Credit Limit on basis by specific product

Dear Experts,
Could you please suggest me any body how to maintain credit limit by specific material (Product).
Let say Customer Pepsi has 3 products i.e X,Y and Z....pepsi (customer) has credit limit 100 USD. Here the customer credit limit is 100 usd but this customer has that credit limit by product wise that is:
X Product 30 usd
Y Product 50 usd
Z Product 20 USD
When they are creating they wont cross credit limit by product wise even though the customer has credit limit if X product credit limit 20 usd exceeded. Could you please suggest me how to maintain this scenario.
Thanks in advance,
VS

Workaround is:
1) Create three different credit control areas.
2) Assign the three different credit control areas to the respective sales areas.
3) Maintain different credit limits for the customer in the individual credit control areas.
4) Whenever the order is created in the respective sales area the credit limit for that particular sales area will come into picture.
Assumption is that three different materials belong to three different divisions so that the sales area is differing. Because of different sales area you can assign different credit control areas.
Regards,
GSL.

If you want credit check to be executed only for specific materials, you can classify these materials using soem fields like material group.
Then you can enable your custom credit check in OVA8 in the last 3 checkboxes given for custom made credit check.
Other way can be through user exits meant for credit check. Some of the user exits pertaining to credit mngt are

  • How to stop/deactivate CLC (Credit Limit Check) functionalities for specific country

    Dear Experts,
We are working in TM 8.1 which is integrated with ERP system. Currently we do not have any restriction at TM system level to stop processing the order if CLC limit is exceeding. But we are in process of adapting the same with TM 9.1 version.
Now, we are in process of upgrading our ERP system and going pilot live for one country initially. We no more want to process the orders/invoices for which CLC limit is exceeding in the latest ERP system for live country for some time. Therefore our business wanted to deactivate or stop the CLC functionalities for specific country or sales organization within TM system, so that statistical record (Internal order) can not be created in ERP. Thus further processing can not be done in ERP.
Could you please provide some important insights how to achieve the expected?
    Thanks,
    Bharath.

    Dear Dawson,
    Thanks for your reply.
I have done the required analysis and arrive at below solution.
Prior to that answering to your question, we are sending CLC to ERP upon activation of FWO. We have a customer specific button 'ACTIVATE' on every FWO UI. Entering CLC amount in Business partner tab is pre-requisite for successful activation of FWO.
Coming to my solution which I have proposed: For sending the CLC to ERP, we have configured a PPF action definition with schedule condition and processing method call. Currently this PPF action definition is executed successfully upon activation of FWO for all.
Here we will put a IF condition on sales organization / country for which we do not want to trigger this action, then if it is satisfied with our expected values we will stop further execution. This way we can avoid action triggering. ( I had already checked in debugging and confirmed the behavior).
I believe, my solution is correct.
Please advice if any other better way of doing it.
    Thanks,
    Bharath.

    hello, friend.
credit management focuses on the customer.  credit info centers on the customer/credit account.  materials are not directly controlled by credit management.
however, it is possible to do credit management per material by assigning different divisions to your materials.  then, you define and assign different credit control areas to your sales areas.  indirectly, materials can then be controlled by the different credit control areas.  you can have different credit limits for a customer pre credit control area, all controlled in turn by a central credit limit (total).
however, this is not recommended as it complicates your credit management.  it may also pose problems in your sales order processing, despite the ability to process several divisions in the same document.
    regards.

  • Product wise credit limit

My requirment is that how can we maintain Product credit material
As we wants to keep a seperate credit  limit for one material out of 100 in same sales area and same group. and for same customer ?
This is business requirmetn as we need to put these materila at distrebuter location as on credit basis in controld maner.
Please help as it is an ergent requirement.
    regards Ajit

If your supplier is selling you some product, and then you are selling it to consumers do your consumers need credit limits, as they would pay via PoS.
If you want to report on what has been sold, this should be achieved via sales reporting
If you want to see how much a customer's credit exposure is made up from a particular product, again, this would need to be done via some reporting, against credit exposure.
Please can you detail the actual industry, and the issue it is very vague.

  • Billing - Representing the customer's credit limit and premitted products

    Dear All,
We intend  to implement SAP CRM billing model in our system.
Currently we have 2 fundamental  questions we need to solve:
    1)  How to represent the customer credit limit.
2 ) What is the best way to indicate his permitted products
As we operate in the energy and gas industry. An example for usage scenario might be :
The customer can use euro un-leaded fuel up to daily limit of 50 Liters,
and up to a monthly limit of 1000 Liters.
He can also buy 3 specific motor oils types with his loyalty card.
We need a standard way to represent those restrictions our system,
later the billing model will  have to take them into account.
    Please Advice.
    Thank You,
    David Tal

    Dear Debashish
As per my understanding, this is because the credit limit check is always applicable at 2 levels only i.e. Sales Order and Delivery.
u r talking about Open Billing Doc and Open Items, but this is also covered within Open Sales Orders and Deliveries, isn't it?
    Hope this will help u.

  • Credit Limit Check - Exclude Specific Documents / Credits from Exposure

    Hi,
I would like to know if it's possible to exclude specific document types (credits) from the credit exposure calculation used during credit limit checks.
The ideia is to exclude "DG" credits in customer GL that are related to Trade Deal/Agreements to avoid over-exposure.
    Let me explain:
Currently, our credit management is configured to "Static" + "Open Items" for all credit groups in the CCA. Therefore, SAP calculates the credit exposure as:
              CE = OPEN ORDERS (S066) + OPEN DELIVERIES (S067) + OPEN BILLING (S067) + OPEN ITEMS (BSID)
Regarding "Open Items", I understand that SAP calculates the net value between all debits (receivables) and credits (returns, overpayments, etc...) already posted and not cleared in the Customer GL account. This rationale is correct since the credits are due to the customers and should be deducted from their exposure (i.e. "you may not pay them if you don't receive").
However, in our case, we also pay trade deals contracts (i.e. trade incentives and trade marketing investments) directly to costumers and apart from sales orders or credit memos. The flow is the following: (1) contracts are managed on a satelite system and interfaced to SAP; (2) contracts are created in the costumer GL as a credit (doc. type "DG"); (3) credits are sent to accounts payable for payment via F110.
Problem is that, contract credits volume is significant and are impacting customers credit exposure and limit check, resulting in greater exposure than allowed. That is, orders are being released while contract credits are open in the customer GL up to the max exposure, but when contracts are paid the exposure goes above the limit. For example:
    Day 1:
              Costumer Credit Limit: 100
              Sales Balance: 30
              Open Itens: 50 (receivables: 70 / contracts: -20)
              Credit Exposure: 80/100
    Day 2:
              Costumer Credit Limit: 100
              Sales Balance: 50
              Open Itens: 50 (receivables: 70 / contracts: -20)
Credit Exposure: 100/100 (no additional orders are released)
    Day 3:
              Costumer Credit Limit: 100
              Sales Balance: 50
Open Itens: 70 (receivables: 70 / contracts: 0 - contracts are paid on day 3)
Credit Exposure: 120/100 (exposure is above customer limit since contracts that were being deducted were paid)
Any ideas or thoughts? Is something wrong in the explanation above? Should contracts credits be treated through special GL?
    Many thanks!

  • Credit Limit by Product (Sales Area)

    Dear Experts,
I have to maintain credit limit by Product. Thatu2019s why am maintaining credit controls for sales areas. Because every Product has different individual sales area. Please see below detail explanation.
Our credit control area for customer: 1000 (This credit control to maintain credit limit for customer)
We have 3 sales areas i.e:
1200 AB A1 u2013 (for this sales area product is Chemical)
1200 AB A2 - (for this sales area product is Petrol)
1200 AB A3 - (for this sales area product is Diesel)
So like above products client want to maintain credit limit by Product.
Business scenario is customer 90000123 has credit limit 100 MIL USD
This customer has sales with above 3 products. So we want to maintain (divide) 100 Mil USD credit limit by product that is for Chemical credit limit 30 Mil USD and Petrol credit limit 40 Mil USD and Diesel credit limit 30 Mil USD.
So, I want to maintain credit controls by Product so I created credit controls for 3 products i.e
    1001 u2013 Cr.contro alre for 1200 AB A1 Sales area
    1002 - Cr.contro alre for 1200 AB A2 Sales area
    1003 - Cr.contro alre for 1200 AB A3 Sales area
I have assigned above credit control areas to the particular sales area and maintained credit limit for every credit control area as per above with same customer.
Like 1000 u2013CCA for customer 90000123 (Maintained 100 mil USD)
1001 u2013 CCA for 1200 AB A1 Sales area (Maintained 30 Mil USD with above customer)
1002 u2013 CCA for 1200 AB A2 Sales area (Maintained 40 Mil USD with above customer)
1003 - CCA for 1200 AB A2 Sales area (Maintained 40 Mil USD with above customer)
Whenever I create sales order with the above customer for 1200 AB A1 Sales area (Chemical Product) with 5 Mil USD after that the customer credit limit should be 95 Mil USD here the CCA is 1000 and 1001 Credit control area cr. Limit supposed to 25 mil USD) But I couldnu2019t get like this. I am suspecting this scenario is correct or not. If this scenario is correct. Pls suggest me where I did mistake what I have to do. If this scenario is wrong pls suggest me how to maintain credit limit by sales area.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vasu

    Dear Vasu,
try to Create the SO with Value above 30 ML. If System not block the Order than you have to check the Configuration.

You need to wait 1-2 weeks, not days. They have to assist a large number of customers and they are not as big a team as the customer service people. My Cap One card started as a Plat with $500 limit a little more than 2 years ago and now it is at $8k and upgraded to a QuickSilver. Also as others mentioned, you can use the new "Combine cards" tool to combine your multiple small limit cards to a larger, more useful limit.

  • Payment/Credit Limit for Vendors

    Hi SAP Gurus!
Is it possible to impose a maximum payment/credit limit for Vendors in SAP?
I saw in this forums that it can be done through Contracts but in the contracts, you have to enter a material. Is it possible that you don't have a material and the contract will encompass all the transactions of the vendor?\
Hope to hear from you soon!
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    You can make use of following Features of Contract w/o materials;
    Item Categories in Contracts: -
Just as with purchase orders, you can enter an item category to define the item as an external service item, a consignment item, a subcontracting item or as a free-form text item.
    Item Category M (Material Unknown)
Item category M is for entering contract items without specifying the material number.
Item category M is recommended for similar materials with the same price but with differing material numbers.
    Example
Consider a contract item for different types of office paper. The various types of paper have the same weight, quality, and price. However, they differ in the following respects: One type is lined, another is unlined, and another has two holes on the left side for filing purposes.
How Do You Use Item Category M?
In the case of items of category M, you enter the short text (short description), target quantity, unit of measure, and price. As soon as a contract release order is created, the material number or a short text is entered (e.g. the exact type of paper, say, two-hole punched). The system determines the net price on the basis of the gross price entered, less any discounts.
    Item Category W (Material Group)
Item category W allows you to enter a material group without entering the value or quantity of the contract item. Item category W is for value contracts only.
    Example
Consider a contract for cable. The contract covers every type of cable on the vendor's price list. The exact type of cable is known only at the time a specific cable is ordered.
Instead of entering an item for every type of cable the vendor is able to supply, you could enter item category W and the material group (say, CABLE). The short text would indicate that the contract item covers all types of cable supplied by the vendor.
Each release order issued against this contract would then specify the actual type and quantity of cable (for example, double-shielded coax, 1 spool) as well as the price.
How Do You Use Item Category W?
When you create the contract item, enter the item category W, the short text, and the material group. You do not enter a price or conditions for the item. However, it is possible to specify conditions in the document header. For example, you can enter a discount in the header conditions if the vendor grants a discount on all Pos relating to the contract. The discount is automatically taken into account when the release order is created.
You can enter a material number in the contract release order. The corresponding material master record must be assigned to the same material group specified in the referenced contract item. If the release order does not have a material number, then it must contain a valid account assignment, such as a cost center.

  • Credit limit,discount

    1. How can we assign one credit limit to two customers?
    2. I want to give discount on a particular item, if a specific item is purchased. i.e., for ex: if a TV set was purchased, and a DVD player also purchased by the customer, i want to give disount on the DVD player. How to set the price condition for this scenario

    hi
for u r second question use the bonus buy functioonality
A TV set costs Rs.25000/- & a DVD player costs Rs.6500/-. If a customer is buying any one of the products then, he/she will have to pay as per the price mention.
In BONUS BUY what happens you are luring the customer to buy more products. So now when a customer buys a TV SET and if he/she is buying a DVD palyer also then, the DVD player will cost Rs.4000/-. So the customer payed Rs.2500/- less on the total amount of both the products. This is the basic explanation of Bonus Buy.

  • Does Simple Credit Limit Check Include Checking for Open Orders

    Hi all,
I have this issue here where I have configured the system to use simple credit limit check with error message. I did not use the standard/common automatic credit limit check since user insist on a pop-up warning and that the order could not be saved. But, I realized that it does not take open orders into account too although I have set the risk categories. Is it true and what solution is there for this issue then.

    Hi,
Please follow the below configuration settings for Simple credit check process.
Simple credit check: In simple credit check the system compares the credit exposure with payers credit limit. The
credit exposure results from the total of the net document value and the value of the open items.
