Hi JD.
Usually this type of errors caused by browser's security settings. I suppose you use Internet Explorer, because more likely you won't face the same problem with Firefox.

  • Submit button - "Unknown Error" message in acrobat

    I have created a fairly large form. The submit button works in designer PDF preview, but if I open the form in acrobat and press the submit button it pops up a dialogue that says "Unknown Error" and the address I am sending the XML to.
    This still happens if I change the button to XML, XDP, url-enc.. etc..
    I have tried making a new form (ie. small amount data to send) with the same result.
    What really gets me is that the last form I made (last week) worked fine.
    Does anyone know what might be causing this?

    I have figured this out.. kind of.
    It was an XML over HTTP submit button and I was returning a php generated XML output of the posted data (so I could see it) - this works fine in LiveCycle preview, and in a web browser (acro activex), but not in Acrobat reader/pro as it's not a web browser and doesn't understand how to render the HTML/XML
    This does lead me to the next question, whihc I will post seperatley as "XML submit URL response/return in acrobat"

  • SHOW ALL / HIDE ALL BUTTONS produce error in chm but not in "View Selected Item"

    My SHOW ALL and HIDE ALL buttons work in the View Selected
    Item mode. However, the compiled version generates an error tag:
    Line: 72
    Char: 1
    Error: Object expected
    Code: 0
    URL:
    mk:@MSITSTORE:C\Documents%20and%20Settings\glenn_michaels\RoboHelp%206.0\TCA\!SSL!
    In short, the the compiled chm is located in the SSL. I tried
    adding showhide.js and ehlpDhtm.js to the SSL folder, but that
    didn't make a difference. What is missing? How do I fix this?
    Many thanks in advance...
    glennito

    Mr. Grainge,
    I've tried to follow your instructions to the letter, but I'm
    not having any luck.
    1) I copied the showhide.js to
    a) RoboHelp 6.0 > Project Folder
    b) RoboHelp 6.0 > Project Folder > SSL
    c) RoboHelp 6.0 > Project Folder > SSL >
    MicroSoft_HTML_Help
    2) I pasted btnhideall.gif, btnshowall.gif, printerblue.gif
    into
    a) RoboHelp 6.0 > Project Folder > SSL
    b) they are also listed in RoboHelp 6.0 > Project Folder
    3)The Project Manager > Baggage File originally displayed
    a
    a) Project (Name) folder
    b) ehelp.xml
    c) RoboHHre.Ing
    I opened the Baggage File > Project (Name) folder,
    selected New Baggage File, and added, respectively:
    i. btnhideall.gif
    ii. btnshowall.gif
    iii. ehlpDhtm.js
    iv. printerblue.gif
    v. printerred.gif
    vi. showhide.js
    vii. TCA.fpj
    vii. root.fpj
    4) I also opened rhbag.apj in Notepad. It shows
    a) ehelp.xml and RoboHHRE.Ing accompanied by
    <usercreated>false</usercreated> tags
    b) the remaining baggage files are accomanied by
    <usercreated>true</usercreated> tags
    5) Finally, I used Notepad to display two topic files in
    which the error message identified a Line: XX. In one case the line
    # is 42, in another, 19. In both cases, when I counted lines,
    starting with <body>, I ended up on:
    onClick="JavaScript:hideEm()"
    However, I am none the wiser for my effort and don't know
    what (5) might be telling me.
    6) The only thing I can think of is that the compiled chm
    file is two levels away from the Project Name directory that holds
    all the files. The files live in Robohelp 6.0 > Project Name
    while the compiled help is found in Robohelp 6.0 > Project Name
    > SSL! > MicroSoft_HTML_Help > Project Name.chm.
    Should I be adjusting the Relative Path within the topics?
    Many thanks for your attention and assistance.

  • Navigation buttons getting error in Accessible PDF

    In InDesign cs6 I have created 2 internal navigation buttons, one is "Go to destination" and one is "Go to Previous View". After exporting as an interactive pdf (yes, all the correct boxes checked or unchecked) and running a full check, I get these error messages:
    2 element(s) that are not contained within the structure tree. (How to Add Tags)
    Inaccessible digital signature
    Inaccessible form field
    I have been creating accessible pdfs for about a year but have never had to make one with this type of button. I have no idea why this is happening and have searched everywhere for an answer. Can anyone help? Please!

    Sorry for the delay in responding, you've probably solved this by now.  But just in case not, or for others searching for this answer.
    Strangely enough Navigation Buttons are considered "Form Fields" and need to be tagged in the proper reading order the Tag Panel under a Form tag. They also need tool tips which explain their purpose to the user.  The Tab Order also needs to be set in the Forms Task Pane.
    Here is a link that may help.

  • Update Benefits button receives error

    In Employee Self Service (ESS), we are able to click on the Benefits function from the ESS menu, then after choosing the Next button from the Dependents and Beneficiaries page, the Benefits Enrollments page displays. When we go to click the Update Benefits button, we receive an unexpected error that tells us to contact the sys admin. Anyone know what the issue may be?

    Thanks. I was able to address the issue with Oracle support.
    One issue that I do have is that in the Cost Column when using the Update Benefits tab, the column shows an annual amount instead of a bi-weekly amount. After checking and chaning the Activity Reference Period in the Standard rates and communicated amount tabs, it still shows that amount. So, I sent it to Oracle support and the answer was less than stellar! Any suggestions on how employees can see the bi-weekly amount for enrollment selections?

  • ID CS6: Interactive PDF Buttons -- Random Errors

    I'm creating a 50+ page catalog of tshirt designs. There are 4 rows of designs on each page (total 28 image objects), as well as a single preview area to the right of the rows which I've setup to show a closeup of design on rollover of the corresponding image in the row.  So, I've set each image in the row as a button, as well as corresponding closeup image which is set to show on roll over and hide on roll off.
    My issue is that we are having what I can best describe as random glitches / errors with the buttons when exporting to interactive pdf.  I say random, because the errors are not consistent; you can open the file and 1 of the closeup images will be mistakenly showing until you roll over the corresponding image, yet you can open the same file again, and that issue will not be happening again. Another issue would be that a row of images (that should always be showing) will randomly not show on a page, but if you scroll to the next page and then back, they will be there.
    For these reasons, I'm fairly certain that it is not an error in our setup, but simply a glitch.  Is there any sort of "save" setting that would eliminate these errors?
    FYI: we are viewing the pdf on acrobat x pro and adobe reader on both windows 7 and windows 8.

    Hi there,
    Do you have any screen grabs of what is going wrong?
    From what I can understand, the first page is your standard text resume and then on the second page you have your portfolio.
    But your portfolio is not working. The rollover to expand to show a larger image may be the cause of your issue. I've had tear my hair out moments also with trying to do this.
    You could try to have the button images along the top or side of your second page and then get them to load into a larger frame below or to the side of the buttons. You can do this using Multi State objects. This may get you out of the bind you're in now.
    To get a Multi State object to work in an interactive pdf you need to export the MSO (Multi State object) to swf and then add that swf to your interactive pdf export that and then you should be in business.
    I'm going to knock up a basic mockup of one and put a screen grab in the reply to better explain this.
    I've got the buttons up on top, you click on these to move through the portfolio of images. I've got five you may have more or less.
    Select all the images and add them to the media panel to make a MSO.
    Select each of the buttons and in the buttons panel add an action to go to a state, do this for each of the buttons.
    Export the MSO doc as a swf, create a new doc (same dimensions) add the swf and then export as an interactive pdf (make sure to set a poster image in the media panel otherwise you'll get a weird grey flash symbol in your pdf)
    Open the pdf and test to make sure it's what you want.
    Obviously your portfolio / resume will look a hell of a lot better than this, this is just a proof of concept.
    Here is a link to the files I used as a test.
    WeTransfer
    Hope this all makes sense.
    John.

  • Add page button throwing error

    I have a "add page" button on my form that is suppose to create a new instance of both page 3 and page 5.
    I got it working in two different fashions:
    FormCalc
    Page3.instanceManager.addInstance(1);
    Page5.instanceManager.addInstance(1);
    Javascript
    Page3.instanceManager.addInstance(true);
    Page5.instanceManager.addInstance(true);
    In both cases a new instance of page 3 & 5 are added to the form and everything functions as expected.
    The problem is that right when the button is pressed I get an error message
    It appears to me that it is trying to set the value of 'initial' which is a child element of 'occur' which I assume has not been initialized but I am having a heck of a time figuring out how to peroperly do it.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    pguerett found the answer.
    Both my pages contained tables that were set to have 18 rows each.  The problem stemmed from the first page, whose table was defined to have a min rows of 18, a max rows of 18 and an initial row count of 18.  By unchecking the initial rows and leaving just the min and max everything is working great.
    Thanks pguerett

  • FRM 40735 when button pressed error ORA 105101

    I have written a java class and successfully imported it into forms 9i. I added a button and wrote a trigger to access the java class. When I run the form and press the button i get FRM 40735 when button pressed trigger raised unhandled exception ORA 105101. I am running 9ids on windows 2000 and have checked my path and classpath and everything looks fine.
    You can obtain this error:
    1) Create a java class:
    public class getClasspath
    public static String getClasspath() {
    return(System.getProperty("java.class.path"));
    2) Import it in a form
    3) Create a button and in when-button-pressed trigger put this code:
    loop
    message(getClasspath.getClasspath(), no_acknowledge);
    end loop;
    4)RUN
    The error appears after 50944 loops
    Ciao
    Salvatore

    Does V_Exc actually get a value in it if you look in the debugger - it may well be that if the Memory is getting blown then the exception object cannot be created either so the reference is null.
    Anyway this is all somewhat academic is it not, what's the point of this question? If you feel there should be a better message in this particular circumstance then that's fair enough and you should ask Support to log that for you.
    Anything else will be addressed by the ability to tune the JVM size and the JVM pooling capabilities we'll be introducing in the 10g timeframe.

  • Show button Runtime error

    I had reported this pb before but unfortunately did not get
    any answer. The "show" button in the Webhelp Pro output does not
    work as expected
    Here is the pb:
    There are two type of calls that are made to access the
    topics from the RH server: one for the context senstive help with a
    window name called "context" (this window is only one pane) and
    another with the window name "userguide" (with the classic
    tri-pane).
    When the call is made with the window name "context" and the
    project is published with the option "Show Navigation Pane Link in
    Topics", as expected the "show" link is displayed at the top left
    of the topic. However, when this is clicked all projects
    systematically have the following runtime error:
    Line: 16
    Error: 'frames.bsscright.document' is null or not an object
    This error originates from the the file "whnjs.htm" file that
    is automatically created by RH during the webhelp pro build.
    Does anybody know how one can work around this problem as to
    not get this error prompted?
    Also, if for example I did not create an index for the
    project, and therfore do not want the index button to be displayed,
    or if I do not want the search input to be displayed, there is
    currently no way define what elements should be displayed or hidden
    when the "show" button is clicked.
    Chris

    Chris -
    You haven't gotten much response, as it's a bit hard to
    diagnose; the error message seems to indicate that there is
    something amiss in the frame hierarchy. Perhaps an extra frame is
    involved, or missing. You may be able to Sherlock the problem by
    pasting this script into one of your topic pages, and bringing it
    up in your help file arrangement. It will tell you the actual name
    of the parent frame(s), and the hierarchy:

  • Wwsbr_notification_portlet.show_approval - Approve button throws error

    <p>
    Portal Version: 9.0.4.2<br>
    RDBMS Versjion: 10gR1<br>
    OS/Vers. Where Portal is Installed:: Sun Solaris 9<br>
    Error Number(s): Internal error (WWC-00006) An unexpected error has occurred (WWS-32100)<br>
    </p>
    <p>
    I have a procedure that looks for pending items in the portal content tables, then sends emails to all users in the approval routing for each pending item. For some older pages, when I navigate to the approval form from a link in the email and click on the approve button, portal throws "Internal error (WWC-00006) An unexpected error has occurred (WWS-32100)". If I backup to the approval form again follow the link to the pending item's page in mode 25, I'm able to approve the same item without any problem.
    </p>
    <p>
    For newer test pages I create, public or private it doesn't matter, the error does not happen and approval works without a hitch. I've tried updating the approval routing on the new page to match that of the "old" page and still the new page doesn't throw this error.
    </p>
    <p>
    The URL that is used to launch the approval form is generated using the following code (domain name and some details have been removed):
    </p>
    <p>
    </p>
    <p>
    select <br>
    'https://my.domain/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwsbr_notification_portlet.show_approval?p_back_url=https%3A%2F%2Fmy.domain%2Fportal%2Fpage%3F_pageid%3D'

    from wwsbr_item_approval$ ia, wwv_things t, wwpob_page$ p
    where t.id = ia.item_id
    and t.subscriber_id=ia.subscriber_id(+)
    and t.cornerid = p.id
    and t.id = approval_items_rec.id
    and rownum = 1;
    </p>
    <p>
    </p>
    <p>
    Has anyone else seen this kind of problem before?
    </p>
    <p>
    I've determined that the error that occurs after clicking on the Approve button from the pending item approval form generated by a call to PORTAL.wwsbr_notification_portlet.show_approval is caused whenever the approval routing for the item's page has a group in it and someone edits the membership of that group while there are any pending items on that page.
    </p>
    <p>
    IMHO, this is not a very good "feature" of Portal. Portal stops users from editing the approval routing list of a page that has pending items, but it doesn't stop users from editing the group membership of a group that is on that same approval routing list. If the page in question is busy with a lot of different content authors adding content pending approval at any time of any day, when is it safe for someone to edit the membership of a group that is referenced in the approval routing (or a group that is a member of a group referenced in the approval routing)? In my opinion, this needs to be fixed. Portal should lock all of the groups associated with the approval routing list either directly or by composition when it locks the approval routing itself.
    </p>
    I've been able to work around the error by navigating to the page in _mode=25 and clicking on the approval actions icon next to the pending item (approve button works when form is generated by the link that calls wwv_thinghtml.content_actions_screen. It may be that this only works because my session is as the page creator.
    <p>
    Can I use PORTAL.wwv_thinghtml.content_actions_screen instead of PORTAL.wwsbr_notification_portlet.show_approval to display the approval form, or could this cause problems with the approval routing procedure or security? I've tried it and it works with a portlet wrapper and some error checking (determine if item has already been approved/rejected).
    </p>

  • Inserting PayPal buttons creates error messages

    Hello,
    I have inserted 3 "add to cart" buttons on a page that had no errors. After inserting the buttons a bunch of errors showed up, all for the code I have inserted from PayPal. The buttons are working, but what can I do about all the errors?
    http://www.drluxphotography.com/lc-int-redhook-keys-format.htm
    All the errors are for lines between 58 and 125.
    I sent the error list as attachment tp PayPay asking for help. The reply was
    " I'm not familiar with the issue or product being used. Most web editors have you enter (paste) the code and then specify where on the page it will be located. I'd contact their support or check online forums and see if someone has had a similar issue that they resolved."
    This is not an answer for the question, but it gave me an idea to ask if anyone had similar problems and would help me!
    Many thanks,
    Marianne

    Thank you ever so much! There are no more error messages!
    But since I had to close "input" 30 times and "img" 3 times for the 3 "add to cart" keys I have inserted, is this something that PayPal should be doing in the code that they are creating? Or is this a DW issue? Do other users have the same problem?
    I have to create over 300 keys so I wish there would be a way to avoid all the work.
    But I thank you again, at least I have a solution!
    Sincerely,
    Marianne
