Crosstab: How to define margin size and hide a resuming field
Post Author: jef.zapata
CA Forum: Charts and Graphs
Hi,I've work a lot on how I can optimize space between my fields in crosstable, and now I want to decrease margin size (removing margin totally make the display of my field horrible!). How can I do that?Secondly, I want to use a resuming field to define the sorting of my group field. This kind of sorting is working very well, but I want to hide the resuming field, not only supress the value, but totally hiding the field without loosing space, because I've got another resuming field that I want to display. Is it possible? Thanks a lot! Jef----
Using Crystal Report XI, on Release 2
Hi Suman,
if your problem is to avoid null pointer exception for EVS, before executing RFC you can check (wdContext.node<EVS>.current<EVS>element!=null). then you can populate a message for warning the user to enter EVS field.
and stop executing RFC.
thanks

How to define print size and paper
I designed an invitation in Pages and I want to print it on Staples inkjet notecard paper. There is 2 notecards to a page.
How do I define in Pages that I am using Staples or Avery notecard paper #.......
so it knows to print 2 notecards to a page and how to place them.
Thanks
-Jeff (frustrated) in NYCHi Jeff,
I've tried the "thank you" template to check this out, hope it's the same set up - (two copies per page), as you.
Go > print
below "pre-sets" (again my printer)
click on any arrow to open menu
select "layout"
select two copies per page - also when here, other variables
There is, in my printer menu, (below pre-sets) a "paper handling" selection which lets me choose which paper size to print on.
Hope it's some help,
Robert -
How to capture show layer and hide layer event in photoshop through a plugin???
How to capture show layer and hide layer event in photoshop through a plugin???for mac
Use the Listener plug-in found in the SDK to see how you can monitor the show/hide layer event. You can also use the Getter plug-in to show what information you can find out about the current state of Photoshop.

In SAP 4.6c In classical reports output how to change Font size and Font type
Dear Experts,
In SAP 4.6c, in classical and interactive reports output how to change font size and font type.
Regards,
Zaker. These are HTML formatting questions. Nothing to do with the Oracle SQL and PL/SQL languages.
With old-style HTML, the font size and family are set using the font tag.
With modern style HTML, that is done using cascading style sheets (CSS).
Your favourite search engine will turn up tons of information on both. -
hello ! how to change document sizes and use our own size (not A3, A2 ...) thank you !
Experiment. No harm in trying.
If you are just starting to use Pages you need to make your own assessment given current events whether committing your work to a format and software given this support is a wise move.
You also need to look at what will produce workable results. Particularly if your large posters are to be commercially printed and contain large bitmap (photographic) images.
Always work backwards from your output. Ask your printer what they require to do their job.

How to define the size of report area and its elements?
How can I define the report area size and its elements? And how can I define that for each printed paper, the details area will repeat horizontally or vertically?
Is there any way to change the measuring units?
Are there any difference between Crystal Reports that is bundled with Visual Studio 2005 to the standalone version that don't allow me doing what I need?
Thanks.Hi Juliano,
I hope this is what you had in mind...
1. File / Page setup: set your paper size, portrait/landscape and margins.
2. Section Expert: the page header &footer sections are 'locked' in that each page will have the space indicated dedicated to these sections; report header & footer - this is the space dedicated on the first and last page of the document. The remaining space available will be used up by the Details section.
I'm not sure how you can get the Details to print verticall vs horizontally - except maybe with cross-tab format.
3. Measuring units: is this for the ruler? This is pulled from your computer settings.
The rest I'm not sure about but I hope this is enough to get you started!

[AWESOME WM] How to define the size of textbox widget
Hi,
I have problem with network widget. When some transfer has place widget change it's value and move all widgets that are place before it. Is there any why to set it's width to some fix value so it have some margin for changes?
To create widget I use vicious.
I create netwidget like:
netupwidget = wibox.widget.textbox()
vicious.register(netupwidget, vicious.widgets.net, '<span><b>${eth0 up_kb}</b></span>', 3)

in awesome-git the syntax is different. i would recommend using the non-git-version, because the most tutorials are for older versions.
without reading the references of the git version, try something like netdownwidget:set_width(x)
// edit: your icons arnt centered, maybe ur interested in that command:
for x in *.xbm; do convert -fill "#afa72e" -transparent white -colorize 100 -bordercolor transparent -border 8x8 -gravity center -crop 16x16+0+0 "${x}" "${x%.*}.png"; done

How to define pool size of a data source
In OC4J,How do I configure the behaviour of connection pools such as maxStatements, initialPoolSize, minPoolSize, maxPoolSize, maxIdleTime, propertyCycle which is defined in the JDBC specification?
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by wang haitao ([email protected]):
Thanks. From the example,I have known how to configure the minPoolSize and MaxPoolSize.
But,where can I find a example include all the datasource properties?
When I configure a property, I want to know the XML tag for the property.
IS this what you are looking for: http://www.orionserver.com/docs/data-sources.xml.html
<data-sources>
This file contains the configuration for the installed DataSources of an application-server.
<data-source ...>
An installed DataSource. The installed DataSources are bound to the JNDI-paths specified by the location attribute.
class - The classname of the DataSource. The core classes are com.evermind.sql.DriverManagerDataSource, com.evermind.sql.DriverManagerXADataSource, com.evermind.sql.DriverManagerConnectionPoolDataSource, com.evermind.sql.OrionPooledDataSource, com.evermind.sql.OrionCMTDataSource. There is also a special name; com.evermind.sql.AliasDataSource, which copies the data-source at the source-location to the specified location. See the API docs for further info on the other types.
connection-driver - The JDBC-driver classname for this DataSource, needed by some DataSources that deal with java.sql.Connections.
connection-retry-interval - How long to wait before retrying in seconds if a connection attempt fails. The default is 1.
ejb-location - The JNDI-path to bind an EJB-aware and pooled version of this DataSource to. (only applies to ConnectionDataSources). This version of the datasoruce will automatically take part in container-managed transactions and is the type of source that should be used from within EJBs and similar (if you use a "clean" datasource you loose the container-managed transactions support).
inactivity-timeout - Time to cache unused connections before closing them (seconds).
location - The JNDI-path to bind this DataSource to.
max-connect-attempts - How many times to retry making a Connection. This is useful when the network isnt stable or the environment is unstable for any other reason that will make connection attempts fail at times. The default is 3.
max-connections - The maximum number of open connections for pooling DataSources.
min-connections - The minimum number of open connections for pooling DataSources. The default is zero.
name - The displayed name of the DataSource.
password - The password to user when logging in using the DataSource, optional.
pooled-location - The JNDI-path to bind a pooled version of this DataSource to. (only applies to ConnectionDataSources).
schema - The relative/absolute path to a database-schema for this database connection.
source-location - The underlying DataSource of this specialized DataSource.
url - The JDBC URL for this DataSource, needed by some DataSources that deal with java.sql.Connections.
username - The username to log in as when using the DataSource, optional.
wait-timeout - The number of seconds to wait for a free connection if the pool is used up (ie reached max-connections used). The default is 60.
xa-location - The JNDI-path to bind a transactional version of this DataSource to. (only applies to ConnectionDataSources). XA-datasources are automatically pooled internally.
xa-source-location - The underlying XADataSource of this specialized DataSource (used by OrionCMTDataSource).
<description>The description</description>
A short description.
<property name="theName" value="theValue" />
A property to set when using a custom/3rd-party DataSource.

How to extract the size and date from a given file
Hi,
I want to extract the size and date of a file (it can be either a video, audio or text file) that the user points to the location of. But I am not sure how. Does Java have an api that can do this? If not is there some other way of doing this? Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.Have a look at java.io.File, specifically
public long lastModified()
This format returned (I find) is nasty, so then use java.util.Date (or java.sql.Date, look the same on the surface to me) to format it.
Cheers,

How to change Font size and alignment in Appraisal document - Font settings
Dear Eperts,
We are working on 360 Appraisal. Can Any body explain how to change the fornt size and allignment (text wrapping to wndow size) in Appraisal document.
Thanks and Regards,
AjaykumarHello Ajaykumar,
if I am not completely mistaking the 360° Appraisal uses the Adobe Forms.
In this case the font can be set in the Adobe Live Cycle Designer by selecting "Palettes" -> "Font".
Here is a discussion which addresses this question, and also contains a link to how to handle Adobe Forms:

How to change the size and font of my text in SMARTFORMS
Hello gurus,
I have a smartform as image below:
I want to know how can I change the font size, and if is there a way to auto adjust text within its container or window?
ThanlsTo maintain « Styles » in your Smart form, read first : Smart Forms > Maintenance of Styles with the Style Builder.
Transaction SMARTSTYLES
if not already created, create a new style (e.g. copy the style assigned to your form)
create a new paragraph format
select alignment "BLOCK Justified"
Then in transaction SMARTFORMS attach your style and use your new paragraph format.

Raymond
