Appraisal form doesn't open in new window
Hi Guru's,
We are using the BSP application HAP_Document. For the employee we use the "page with flow logic" (SE80) documents_receives_open2.html. This gives an overview of open appraisals.
Our problem is, that when an employee clicks on the link to an appraisal form, that the form opens in the same frame. It should open in a new window.
Hope you can tell me how we can adjust this.
Thanks!
MarcoHope you've set the option 'Open In New Window' in BSP iView properties.
Also check that In homepage config. for resource which calls this application.For url for pcd page
Replace roles with exroles for e.g. exroles://portal......
This two suggestions solve you issue,

Adobe form opened in separete window
Hi all
We developed an AWD application which contains an Interactive form element.
When we execute the application via SAP GUI (Right click -> Test on application) everything is OK and the adobe form appears embedded in the browser.
If we copy the path of application and paste it on address bar of browser (if we don't execute it via SAP GUI) the adobe section of screen will open in separate window (won't be embedded into the application).
Please advice.
Thanks in advanceHi...
It means, when we test the application, it is displaying adobe in new window.
Form GUI if you test, it will create one window, and displays the same in that window.
And the same application if you paste it in other browser window, internally it will again trigger one window, in that window it will display the adobe.
Hope you understand a bit concept at least .
Am unable to explain clearly with words.

Forms runtime window fails to open successfully
Hi all, I have a user who cannot seem to get her Forms window to open correctly. She logs into Oracle. Selects the responsibility, selects the form she needs to open.
The middle window opens and the Forms Runtime window opens. However this Forms window never pppulates. It remains a blank screen.
I have cleared her jar cache and cookies and re-installed JInitiator too.
Nothing seems to work.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.Hi,
What is the application release?
Do you have any pop-up blocker installed on this machine? If yes, disable all and check then.
Can you find any errors in Jinitiator Console Window? Any error in Apache log files (error_log and access_log)?
What if the same user from some other machine, is she able to open the form?
If none of the above helps, enable trace and see if you get more details about the issue.

Open form in new windows from another form
hi,
I have module for departments, and one for employees
and I have push botton, I need when_button_pressed to open form employees in new window ( to view the employees in that department)
I used this code
open_form('Employees')
but it gives me an error: FRM-30203: No items on block EMPLOYEES.
FRM-30407: Block must have at least one database item.
Block: EMPLOYEES
FRM-30113: Block must have non-query-only database item.
Block: EMPLOYEES
Created form file C:\Users\m\Desktop\New Folder\MODULE1.fmx
and when I click the button I get error FRM-40010 cannot read from employees
any help would be appreciatedbut I created new module for employeesOk, so make sure that this new module contains a block EMPLOYEES, save the module as EMPLOYEE.fmb and create the fmx. Make sure the fmx is created and is located in a directory listed in the FORMS_PATH in your default.env (assuming you use 10G)

How to open WD- Adobe form open in new window -without Portal header
Hi,
In my WD application -MAINVIEW , I made 2 different groups under ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER
GROUP1 -Selection fields with search button - with ROW LAYOUT
GROUP2 -INTERACTIVE FORM - with FLOW Layout
Basically when we click the Search button I get the form in the same view underneath GROUP1.
I am calling this WD application in Portal by giving the hyperlink via BSP application.So when they run the WD application now With portal headers it is still becomming heightwise small area.
Is there a way with which we can open form in completely new window without the Portal Headers?
Rgds
Varayes.. you can launch the form from a selection screen into a new window...
I am using this to launch an editable PDF from a selection screen into a new window. This code is placed on the event handler of my Create button on the selection screen.

You have to be aware, though, that you will lose ALL your context data b/c you are opening a new user session. That's why I had to use url parameters to pass data to my form. -
WebUtil within Oracle Forms (Find File - Open File Dialog Window)
I have successfully configured WebUtil and I can successfully execute the functions. I have been working with PKG_FIND_FILE.Selection function (which displays an Open File Dialog Window).
I cannot figure out why the following is occurring:
When I call the above function, the system typically displays an older dialog window (light blue / gray) window. For a brief time, we were able to bring up the "Windows looking" dialog window. I don't know what we changed in the configuration, but it is now back to the older looking light blue/gray dialog window.
Any ideas on where in the configuration, this would cause the dialog window to switch its "look and feel"
Thanks,
MikeFile dialog look has been changed because of the java version difference.
In Java 1.4 the look is different and 1.5 shows another way.
So check which java plugin and the version of the java
( go to control panel->settings -> click on java and check on version)

Opening New Browser window for click event on an image
hi all,
I want someone to help me out solving the problem of opening
a new browser window on the mouse click event of an image or a
button etc.... The new window would contain the datagrid details
from the main window, but in an expanded form. If at all there is a
solution, I even want to know whether there is anyway for sizing
the poped up window,because I dont want the new poped up window to
cover the entire screen.
For getting better idea of my problem, the best example I
could give is the popup window that appears when we click on the
preview button while posting the message to the forum.
Someone please do help me out in this regard.
Thanks,
amar.I'd definitely try to use a Flex popup... but the
flash.net.navigateToURL method is a simple way to open a popup
window in a new browser. You can pass any data needed by the new
page using the URLRequest and/or URLVariables. The URL you navigate
to could, of course, be another Flex application if necessary. I
use this only when I need to open a popup window on another site,
or an HTML formatter report or something similar.
Concerning yourself with the size of the popup window may be
a bad design choice also. I, for example, have my browser
configured to open all popups in a new tab regardless of sizing
constraints imposed by the designer. If it is absolutely necessary
for you to have control over the size of your popup window, you
should follow the advice given by others and use a Flex
popup. -
DW CS4 Help with jump menu opening a new window.
First, I can't believe that Adobe left out an easy to use behavior to do this.
I have some jump menus, and I would like the selection to open up a new window and have the content appear there. I saw a couple of old topics here that offered some suggestions, but they didn't work for me. I could get it to open a new window, but the content was not there. I saw where you need to add a "GO" button, and add a "Open New Window"behavior to it. That is what opened the new window with new content. I do not have the "GO" buttons on the jump menus in this code, but did try it and it didn't work. If anyone can help and tell me how to do it, and where to place the code, I would greatly appreciate it.
I know this is long, but here is my code for the page.

<!-- InstanceEnd --></html>I'm confused by your post and code. Adobe has a function to do this. In the Insert Toolbar under the Tab "Forms" there is an option to create a jump menu. The only options that menu gives you is the same window or a frame on the page (a very outdated action looking at it now). But with basic knowledge of links you insert the menu and you will get code like:
<select name="jumpMenu" id="jumpMenu" onChange="MM_jumpMenu('parent',this,0)">
The "parent" denotes that this will open in the same window. If you change that to "blank" then it will open in a new window. A "Go" button is optional and also available in the DW GUI when you set up a jump menu.

Which version of the JInitiator are you using. In any case, your HTML must specify the correct classid and version in the HTML section for IE as well as the HTML section for Netscape.

Open form - close form problem
Hi. Using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3., ADF BC.
Simple, yet not so simple problem: I have two forms, Main and Detail (JFrame). Main form has menu item which I use to open Detail form:
try {
FormDetail frmDetail = new FormDetail();
frmDetail.setBindingContext(panelBinding.getBindingContext());
// center jframe, visible = true
showNewForm(frmDetail);
} catch (Exception ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
} finally {
I want to create new instance every time I show Detail form. But I have problem closing detail form. Here is Detail constructor:
public FormDetail() {
addWindowListener(new WindowAdapter() {
public void windowClosing(WindowEvent e) {
dispose();
Here are actions:
1) start Main form
2) open Detail form
3) close Detail form
4) try to open Detail form - oracle.jbo.JboException 35001.
I've read about this error, but I don't know how to avoid it.
I cannot accept that I always have to use setVisible(true) and setVisible(false) on all my forms. There has to be a way to dispose of detail forms, and re-create them. Can someone please help?
Also, read article on Re: ADF-JClient bug
No solution thereI have looked at it before. I am not working with MDI forms, so I cannot apply this.
I found this article which could solve my problem, but I don't know how is "thedude" creating that Abstract class he was talking about...
Link: Re: how to release panelbinding correctly?
As I understood, I should release panel binding before I can release the form...
Default behavior of detail form's window listener is Exit(0). I want to reinstantiate form every time I open it. -
How to Set Individual Managed Metadata Navigation Links to Open in New Window?
I am using a managed metadata term set for the global navigation in my client's site. Most of the global navigation links point to pages in the current site, and should open in the current browser window/tab as the end user is just navigating within the
site content. However, I have one particular node in the navigation term set that points to related content scattered around other external sites. The client wants these links to open a new window.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to set the target for navigation links in the term set. If I was using standard global navigation, I'd be able to select the "Open in new window" checkbox when setting up the link, but that option doesn't appear to be
supported via MMD navigation.
Any clever suggestions?
Thanks!I had a similarish requirement at a client once upon a time, they wanted any links that went outside of the intranet web applications to open in a new window.
The way we managed that was to use jQuery to overwrite the standard hyperlink references for any hrefs that didn't point to internal sites to use the same javascript functions that SharePoint used for links configured to open in a new window. It worked out
as being about half a dozen lines; check the URL and if it doesn't begin with a set range of options then overwrite the on click behaviour using standard jQuery behaviour.
If you want it site wide then you just add jQuery and the code snippet to the master page, if you just want it in some places then add a CEWP or a HTML form web part to the relevant pages.
