Creation of tables using JDBC or SQLJ in webdynpro application
Hi,
I am trying to create tables in javadictionary(MaxDB)using my WebDynpro application.I tried creating tables using SQLJ and JDBC.But I was not able to do it.I can select and insert data into already created tables.
Whwn I tried creating a table using JDBC I encountered the following exception.
com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException: The SQL statement "CREATE TABLE TMP_DEPID (DEPID varchar(10) NOT NULL,DEPNAME VARCHAR(25))" contains the syntax error[s]: Open SQL syntax error: CREATE ... TABLE is not supported
SQL syntax error: "VARCHAR" is a reserved keyword and cannot be used as an unquoted identifier
Does this mean that creating tables is not supported?
Can anyone help me in this matter?
Thanks in advance,
regards
~Pradeep ShettyHi Pradeep,
Yes, OpenSQL does not support creation of tables. But why would you need to create tables at runtime?! The natural way is to create the model at design time of your application, i.e. with the Java DataDictionary.
However, if for any reason you really need to create database tables at runtime, you can achieve this by using a non-OpenSQL datasource, e.g. you could create a VendorSQL one and use it to obtain JDBC connections in your app. See also http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c0/3ad4d5cdc66447a188b582aad537d3/frameset.htm.
Hope that helps!

BC SETS creation and usage for sap mm point of view
Hi All,
Need Information About BC SETS creation and usage from sap mm point of view.
Thanks in advance for sap mm forum guys.
Regards.
Parameshwar.Hi,
Customizing settings can be collected by processes into Business Configuration Sets (BC Sets). BC Sets make Customizing more transparent by documenting and analyzing the Customizing settings. They can also be used for a group rollout, where the customizing settings are bundled by the group headquarters and passed on in a structured way to its subsidiaries.
BC Sets are provided by SAP for selected industry sectors, and customers can also create their own.
When a BC Set is created, values and combinations of values are copied from the original Customizing tables into the BC Set and can be copied into in the tables, views and view clusters in the customer system. The BC Sets are always transported into the customer system in which Customizing is performed.
Advantages of using BC Sets:
1. Efficient group rollout.
2. Industry sector systems are easier to create and maintain.
3. Customizing can be performed at a business level.
4. Change Management is quicker and safer.
5. Upgrade is simpler.
To create BC sets follow the below step:
Choose Tools ® Customizing ® Business Configuration Sets® Maintenance in the SAP
menu, or enter the transaction code SCPR3 in the command field.
Choose Bus.Conf.Set ® Create. -

Extracting data from Z-table from SAP R/3 to BW
Hi all
I want to extract data from a Z-table from SAP R/3 system to Bw system. Currently I am on BW 3.5. Since it is a Z table I dont have a standard extractor for it & I dont knw how to create it. Can anyone provide me with the step-by-step documentation of how to extract data from a non standard SAP table????Hi
You need to create Generic Datasource on the Z-Table you want to get data from
Go to RSO2 transaction to create generic datasource .
You need to give technical name of datasource under datasource type you want and click on create. Then you can give descrption and Application component under which u want see the datasource,
enter the z table name under view/ table and save.
here you can click on check boxes to make fields hidden or selection fields.

Message "Creation of DataSources for SAP source system is not permitted"
Hi,
I am in DW Workbench: Modeling and I need to copy a DataSource.
It's impossible, beacause I have this Message "Creation of DataSources for SAP source system is not permitted"!
What can I do?
ThksHii.
You can not copy the standard datasource to any other source system it will not allow you to do that.
But if you want to copy you can copy it to PC FILE source system.
It will allow you to copy there.
Right click in Datasource->Copy-> Give Target datasource name -
> intarget Source system tab -
>Give Source system for File.
Thanks

Creation of Material from SAP VIEW using CDESK.
Hi Experts,
I have one question related to creation of Material from SAP View.
CAD file created say SM1000.prt
Create DIR in CAD View say SM1000
Scenario 1 : Create Material in Background from CAD VIEW or SAP VIEW from cad desktop, It creates material SM1000
in background.
Scenario 2 : Open CDESK ( Transaction)
Click on OPEN,
Selecting the DIR created SM1000
Create the material in background in SAP View, it gives message " enter material number"
Why am not able to create the material from SAP view using CAD Desktop. If any modifications needs to be done in CDESK CUS to solve this please let me know.
Thanks,
SudharshanHi Sudharshan,
maybe the reason for this is that your CAD applications provides a special material number and the customizing in CDESK is defined to use this number. In this case the number or value can by provided from the CAD application only from the CAD View.
In the SAP view the material gets created like in MM01 for example and so mabye you have to enter a material number.
Best regards,
Christoph -
Hi,
I am using SAPUI5 I installed it from following path
The
toolset can be downloaded from the SAP Service Marketplace (SMP).
Go
to https://service.sap.com ->
SAP Support Portal -> SAP Software Download Center -> Support
Packages and Patches -> A - Z index -> N -> UI ADD-ON FOR
SAP NETWEAVER -> UI ADD-ON 1.0 FOR NW 7.03 -> Support Package

SAPUI5 TOOLS IDE PLUGIN 1.00. Make sure you pick the latest version
(currently this is SPS 02).
It is implemented successfully .I have not downloaded any plugin for deployment of the UI5 app on server.
I am runnng it locally on right click of index.html on web browser.
I tried to create a table usng the following code:

But table is not getting displayed .Moreover on using ctrl+space in nnwds for code completion I m not getting classes or methods or keywords for table though in plugins its showing library for table.
Please suggest.Hi Robin,
I had removed that from my code but still the table is not getting displayed.I had done the following entry in index.html.Pl confirm if its correct or not.
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge">
<meta http-equiv='Content-Type' content='text/html;charset=UTF-8'/>
<script src="resources/sap-ui-core.js"
id="sap-ui-bootstrap"
data-sap-ui-libs="sap.ui.commons"
data-sap-ui-libs="sap.ui.table"
data-sap-ui-theme="sap_bluecrystal">
</script>
In view I had written the following code for table display:
createContent : function(oController) {
var button = new sap.ui.commons.Button({ "text": "my button" });
return button;
jQuery.sap.require("sap.ui.table.Table");
// create table control with properties
var oTable = new sap.ui.table.Table({
width : "100%",
rowHeight : 50,
title : "List of Products",
selectionMode : sap.ui.table.SelectionMode.None
oTable.addColumn(new sap.ui.table.Column({
label : new sap.ui.commons.Label({
text : "Product Name"
template : new sap.ui.commons.TextView({
text : "{Name}"
sortProperty : "Name"

Extracting Values of a Field from a Database Table in SAP ECC System
Hi,
I downloaded Extracting Values of a Field from a Database Table in SAP ECC System Using MII 12.0
senario from sdn. I'm trying to do that senario in MII 12.05. But I have problem with section 6 in page 7 (you can supply senario from sdn)
"6- Under the loop of Repeater, use action u2018Rowu2019 to append just the string part of the WA which will display only values for field u2018Batchu2019"
I did not find WA elemen in Output element of Repeater_0
How can I create WA element?
Thanks.Cemil,
Set up a SAP JCo Interface action block. Use the RFC name RFC_READ_TABLE.
In the link editor map the table to "MARA", set RowCount to something small (20 is good sample size) and create an xml transaction property named FIELDS and copy the following into it:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><FIELDS>
<item>
<FIELDNAME>MATNR</FIELDNAME>
<OFFSET/>
<LENGTH/>
<TYPE/>
<FIELDTEXT/>
</item>
<item>
<FIELDNAME>MTART</FIELDNAME>
<OFFSET/>
<LENGTH/>
<TYPE/>
<FIELDTEXT/>
</item>
<item>
<FIELDNAME>BSTME</FIELDNAME>
<OFFSET/>
<LENGTH/>
<TYPE/>
<FIELDTEXT/>
</item>
<item>
<FIELDNAME>XCHPF</FIELDNAME>
<OFFSET/>
<LENGTH/>
<TYPE/>
<FIELDTEXT/>
</item>
<item>
<FIELDNAME>DATAB</FIELDNAME>
<OFFSET/>
<LENGTH/>
<TYPE/>
<FIELDTEXT/>
</item>
</FIELDS>
Then link the Transaction.FIELDS to SAP_JCo_Interface_0.Request{/RFC_READ_TABLE/TABLES/FIELDS}. You may run into problems with two other fields and optionally they can be removed (set link type to remove xml). I usually remove them initially for testing. The two fields are:
SAP_JCo_Interface_0.Request{/RFC_READ_TABLE/INPUT/NO_DATA}
SAP_JCo_Interface_0.Request{/RFC_READ_TABLE/INPUT/DELIMITER} (or you can set this to something like a semicolon,";" or tilda,"~". I find it easier to caclulate position by length, but that is my own idiosyncrasy.)
Once you get this one working, we can explore how to do filtering on the dataset. Your output should be something like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RFC_READ_TABLE>
<INPUT>
<DELIMITER />
<NO_DATA />
<QUERY_TABLE>MARA</QUERY_TABLE>
<ROWCOUNT>20</ROWCOUNT>
<ROWSKIPS>0</ROWSKIPS>
</INPUT>

Add a repeater sourced on:
SAP_JCo_Interface_0.Response{/RFC_READ_TABLE/TABLES/DATA/item}
Link your repeater output to a tracer with this:
Repeater_0.Output{/item/WA}
What you will see in each tracer message is a single line of data with all the fields contents concatenated together. You can look up what each field in the string represents by the length of the field as returned in the Response segment of the RFC_READ_TABLE rfc. Then you can parse out the data you are interested in.
Give this a try and let me know how you succeeded.
By the way, I could not find the scenario you referred to. Can you post a link?
Regards,
Mike
