CRIO 1588 Software Sync Error [swsync]

I have 2 cRIO 9074's w/ 9144 ethercat expansions.  The cRIO's are 1588 slaves to a PXI-6682 GPS module.
I am getting spurious errors (2147137804 - Master is no longer sync'd with the slave device acting as the reference clock)
that appear as scan engine faults within the Distributed System Manager.
Could someone please explain the meaning of this error?

These are the devices present in the network:

I attached a block diagram that describes the Network Topology. The cRIO is connected by ethernet cable, while sbRIO is connected by WiFi.
Both BAT-C and Open-BAT support WiFi 802.11 b/g/n.
I don't think that the problem could be that the WiFi connection get broken for some reason. Both the cRIO and the sbRIO send a continuous stream of the data to the PC. The stream (6 Mbit/s) coming from the sbRIO, that uses WiFi, arrives correctly without any lost in data also after the loss of PTP synchronization. If the connection was broken, I think that also this data stream would be corrupted.
All the devices in the network are setted with a static IP address.

  • Reader Software Sync Error

I have a reoccurring problem when syncing a reader to my library. The synch stalls at a certain book, and if I delete that book it just moves to the next one and stalls again. I had this problem first on a PRS-700 and a laptop running XP and now with a PRS-650 and a laptop running Windows 7 64-bit. I have de-installed and re-installed the latest 3.3.00.07130 program.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Here we are again.
    Reader: PRS-600
Software: Reader Library 3.3.00.07130 on Windows XP SP3
    Library: ePub (DRM, non-DRM), PDF
Long and short of it: Reader Library gets stuck syncing about halfway through. Initially the sync hung on a non-protected PDF (a magazine download). I deleted the PDF and sure enough the sync started failing on another book (non-DRM ePub). I tested all the usual suspects - Sony-provided USB cable, checked all 300 documents in the library and not one of them would not open in the software, nothing on a UNC path or removable drive. I have soft-reset the Reader, rebooted the computer, deleted all BBeB books from the library, but no luck. I have been waiting for nearly four hours in queue for a Sony chat support rep through chatsupport.sony.com, but clearly there is nobody available or willing to take the case. Using Calibre is not an option as I have about 50-60 books downloaded from Sony's store.
So...what can we do from here?

From your statements above, it sounds like you never tried to burn a CD for at least the first year that you owned the laptop, as it had a one year warranty on it. While you might have used it frequently to install software,  play DVDs, Blu-Ray disks, etc, that's unclear from your statements. Nonetheless, it might just be dirty-dusty. So, before deleting-uninstalling any software, and given they're cheap, try a CD-DVD Cleaner Disk first and see if that resolves your problems.

  • IPod Touch / iTunes sync error -50 on iMac, due to new upgrade for iPhoto

I have an iPod Touch, software version 3.0.
I have an iMac, on Mac OS X 10.5.8.
I am on iTunes version 8.2.1.
    I am on iPhoto 09 version 8.1 (415).
Ever since Apple released it's latest iPhoto upgrade about 2 weeks ago, I have not been able to sync my iPod Touch with iTunes, and instead getting a 'sync error -50'.
Apple's phone tech support did not know what the problem was and recommended me to Restore my iPod, as well as re-install iTunes. This did not help.
After much aggravation, I found a discussion group addressing the fact that it might have to do with the latest version of iPhoto. So, in iTunes I unchecked the sync iPhoto option, and now the rest of the sync's worked (iCal, Address book, music, movies, etc).
Still, I am looking for a solution, as I do not find not syncing my photos a long term solution. Can I do this on my own, or does a solution have to come in the form of a fix from Apple?
I want my photos back on the iPod, and am very thankful for any tips/help (...hello, anyone from Apple reading this?).

I don't think any of the work-arounds are really valid or deal with the problem. My Mac Pro desktop computer is 2 years old, so the problem obviously has nothing to do with a computer being new. I also don't see how it can have anything to do with iPhoto. If I get this error and "QUIT" iTunes and reboot iTunes, the iPod syncs perfectly, even though no changes were made.
I actually bought a new iPod this week because I thought my old iPod was failing (due to these repeated errors). Imagine my horror when the brand new iPod had the same problem.
Hopefully someone can figure out what going on.

  • Itunes dll errors, APPLE SYNC error on bootup, sync error.....solution!

One brilliant guy came up with this solution in this forum and has worked on 5 straight PC's. The thing is, I found another thread that helped also. In addition to this, if you are getting the Apple Sync Error, or still have problems after doing this procedure, go into uninstall programs and remove the MobileMe application. It is appearing to be a major contributor to the errors with Apple Sync! Thank you for your help guys!!!!!!
Okay, we're going to uninstall both iTunes and Apple Application Suppport this time. When we reinstall iTunes, that should reinstall Apple Application Support as well. We'll take a few additional explicit precautions along the way too. Best to print these instructions out, because at one stage of proceedings you won't be able to use a web browser.
    Preliminaries
Download and save a fresh 64-bit iTunes installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install on line and don't start the iTunes install just yet.)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL925
Now, quit QuickTime (if you have that open) and Safari 4.0.4 (if you have that installed and open). Both applications use Apple Application Support, and they will interfere with the uninstall if you have them open.
    Uninstall phase
Head into your "Uninstall a Program" control panel. Uninstall iTunes. Uninstall Apple Application Support.
(From this point on until we reinstall Apple Application Support, neither QuickTime nor Safari 4.0.4 will be able to run.)
Next we'll remove any leftover program files and folders.
    (1) Open "Local Disk (C:)" or whichever drive your program files are stored on.
    (2) Open the "Program Files (x86)" folder.
    (3) Right-click on the iTunes folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
    (4) Staying in Program files (x86), find and open the "Common files" folder.
    (5) Open the "Apple" folder.
    (6) Right-click on the Apple Application Support folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
Now empty your Recycle Bin and restart the PC.
    Reinstall Phase
After the PC restarts, do not open any other applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Switch off all your security software (firewall, antivirus and antispyware).
Now start the install by doubleclicking the iTunes64Setup.exe file you downloaded earlier.
Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to your network and/or the internet.

Thanks to all on this thread..  same problem, same solution.
This time it was on Win 7, the setup worked fine for awhile, and then SWMBO "did something" and it stopped working.  Much debug later, found the log message and realized that there was a streaming problem, but could not figure out if it was the router, my wireless network (I'm using it tied to my existing wireless network) or what.  New hardware, fully up to date firmware..  Argh!
I finally found this post, found the offending file ( ..\Users\xxxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Preferences\com.apple.iTunes.plist ) and simply moved it to another folder.  Restart iTunes, and all is copacetic.
Clearly this is a software issue in iTunes, and is happening accross HW and SW platforms for better than 2 years now..
I love the device, but the only reason I have it is to drive the stereo.  They should fix this one...

  • IPhone Calendar; Outlook 2007 Sync Error

I have an iPhone 5 with the 7.1.2 and the newest version of iTunes as well as the newest version of iCloud Control Panel.
Once I create a meeting|appt on my Outlook via computer (Win 7) it syncs to the iPhone calendar. (Good thing)
But if I were to change the day, time, or location from outlook .. it doesn't take effect on the iPhone and no point and time. (Bad thing)
    Thoughts?
    -Thanks in advanced!

    Hi,
For better assisting you on this matter, could you help me with information below:
What was the sync error was?
Is your software up to date, both Windows/Office/iOS?
What is your Outlook account type? IMAP, Exchange or POP3?
Are you using Cache mode or Online mode for you Outlook? When using an OST file, only information stored locally, or cached on your computer, will be available to sync.
Meanwhile, we can try to reset Sync history to see if the issue can be solved:
Back up your data, refer to
    this article for Backup details
    Open iTunes.
From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
    Click the Devices tab.
Click the Reset Sync History button.
If the issue continues and you know all of the data is on the computer:
Reset the Sync History again using the steps above.
Select the device in iTunes and click the Info tab.
Scroll down to the Advanced section, and under "Replace information on this iPhone/iPad/iPod touch" select Contacts or Calendars.
    Click Apply.
If the issue continues and you know all the data is on the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
Reset the Sync History again using the steps above.
Remove all of the contact and calendar information from Outlook.
Select the device in iTunes and click the Info tab.
Scroll down to the Advanced section, and under "Replace information on this iPhone/iPad/iPod touch" make sure Contacts and Calendars are not selected.
    Click Apply.

  • IPod cannot sync, error -48

Lately I've been getting errors saying iPod cannot sync, error -48. However, it seems to sync fine. What's going on?

I have started to get these errors as well?
First time I used Restore which seemed to fix it until the next time I tried to sync having added several CD's worth of music when I got the -48 error. This time I also got an error reporting it was unable to sync as another programme was using the iPod?
Anyway this time I zapped the iPod with Disc Utility and restored it again, so far so good. But I expect it will need an iPod software update to fix it for good in the end. Lets hope Apple post one out soon.

  • Ipod sync error - error -48

connected my ipod to a powerbook G4 (usb 1.1) and tried to synch my ipod
it displayed the error message "failed to sync error -48"
Is it a USB issue or a sync issue (i.e. application issue??)

Early last week, I did spend a whole day to fix up my 3rd Gen iPod. I had tried every different way, and occasionally, it came up with the same error -48 message.
It seems that it was not a software nor hardware problems, but just an iPod itself.
The way I did was - to format the iPod with a PC, once it has been completed reconnect it back with your Mac
    For Window computer
    Go to folder “My Computer”
Hope you can see your iPod there and right click on the iPod
Choose “Format”. Ensure the settings are at “Default” and that “Quick Format” is not checked
    Now select “Format”
Eject your iPod and do a Reset
Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”

  • ICal /sync errors

I have recently ( last couple days) encountered sync errors when trying to sync iCal between a lampshade G4 iMac, a flat panel G5 iMac, and my G3 600MHz iBook. All are current re operating system. Interestingly, both bookmarks and address book seem OK, just iCal - i.e. my wife will input data into our 'home' calendar on the kitchen counter, and after syncing, the changes will NOT appear in the same calendar on the other computers. I have done all the fixes described in these posts - no joy. Never had a problem before, and I am now reliant on this stuff working, so please, Apple, if you are there, something you have done ( no new installs on my end other than your Software update stuff) has messed up iCal -please fix it.

    Dear All.
Have just updated both computers with the latest version of 'Tiger'. 10.4.3.
"Seems" to have resolved the comms sync problems. Well - to the extent that .Mac & the computers were talking; even if it does say "You have 2525 amendments to your Calender "!! Indeed I now have duplicates in Bookmarks and on the .Mac web site but that I can live with. [ Address Bk seems OK ]. Suggest when U are given the choice of "merging" or selecting .Mac as you source, consider which is most correct.
To convince myself that it all now works, I entered "Test from Laptop / iMac " etc in Address Bk and iCal and checked to see if it showed up on both computers and .Mac. - Which it did thank goodness. Wonder if we will ever know what that "update to isync" was ? Would be nice to kept informed, having spent hours trying to resolve it. Apple ????

  • Ipod software 1608 error

    HELP!

Sorry, I can't help but I have a similar problem. "The iPod <iPod name> could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1432)." My 30GB iPod video (5th generation) crashes whenever I try to sync it. I either get the error dialogue, or the 'device removal' dialog box after roundabout 4 minutes. But the connection is all right. I even tried a different cable. And a different computer. It mounts perfectly, starts to sync my library, but gets stuck after syncing a few songs. I thought the songs might be corrupted. So I tried sync my photos, not my music library. But the outcome is the same. Tried to restore. Worked once. Later, when I tried to sync the same s**t happened again. Now I can't even restore the iPod anymore, because the errors occur before the iPod can be restored. Tried to reset the iPod. Nothing. Tried the diagnostics, manual and auto. Auto shows M25 diagnostics 0.7 completed PLL: 0. Does anyone know what that means? The manual diagnostics for memory results in "Checksum=0x0CFF" for flash and "RUN: BL on / PASS: BL blink / FAIL: BL off" for SDRAM... Does that mean the memory is f**ked? Once I restart the iPod it works fine, I can navigate thru the menus etc. (Pointless without music on the iPod and without the possibility to sync...)
If the RAM was broken the iPod shouldn't boot at all, am I right?
    Can anyone help???
I am getting frustrated... the iPod is just a little bit too old for warranty!

  • Sync error occurs when syncing contacts

Hi. The new desktop software was working fine, then all of a sudden, I started getting the following error message: "A sync error occurred. Please retry sync." Of course, when I retry, I keep getting the same message. It comes up during the contact syncing. I am not sure what the problem is. Any ideas on how to find out why it is hanging up and how to fix it??
    Thanks.

I can say I am having this problem as well. I have scoured the forums and support pages, and tried everything under the sun; uninstall, reinstall, wipe, contact grouping, you name it and the problem persists. Gold medal to the person that can help me.
It looks like I get a date error in the log window. To be precise:

  • Sync error(3689) /w new MBP to AppleTV(G1) & NO Firewall

I switched form Windows to a MBP and I get a Sync error(3689) from iTunes to my AppleTV(g1), there is no firewall on the MBP. I've tried resetting to factory load and it still fails. Funny thing is I can still Sync from my iTunes Windows box.

Update on problem with ATV(G1) and new MBP17 (Thunderbolt). Did a Factory Restore on the ATV which took it back to v1.1 and wiped all the content of the ATV. Then updated to current ATV software, then set up an entirely new sync connection to my iTunes Library on the MBP.
The selected a few items to sync on the MBP (so I could see results quickly, rather than waiting for a 55GB sync to fail). Clicked Apply. Then clicked Sync.
The sync then starts. It syncs one song. iTunes shows progress bar in the normal way. Then it hangs (progress bar stops).
Then I quit iTunes. It warns me that an Apple TV is syncing. But confirm quit.
Then reopen iTunes, and I find the ONE song is happily synced on to the ATV.
Immediately after restarting iTunes, it then (correctly) starts to sync again, picking up with the next song on the list.
But it then hangs again, after ONE song.
    So, what do we know?
    1) iTunes 10.2.1 on new MBP does correctly 'see' the ATV(G1) over both WiFI and Ethernet (I've tried both).
    2) It is possible to correctly set up the ATV(G1) to sync with the iTunes Library on MBP. The ATV generates the Passcode and iTunes on the MBP accepts that Passcode in the normal manner.
    3) But note here - iTunes asked for the passcode TWICE. Is this a fault?
    4) iTunes happily accepts your sync instructions (either automatic or manual) and starts to sync.
    5) It then hangs after one song (or a couple of photos).
    6) On reopening iTunes it picks up sync where it hung up, but then only does one song.
A thought about an issue that may be part of the problem. I used Apple's Migration Assistant to set up my new MBP by restoring the contents of my old MP 8-Core's hard drive to the new machine from a back up on an Apple Time Capsule, using Apple Time Machine. (Basically, a 100% Apple-approved process for setting up a new Mac with all the data and settings from a previous Mac).
In EVERY other respect (email settings etc) this process has worked 100%.
