CRM - Requirement

I am new to CRM. Could any one please explian the requirement.
Regarding claims - inquiries as well as complaints, in which a Danish address is included, subject of delivery, you must be able to link  VAP-information i.e. distribution center, team and route, in order to make sure that the case is automatically directed to the right place and relevant information can be found when requested, if a member of the customer service staff search for a specific unit based on information about address and product so contact by phone, mail or fax to the unit can take place, and follow up reports can be prepared.
The look-up is to be either automatically from SAP/CRM based on the registration of destination address and product or by request from the customer service. Automatic look-ups is based on the full address  (name, address and postal code and/or city) and product, while look-ups by request should be possible based on postal code and/or city (i.e. distribution center) or  extended by address  (i.e. routing in distribution center) .
VAP hands over the wanted information to SAP/CRM, where they are displayed and saved as part of the case.
In relation to customer service as well as claims is must be possible to make a look-up in VAP based on destination address, that points to the post office/shop to which the shipment is to be reported.. This look-up in VAP is only by request.

For now, we have made the design using activities, where the objective is to simple register complaints. However we would like to have direct integration between the complaints filed as activities and service orders in R/3.
    We have thought about two possible approaches to do this. One by creating a service order in CRM as a follow to the activity described above using the action profile, and the transferring the service order to R/3. However we feel this might be a little complicated due the fact that using services orders in CRM requires more configuration. The second approach consists on creating an Action Box of the Interaction Center WinClient that calls a PM transaction in R/3 where I can directly register the service order in the R/3 system.
    Does anybody have any ideas on what would be the approach?
    If somebody have any ideas on how to create a service order in R/3 from CRM would be very helpful and will be rewarded with points.

    Hi Alberto,
    The second way though it looks simple but has lots of functionality gaps.
    Jst imagine, if service head wants to know the number of compaints being served completly, or what are the types of complaints and what are the services we offered, or link between complaints and service orders.
    This would not be achieved in the second senario.
    Better go ahead with the first solution, and it hardly requires much of the configuration, also u would be able to do all the analysis.

  • BUS_TRANS_MSG:Technical error Could not determine module name

    Hi,
    1) Sales documents were not replicating to R/3 system,bdocs failed with the following Techical error.
    Could not determine module name: BUS_TRANSACTION_MESSAGE GENKEY: REP_GET_RECIPIENT
    Service that caused the error: SMOH_REPLICATION_WRAPPER_MSG.
    Can anyone tell me the reason why it is happening and how to reoloves this issue.
    2)Delta load is not active for the Sales documents (BUSPROCESSND) in the transaction R3AC4.Is this entry will be created automatically or should we maintain it manually.

    Hi,
    1) This error normally occurs if the R/3 site is not configured properly in the admin console(SMOEAC).Please check the same. Also make sure that the relevant subscriptions are assigned for this R/3 site as ANY data which goes out of CRM requires proper subscriptions to be maintained for the R/3 site.Please create it with a subscription for business transactions.             
    If they are maintained correctly and still you have this errror then you need to generate the modules assocaited with the bdoc's again using GNRWB.
    2) Normally initial load of the objects will automatically trigger the DELTA flow as well as all the events exposed by R/3 for that object will be registered in CRM. Please make sure that in the table CRMRFCPAR on R/3 the option "Discard Data" is NOT SET.(if set the delta will be discarded).

    Hi Peter,
    Alex has introduced me into this discussion (Cheers Alex!). The answer to your question regarding time-frames is not straight forward, so here is a brief explanation:
    We have a product that can be installed within a week, the usual challenges being hardware logistics, security access, firewall configurations, etc.
    Additional analysis is usually required to determine how JD Edwards has been configured to ensure correct codes end up in the right place in CRM, and vice-versa. A good example is JDE Category Codes which can have many meanings for many reasons. Some codes may have meaning to CRM and some not, and again vice-versa. How they "map" at one organization may not be how they map at another. The time it takes for this exercise varies from site to site, with on-site knowledge and well documented systems having a bearing on results.
    Further to this, our integration suite (known as the Ndevr Integration Suite, or NIS) has been built for all the obvious integration points such as name / address / phone numbers / product catalogue / create JDE sales orders / view JDE sales orders / many more. However, with CRM OnDemand being so flexible and JDE being so infinitely configurable, the list of integration possibilities is endless and we often find that site-specific integration may be required. NIS contains a comprehensive suite of JDE web services beyond just the basic CRM requirements, making integration possible with many JDE modules, and for all versions of JDE OneWorld from XE going forward. In order to determine time-frames a scoping exercise is generally required, but it’s good to know that much of the work can be fast-tracked because NIS already has the bulk of functionality built into its web services.
    In short, NIS is relatively easy to install, in fact can be installed remotely, but additional time is usually required for business analysts to ensure site-specific data is mapped correctly, and unique business needs are catered for.

  • How is PeopleSoft Memory Managed?

    I'm running a custom app engine with one PeopleCode section which is very brief and simple calls an app package. This app package calls another app package that is using a CI. The process is failing after processing approximately 10,000 out of 20,000 rows (the actual number of rows varies from run to run, same data), with a simple out of memory error. I've had our SysAdmin increase the memory for Java without any change. So, my question is how does PeopleSoft manage it's memory. Is it best to cancel the CI after each row or keep one instance and do a new get/create (I believe that's doable)? Should I should I re-instantiate the app package class objects after each row, etc. Does anyone have any clue as to how the memory is managed?

    Jim - As to fine tuning, I probably won't get around to it. I suspect that you are right about somewhere there's a tipping point. But the CI, is CRM's Consumer Component, so there's just a lot to it, which is why it takes a while to process 20,000+ rows. To answer your restart question, it's probably worth describing the higher levels of how it all fits together.
    The way we use CRM, requires that we are frequently required to load large amounts of data from spreadsheets into various components - Users, Workers, Consumers, configuration tables, etc. Often times there's some complex logic associated with processing the raw data. So, to accommodate that need we started out by building an almost abstract packages/class to handle all the common needs of opening, reading and manipulating an input file, trap errors, write to a custom log, etc. We then extend this class to meet the specific needs of a given load. At the same time since we were frequently using the same code for a given CI, we started creating custom classes for each CI. So that all this would be reusable whether we were doing a load or needing to use it somewhere else. Somewhere along the ling PeopleSoft has probably caught up to what we've been doing, but we're too invested in our own methodology to take a look. But, since we were always loading from files, our users wanted to see the progress each process was making. We incorporated logging each row processed out into our logs. (I know this is not very efficient, but when users were watching very long running processes, they wanted to be able to know it was making progress, so we forced the app engine/classes to write to the log by opening and closing the file.) I guess this a very wordy way to say we don't use restart. We just remove the processed rows from the file and start again. I'm sure we can find more efficient ways to do all this, given the added features of tools over the years, but we can very quickly turn out new CI loading processes, and we don't have the time to rework what we're currently using.

    P.S. I forgot to answer your question. Yes basically you psuedocode is what we're doing. But, instead of ci = null, we use ci.cancel(). I assume that has the same affect?

    IN CRM - requirement is  to Identify products which are all having images for a given product catalog (maintained via Transaction Code : COMM_PCAT_ADM ) Download them into desktop.

    You can check if catalog Export functionality can be used to do your job. The feature allows to export the catalog with the mime objects (the images)...

    We required custom message to the log- on popup, right now the message is coming after we give the user ID and password "starting SAP CRM" instead of that

  • Dynamics CRM 2015 Install requires Active Directory on VM Windows 2012 R2 Server

    Hello,
    I'm trying to install Dynamics CRM 2015 on a standalone VM not connected to a domain (it's running under WIndows 8.1 Professional). The VM was configured using WIndows Server 2012 R2. I'm getting an error message shortly into the install process stating
    it needs to access Active Directory.
    How can I get around this issue - I just want to Install this CRM on the VM without getting into complicate network/AD issues.
    Can you please advise ?

    CRM requires AD no way around that so the most likely solution is to install it on that server or on a VM not connected to your other networks

  • CRM-MAS 4.0 SR1 required software updates lead to system crash !?

    I'd like to know how MAS 4.0 behave when the software required for its installation are updated : over the past few months my computer has acted more and more strangely, and in the end I couldn't even log into Windows. The ghost we made after the installation has just ended the same way this afternoon.
    As I only have installed WinMerge on that computer, my own other apps were portable apps, I was wondering if software updates could lead MAS to make the system fail.
    Here is the starting environment : Windows 2000 company master with SQL Server 2000, Lotus Notes 6.5, Java 1.4.2 (and IE 6)
    Required for MSA are Lotus 5 and Java 1.3.5
    - Notes 6.5 is uninstalled and replaced by Notes 5.
    - Java 1.4.2 is uninstalled, left registry keys manually removed and Java 1.3.5 is installed.
    - Installation of MAS + SPs + packages
    - Notes 5 is uninstalled and replaced by Notes 6.5 (which, I think, updates java to 1.4.2)
    So first, what is the impact of updated versions for MAS ?
    Second, I think I saw the behavior becoming worse after some windows update, do you think it is possible, or it just made an existing problem bigger ?
    The different problems I had were first a random crash from MSA when I had IE open (email webaccess). Then it almost crashed everytime. Then I could't even get into MAS when I had IE open, then the same with Notes.
    Other things (don't remember the order) were :
    - Couldn't launch any application when MAS was lanched (even "My Computer" properties)
    - I had visual glitches with CRM, Notes and IE when they were running at the same time
    - I couldn't run the project from the debug feature of MAS ("Could not access registry").
    And this afternoon, when I logon, a message asking me to increase the registry size then reboot. Then I can see the desktop but can't do anything
    Besides installing WinMerge (old version, installer only), I had on my usb key : Firefox portable, Miranda portable, Notepad++ Portable and in the end I also used winmerge directly form it.
    What do you think about this ? Maybe there was just a flaw in the initial computer installation, or maybe MAS does really not like to have its initial requirements updated ? 
    At the moment I am having my computer re-installed, and they have changed their masters to Windows XP, Notes 6.5 and Java 1.4 (maybe 1.6).
    Have requirements of MSA 4 changed, for installation on WinXP ?

    Hi,
    the installation of JRE (Java Runtime) or LN is not related to MAS directly but to an additional MSA installation. So their installation resp. update cannot have any impact on MAS.
    I rather think that there might be a corruption of the Windows Installer Database which is used as a standard installation engine e.g. also for MAS.
    I also can remember to have serious problems (always automatic start of Windows installer popup when trying to open MAS/MSA) some years ago on a customer MAS machine where windows updates were applied automatically.
    Finally there was only the solution even to reinstall the complete OS.
    Maybe you could check for microsoft tools like msicuu2.exe to uninstall the applications also from the installer database mentioned above.
    By the way: Did you already check the hard disk resp. memory for failures?

    However, I missed to mention that we have two set of users  One is for Finished Goods and another for Spares.
    Only Spares users need to be prevented from creating Direct/Manual Sales Orders in Oracle.
    As you suggested, if this will be done at Form level, that may Disallow FG users also to create Manula Sales Orders which should not be the case.
    Further, I tried to test one scenario through Processing Constraints but it did not work.

  • Upgrade from CIC0 to CRM IC Web - is NetWeaver XI required?

    I have a customer who is looking to move their processes from the customer interaction centre (CIC0) in the SAP GUI to the CRM 2007 IC WebClient. They have upgraded to ECC 6.0, but do not have NetWeaver in place today, so they have asked whether this is required for the implementation of CRM. Do I correctly assume that the CRM middleware concept has not changed (ie it still uses BDocs) with CRM 2007? Also, can you please confirm whether XI required for them to move to the CRM 2007 IC WebClient?

    Yes. There is no change in the CRM Middleware concepts in CRM 2007. There is no need for an XI for using the CRM Webclient.

    Create new CRM business role by copying standard SERVICEPRO or SALESPRO
    Even u can assign business roles SERVICEPRO or SALESPRO  to Oraganization units.
    Goto Org assginement and assign these business roles (Goto-Detail Object-click on business roles (Z or standard)-Save it.
    Assign your BP to org position
    Execute transaction code BSP_WD_CMPWB
    Enter CRM_UI_FRAME in test application and click on execute.
    select the profile -Left side menu you will find the standard reports.
