously Sandeep was suggesting using LI for the specific vendor master Number to create as partner no.in WE20, and now my system setup for MN23 include this particular vendor master No. (i.e. NOT the PI production), do you think it will solve this problem?
I am not sure whether it will work or not.
If your requirement is to automate vendor wise then it is also possible using tcode:MN24 enter ouput type OPOD and select delivery type/vendor wise enter below detail:

save the setting.
I have configure as GR update to SNC with LS partner type and it is working fine without any issues.

SQL Server license is a very complicated issue. If the tool is given to you in the package, it should be ok to use it. There is no update for the info provided in the blog although it is over 3 years.

According to your description, you fail to execute the function with timeout error after migration to SQL Server 2012. Based on my research, the issue could be due to the long running tasks or uncommitted transactions.
To troubleshoot the issue, besides Olaf's suggestion to check the connection to SQL Server 2012 instance and the stored procedure using SQL Server Management Studio(SSMS) manually, you could also follow the methods below.
1. Execute that procedure manually using SSMS and check if it takes a very long time to execute and return. For example, there could be millions of rows being updated. If it takes a long time, you can adjust the CommandTimeout accordingly.
2. Execute the following statement in SSMS to check if there are any uncommitted transactions: dbcc opentran ('yourDatabaseName'). If there are any uncommitted transactions, please change the stored procedure accordingly to commit the transactions.
