CRM 7.0 - Communication Management Software - CTI

Hi,
We are in process of configuring Contact Center Simulator.
The fact is that we don't have JAVA stack on CRM 7.0 system, rather we are using different system for JAVA stack.
We have successfully done with RFC connection in CRM 7.0 pointing to JAVA stack system and other required config settings.
When user click 'Ready' button from UI, it gives error 'Communication management software system is not configured'.
Does any body has experenced this or did I missed out any step?
Regards,
Nilesh P

Hi Nilesh,
Here are a few things to check:
1. Look at the ICI trace log and see what kind of message is being returned
2. Double-check your toolbar configuration - this often gets overlooked - you need a toolbar for voice configured
3. Check that the system where the Java stack resides can "see" and connect to your CRM 7.0 system - if there is a firewall between the two or if there is some other network reason that communication might be getting blocked. look at the ICI trace log and see what url is being passed in the subscribe command, then put that URL into a web browser on the java server to verify that it can call back to the CRM system
Hope this helps. I have done that same thing before so I know it works.
Sincerely,
Glenn

  • AT&T Communications Manager reinstall problem

I'm running a MacBook Air with OS X 10.8.1.   I bought an AT&T USBConnect Force 4G, and the AT&T Communications Manager software installed correctly when the device was connected.  After installation Communications Manager wanted to update and I let it, and the update failed.  So, I tried to uninstall Communications Manager by dragging it to the trashcan (I'm fairly new to the Mac community and, silly me, trusted AT&T to write a proper Mac program to uninstall this way!) As it turns out, AT&T says one must use the Communication Manager uninstaller or files will be left behind.  Ok, Ok, I didn't read that instruction and I screwed up.  I get that.
Problem is, I cannot reinstall the AT&T Communications Manager software. When I try to reinstall, the program says it can't install because there's a newer version of the Communications Manager already present.  I cannot find the files I need to delete--as I said, I'm a fairly recent convert to Mac, and I don't really know how to navigate around in the OS X file system very well.  I tried Time Machine but that didn't work.
Please advise as to how I would locate the files I need to delete...
    Thanks much,

Well, my experience with T-mobile and Verizon WWAN installers finds that they splatter stuff all over the system including kernel device drivers. Sounds like at&t is no different. Simply dragging the visual application icon to the trash never completely uninstalls this crud.
I use a Mac application called Pacifist developed by CharlesSoft dot com. It is $20 shareware that also has a countdown try button. It installs in /Applications and launches as a graphical tool. Drag the original at&t installer onto Pacifist and it will then present a hierarchy of the installation file names and locations. Once you have this detective information, you can surgically remove the indicated files from your system.
Your are new to the Mac community. Are you new to the UNIX terminal command line? If yes, then you should allow someone else more experienced with the terminal interface to follow the above approach, because one wrong move with terminal file removal and you could find yourself re-installing OS X. Also, if TimeMachine has been backing up your entire system, you have this undesireable installation in your back-ups. A wrong restore could re-create your problems.

  • How to migrate from BE6000 to Communications Manager

    Dear forum members,
first of all, I'am tired. I have been on a long journey from the day we bought our Cisco Unified Communication system until now.
Technically everything worked just fine, right from the beginning until now. But starting from the first day, I had several huge
issues with our Cisco reseller (Deutsche Telekom/T-Systems).
It all started with the fact, that all hardware related contracts and services were SmartNet Services and added directly to our company account.
All software related services were booked as "Shared Services". So we were the rightfull owner of the licenses but our reseller had to migrate/issue all tickets, licensing requests and so on.
It took us (me and our reseller) over a year to set these things "right".
Right now, everything (hardware and software related services, licenses, ...) are bound to our Cisco account. We can open TAC cases, download software/firmware and so on.
Last week, we migrated successfully from Call Manager 8.6.5 to 10.0. So I was really happy to see, that everything worked fine (I could migrate my licenses, download the software, ...).
I thought, "Hey, finally eveything works as expected..."
    I was wrong, so wrong...
What happend? I tell you what happend...
During the migration, we had to move all our servers (CUCM, CUC & CUPS) from our Cisco C200 M2 Server to our Dell VMware cluster, because the C200 M2 is (as far as I know) not supported anymore for BE6000 10.x and we didn't wand to buy a new C220 M3 server.
Due to the fact, that the BE6000 is only supported on that hardware, we decided to migrate our BE6000 to a Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
Our reseller told me, that Cisco Unified Communications Manager is supported on third party hardware (if the hardware meets certain requirements, like processors and so on) and due to the fact that we only use CUCM, CUC & CUPS there would be no difference for us when it comes to features.
So I said: Great, let's do that. And when you are doing that, can you please order us a license for a collab edge gateway (the thing that enables Jabber to proxy through the firewall without the need of a vpn tunnel).
And that was the point when our communication stucked...
Since that mail, I don't get any response from our reseller regarding this two tasks. They told me, that I can do that myself. I tried that and searched all cisco portals and then opended a TAC case.
The TAC team told me, that our reseller had to file a sales order (is that right?) and send me back to them.
Right now, I'am trapped between Cisco and my reseller and I'am really tired. Can someone please tell me what I can do/have to do to patch things up?
    Kind regards,
    René

DRS from your current server which is using the 6K OVAs, into your dell server which should NOT be using the 6K OVAS, but any of the other non-6K options you have.
I assume you've already verified your server is supported under 3rd party spec guidelines???
But, that's all it takes to move from a 6K into an enterprise CUCM, or the other way around as well.

  • Which project management software is best, which project management software is best

Which project management software is best for my macbook pro?

In order to give you a solid recommendation, we'd need to know what needs you have.
What type of project are you planning on managing?
    What size of team?
    Timeline?
    Extent?
What are some things you need to manage (emails, phone calls, stages, tasks, phases, etc)?
Without any of this, it's hard to give you a recommendation, as EVERYTHING will work on your MacBook Pro, especially if you have Windows dualbooted.
However, I can tell you that the best project management software I've used to date (and continue using) is JobNimbus. It's both CRM and project management software, very easy to use, and the pricing is way lower than others I've seen.
Give that a try (they have a 30-day trial) and try to reply back with more info so we can help you out a little bit better.
    Cheers

  • Best Contact Management Software for Mac

I'm sure this question has been asked before but I can't find it anywhere. Plus, I'm not sure if I'm even in the right place. But, can you tell me what contact management software works the best for Mac?
Also, I'm new to using such software, is there anything specific I should be looking for when choosing one?
    Thanks!

I'm sorry to say there isn't much around. It has been a bit of a weak spot for Mac / OS X for ages - but things are possibly improving.
Any CRM solution for OS X needs really to co-operate with Address Book and iCal - so you can sync your stuff out to PDAs or whatever, and use them in Mail / iWork / Office 2008 etc. that are already written to work with such info in AB and iCal. If it doesn't, you end up with a closed-off app that can't easily work with you on the machine, and which then has to re-do code that already exists. Odd design constraints in earlier versions of iCal and AB made this harder - they were not very aware of other systems / apps. But this is changing in Leopard, and there are some promising things on the horizon (though none really useful solutions avail yet).
Of those out there, probably the best notional app is (in my view) Now Software's Nighthawk (http://www.nowsoftware.com/nighthawkSubsite/index.html). It is written by a team with a solid track record of CRM development on Macs, and is apparently designed to play nice with iSync and the rest. Trouble is it doesn't yet exist - rumours of a public Beta have been out there for months, but the date keeps slipping. Could be a good thing, or signs of major problems - who knows. Realistically you'll not see anything commercially viable from them before April next year I reckon.
But waiting could be good. The other attempt we've seen is SOHO Organizer by Chronos Software. (http://www.chronosnet.com/Products/sohoorganizer.html) In description it does the business - iSync / iCal / AB compatible. But it has had a troubled development, and there is lots of grim sounding reports of trouble with the app on the net. The developers are not very kind to themselves with not much disclosure and (at least last time a looked) a restrictive demo / preview policy (you get one trial period, and that's it, for ever! Even if they bring out a major version number change). My personal experience is that they tell a much better marketing story than they deliver in software - but I've steered clear of the app for a long time now (after a seriously bad experience) but who knows, they might well have caught up with their ambitions by now.
There are many others about that are really central web-based systems - which is fine provided you don't want to use Mail / AB / iCal or sync any of this to your phone / PDA / .Mac or whatever.
So, nothing much going on now. But ever hopeful...
If anyone knows more / other stuff - would be good to know about. We're still travelling hopefully.

  • Ideas on adding licenses to a 8.X Communications Manager cluster before upgrade to v10.

Hi, hope is all well. This is something I started working with my global Cisco reseller but it takes sometime I wanted to make sure I see different options if possible to present. My company has deployments of collaboration products mainly on v8.x (all three main 8.0.2, 8.5.1 and 8.6.2) going to v10 during this year. Some already run on UCS but some are on MCS and will be late in migration. For those late, there are some growth need in end user/phone deployment but since v8 is end of sale, my provider may not be able to sell licenses.
If this is true, they might offer to buy v10 licenses with software subscription just like new deployment, which is not too bad at all since we will use this added amount on future v10 upgrade, but has anyone ever did that? I am afraid we use v10 PAK (if possible) to generate v8 license file, will render it not upgradable later. Reasoning is, let's say there is 1000 licenses on v8 with UCSS and we buy 15 v10 licenses downgraded to v8. Once we processo v8 to v10 upgrade on PUT, Cisco might see only 1000 original v8 liceses to provide upgrade instead of 1015.
Does it make sense or am I missing something here? Thank you very much for any suggestions.

UCSS and CUCM 8.X licenses have both been EoL. Even the existing UCSS+ ESW has been converted to SWSS.

  • Calibration Management Software

I work at a research lab that has approximately 7 test cells.  Each cell has around 50 measurement channels using field point or PXI/SCXI DAQ read by Labview.  Hooked up to those channels are TC's, pressure transducers, flow meters, level sensors.  We have some in-house calibration equipment (PRTD's with dry well's, high accuracy pressure sensors with pressure sources).  In the past calibration was done by comparing the readouts of the calibration equipment with the readouts of the Labview screen by typing the information into Excel, generating curve fits in Excel, and then typing the data into Labview (or maybe even reading a file in Labview) and then the calibration equations are run in the Labview program.  The different calibration points (say 70 oF, then 80 oF) have been set manually by a person watching the operation.  I have gone through and used Labview to automate reading the calibration sensor and changing the setpoint on the source (dry well).  This is a great accuracy improvement and time saver.  The next logical step is to keep the calibration history in a database so that we can evaluate drift over time, etc., instead of decentralized Excel sheets for each channel.  We have found many companies that make "Calibration Management Software" (CMS), though none that do not require extra customization so that I can take the data from my automated Labview Calibration routine and enter it pragmatically into the CMS, and then pragmatically recall calibration coefficients from the CMS.  At my previous employer I saw a software package have this sort of communication with MetCal/Trak, though in talking with the fluke sales man he started talking of extra licensing fees, paying them to write specialized code, etc. beyond just paying for the MetCAL/Trak.  The added cost to get the Labview integration was left an undefined number.
Does anyone have a good solution that they use that they could share some details on?

    Hey James,
Sadly, I'm not familiar with any calibration management software that does not require added customization. When you say that you have the calibration history in "decentralized Excel sheets", what exactly do you mean? My thinking is that you can develop your own CMS using the file writing/reading in LabVIEW. If that's not feasible, it seems like you may have to look more into the customized CMS option.
Hope you have a good one!

  • Windows 8 - Power Management Software

    Hi,
I upgraded to windows 8 on my T420s and have done all updates using Lenovo update utility. I installed power driver for windows 8 but I cannot find the power management software. When will it be released?
I need the software because my batteries are running out in just one hour of use - but i know that they are not dead because they are both new batteries and they shoudl be holding a combined 6 hours of use.
Is there some other utility I can use to let windows reset the battery and relearn its capacity or something like that?
    Ezra

    Hi, ishtech
Lenovo has yet to release the Power Manger for Windows 8, but some users have developed a workaround. Though not supported, it seems that some users have been able to install the Windows 7 power manager (found here) and have gotten it to work by running it in Windows 7 compatibility mode. If it works for you, it should tide you over until Lenovo releases Power Manager for Windows 8. You can find more information on this here on this Lenovo thread.
    Hope it helps,
    Adam

  • Energy Management software keeps making shortcuts in the Start Menu

I just recently reformatted my laptop and installed Windows 7 Ultimate. I got the drivers from my laptop model's download page in the Lenovo support website, and everything was working fine - except for when the Lenovo Energy Management software would keep making shortcuts in the Start Menu every time I reboot the system.
I had my Start Menu organized, created folders to categorize my apps, so it's really annoying when a folder I already deleted pops up every time I start my laptop. Why does it happen? Is there a fix for it?

    Hi Pommy,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community!
I’m sorry to hear that a shortcut is automatically getting created, I would suggest you to re-install the LEM (Lenovo Energy Management) in the computer and while installing the driver right click on the downloaded file and select “Run as administrator” option to get it installed without any error.
Do post us back if the issue persists.
    Best Regards

  • Sizing for SAP BCM (Business Communication Management)

    Hi All
We have to provide a server sizing to be used for SAP BCM (Business Communication Management) module which will be intergrated with SAP CRM and is to be used for call support. As far as we have reached, we require a Windows server and will host MS SQL database with an approx consumer data of 63 lacs consumers.
Please specify the sizing for this server
    Thanks in advance
    Lokesh

Sorry, forgot to ask how much physical memory you have on each host.
Let's split it to 2 topics.
    1. For ECC, since OracleDB and non-unicode page which are the 2 major factors won't be changed, so I would think here we could just do a math, as long as host A has enough memory which is allocated for Oracle and ECC (extended memory) on host B to be added up.
    2. For EP, memory tuning size is basically the same for HP JDK and SUN JDK, that each server node is allocated approximately 2.5GB RAM. Besides, 0.8-1GB RAM needs to be left for OS kernel. But in your case, host B is currently holding 200 users which is a big jump for host A(note: only active user quantity matters here).
That's fine if main physical memory is a little short for host A, utilizing multiple less powerful servers as 2nd tier application server to do the load balancing is also a solution with lower TCO.

    Effan

  • Communication manager 4.0.1 is not working with PCMCIA FBUS

    Hi everybody,
since i can remember we have got problems with communication manager driver software ( which is comming with the FF ITK ) using with PCMCIA FBUS card.
I cant use our PCMCIA FBUS 1 or PCMCIA FBUS Series 2 card with the latest communication manager 4.0.1 because the card is not working after installation of the software.

    Hi,
There is no such limit of CM 4.0.1 to work with PCMCIA-FBUS interface.
We only have problem with some Dell Laptop because of some hardware issue.
Please refer to the related discussion link:
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/FOUNDATION-Fieldbus/NI-FBUS-PC-Card-detected-wrong/td-p/1658478
Also there are several diagnose suggestion for you.
    1. Check the Device Manager to see whether the driver is installed and identified correctly.
    2. Try several PCMCIA-FBUS cards in your Laptop.
    3. Try the same PCMCIA-FBUS card in different Laptop with CM 4.0.1.
Hope this will help. If any further request, please feel free to email me through [email protected]
You could get swift reply and support.
    Thanks.

  • 8530 Desktop Manager Software Updated on 3/7/2013 killed my calendar link

Since January 2010, my then-brand new 8530 Curve synched perfectly and beautifully with my Outlook Express calendar.  As of 3/7/2013, some automatic update to my Desktop Manager Software blew the whole thing up.  Now, whenever I connect my Curve to my PC, the PC reboots.  We can't even get an error message, the reboot is instantaneous.
Have checked everything else (promise), and I've had my computer geek (who is excellent and who built my computer and my network) and various other tech wizards all tell me the same thing:  I need to get BACK to version 6.0.0 something something Desktop Manager software and download that back to my PC, then stop all automatic updates.  They, and I, have collectively spent three full days trying to accomplish this, which led to this forum and all of you.  PLEASE help!
Details:  From my Blackberry, the following:  8530 v 5.0.0.1030 (Bundle 1675, Platform 4.2.0.451)
    PC is Windows XP operated.
