Creative Cloud fails to see installed apps

I have installed Creative Cloud in a non-standard way.  I install the applications on a separate drive from the operating system (and indeed where Adobe insists that Creative Cloud installs itself), this is done for all of my applications as it means that, usually, a re-install of the operating system for whatever reason doesn't require re-downloading and installing everything again.
Recently the C drive failed completely and had to be replaced.  All of the CC (2014 versions) applications still exit and can still be launched from the drive they were installed on, but the CC application itself fails to see the installed app's.
I've tried changing the installation folder to the one where they all are;  changing the language;  signing in and out after each action;  and deleting/renaming the file in the OOBE folder.
So, two questions :
Why does CC not have an installation path other than C drive?  There is nothing in it that requires it be there.
How do I make CC "see" all of the applications that are already installed?  (N.B. deleting the folders and re-downloading isn't a solution, it's a work-around that is clumsy and stupid, putting the entire onus on the customer)
Finally, am I the only one who finds the CC launcher to be the biggest PITA of the new version of CS?  Every other version I've used worked and updated faultlessly, the latest version just seems to be an absolute mess.

The install info is stored in the opm.db and caps.db files and those went down the drain with your system drive. There is no way to restore it without reinstalling. The rest is not worth debating. Things just are as they are.

  • Creative Cloud is not acknowledging installed apps, is there a solution?

Creative Cloud is not acknowledging installed apps since the upgrade, all I am seeing is "install" or "try" buttons even for the apps already on my system. Nothing under "installed apps"
    I tried this:

but no luck. Everything is in the default locations. Is there a solution?

  • How do I fix Creative Cloud to show ALL my apps that I have installed ?

    Here my specs : Windows 7 Pro 64 bit ● 10GB DDR3 RAM ● Intel Core i7 ● AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series
    Here my story :
One day, little Creative Cloud said it had an update to be installed on itself. Possibly taking it from version 1.7 to 2.0 or something. I clicked on update. Creative Cloud started downloading and once it was done it said update complete. I clicked on finish or something. Once that happened, it disappeared completely. Gone from taskbar, Window closed and shortcut gone ! I looked into the Creative Cloud folder, in the Adobe folder and there were two folders : Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Creative Cloud_2.7.0.413. I then went into the Adobe Creative Cloud folder and double opened the application therein. It opened the Creative Cloud desktop app BUT showed it had an update just as before for itself. I AGAIN clicked on update, and then it said "Error 50" , unable to update. I searched around and somewhere on the forums it said I must download adobe cloud and reinstall it. I did that and ever since that dreadful day, little Creative Cloud desktop app doesn't want to show ALL my installed apps anymore. It simply shows only 2 !
This is what I have : Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash Professional, Media Encoder, Fireworks. What it only shows in Creative Cloud desktop app : Flash Professional, Dreamweaver.
    What I tried doing :
1.) Re-installing the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app.
2.) Changing the directory settings for APPS and pointing them to the actual location of the installed apps.
3.) Deleting or renaming the "opm.db" file.
    4.) YES, I RESTARTED MY PC !!!
What I want to do :
1.) Receive a fix that will make ALL my installed apps show.
2.) Find out what the hell the difference is between the concept of having TWO versions of the same program installed BUT getting updates for BOTH like "Adobe Photoshop CC" and "Adobe Photoshop CC 2014". I installed the Adobe Photoshop CC this year almost 2 months ago for example. Then CC told me there is an app update and that got me Adobe Photoshop CC 2014. Now I have two versions of the above listed programs... Why doesn't CC just UPDATE the Adobe Photoshop CC, rename and list ONLY Adobe Photoshop CC 2014 in the end ?
What I do not want : RE-DOWNLOAD OR RE-INSTALL ALL MY INSTALLED APPS ! This not only will cost me a lot of internet bandwidth but also a considerable amount of time. There must be a simple fix as all files are in place ! I can launch all apps individually and they are working both the "" versions and the 2014 ones.
My question : How do I fix Creative Cloud to show ALL my apps that I have installed ?

    Hi alextz11,
The email in the forum does not reflect any Creative Cloud order. Please follow the steps in
Locate the C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE directory and rename it to OOBE_OLD
Download and reinstall the Creative Cloud Application from https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.
You can also consult : http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html
    Hope it helps your issue.

  • Install Adobe Photoshop CS6 after Creative Cloud failed...

When I start my Adobe Photoshop, I alwasy get asked to reactivate my abonnement even if I bought a CS6 Version with a Serialnumber... This product is registrated in my Adobe Acount. What can I do to use my Adobe Photoshop with my serialkey instead with Creative Cloud.... (I used the Removal Tool from Adobe to remove my Creative Cloud Applications bevor I installed the CS6 Adobe Photoshop without Creative Cloud..)

Claudias31518194 what specific error do you receive them you open Photoshop CS6?  Did you previously evaluate the Creative Cloud version of Photoshop?  If so I would recommend removing all installed Adobe Creative software titles and reinstalling the versions you plan to continue using.
Without doing so you may still have upgraded components installed which could lead to unexpected results similar to the repeated request to activate.  You can find details regarding the uninstall process at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.
If you need a fresh copy of the retail installation files for Creative Suite 6 they are available at Download CS6 products.

  • Purchased Creative Cloud, deployed it, clicked "Install.pkg" and received "The Installation Failed" message.  What now?

Purchased Creative Cloud, deployed it, clicked "Install.pkg" and received "The Installation Failed" message.
I am installing on a MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.8.
    What now?

This is how we resolved it. Used a 32GB Flash Drive formatted the drive HFS+ and then copied the PKG folder and files and then brought them to the target Mac and copied the files over and ran the PKG and Exceptions install. Everything seems to be installing fine now.

  • Adobe creative cloud set up to install on a mac with parallels windows 8

Unfortunately it is not possible to install the program it always displays an error message. how can you loess the problem?
error message: This application can not be run from a network drive-. copy it to a local folder and strarten it again.

I have just the regular version, not Professional.
I mean "les integrated", in the sense that you really run Fusion "in a window". The more "integrated" approach means that Windows applications run as if they were for the Mac, and you do not see the Windows interface at all. I personnaly think tjat is too confusing. There is nothing wrong with it, just a bit more confusing. i like having it clear that Windows is in a seperate Window.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud Console 2014 shows INSTALL instead of UPDATE next to installed CC2014 software

From a "STRANGE SITUATION" issue discussed in: RANT: cloud re-install    ("strange situation")
I hoped that the Adobe Creative Cloud Console displayed an update with a fix for a problem I had.
When I open Adobe Creative Cloud it displays an INSTALL button next to ALL my already installed CC2014 versions (except Animate and Muse for some reason)
Clicking on the INSTALL next to PhotoshopCC2014 starts the slow 1.xxxGB download of the full PhotoshopCC2014 from scratch.
    Restart did not help
With the CC (CC2013/CC1??) role-out I manually downloaded the installs to not have to download 8GB of installs on multiple workstations - when the CC2014 role-out came it was not clear if this was a complete new version or an update (since Adobe had decided to re-invent naming conventions or to copy Autodesk), so I did not download the installs to a location I have control over. The announcement of the CC2014 (CC2) "update" sounded a lot like the language for previous updates and new feature announcements of the CC version (or was it CC1 or CC2013)
I'll "re-install" all my CC2014 apps when I go home tonight.
Unluckily this means a lot of unnecessary bandwidth usage since all my CC2014 apps are still working.

You are now chatting with 'Fazal'
Fazal: Hello! Welcome to Adobe Customer Service.
    Fazal: Hi Jaco.
    jaco: hi
Fazal: Could you please elaborate the issue?
jaco: accc (adobe creative cloud console) wanted to update today - once it updated most of my CC2014 apps showed an INSTALL button instead of an UPDATE button next to them
jaco: which means I won't be able to update until I press the INSTALL button - which re-downloads and re-installs all those apps
Fazal: Just to confirm may I know if you are unable to locate the Update button next to the applications ?
jaco: I should have downloaded my Installs and installed manually as I did with CC2013/CC01 - because now I have to download 8GB+ of data
jaco: what do you mean not locate - it is not a messy room
Fazal: Since you have reach the Customer Support, I request you to please contact technical support to fix this issue.
jaco: the button said INSTALL when CC2014 became available and after I installed the softw. it showed UPDATE if an update was available or up to date with a green arrow
Fazal: In this case I request you to please contact our technical team to resolve the issue.
jaco: now they all say INSTALL again - although they work and are installed
jaco: well this was a waste of time
Fazal: I am sorry Jaco, I request you to please contact us via Phone support.
Fazal: I will provide the phone number to contact our technical team.
    jaco: Thanks
    Fazal: You're welcome.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop Won't Install Issues on Mac OS X 10.8.4

I recently upgraded from CS6 to CC.  First round of installs no problem.  A week later there were a few updates including the CC Destop App and this is where the fun begins.   I installed the updates and immediately after I noticed it was only showing I had 3 apps installed when I have several.  I tried uninstalling the CC Desktop app and re-installing it but I can't get it to install.  Every time I try it just says you have an "unknown error".  I called Adobe's awesome support to which we ran throught diganostics only at the end to tell me they are having issues and to call back later.  I have been all over the forums and have yet to find a solution, nothing works (Including runing the cloud cleaner and renaming the OOBE file).
I am running OS X 10.8.4 any other suggestions or help will be much appreciated

Romsinha! Thank you! I was having this problem and your instructions helped solve the issue.
    Hi iChrisChatt,
    Please try the mentioned steps:
    1. Navigate to Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installer and look for CC desktop, if present run the uninstaller to uninstall it.
    2. Navigate to Applications/Utilities and look for Adobe Application Manager folder and Creative cloud folder. If present move to trash and empty it.
    3. Navigate to Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE and rename to OOBE.old
    4. Download CC desktop from: https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and try to install again.

  • Installed then removed Acrobat but Creative Cloud says its still installed so I can't install it again.

I've seen issues with precloud subs in CC but not with an app that was a CC download.
Just like the subject says, "Installed then removed Acrobat but Creative Cloud says its still installed so I can't install it again."
How do I get CC to recognize that acrobat isn't on my computer so I can download it again?
    thanks,
