Crystal XI Report viewer and Parameters

This one is killing me.
I have a report connected to a SQL 2005 backend. One subreport. one Parameter.
I set up the report object (login to the db...set the parameter...etc.)
If i do a crReportDocument.PrintToPrinter(1, False, 0, 0) - report prints, works fine ....beautiful.
Now, I do the exact same thing Same code same evrything except at the end i do this.
Me.CrystalReportViewer1.ParameterFieldInfo = crReportDocument.ParameterFields
Me.CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = crReportDocument
The report ignores my parameter and displays the entire recordset!
No prompts for a value - and if i break.. after
Me.CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = crReportDocument i can see that the paramter has the correct value in it.
Doesn't seem to mater if its set to a defaultvalue or currentvalue - tried em both - neither works.
Someone please point me in the correct direction?

This thread being 4 years old, I'd recommend that you create a new thread. Specify the following:
Exact version of CR (e.g. CR XI or CR 2008 is not good enough)
Version of .NET used
OS
Is this issue on your development computer or after you deploy the app?
Database and database connection method

Hi, i need to install the activex control into every single client pc. I know ie browser is supposed to download it at the very first time when it hits crystal report page, but due to certain restriction applied to client pcs, this feature is blocked.
Does anyone have Crystal ActiveX Report Viewer Control 12.0 installer ? How can I install it on the clients pc ?

Copy the PrintControl.cab from the server location u201C<installation drive>\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\4.0\crystalreportviewers12\ActiveXControlsu201D to the client machine. Then Extract the PrintControl.cab. Then register (regsvr32) the printcontrol.dll.

クリスタルレポートXIR2をASP（ASP.NETではない方です）で
表示しているのですが、クライアント側のブラウザにおいて
ActiveXのCrystal ActiveX Report Viewer Control 11.5のインストールに失敗したり、
インストールできてもうまく動作しなかったりする事があるのですが、
うまくインストール出来なかった場合の対処法・再インストール方法などは、
ありますでしょうか？

Dynamic command execution fails in Crystal report viewer for parameters

We are using the Crystal Report Viewer for the .Net Application on the client side.The reports are designed using Crystal Report XI R2.
The issues that we are currently encountering is that, we are unable to load the combo-boxes in the pop-up for the parameters.
All the reports have multiple commands and the variables are of 'dynamic' type.
When the dialog box for requesting the pop-up comes up, It comes up empty even though they are linked to the respective commands.
Also,For reports having multiple parameters we are unable to give a single dialog box to get in all the parameters.It appears as a series of prompts.
Both,these issues are not encountered when the reports are launched via the Crystal reports developer tool.

Problem with Crystal Report Viewer and Dual Monitors

Hey Guys,
I'm running into another problem with the Crystal Report Viewer. Here's a little info before I get started, I'm developing a Windows App using WinForms in VS2005 and Crystal 11 Release 2. I'm referencing all the latest Crystal dlls from Service Pack 2 of Crystal 11 Release 2. The problem occurs when I drag my Windows Form that contains a Crystal Report Viewer onto my second monitor and try to scroll or resize it, when I try this the Report Document within the Viewer becomes glitchy, blocky, and un-readable. I drag it back onto my main monitor and perform the same actions and the Report appears perfectly fine. I notice this occurs after a number of Report Previews through my App. Initially when I start my App, I can drag the reports onto my second monitor and resize it and scroll through it no problem. However, after a number of Previews, I notice the problem occurs on my second monitor. This is a very strange bug that doesn't produce an error and appears to happen randomly. I was wondering if anyone has come across this problem, if so... Is there a solution for this?

You can update the parameters using Crystal Viewer 2008. I had the same problem with the "CHANGE" button being grayed out.
Go to your Report -> Select Expert -> and now you have three choices: Record, Group, Saved Data. Put your select statement using your parameters in the Saved Data only (remove it from Record if already there).
It works awesome and even works on dynamic parameters!

Crystal Report Viewer and Windows Vista

We are using RDC methodology for launching the crystal reports in the web using ASP.
The web server operating system is Windows 2003, Crystal Reports XI is installed in it. Report is not launching in only one client machine. For all the other client machines reports are launching perfectly. The problem is blank white activex control is displayed. I tried to register the crystal reports viewer (ActiveXViewer.cab available in the crystal installation folder) deliverables in the client machine but after installing the deliverables same problem persists.
When I click on the Crystal Report viewer Internet Explorer Exception occurs

Hello,
First thing to do is upgrade to [CR XI R2 SP4 full build|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100011802732008E/crxir2_sp4_full_build.exe]. Then get up to Service Pack 6 and you should not have problems with Vista.
CR XI R1 will not and has never been tested on that OS.
If you do not want to upgrade though use Process Monitor to watch for Access Denied errors. Also run IE in Compatibility mode.
Likely what is happening is your test PC doesn't have rights to install ActiveX controls.

Crystal Report Viewer and border problems

Hello there, I've created an report and I've added borders for the fields in the report (Right click on the field > Format Object -> Border -> Choose for the 4 margins the line-style single). The report is correctly exported to different formats (.doc, .pdf, .xls). My problem is that when I display the report in an ASP.NET 2.0 page using an Crystal Report Viewer the report is correctly shown but the borders don't appear.My question is why the borders don't appear in the Crystal Report Viewer? I have the exact opposite problem as yours.
I am using integrated crystal reports with Visual Studio 2005 and I have put a Crystal Viewer on a web page.
First I also had the same problem like yours and then in one of the post i found a solution for this. Hope it will work for you too. here it is :-

Now regarding my problem. My problems is that now i can view the borders and everything correctly in the viewer but when i try to print the report it automatically exports to Adobe first and BAM!!! the format disappears. Though if i export to word Doc format it export perfectly fine with all the borders and everything

Crystal Report Viewer and Windows 7 Enterprise

We are using RDC methodology for launching the crystal reports in the web using ASP.
The web server operating server is Windows 2003, Crystal Reports XI Release 2 is installed in it. Activex Viewer is downloading fine in client machine having Windows XP OS (IE Version is 7) but for the same url ActiveXViewer.cab is not getting downloaded in Windows 7 Enterprise (IE Version is 8). It throws the error u201CThe Crystal Report Viewer is unable to create its resource objects.u201D
To download the cab file in Windows 7 machine it request for the following url
1.     http://<web server name>/crystalreportviewers115/ActiveXControls/ActiveXViewer.cab
2.     http://crl.verisign.com/pca3.crl
3.     http://csc3-2004-crl.verisign.com/CSC3-2004.crl
4.     http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authrootstl.cab
URL 2,3,4 returns the http status as 502 (Bad gateway). These url are not called from the Windows XP machine.
The windows 7 client machine is not connected to the internet. I tried importing the crl files (by downloading from another machine). But still we are getting the same error.
How to over come this issue?
Please Note :
1. I am able to download the cab file when I tried to download only the cab file directly by specifying the cab url.
2. If I am registering the ActiveXViewer.cab deliverables manually in the client machine report is launching fine, but we cannot do the same for the entire client machine having Windows 7 Enterprise Operating System.

Thank you very much for the information provided by you. But still the same error (The Crystal Report Viewer is unable to create its resource objects) occurs after changing the IE8 Compatibility mode.
Are there any other settings that can be tried for this issue?

Report Viewer and Multiple Data Sources

I know that it is possible to create a report in Crystal Reports using multiple data sources. But is it possible to use just the Free Report Viewer to view a report with Multiple Data Sources?
Our company uses Crystal Reports XI. I do not use the program myself, I am in the IT Department. I have limited knowledge of Crystal and do not do any of the report writing.
If this is possible, and if someone could help me out with what would need to be done, or point me in the right direction of a Knowledge Base or Help Topic that explains this, that would be great.

I believe it can but both data sources need to be set up. Ask a report designer to help you use the Designer to test this and see what is required.

Web Part - Report Viewer - Override Parameters are not saving

When I select the override option and check the one parameter out of the list and click apply, or OK, the Web Part refreshes and resets the parameter list with all the items checked again.

·         The parameters are loaded in the web part settings, and the option to
override the default parameter is selected and overridden with the desired value.
·         After pressing OK, the
report loads as expected.
·         After pressing "Stop Editing" on the page, the
report still appears as expected.
·         If the page is reloaded, the
parameters have been removed.

Report Viewer and Zoom dropdown

I have a problem which I have searched for days for an answer to (to no avail). When using the report viewer control on an aspx page when a user changes the zoom level from the drop down the report resizes however the scroll position of the report
seems wrong. I cannot see the top portion of the report. When using the dropdown from a report generated from the report manager it works fine.
Any suggestions?
The actual scenario is this.
There is a server side web page (aspx web form) which contains a report viewer. I have an http handler which intercepts calls and does a processrequest using the server page.

According to your description, you have issues when view the report via a web application. The header part will be out of screen when you zoom out. Right?
In this scenario, when you zoom out in the web application, it will zoom out the whole report area. However, the ReportView Control form will not expand with the report zoomed out. And when zooming out the report, it will not keep the top left portion, that
makes us can't see the header part. This can be a feature for ReportView Control in web application by design (it will not happen in other application like winform application).

Report Viewer and September Dates

We're experiencing a very strange bug with the report viewer. On date prompts, if the month of September is selected from the drop down calender, the inputted value is for October. So even if I select September 1st from the calendar, it becomes October 1st.

Crystal Report viewing and Printing Issue

What is your SAP version and Patch Level ?
I believe in new version this issue has been addressed by SAP. Also note SAP B1 8.81 PL 07 has some issues in crystal Report, it asks for SQL user id and password, SAP is aware of this issue. So if you plan upgrade to latest PL then ensure that Crystal report issue is resolved, otherwise you will be in trouble.

Crystal ActiveX Report Viewer Control 11.0 not exporting to excel

I have a wierd problem, I have crystal report XI R2 installed on the server. Client when login on the my application gets prompt to install the activx control; installing of which the report is opening fine.
Whenever the user clicks on the "Export to" button on the activeX and selects excel; the export dialog box just hangs. All other export option pdf, word, rtf are working fine except Excel.
Can someone help me in this....

So I recommend you to upgrade your version of CR XIR2 to at least SP2.
